The hotel failed to inform of events taking place in the hotel. The hotel was overrun by noisy children who were allowed to run around screaming and shouting through the hotel unchecked. Bistro and restaurant booked up. No food options nearby. Very unpleasant stay.

This is a wedding venue. The food reminded me of a casino. It’s not conveniently located and has no shuttle into town. The grounds were overgrown and there was a lot of dog poop on the walking path which is only a ring around the cow pastures. The place was overrun with school children and wedding guests. Our room was neither well appointed nor clean. The beds were saggy and soft. This place was expensive!

They host a lot of weddings and events. We noticed a lot of serving equipment and decor sitting in the hallway as you walked up the stairway to go to the rooms. They do not have an elevator, so it is tough going to get heavy suitcases up stairs. They do have a walking trail and petting zoo behind the property.

Very friendly family run hotel, clean, staff helpful, lots of activities for kids. The only slightly negative feedback was meal service was slow, most likely due to the hotel changing it’s mealtime policies to ensure staff and guest safety during pandemic. Nevertheless, we had a great stay here (kids loved the hotel) and will definitely return. Many thanks to all at this hotel - we look forward to seeing you again.

Before booking we had looked at pictures of the spa and it looked great. What we observed was totally different though. The spa needs pre booking (not just for treatments). As soon as I realised this I called the spa from our room telephone. There was no answer therefore I left a voicemail requesting a call back which never occurred. After a couple of hours I walked to the spa and was told they were fully booked for the whole weekend.
We had to make do with access to the fitness centre which contained a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool.
The fitness centre was dreadful and wasn’t at all what you’d expect from a 4 star property. The room that contained the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was old and in bad need of repair. It looked like it hadn’t been painted in 20 years. The jacuzzi itself had multiple yellow stains which was off putting. Beside the jacuzzi there was an electrical unit that was exposed and looked dangerous. The steam room was noisy and had a bad smell. I didn’t try the sauna as the other experiences were so bad. The pool was fine and was a nice temperature.
My girlfriend had a hair appointment in the salon and returned quite upset after extremely rude remarks were made by staff.
Overall a terrible experience. What was planned as a relaxing weekend turned into a nightmare. We won’t be back!

Fabulous choice for a stay in Adare, Ireland
We stayed at Fitzgerald’s Woodland’s guest house for one night of a three week driving trip in Ireland and what a fantastic choice! The room was spacious, comfortable, wonderfully decorated and the WIFI connection was grand. The property is lovingly cared for and well maintained with plenty of secure parking on the front side of the property. Breakfast was fabulous and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property is within a short mile or two distance to downtown restaurants and other historical sites with easy access for day trips from the location. I would highly recommend Fitzgerald’s to all visitors and look forward to visiting again.

This was a very nice place to stay. The had everything you would need to enjoy your stay ie: clean large rooms, a pool and workout room, a lovely bar and restaurant and a picturesque setting. The staff was warm and friendly and ready to assist you. I would stay here again when in Ireland.

Disaster of a stay.
For a hotel that advertises free wifi, this was only available if you wanted to connect in reception. The TV in the room didn't work and even the house maid couldn't start it. Maintenance failed to show up with a replacement TV, therefore no entertainment in the room to boot. I was in room 519 which was directly above the spa, therefore music was audible until 11pm and began again at 7am.

I stayed here for a friend's wedding. The staff were so nice and the room was gorgeous. Breakfast the next day was so lovely and better than your normal hotel breakfast. U used the thermal suite in the spa which was amazing! The surrounding area is beautiful.

This is a lovely hotel, I was sorry only to be staying one night. Check in was very efficient and the room was lovely. Bathroom was a little 'tired ' but spotless. Dinner in the bistro and breakfast were both well cooked and tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were in an unrenovated room with the worst bed ever. Why they could have move a better (I'm sure there must have been some from the renovation) bed in there was a mystery to me. There was a dip 6\" deep in the middle of the bed right at back position. When we complained to the Manager on Duty we didn't even get an \"I'm sorry\".

I really could not have been more pleased with the service and the dinner. I stayed in one of the rooms overnight and was very happy with the room and the great breakfast the next morning. My two young grandchildren enjoyed the children's activities, such as looking for fairies on the grounds using special \"fairy dust\" given to them by the hotel staff.

Hotel well maintained. Loved the family room both our children had separate single beds. Very comfortable, spacious ans beautifully decorated hotel. You can tell that the owner believes in keeping the hotel in prime condition and not wait until things are shabby, well done. The leisure center pool was wonderful. The breakfast and dinner outstanding. The children made us promise that next time we visit Ireland, we must book The Fitzgerald Woodland for an extended stay.

The minute we walked in, I just wanted to turn around and leave. The lobby was crowded, noisy kids running down the hallways and banging the vending machine. The room had a weird smell which never went away, big spider behind the TV. It was hard to fall asleep because we could hear every single word of our next door neighbor‘s conversation. The shower temperature was unpredictable, it could go from burning hot to freezing cold in one second. The bathroom needs some major works.
We stayed two nights. Breakfast buffet was ok. The second night we decided to eat at the restaurant because we had an early flight the next morning and didn't want to stay out late. The food was alright, nothing special, but the Service was horrible. We saw our waitress twice the entire meal, first when she took our orders, second time when she brought coloring paper for my kids without any crayons. We had to track her down to ask for our bill, then she stopped to chat with her friend on her way to the register. Twenty minutes later, we we had to ask another waiter to bring our bill.
Checking out was nightmare. We booked and paid for everything through expedia. Never charged anything to the room so we could just drop the key cards off and leave to catch the early flight. The guy at the front desk was new, our bill had room Service charges and we were billed for our stay even though it was already paid for. He offered to charge my credit card and refund Me later, which i refused. WTH?!!!!

I have stayed at the Woodlands House hotel, on average 3/4 times a year over the past 4 years. On this recent visit a member of staff did not acknowledge me in the corridor as we passed. She was not rude in anyway, she just didn't say hello or good morning or anything. It took me a while to work out why this stood out to me as living in London passing people with no reaction is a daily occurrence, but this stood out as over all the visits over the past 4 years this is the first member of staff I can recall who did not say hello or good morning as they went about doing their jobs and we passed by. This is the only negative point I can think of about the Woodands, and it isn't even really a point worth raising. The hotel is very well run, clean, comfortable, great facilities, big, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, excellent customer serice and very friendly and helpful staff. The 5 star hotel a mile up the road could learn a lot from the Woodlands.

I was impressed with the Fitzgeralds Woodlands, I wasn't expecting the rooms to be as comfortable and the beds.....they were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel. I would like to know where the hotel got its toppers? We ate in the hotel on our arrival evening and our meal was just top class. We were there to use the Spa the next day which is always top class but the fantastic experience we had in the hotel as well made it all the better. Many thanks.

OK stay at this hotel but a little run down and did not live up to the pictures on the web. Also, far enough outside the small town of Adare that you had to drive. Interesting place for kids, though, as there is a small group of barnyard animals that live in a pen at the end of the hotel parking lot. Fun to watch.

Upon arrival we were singled out and warmly welcomed by the Manager although the hotel was extremely busy with a large wedding party at the time. Check-in was efficiently handled by the friendly and informative receptionist. Room was spacious, spotless and located on a quiet corridor which ensured a restful night's sleep.We dined in the Bistro and cdnt praise the staff highly enough. Quality and value for money of both food and wine on offer was excellent.We'll definitely be back!

The bed in our room had such a dip in the middle that my husband could not sleep at all and had staff bring in a new cot type bed in the middle of the night. Not much sleep was had by any that evening.

Beautiful little hotel outside of Adaire. We stayed only 1 night, but it was the best of the hotels we stayed at in Ireland while on vacation. Everyone was very friendly! The breakfast was outstanding! Would definitely stay again!
