The hotel was nice, the staff were spectacular. They were kind and helpful at every turn. They were able to let me change room when I requested as soon as a room with a second bed opened up.

The room was nice but linoleum flooring is loud and cool; carpet is nicer but harder to clean, so I get it. Not that big of a deal but if they read these & are remodeling, keep this in mind.

The facilities are aging a bit. The shower/tub is way too elevated above the floor, from a safety standpoint. The glass shield for the shower only blocks half of the tub and water gets on the floor, making it very slick, making stepping down quite dangerous. Again this should be addressed if/when remodeling.

Overall, the stay was nice, the staff great, the food was decent by hotel standards.

The Kilmurry is a wonderful place to stay in Limerick. The rooms and hallways are super clean, the beds are cozy, and the rooms are tastefully designed. But what makes Kilmurry such a gem is the super welcoming staff. They will do anything to make you feel welcome- from getting your room ready early because you came in early on an international flight to accommodating difficult dietary restrictions. They are so kind and sincerely want to be sure you feel very welcome.

Room issues

Our room had a double bed and a single. The single was very hard. It possibly should be replaced. We couldn’t get the thermostat to provide circulation so we were glad the windows opened. We kept them open all night😃

I loved the photos they posted. However this hotel is not for travelers. We stayed in room 501 and after trying to turn on the AC and nothing happened, we were told the room did NOT have AC!!!! In the summer! They brought us a fan. We tried to open the window to get some airflow, however it would only crack open maybe 1-2”. And since there wasn’t a screen, it let bugs in and we got bit (assuming a mosquito as it was in random spots). In addition the room did not have a top sheet, only a duvet cover. However it was too HOT to sleep under it. I don’t sleep well without a cover, so sleep was not my friend. And I woke up with a couple of bites from sleeping with the window open.

Lastly, the restaurant was a disaster. They gave us a drink menu that included martinis and then proceeded to tell us they don’t make martinis (even though the bar clearly had vodka, simple syrup and lemons (lemon drop martini). My partner order the meat platter and it was awful. The bbq pulled pork was dry and crunchy. The brisket wasn’t smoked and clearly pan fried in oil. Had zero flavor, except the grease from the pan. Zero seasoning. He said the only good thing was the two chicken wings it included. I couldn’t believe the could serve anything that looked like that!

We won’t stay here again or eat here again.

This was super convenient for our purposes. We were visiting University of Limerick UL. We caught a bus from Dublin which literally took us right there. We got in late and were able to enjoy a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant. The Irish Breakfast was a Batavian. And we were able to walk to UL. We were also able to pick up things at the pharmacy and grocery store right across the highway. As an American I was flabbergasted at how drivers were religious about stopping for pedestrians at the cross walk.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel was clean and quiet.

The rooms, seemingly about 40 years old, have been nicely renovated. The bedrooms are large, the bathroom has new fixtures, and the beds are comfortable. Easy parking. A carriageway interchange and the university are nearby. And the breakfast is marvelous!
However, the heating system is archaic. The radiator runs full bore. There is no thermostat or water valve to control it. Accordingly, I did not get a restful sleep.

Good stay, really great breakfast.

Property is located in the outskirts of Limerick, about 15-20 driving time from the city, depending on traffic. Right on the Dublin road though, so quick to get on the M7 if one goes the other way. There's a Lidl right next door and a big petrol station across the road. The University of Limerick is nearby, if that's of any interest, as is Plassey Industrial Estate.

The hotel does have a restaurant, we did not have dinner though, so can't comment on that.

We stayed in a good and ample double room featuring double & single bed. Bathroom includes bathtub & shower. There was a vending machine near the room.

Best thing about the stay was the buffet-style breakfast, plenty of good quality food, with streaky bacon -rather than the all-too-common rashers-, so definitely bonus points for that. Keep that breakfast as is.

We chose the property on the basis of price/breakfast included.

Sadly not a restful place.

In a great location for us, however we did not sleep well on any night due to the level of noise from the main corridor. Unfortunately the bedroom doors only seem to close with a 'slam' and this woke us constantly, along with loud chatter from fellow residents returning home all through the night, and again early morning. Not much noise through the bedroom internal walls so perhaps more can be done to address the corridor noise?
A personal preference, but i found the bed uncomfortable as it was very firm and not suitable for side sleeping.
It was not clear on check out procedure when leaving early hours - there was no one to hand a key to or a designated key box so we just left ours on the desk and hoped for the best.

Frankly don’t want to waste my time. First impressions matter and unfortunately Joel did not impress. If I could have back out of staying here based on my interaction with Joel I would have. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. For the price I paid, it was very basic. Felt like a low budget hotel room. Furnishings were old and worn. Vinyl flooring in my room with no carpets. Bath countertops were chipped. No washcloths available. And the room was very warm (couldn’t seem to control the temp). I was expecting much higher end accommodations for the price.
