Was at Governor Calvert House. Beautiful historic building that is well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking is minimal, and valet parking is quite expensive, with \"dynamic pricing\". Hotel is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

The room really showed its age. The entire room was tilted.... so much so that a bottle rolled on the floor from the left to the right without any push. The bed was likewise tilted and really difficult to sleep comfortably. The elevator was out of order, and there were older guests on the 3rd floor that had to carry all their bags up the stairs..... it was not easy on them. The proximity to Main Street was spectacular, but the rest of the stay was very MEH

This is a beautiful old historic hotel in the heart of Annapolis. It is the perfect central location if doing work with the MD General Assembly - adjacent to the Statehouse and just a block from legislator offices. You are also within a couple blocks of Main Street which full of small bars, restaurants, and businesses near the water, and just a little bit farther from the commercial district on the west side of town. I’ve used this hotel for years and staff is always friendly and professional and rooms are cleaned daily. They also have concierge parking services right out front of hotel (as there is no hotel parking lot except underground). Their event space downstairs is very nice and busy multiple times of day during the legislative session.

THis is the second time in a row staying here bith times they placed my room on the court yard while I had to listen to loud music form a wedding being heald to late in the evening. AAlso both times our room was not cleaned with new towls etc. When I noticed after 5:00 PM the hotel just asid sorry nothing we can do as house keeping has left for the day. zfurther more there is lack of hot water and the bathrooms are completely outdsted. I will never stay here again and even you you pais me to stay here I would pass

The room was in good condition, and the staff was responsive and efficient. We appreciated the welcome text message. We discovered that one of our card keys didn't work. We were able to text the staff who quickly sent a replacement to us. There were several things about the property that we found disappointing. While we appreciate the age of the building, our room was very \"drafty\" and poorly insulated. You could hardly stand on the bathroom floor it was so cold. There was a heater (steam?) outside our room that sounded like someone banging pots and pans when it turned off. I ultimately resorted to earplugs. That didn't make for very restful nights. Finally, the elevator was inoperable on Sunday (our day to checkout). There was a sign saying it was out of order for \"routine maintenance\". That caused us to have to drag out luggage down 4 flights of stairs. I'm guessing Sundays are one of the biggest days for checkout, and I'm not sure why routine elevator maintenance would be scheduled during that time.

Due to the history and age of this beautiful bldg, we expected relatively dated rooms. Much to our surprise, the room was clean, spacious and modern. This is one of the most pleasurable experiences I ever have had not only in Annapolis, but anywhere.

The hotel did not have any water, thus could not go to the bathroom, shower, etc. While I understand this situation was out of their control, they didn’t even offer guests any options or seem to care of this enormous inconvenience.

Minor cons- reception was going on and the party was very loud with lots of reverb/bass going through the walls

Shower turn on handle was backwards - “hot” setting put out cold water and vice versa
Maid came to clean at 9 am and we asked her to come back in an hour. Room was never cleaned.

Upon entering the entire stay was a 10. The valet, seperate, were very courteous.
The front desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
The hotel was decorated for Christmas and was very festive.
The room was clean and very roomy.
The location could not have been better, directly across from the State Capital building and a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance..including the Naval Academy.
We are coming back next year for another Christmas in Annapolis.

This was a cool place to stay; historic and right in downtown Annapolis. It’s historic no frills place. It is an Inn not a hotel. There is no front desk attendant and no room service, no breakfast; so if you need something, get it early yourself or from the place you check in. It has a haunted reputation about town, which is why we stayed there. A couple of little things happened to us, but nothing major. Overall we would stay here again.

Amazing location in a cute historic building!!! It wasn’t perfect - my tv didn’t work (I never contacted the front desk about it so I’m sure they would have fixed it if I’d given them the chance), the room was small (it was just me so I didn’t mind), not perfectly cleaned….but that being said, I would 100% stay here again if I come up to Annapolis again! The location couldn’t be beat, the building itself was really cool, the front desk staff was super nice, they give you a little bottle of wine to enjoy, the bed and pillows were comfy. I truly loved my time here and hope I get to come back again!!!

The bed was NEVER made properly. A king bed with queen bedding does not work. After numerous attempts to get front desk and housekeeping to address this problem, it was never done right. It became obvious that housekeeping does not care about customer satisfaction or doing the work properly.

The shower valve is broken and no one was remotely concerned. They even set up a maintenance dide to turn on and off the shower for us. Now this is ridiculous.

Overall it was a horrible stay at the Johnson House. Never ever again.

The rooms are pretty, but the shower handle only allowed for cold or lukewarm water, and the in room coffee provided pods with a drip coffee maker. Ongoing construction near the hotel made parking a mess, which included a 45-minute wait for the car. Having said that, the location was perfect for downtown walking
