This place has rooms with stop work orders due to asbestos. There's a shelter behind the motel, causing troubled people to be shooting up in the parking lot. I, as well as others I talked to were fooled by (likely) fake Expedia reviews. All the patrons had a nice little gathering at 2am in the parking lot due to a vehicle fire that spread to the building. Beware, this is a sketchy neighbourhood.

2 x pest repellers in the room. Pillows were flatter than cardboard. Blankets were thinner than a sheet of paper. A room on the first floor had keep out danger- asbestos tape on it, not very inspiring for the other rooms. Surrounding area was full of addicts & sketchy looking people. Otherwise, staff were very friendly.

It was a faded beauty. Seen better days and in a sketchy area. The manager / person who checked me in was really great and he tried hard, but if you have any phobias about sticky floors and handles… I would look elsewhere. Huge plus was that the shower had great pressure and didn’t seem to fluctuate in temperature much.

This is an older motel and it looks it. The room I had was dingy looking with stale air. Although I didn’t actually smell any smoke odours it was easy to tell this room had a smoking history. The toilet seat was very loose and there was a persistent drip in the bathtub. Also, there was no hairdryer. On the bright side the king size bed was very comfortable with fresh linens and towels and the hdtv had numerous channels including a few premium ones. The room was spacious and the air conditioner was quiet. The staff was great.

We reserved 4 rooms for 11 people. 4 rooms are all clean and very good for this price! Ppl said there have bed buds we didnt experience this at all. Every thing is good and also friendly staff! The deposit for the rooms also return to my card on the same day we checked out!!! We will definitely come back to this

The homeless people on the streets made us feel very uneasy. The restaurant looked like it's been closed for years. And at the base of the stairs to go up to our room, there was a cordoned off room that was shut down for asbestos. Our room wreaked of Febreeze, which was a little nauseating, but the bed sheets were very clean and comfortable and the room was actually quite spacious. The $200 damage deposit seemed very high as well, which took me by surprise upon checking in. Cheap, yes, but the photos on the booking site are very misleading as to the condition of the actual premises. That lobby looks nothing like the picture.

We found a bed bug in one of our rooms, which was very concerning. Attempts to contact the property office went unanswered, and it appeared closed throughout our stay. There was no on-site support. The surrounding area also felt uncomfortable to walk around at night due to activity in the parking lot. Overall, the stay raised concerns about cleanliness, communication, and safety.

Room was pretty gross. At first I thought it was just run down and could use a new coat of paint but on closer inspection there was dirt/debris on the floors, hair in the shower and bathroom floor, toilet wasn’t clean, sink wasn’t clean, old potato chips on the floor and on the shelf above the fridge, holes in the walls like fists, smeared
Oily stuff on the tv screen, stains on the walls and floors. I didn’t want to take my shoes off because the floors looked so disgusting, the room smelled like stale fabreeze. The only good thing was that the king sized bedsheets actually looked and seemed clean and the air conditioning worked and helped clear out the gross stale febreeze smell. I do not recommend this place. The photos of the room on the website are misleading, the room we got was nothing like the photos.

Fridge did not work. Poop stuck to the outside of the toilet. Black mold behind the toilet and sink. We had two homeless people drinking outside our room at the table and chairs out front which we told the front desk when morning cam one was passed out on the table. Called to ask for the manager or manager and was told manager was away for the next couple day but would get him to call. After a few days we did not hear back and we called them was told the manager was not still not available, the desk person asked and we told her about what we found and asked us to send the pictures to her which we did. Again we never had a return call so we called again and was told that the manager was still not around. The health board should be contacted

The shower did not work, and I found that out in the morning when I went to shower. The office was not open at that hour so there was no assistance. The hpur 830AM. No shower and I am traveling for the next day. It was not functioning when I got the room, come on. No apology, nothing, send us a picture.

I do not recommend staying there. Our room smelled so strongly of cigarettes and the bathroom stunk of mold which you could clearly see all around the tub/shower too. The outside of the motel had a room with caution tape taping it off. Police were rolling in to check on people who were obviously living there. I did not feel safe and as soon as we woke up we left immediately.

The motel was quite run down on the exterior. The interior seemed clean, unusual handprint on the wall & no hot water. My brother's family also had a room that somehow smelled mike smoke from a room below them. No staff to help with the situation amd they had an 18 month old.

Many homeless around and in/out parking lot. Didnt feel super safe to be honest.

A lot of homeless people around. Their staff left at 10 pm, and a homeless person was shouting and caused an issue, so we called the police. Very poor condition, and not clean. The worst stay we have had. Do not stay at Duncan and this motel.

Well say this, i rented the place on line left my bags in room went to visit a friend who lives in the same town. He asked were id be staying. And thats as far as i got he wkuldntliw me to spend the night he luces down road and has lived in duncan long enough to know. He tells me its unsafe the honeless.hangout there in pekinglits and apparently the hotel takes them in at night so apparently theres alot of fights drugs and most of all your gonna get robbed .hs wouldnt let me go back even for my bags without him. Also. They say on line they take dogs. I got there to check in my plan was to leave my dog at my friends while i did what i came there for then i asked the ladies at front desk if it would be ok if i can walk my dog in and out of room tied around my waist as i walk bags in to room from the truck rather than him barking at me everyti.e i walked into the room he will bark all i wanted was to have my dog on leash maybe 3feet inside the room foor so i could do it quietly and the girl said no.but as u turned away and to leave once i did ask there was a sign that said please let front desk know if u have ur pets with u and i bookeda pet friendly room

First time in my life I had to call the police while staying at a hotel. Some guy banging on my door and yelling that wouldn't leave. I canceled all my plans for the weekend and left. Didnt even get a full refund!! Never stay in this awful place.

The room was ok but the parking lot when I pulled up was disgusting and dirty…homeless people sleeping on ground all around hotel. Didn’t feel safe there at all. When I started the tub the water came out dirty at first which is a pretty big turn off. Won’t stay here again.

Motor Inn that has seen better days

The Thunderbird Motor Inn is old and shows it. Bathtub tax dripped, vanity taps were loose, cleaning was superficial, security minimal. Motel is also in an area where there are many homeless people. They caused no problem for us but it wasn’t a comfortable area to walk. Staff were very helpful and responsive, but there wasn’t much they could do. After we left, my wife discovered her cell phone was missing and we went back to the Motel to see if it had been left there. Staff were very helpful to us as we searched (unsuccessfully) for the phone. We later found it packed in a suitcase (oops) but want to thank the staff (office and cleaning) who helped us look for it.

Desk not open 24 h was closed at 9:15 am on a weekday. Bad area lots of homeless. Room not cleaned when requested. Staff entered when do not disturb sign was on and touched our belongings, huge invasion of privacy, front desk staff rude and not helpful if they even bother showing up or answering phone. Local amenities closed/in poor condition.

The room was okay. Location is good with several restaurants in walking distance. The negative is that the owner (I think) stood outside our door in the morning talking to another guest for a long time. It was loud and we could hear every word. I had to open the door and tell them to go talk somewhere else.

The front desk clerk wasn’t very friendly, we were early for check in and she told us our room wasn’t ready, while we were outside waiting the cleaning maid asked us what room we were in, I told her I didn’t know and that they said it wasn’t ready, she said don’t worry I will check to see and get it ready for you, she was very friendly and helpful.
