Lakeside Inn is amazing. Facilities are clean, comfortable. Staff aill around was fantastic. Minor inconvenience like no refrigerators in standard rooms, no coffee machines and no room safes. Really can make do without them. Ready to stay again.

Check in was delayed an hour because the room wasn’t ready. The room was spacious and comfortable. Decor was 90’s country. AC worked well. The shower took a bit for the hot water to come in, and water pressure came in and out. Parking was easy when we checked in on Friday but Saturday was difficult. We had to park at the back of the overflow lot on gravel. It was also poorly lit. Breakfast on the porch was good. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The view of the lake was nice. Food was served fresh and quickly. The location can’t be beat, basically a 5-10 minute walk to most restaurants and shops. While some aspects of the inn are outdated, its charm, view of the lake, and location make up for it.

The room was very nice, nicely furnished. The bathroom was very spacious. I’m not a fan of glass enclosed showers, but it looked great. The staff was very attentive. The carpeting on the stairs and down the hallway is in need of replacement, and lumpy in spots. The staff was very attentive. I enjoyed my stay.

Good location, pretty from the outside. Rooms are uncomfortable. First, plan on carrying your luggage upstairs, no elevators. No place in the bathroom to put anything, not great for getting ready. One suitcase holder, no tables or chair for additional. Smallest tv I’ve ever seen. Checked out a day early.

If you want to visit the cutest town with friendly people at the hotel and the shops, this is the place to stay. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants, bars, boutique shops, antique shops and entertainment. We never had to use our car and there’s a free ride app to take you around the town too. The hotel has 3 restaurants and gorgeous scenery surrounding it. We loved it!

Hotel is awful. Terrible condition. Worn out. Badly in need of total makeover. Rooms are disgraceful. $350/night & room was crap: filthy carpet, worn out furnishings, no hot water, 1950s style bathroom. What a rip off. I wouldn’t let my dog stay there. Food & bar was way below par. Room wasn’t ready & we arrived 1hour ahead of checkin & still couldn’t have our room ready by check-in time. Hotel should have paid us to stay there. Liquidate it & sell to a real hotel management business. If asked, I’ll share our terrible experience.

Room was apart from main Inn. I booked because I wanted to stay in main Inn. Room was minimal. No chair… toiletries for 1 person not 2. Spoke to desk staff about my desire to stay main inn. Was blown off and told location had same features as inn. It did not. Most disappointed.

Overall, I would stay here again if I went to an event in Mount Dora. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of everything, it's clean, the grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly. Weather was too cold to enjoy the big porch with rocking chairs and lakefront viewing, but that was just mother nature. The hotel is \"vintage\" and is staying with that theme, which is okay. Got no problem with that, however the room, for as much as it cost per night needed some updating - carpet is old and dingy, bedspread was too \"grandma\" for me, and very little artwork on the walls. Seems as though they could do much better in the rooms. Having said that, the king bed was super comfy, towels clean, etc.

The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Can't beat the location for visiting Mount Dora. The rooms could use some updating. Not much room to keep bathroom sundries (pedestal sinks and narrow shelves in medicine chest), and limited storage in rooms. But overall a very pleasant stay.

Great location, but older hotel so with that you don't have the most comfortable rooms. The first room I was assigned had bad mold smell coming from the split a/c unit, which was caked in dirt if I look inside the vents. They gave me different room which which had no mold smell and looks like a new split ac unit. The new room was good. Getting the water temperature during shower time (tried at different times in the day) was extremely challenging. All of the of the staff was super courteous and super helpful.

The room’s outlets didn’t work. We had to get an electrician to bring a strip so we could charge devices and run the hair dryer. The room smelled musty and the A/ varied between frigid and hot.

The only nice thing about this hotel is the view of the lake — unfortunately, that’s it.

The rooms were old, poorly maintained, and not clean at all. Definitely not comfortable and far from what you would expect from a hotel stay.

Service was terrible. Staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful, and basic requests were either ignored or handled very poorly. There was no sense of hospitality.

The food was awful. Low quality, badly prepared, and completely overpriced for what was offered.

Overall, this hotel relies entirely on its lake view while failing in every other aspect. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Lakeside Inn this past weekend. I have both positive and negative comments to add.
First, the positives. The inn reminded me of something you would find in the Catskills years ago. The inn is charming with its large porch facing Lake Dora. The staff were all pleasant and the service good. Apps and drinks on the porch (Shrimp and Salmon spread) were great. Breakfast (is not free) was well priced and delicious. The pub with live piano music was enjoyable. iel
Now for the negatives. Our room was on the second floor, apparently over a function room. There was a holiday party being below us that made our entire room vibrate until 10 pm. The shower water temp was sporadic at best. The water would be hot and then go cold without touching the handles. Overall, our stay at the Lakeside Inn was enjoyable.

On Dec 25, they told us at 10:17 am that breakfast was over at 10:15. We were departing to Miami by car and asked where we could get coffe and they sent us to a closed coffee shop. We did not encounter, in our four or five exchanges at the desk, a pleasant person or one willing to give information. They all need a course in. Civilit, specially during Xmas time.

The Lakeside Inn is a throwback to times when class and elegance took precedence over fast and furious. Our room was beautifully made up and we had a view of the sunset and the central grounds. The main lobby takes you back to the early 1900's with wood floors a beautiful fireplace, piano and multitude of comfortable chairs to sit, talk, read or just have quiet time.
Why not 5 stars? The walls are thin, as we could easily hear the neighbor's conversation, and the water pressure was very low in the bathroom sink. The drain was also very slow. We brought these issues to the attention of management, and they immediately notified maintenance. Would we come back ABSOLUTEY YES!

Our room was fine and the bed was comfortable. Since it's a historic inn, we knew not to expect modern amenities such as mini-fridge or coffee pot. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. The closet was huge which would be more useful for stays longer than our single night. Breakfast in the Beauclaire restaurant was tasty. We plan to return to Mt. Dora and will stay at the Lakeside Inn again.

Outside is gorgeous. Inside…nope! Old carpet, beds, linens. Dust and dirt caked around bed on carpet. Hair in tub, shower. Paper thin walls/adjoining doors permit one to hear EVERY. SINGLE. NOISE. We had our 11 yo w/us. Couple next door were up all night. Use your imagination. Never again!

Return visitor, but even taking into account the history of the hotel, the rooms are becoming increasingly tired.
No hot water in the room & reception were completely unhelpful 'oh they should have told you that at check-in'.....seriously!
Floyd in the main bar rescued the visit somewhat though, as he is always super helpful & good fun.
