Weak A/c and the bathrooms in the rooms are in need of a update, black mold, and old caulking around the tub, shower is rather high up meaning anyone barely can step out without the risk of a fall... they give you a gross bath mat which I wand most people would never use but they have done such great work with the lobby perhaps they should invest in the rooms too.

Food very poor, breakfast in particular was most disappointing. The drinks were good. They have a really stupid system for breakfast where the bread for toasting (there’s a pastry but no croissants or anything like that!) is in the corner of the buffet so you have to almost rejoin the queue and block the area to get your bread toasted. That was very poor planning.
In the bathroom they have a sign about think of the future in using less water. But the tap dripped non-stop! They ask you to open the window to air the room. We tried but there was no catch on it. We asked a chambermaid to help and she apologised that it couldn’t be opened! It was boiling so we had to put on the air con. This worked well but when you can open a window it’s obviously easier and better for the environment.
The chicken stir fry was given the thumbs up. The fish and chips is best avoided. Very expensive stay but if you can get it without breakfast do, it’s so disappointing. Oh, good Elemis toiletries. But the suites are in need of some TLC: scuffed wood, stains on the carpet. The communal areas are very plush however.

Tragically there was major construction going on under our room beginning at 7:30am when I brought it to the front desk and manager they apologized but no alternative room, explanation or even a discount was offered. Honestly I would have checked out and gone somewhere else. I understand sometimes construction and maintenance can be out of your control but even moving our room would have been acceptable. Unfortunately the situation was handled poorly and for that I can’t recommend and for price paid I would expect a higher level experience.

Wonderful hotel - arrived late and left early so didn’t see much besides room, lobby and breakfast. Although I did use the free self-service laundry which was appreciated (need to walk across street to buy detergent). Room is a little tight for 4 adults & luggage it very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average.

Terrible experience here. Shower head popped off and nearly hit my daughter when she first tried the shower and had to change rooms as no maintenance staff after 5pm to fix. Hotel was full of teenage soccer teams going around in gangs and ruining any chance of having a nice swim in leisure centre. Fire alarm went off at midnight for 10 mins waking everyone up. Tried to have shower the next morning at 7am and no hot water, person at reception said nothing could be done.

The check in and check out process was very smooth and it is located in a decent area, but that's where the good things I can say about this hotel end. They did not do a very thorough check of our room, because the sink was not draining and one of the lights intensly flickered when the power was turned on. The hot tub was also broken so we couldn't use that, but the pool seemed cool. The beds were generally uncomfortable and the sheets were not very soft, rather they were stiff. In spite of our reservation being for three people, they only gave us two sets of towels to use

I had stayed at this hotel before and it was great but this time everything changed. The breakfast is just ok. The bar and restaurant is quite nice. Food is average. My major complaint is they serve me a plate of old and dry dessert to my room which someone had ordered for me from USA. I left it outside my door. Well, I would not be recommending this place. They have too much business to care. So disappointed.

Clean, safe property. Access to the gym/hot tub facility was a bonus! to break up long commutes as we traveled throughout Ireland. On-site restaurant was lovely with great food including some irish based recipes served. Interesting history of hotel and this is close to many of the tourist sites including Blarney Castle. Highly recommend.

Overall, a fair stay. Not as nice as the pictures lead you to believe but it wasn't anything bad. Expected more of a \"luxury\" vibe and it was a pretty standard hotel, seemed a little outdated to be considered \"luxury\" at this point. Was pretty bummed because we stayed on a Sunday and the email didn't highlight the earlier closing time for the gym and sauna so we didn't get to experience those at all, which was a bummer. The washer/dryer room was also closed after a specific time, which didn't really make sense and was a bummer, since we were staying for a short time, as it was more of a \"stopping\" point for the night on our drive but was looking forward to relaxing in the sauna and getting fresh clothes, neither of which we got.

me and my family booked to stay one night and was a family room for 4 adults .However the room was only designed for two adults even do my booking clearly said 4 adults.

wete only had enough tea coffee for two people and towel were also on short supply as the were only 3 towels witch was quite disappointing concerning the room for the one night was expensive. The carpets in the hotel were poorly hovered .

I also drive an electric car with i would of liked it their was a facility to charge my car from a offical electric car charger but all this hotel could provide was outdoor sockets which would take my car a very long time to charge the battery from.

Giving the fact were all be pushed down the electric cars route all hotel should have official electric car chargers buy now.

Just a quick overnight stay at Castleroy. It was very reasonably priced for one night which was the draw as we were passing through Limerick. The rooms were average; clean & decently comfy . For a quick stay it was all we needed.

I gave a low rating because I slept so badly. I arrived after midnight and didn't realise my allocated room was next to a set of fire doors. They started banging back and forth just after 6am and sleep was effectively impossible after that. Worse still, when the cleaners started working, the doors were blocked open, so they clearly weren't required to be closed for safety reasons.

Otherwise, this is an old-fashioned hotel in lots of good ways. The staff are grown ups who seem to really want to work in hospitality. Breakfast was carefully prepared (poached eggs instead of the disgusting congealed scrambled eggs offered in so many places) albeit with few vegan or healthy options and watery coffee. The rooms are big and well maintained

Room was clean and updated in decor however some improvements needed. Tv is tiny and is not a smart tv which I think they could consider updating and some of the grouting in the bathroom is messy but these are only minor issues. Stayed overnight in this nice hotel. Service at the concierge and staff are friendly with pleasing personalities, clean environment. I booked for a double bedroom and was provided with same that’s wheelchair/ disabled people-friendly though myself and my husband does not need those service. A downside to my stay was the noise and sounds from people talking passing by the hallway- I can distinctly hear their topic of conversationas! Also, the music from the restaurant is filtering through the closed windows. I did not sleep well during my overnight stay! The walls need soundproofing if it wants to provide comfort to its guests.

I don’t know their names but a huge thank you to the guy on the front desk, who had a foreign accent, who made me a coffee at 5am when the kitchen was closed and a lovely girl in the restaurant who also made me a coffee the day before, when I needed to leave for work before breakfast was served. Kevin was also great in the bar, thank you!

This is a very large, busy and obviously popular hotel with close proximity to the Universal of Limerick. Spacious main floor has extensive seating areas with lounge, bar, restaurant and convention area. Staff was friendly and plentiful. It was very special to find a beautiful plate of chocolate and fruit patisseries on arrival to our room. The restaurant was fine, serving a full hot breakfast, but if you don't get there early enough your yogurt and pastry selection suffers. (Busy place!) They assigned us a wheelchair accessible room which gave me extra space for hanging clothes overnight that didn't dry in the single tiny washer/dryer machine that we had free access to. Bed was older and mattress firm but comfortable enough. Our room was nice and quite (except for other guests' noisy talking in the hallway). After 2 weeks traveling throughout Ireland we wanted to do laundry and had limited time. I was disappointed to find one small washer/dryer machine that staff already had towels going through. I found a seat to park in and wait my turn. Took forever and as I had little enough time, plus unfamiliarity with other area choices, was frustrating. (My cell phone died, limiting my situation greatly). But it was free to use, while the store across parking lot sold the detergent I bought for 5 euros. I would stay here again, the wiser.
