Villa 14 didnt meet my expectations unfortunately.
Needs renovating and the ant infestation was a problem.
Bedroom lacked a mirror and is small in comparison to lounge.
I would have liked a slightly larger bedroom, smaller lounge.
Bedroom had no space to put your suitcase

But cant fault it overall I think we got unlucky with a tired looking villa.

We just returned from a beautiful stay at Clouds and we couldn’t be happier. It was by far the best choice - stunning location, rooms, pool, food(!) and most importantly the staff. We will 100% be returning. We have travelled to a lot of
5* properties around worlds and this was truly special.
A good point to note is that it’s right next door to the Delaire Graff Estate which is worth a visit for wine tasting, or lunch/dinner (they offer a free shuttle service). Also right beside some spectacular wineries, Tokara & Bartinney.

It was our second stay at this amazing hotel. It’s a spectacular location with views across the mountains and vineyards. Lovely room with some really nice touches (e.g. free bottle of their wine).

The owners and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.

The views from Clouds are incredible, the best thing about our stay was the views, you will get incredible views from most places in this accommodation, your room, the main pool/ dining area and also the higher pool. the room is also lovely, very well designed and modern amenities. They also provided us with a bottle of Prosecco for our honeymoon which was a nice touch. They bring round refreshing ice cream by the pool which is a lovely touch. We had dinner one night which was nice

However overall I am not sure I would rate it as 5*. When we arrived our WiFi didn’t work for the first day we were there in our room, the hairdryer didn’t work, it required an extra adapter which reception were able to provide and this was fine. I had requested an iron which was told would be delivered to the room which it wasn’t, I had to ask again the next morning. The breakfast option isn’t great, could have better variety. The WiFi also cuts out quite a lot especially if at the pools, there is individual wifis per room

Overall I would come back for the views but in comparison to other 5 star hotels I have stayed in on my trip I don’t think it quite makes 5 stars

Clouds Estate was simply breathtakingly beautiful experience. Fabulous, luxury accommodation set within the vineyards of Stellenbosch. Dinner in the evening was excellent and a lovely selection of hot and cold breakfast choices each morning. The pool area was clean and welcoming with stunning views making this a very relaxing few days. Staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. A fabulous venue to celebrate a special Birthday.
We received a recommendation for dinner at Graff estate next door and we were driven and collected by concierge at Clouds by golf buggy. We hope to return soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay, one I shall never forget. A huge thanks to Sharon for being so helpful and informative about the area.

We stayed in a deluxe villa on the estate. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and it was easy to book a reasonably priced transfer from the airport. They kindly allowed us a complimentary (very) early check in and that was fantastic after a long flight. The room was very spacious with a stunning view from the patio. It was quiet and peaceful. There was a working kitchen with a coffee machine and tea and coffee and complimentary wine, beer and snacks. The amenities were very comprehensive. The bed was large and comfortable with good air conditioning. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of cut fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon and pastries plus a cooked to order hot choice (including eggs royale!). My husband is very fussy about his coffee but said the coffee he was served was perfect. We had lunch and dinner there and although there was limited choice, all the meals were very tasty and the portions large. We had a private wine tasting of five of the Estate’s wines which we really enjoyed. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend a stay here if in stellenbosch.

This is luxury personified. Stunning views, wonderful rooms with the option to stay in bespoke accommodation. Such as a private pool or hot tub options. There is simply no better view on the Helshgoote Pass. Staff were extremely helpful with nice touches to enhance guests stay throughout. This is a high end luxury hotel with a relaxed atmosphere we will definitely be returning.

A lovely hotel, friendly comfortable and with a lot of nice art work inside and around. We have stayed here before, so knew what to expect. Things were not so good this time in the restaurant though. The dinner menu was very limited, with only four mains. The spaghetti of the day was the same every day, so was the fish of the day on an inedible veg base. There was another pasta, a lasagne with egg plant which was bland the . Staying for four days we had to go out to get a decent meal. Breakfast was great as usual.
Our other complaint was when coming back at 8pm having been out, there was no one at the gate to let us into the drive. We spent 15 minutes flashing the car lights, hooting the horn. To no avail. The gate call buttons were not working, and my wife had to squeeze through the gate and walk 10 minutes uphill in the dark to get someone to open the gates. We got no apology!

Very disappointed. Rooms not as in the picture. This is not high end. We booked the new suite which had pictures of vineyard views and we got dark room facing trees. The room was not great - hair on floor, dirty work tops, broken security gate, blocked shower, dark bed sheets (hate that as you can’t be sure clean and not typical in 5 star). The room is new and furnished to a good standard but the wider hotel is really more 3 star and very basic. Staff lovely and super helpful, but the manager had a real attitude, doesn’t want to hear anything negative, didn’t come back as she said she would on our issues and only interested in her margin.

We booked for 4 days and left after 2. Very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for a 5 start experience. There are far better hotels for the same money in the area.

An amazing stay. Service was excellent - in particular Hugo and Abigail stepped in when one of our party was ill, contacting a doctor and the local hospital on our behalf. The villa we stayed in was spectacular, with an infinity pool for the villa area. Food was outstanding as were the wines.

Staff and facilities are superb. When checking in they gave you a choice of wine or soft drinks and some cheese and biscuits. They take your bags to the room. They have an on site restaurant which is a little limited, but with the number of guests it’s great that they now do this, so you can have an evening meal without having to going out. This is a boutique hotel where the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Sheldon and all the other staff are just amazing. The rooms are a good size and the bed was really comfortable, the infinity pool is lovely and the views are spectacular. We had an early check out before breakfast service and they sent us off with a huge breakfast with yoghurt, fruit, croissants, muffins, sandwiches and drinks. Typical of the attention to service that you get at Clouds Estate. Just a fantastic stay!!!

We had the most glorious stay in Clouds. The room and view were magnificent and the staff kind and attentive. This was off season so it was quiet, which was charming in itself. This was our last night in South Africa after an amazing vacation in Sabi Sands and the Western Cape. Clouds was a lovely place to finish our 30th anniversary trip and they were generous with bespoke attention. I would absolutely recommend here and would love to see it in the summer months too. Dinner and breakfast were very good. This is a beautiful area of the country.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The views are stunning and the rooms are well made up for a short or long stay.
However i have been suffering with food poisoning since we left so i have removed some stars. The restaurant was much quieter than expected and food for the first time in SA did not taste so great. The next 24 hours were very painful.

We only spent one night at this property during the last day of our trip to South Africa. We really wish we had booked additional nights. WOW.

We stayed in Room #7 which had an amazing balcony set-up that allowed us to view both sides of the valley at different times of the day. The room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. All of the rooms have amazing views and easy access to the pool area and lounge.

The staff were fantastic. They assisted us with making dinner reservations at the neighbouring Delaire Graff and accommodated a late check out. We were able to store our luggage and enjoyed their \"shower room\" before heading off to the airport for a late flight home.

The breakfast was excellent and taken on the patio overlooking the pool and the valley. The kitchen and bar staff were very attentive to our needs.

This is a very small resort which makes it very comfortable and quiet. The perfect spot for a nice relaxing visit of the Stellenbosch area. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back if we make it to this part of the world again.

Hotel was beautiful, if out in the country a bit. You need a car to get you from Capetown to Stellenbosch and then to the Clouds estate. Once there, the facilities are really nice and space is well used and appears larger than it actually is. The room was quite comfortable for 2 people. The lounge and deck are great meeting places and for dinner.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the clouds estate in Stellenbosch! We stayed for 3 nights, breakfast was lovely with so many options, including the standard buffet. Room was lovely and bathroom had heated floors. Hotel included a free wine tasting for guests and location was wonderful, with direct access to the lovely Delaire graff estate next door! We had dinner one night at the hotel and really enjoyed the food. It was a shame the weather was so poorly during our stay (it rained constantly for 2 days) so we did not get to enjoy the beautiful pool and stunning views. Seamless checkin and checkout. A little more interaction with reception staff and guests would have been nice. Overall, loved our stay and highly recommend this property!

The perfect venue for a much needed weekend breakaway! Both venue and staff attention to detail was imaculate, from heated bathroom floors to Craig bringing us hot water bottles with our room service. Views are breathtaking, surroundings are peaceful and quiet such that you can listen to the trickle of the pool and sounds of many birds. We just loved relaxing on our deck, in the jacuzzi and next to the pool. Everything was just perfect. Thank you.

Loved it here! Absolutely beautiful and for a great price! (In comparison to Delaire Graff right next door). The wine tasting and breakfast is complementary and everyone is super nice. Felt like luxury and we loved it. The only thing missing is a spa but you are able to order a mobile spa service that comes to give the massage in your room. I would definitely recommend it!

From the moment we arrived the staff were very warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to help, offering taxis etc. In addition, the housekeeping at our villa was quick and efficient. Our accommodation was contemporary and beautiful. There were full kitchen facilities, with a complimentary bottle of Clouds wine chilling in the fridge. The bathroom was well stocked with luxury items. The setting and view from the villa (number 10) was spectacular; there were large patio doors opening onto a deck area with ample seating.
The restaurant and lounge area in the main hotel provided a serene ambiance; again with fantastic vistas. This setting along with high quality, delicious food and their own wines (others are available) made our dining experience a pleasure. We must mention Bruce who looked after us at dinner. He helped to make the dining experience special with his quiet and professional approach whilst anticipating our needs. The breakfasts were also delicious with a full range of fruit, meat, cheeses etc along with the opportunity to order a cooked breakfast as well. A touch of luxury was provided each morning with the opportunity to start the day with a buck's fizz; delightful for non-drivers.
Clouds' attention to detail enabled us to have a truly delightful experience including peace and quiet. We would highly recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic stay in an incredible setting

We stayed in the honeymoon suite and had a wonderful time at clouds. Our room was spectacular, the spa on our deck was fantastic, and the staff were excellent, Andrew and Bruce in particular, thank you so much for looking after us. The restaurant is great, we didn't end up eating anywhere else. We had a super relaxing time and highly recommend Clouds Estate.

Excellent views, friendly staff,let down by dirty tired towels, bed linen,web sites room description not updated and misleading both on Expedia and other web sites leading to not getting what you paid for? Not enough sun beds at the pool For the small amount of guests? Misguided staff which you can only blame on the bad management.

The whole experience was perfection. Staff very friendly. Room absolutely perfect. Evening meal and breakfast really lovely. This is a total 5-star establishment and would have no hesitation in returning. Loved every minute of our stay.

Nice estate

I recommend clouds to anyone wants to enjoy staying near wining farms. Beautiful and quite place to stay in. It does not have spa or fitness but everything else is perfect.

Absolutely stunning wine estate and 5 star hotel

Very much enjoyed our stay. The location is amazing for the views of the surrounding region. The infinity pool overlooking the Simonsberg mountain will blow you away. It's a winery, and they provide you with a complimentary bottle. All of the snacks in the mini fridge are complimentary. Heated floors, heated towel rack, and automatic lights in the bathroom were over the top! The food is just wonderful. There are 3 other wineries within walking distance, or take a tour, they'll drive you by golf cart. A true delight for couples wanting to enjoy a romantic getaway in wine country!

Really beautiful end to our holiday in SA. The most amazing views and incredibly helpful and delightful staff who really helped when our original airport transfer fell through at the last minute - thank you your help was really appreciated. Fabulous location and then of course there is the wine. Highly reccommended.
