The only good thing I can say about this property was the man at the front desk. He was very kind and unstanding when after going to my room and seeing how awful it was he was understanding that I couldn't stay there. The room was old and very run down. The bed had cigarette burns and stains all over it, along with many hairs in the sheets. The bathroom was stained and dirty looking. The door to the room had a huge gap under it that all kinds of critters could crawl under it. I did not feel safe there and left to find another hotel to stay at. I am shocked this place is listed on Expedia!

. The customer service is horrible. The night clerk had a very disgraceful attitude. I called her about my tv not working, her response was “Ok” then hangs up the phone. Then I called back to see if I got a better response but it was only “OK.. what you want me to do? Then hangs up again. The microwave didn’t work, towels were dirty, baby roaches crawling in bathroom along with other bugs.

Nice room for the most part, comfy bed, hot shower, friendly service. Woken up around 6:20 am to another customer trying to use her card key on my door and management assisting her. Not sure why the staff didn’t immediately recognize they had the wrong door. My room did show signs of water damage in the vicinity of the shower head and above the mirror over the sink. Also, the tab handle bar was missing, the drain stopper was sitting on the shower wall shelf, and both the entry and bathroom doors had been damaged at some point in the past. I took photos and shared with management, who looked surprised.

It's an old motel wich was painted on the outside for the looks. Lobby was redone but all the rest should have been changed. It looks awfull. I have been in much nicer Econo lodge.

The property is run down. There is an 8ft wide pot hole as you enter. The bed was not comfortable. The pool has stopped up liner so that is not in use. I saw the police come to the property 3 different times in one night. Thought I would give it a try but won’t be back

The stay was nice - we were moved from one leaky room to another, but wasnt really upset about it....didn't really blame the staff. I have no real complaints - good tv package, normal clean rooms, good showers, and was quiet. Only thing i would say is not enough pillows in the room but that's it.

This place is a great stay! Clean rooms besides a pinkish stain on one of the blankets, but didnt come off as dirty just random. Full directv and great quality picture. Good microwave and fridge. The staff is kind and they give you your privacy. There is a lot of food choices nearby. Overall, just a nice experience.

Pool was closed, vending machien was completly empty, gym was not 24 hours like advertised and got eaten up by something. Also on our second night there we got woken up by a crash in our room. And found that the headboard on the wall behind our heads had fallen down. Luckly it just slid down in between the bed and the wall.

My stay was for business purposes. I arrived late at night and left early. The room was clean and comfortable. Albeit the hotel was obviously an older one, the room was clean and everything worked fine. Both front desk clerks with whom I had interactions, were friendly and professional. I do have to say that, even though I arrived too late to use the pool, it was not only out of service, but also served as a large frog pond.

Filthy, horrible service.

This was by far, the most filthy hotel I have ever stayed in. The bathtub was filthy. The shower curtain was gross. The towels were threadbare had a Holiday Inn logo tag; comical!) The sheets had stains. The photos on the hotel website showed a coffee maker, there was none. There was an ironing board, but no iron. Not, one, single coat hanger. No housekeeping, bed was never made. I was charged $86 per room (2rooms) and when I made a polite complaint, I was told ‘no refunds and I was literally screamed at by not one, but two managers. The chair was filthy, with stains. There was no clock or phone. It was a hideous room; a $40 room, at best, yet I was charged $82 dollars. The ice maker had mold growing on the dispenser. The snack machine was completely empty. The was garbage piled in front of my room for 3 days. Cigarette butts everywhere. My credit card was billed and after being told no refunds, I had little choice to find another hotel. The website offered free breakfast, which was non-existent. The pool was atrocious.

Expedia agent lied to me and told me there was no availability at the Holiday inn express down the street. I was in this room for 15min. Smelled like stale smoke. Doors were not secure and I did not feel safe so I left room 114.

I ended up booking my own room at the Holiday in. Express.


Disappointed with Expedia's customer service and morals lying to customers to save Expedia money!

For the location (Forest City/Spindale) and the price per night, I was blown away. I thought for sure with how cheap it was there would at least be roaches in the rooms? But they were very clean, staff was friendly, and I would be happy to stay again. However, just know going into it that this isn’t the Hilton or some other upscale hotel, it’s affordable, and they do this very well.

Go somewhere eles. Its not worth the $ you save.

Dirty. The sheets were stained. The tub was filthy. The toilet had hair and dust snd a smear on it. The towels had a brown substance on them. We had rude neighbors who were loud. Didn't help the walls are thin. When i go there it was technically the next day from my reservation and they couldn't check me in without staring a new reservation.

Bed smells like BO place is a dump

This place is a dump. There were bugs in the bathroom, bed smelled like BO. Half an inch of daylight under the door. Security lock on door didn’t work. Window sill rotted, curtain tattered. They won’t let you in the lobby for security reasons. When I told them I was unhappy and checking out early (the next day) they refused to refund all of the nights I didn’t stay. I found an ABB $20 a night cheaper, and they earned my 5 star review.

We were set to check in on a Friday. I took my daughters to Dollywood for the day & planned to stay here because one child had a dance competition the following day & it was closer to the town we needed. While at the park the lady from the hotel called me stating she had no one to work 3rd shift & was leaving at 9pm for the night & needed us there asap. We had a 2.5hr drive to the hotel. We immediately left the theme park & drove straight to the hotel. No bathroom or food stops. After getting checked in & going in the room, no lights worked in the room except the bathroom lights. There was no remote for the tv. The towels, wash cloths & bedding were stained with what appeared to be black grease. This morning the shower wouldn't come on so my daughters couldn't take a shower before the competition. The knob just kept spinning like something was stripped inside. This is the worst experience I've ever had a hotel in my life & we travel alot.

This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever been. The place was run down and our room had been made but NOT cleaned. There was hair on the sheets and pillowcases, fresh blood stains on the bed cover and the room had been smoked in. The door was beaten up as if someone tried breaking in. I was required to pay a $100 deposit in addition to the cost of the room. The deposit was to cover any damage we made to the room during our stay and if we smoked in the room. Obviously we canceled the room and the deposit was refunded. Also upon our arrival the computer was down and we were asked to come back later. The desk staff was nice but highly incompetent to be running a motel.

Econo Lodge did not have anyone at the front desk 24/7. Second night my key card did not work on my room. Luckily, I found someone who worked and lived on property to let me into my room. I had to hunt down personnel to check out.

Also, I had to put down a $100 deposit, which I did not know about. They were able to place on my card. I am waiting for it to be returned on my card.

Do not stay here, the rooms are rented out long term to the local homeless population. Nothing personal against these folks, but the hotel had the feel of low-income apts. Building is in poor condition, bathroom is horrible, walls crumbling around shower, etc. Walls were so thin I could 'smell' & 'hear' the 'party' going on all night looooong, got very little 'needed' sleep.

Arrived later so had to ring the bell and waited for 10+ min for someone to come help me. When my ccard was taken for a deposit it was ridden down on a sticky note. I asked why …I said I want that shredded pls. I drove around looking for my room. The security lights outside were blinking or not working. There looked to be some sketchy business and characters in the parking lot which made me feel unsafe. I didn’t not stay one more min or walk into my room. I went and made another reservation and stayed at the baymont down the road.

THE WORST place I have stayed in my entire life! Front door had a sign directing guests to check in at the night window, but when you get to the window you're waved to the front door. A refundable deposit was required at check in. Language was a slight hindrance. Building and grounds filthy. In general walkway was a rolling trash can full and overflowing. Room looked normal until finding several roaches on the bathroom walls. Told staff to clean bathroom and spray while we were gone to dinner. When we came back we found our room door open. Luckily our computers etc. were still there. Since there was already limited rooms in town, due to the event we attended, we had no option but deal with and get out of there at first light. Forgot the outdoor swimming pool was full green water and frogs. The property should be demolished!

This hotel was conveniently located for my weekend biking event. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean except for the carpet. Overall, the hotel was a good value for the price. It could use some ongoing renovation to the outside as well as routine maintenance to the rooms. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

This hotel is no fit to stay. It started will the woman at the front desk, when she spoke to all groups who were doing a Spartan race if the towel were dirty with red clay (which is normal in NC and very hard to remove even after taking a shower ) we would pay an additional fee. On arrival to our room, the door was wide open and there was a man above doing sometimes because there was water? dripping in front of the door. There was dead lava, the bathroom door would not close, shower handle was broken, comforters were missing, They only were left, which had blue paint on it, the rug wet and dirty which left dirt on the bottom of our socks, feet, and towels. The room was so bad I feel I should get my money.
