I stayed here for a couple of nights while travelling for work. Overall, it’s a good hotel — clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location. The check-in process was easy, with the option to check in prior to arrival and complete self check-in on site. A staff member was available and very helpful, which made for a smooth arrival experience.

The only real issue during my stay was with the restaurant. On entering, it wasn’t clear whether guests should wait to be seated, order at the bar, or just sit down. On the first night, I asked at the bar and was told to sit down, and while the food and overall experience were fine, I had to go up to pay my bill. The staff seemed friendly but were more focused on chatting with each other than on guests.

The second night was much worse. I walked in with no greeting, went to the bar to ask about ordering, and was told to sit down, but after waiting around 15 minutes with no acknowledgement, I had to go and ask to be served. The food tasted good, but the service really let it down. There seemed to be no structure or system in place — someone greeting and seating guests would make a big difference.

I also had to wait again to pay, eventually doing so at reception. I did receive an apology on checkout, which I appreciated, but overall the restaurant service needs improvement to match the otherwise high standards of the hotel.

A great spot to be able to walk into Limerick city centre, the on-site amenities are also good - sauna, pool, gym etc.

Declan on the front desk was very helpful in getting checked in and sorted for a nights stay. Would recommend this hotel.

It’s a 2 minute walk from one of the best restaurants in Limerick too, The French Table. Highly recommend.

Be aware of some issues

The room was not as advertised. There were no large windows or stylish bathroom as had been portrayed in the hotel’s photographs. The area around the hotel was very dirty with garbage. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and noise from the hotel bar reached us on the 9th floor. However, the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the hotel was well positioned to allow one to explore Limerick.

fabulous gem of a hotel in Limerick city, beds were super comfy & room was very quite, we availed of their late check out offer for €20 which left us sleep in until 1 p.m. check out which was brillilant. Also had bar food there & it was lovely. Staff were very friendly too.

My Stay at the Riverside Hotel.

The hotel was lovely. Check out at 11am is too short in the morning. There’s no plugs by the bed either. I was in 1006 and no plugs near the beds. There over on the tea side of the bedroom. The staff were lovely and pleasant. My pillow covers was dirty and not cleaned properly.

Food was very poor, waiting to be seated, although not busy and food took a considerable length of time to arrive, chips not fully cooked, veg cold and area we were seated was particularly cold. Staff dont have a clue, restaurant and bar is chaotic. The hotel was full of non paying guests that push past you to get for free what you pay for. The lifts had people in them that clearly dont pay and are dressed inappropriately. Non paying guests walking around with water bottles and plates with nuggets & chips everywhere, constantly. The spa and gym was worse than my council health center. Homeless people outside. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it.

Have stayed here several times and enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately they could not accommodate my 7 day visit, so I had to spend 2 days elsewhere (which I thoroughly enjoyed). Good pool/spa facilities (pool, whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym). I stayed in a king room with a lovely view of the river, comfortable beds, kettle BUT as a Canadian I was surprised by no fridge nor facecloths. Food and service in the bar/restaurant was excellent. However, my big complaint was that the internet was not working on the 7th floor. Despite 3 complaints to several individuals, the problem was only rectified by my 4th complaint on the morning of my 4th day -- upon my return to my room on my 4th evening, I was finally able to access the internet in my room. It was always accessible in the lobby. It's handy city centre location means that I will probably stay there again. I also tried to stay there for 7 days in July this past summer (tried to book 4 months in advance regarding a family wedding), but was advised that they only book 14-day stays during that time ... very disappointing.

I liked it's location and size. I didn't like that they don't offer a top sheet, so when it gets hot during the night, it's difficult to regulate room temperature and need to take off comforter to not swelter. Also, no washcloths or hairdryer.

This was an excellent hotel in an excellent location. Being by the river in Limerick is always a nice setting, but this hotel was in a particularly good spot. Just a block from Dolan’s Pub, a great place to take in some traditional Irish pub fair and some great traditional Irish music. Also just a couple blocks down from O’Connell street, the main shopping area in Limerick. Also, super close the South’s pub, where they filmed Angela’s Ashes!

Nearby parking garage was reasonably priced and a short walk around the corner.There were no washcloths in the towel collection, so it was awkward washing up with bath gel in our hands. Bring a cloth or bath pouf with you if you're accustomed to that sort of thing. Breakfast was generous and excellent. Coffe machine was a bit of a pain, as every cup for each person has to go through a single atuomated vending style contraption, rather than simply having a large pot of coffee with all the accoutrements on a counter to self-serve. 5 people standing in line for a simple cup of coffee in the morning takes about 15 minutes to run through. Have some in your room before coming down to breakfast.

The hotel was ok, check in was quick and easy. The room in the 12th floor was nice but there was a towel placed on the window to soak up water so not sure if leaking or condensation. It was a windy night and I could hear the wind whistling at the windows all night. The evening meal was poor, the meal was just about hot enough and I waited 20 minutes for my dessert it only arrived when I asked about it and when it arrived it was not what I ordered. The car parking is expensive when €8.50 for one night so many hotels with free parking in the area.

Hotel is modern, and very clean. Staff were really nice and helpful. Food was really good in the bar/grill. Room was a good size and bed very comfy.
Only small issue was seals on windows letting in a draught… but i stayed during a storm and was on the 11th floor 😂😂 so can forgive it. Next time I’m in limerick I’ll be staying here.

Wonderful View from Room and Pool!

We stayed a long weekend in Executive King Room. It was well worth off-season price for the larger room, higher floor with amazing view of the River Shannon towards City Centre/Castle, Their Covid protocols are quite thorough and we felt comfortable and safe. Thei fabulous pool is great for laps, pool exercises, and just relaxing in the bulb out while looking at the view of river. The dinner at their Bar & Grill on our first night was delicious. We did have a few challenges, primarily as result of Covid.
1. Being directed to pre-book pool time at least 5 days in advance through the the online reservation system because plans easily change. The online reservations are all booked up in advance for the weekends, except during dinnertime.
2. The dining service was not up to par for a 4-star hotel. They need more staff on busy weekend evenings. We had long lag times between various wait staff following back with us for our next orders, As well as the bottle of wine we ordered when we ordered our meals was overlooked. We were seated near enough to bar that the bartender was able to step in and help out twice, which we appreciated.
3. We followed their Covid policy to decline housekeeping for health/safety by putting out their do not disturb (\"We are Still Sleeping\") sign. However we never received the fresh towels or toilet paper requested on third day is they could leave a plastic bag outside our room with the requested items inside to keep safe.
We still do recommend hotel!
