Breakfast was diverse and the restaurant had a good view, but the facility was old, the dryer was not working well, the shower was not fixed, so it was uncomfortable. The rest was fine.

I can confidently say that of all the hotels I've been to in my entire life, this was the worst hotel I've ever experienced, and I usually go to a lot of hotels.
Very uncomfortable bed and mattress.
The chair in the room was broken and it was even hard to find an electrical outlet to charge my cell phone.

Our checkin was easy & someone helped bring up our bags, which was really great. Nice place to stay, but there was a dirty towel on the back of the door when we arrived, & that grossed us out a bit. Everything else was good & we were comfortable.

The area is good , dinning area with view perfect. Rooms are average . Main problem we suffered from lots of mosquitos bites from inside the rooms and in the lobby needs to be take care . One of us ended up to start antibiotics due to sever bug bites on her leg While she was sitting in the lobby for taxi to the airport

I spent 2 nights at Sidonya. I had a double room that was small but efficient for 1 person. The bathroom and shower was very small, almost uncomfortable to take a shower but not too bad. The room was decently clean however it definitely could have been much cleaner. This hotel is on a very loud street so it was hard to sleep. It is close to major locations in Kadikoy but keep in mind most taxis will not drive up to the hotel, so expect a walk up a hill with your luggage. I enjoyed the breakfast the most during my stay, good food options and lovely view of the sea. Overall a good hotel for budget options.

This was my second stay at the hotel. It's good for it's price, the location is perfect, and I loved the breakfast. The service, however, wasn't good this time. I asked for a wake-up call because I had to take a morning flight. They never did.

The room we booked was a family room with 2 beds and sleeps 3. The front desk did give us the exact room we booked when we checked in. However, the next day the lady asked for more money. She said that we only booked for a room that sleeps 1. They did not tell us when we checked in, and we felt maybe there is something wrong with the Orbitz booking system so we contacted the Orbitz customer service. The customer service took very long, the lady yelled us very rude that we had been sitting in the lobby for an hour and we either had to pay the extra money or leave the hotel. Wt*?! We booked the non-refundable 2 days stay. There was still one day left. We also did not say we were not gonna pay. We just wanted to figure out what happened because we clearly did book family room.
This was the worst experience we had in our entire life at a hotel. We were 2 foreigner girls and don't speak turkish. We felt she was taking advantage of this and threatening us. We did end up paying the extra because orbitz refused to refund the one day stay if we decided to leave the hotel.
Oh btw, we were asked to pay much more than the difference of the two rooms if booking online.
We stayed in a few other hotels in Istanbul and their service was profesional and breakfast was much better. There were still hair in the bathroom and strong cigarette smell from bedding that embedded to my hair. Stay away from this hotel!

A comfortable & well-priced stay; poor wifi

A great stay overall, a comfortable spacious room, a sumptuous breakfast with a stunning view, a convenient central location. The wifi in my room, however, was quite week, could hardly use it on my laptop. Also, the reception person wasn't that helpful during the check-in: didn't provide any information about the wifi login and breakfast hours.

A wonderful 3 nights away with a friend. Perfect hotel. Very clean. Hotel room cleaned daily. Nice location. Breakfast again with a lovely view and a large selection to choose from. Have already booked to go back. If you want to see the real Kadikoy and all it's beautiful offering then here's the place to start.

Location, service, (WiFi 100%) is great. Staffs are very helpful, friendly, and caring. Our stay was during COVID19. Place is very clean and beautiful. Bus, metro, IDO ferry boat to bursa and to Izmir, and local ferry boats are in walking distance. Shops and great foods nearby. It was our second stay at this hotel. I recommend to stay at this hotel.

I do not recommend this hotel at all.

2 cockroaches in the shower cabin, pillows are not comfortable, the walls in the room are damp and the paint is falling off. The room for 3 people ( extra bed) does not look like on the ad picture. In reality it is quite small. The view from the window is not attractive as it was shown on the website. The view from the restaurant is the ugly roofs.

It’s a very affordable hotel in the heart of the busy kadikoy district. It’s got the convenience of restaurants (range of quality and prices, multiple food places and not far from some western pubs.

The hotel room I stayed in didn’t have a kettle for coffee/tea which is a first. The tv they had was really small which is strange for 2019. It wouldn’t cost much to upgrade.

The staff could smile more.

The breakfast is really good with scenic views on the 5 th floor.

All in its worth the money however a few upgrades would make it a lot better.

Excellent location, comfortable rooms, clean and good housekeeping, good value breakfast, and spectacular views from the the top floor breakfast/dining room. The only negative; cigarette smell coming into the rooms, as there's no restrictions on smoking. A good policy and management of this problem can attract even a higher rating for this hotel.

Description of hotel and city

Hotel is near business sector of Asia side of Istanbul. Transportation by metro, ferry, taxi and bus
availible and close. to get to Euro side. Most people not fluent in English. Very pleasent atmosphere
and friendly. Hotel is old but in good enough condition for cheaper stay than a Hilton or other larger
chain. Staff speaks English. Restaurants are plentiful and food and goods on Asia side are cheaper than Euro side. Had an amazing time and would recommend trip. Plan to visit again.
Plenty of historic sites to visit.

We were only able to stay one night due to a fire at the Rome Airport that forced us to stay at the Rome Airport for 2 days. The hotel was situated right in the heart of the city in the Asian side of Istanbul. Able to see the ferries going to the European side of Istanbul. The area was great for walking due to closure of some streets for only pedestrians. Great food and very friendly people.

Sidonya Hotel

Nice 3* hotel on the Asian side of Istanbul. The Hotel is undergoing a complete refurbishment, but his did not affect my stay as work is carried out during the day when most guests would be out of the Hotel. The only drawback is that it takes a cheap ferry ride to get to the main tourist spots but this adds to the tourist experience. The Hotel itself is clean, comfortable, with good food and very helpful staff. It does a very good free breakfast buffet from the restaurant on the top floor which has fantastic views over the harbour to the Golden Horn of Istanbul. I'm surprised rooms were so reasonably priced. taxis from the hotel are very cheap by western standards. There are lots of local shops, (including jewellers), where the prices are ridiculously cheap so, if you don't like haggling the Asian side is the place to be.

We really liked this hotel. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. The room was small but comfortable. The hotel is located about halfway up a fairly steep hill. This makes for a good view from the bedroom window. The ferry harbor is at the foot of the hill. The hotel has an intimate atmosphere that cannot be obtained at larger Hilton/Holiday Inn types of places.

Great access for transportation and nice view

It has great access for transportation, such as perry, bus, airport bus. You can use perry, going to Europe side. And it's easy to ride on airport bus to Sabia airport. And the view of the restaurant is nice. You can see great view at the restaurant during breakfast.

good location, near ferry terminals, buses, shopping. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast on rooftop terrace. My primary disappointment in this hotel is that although the rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, and the signage says no-smoking, the room was very smoky. Not nice. For this reason I would not return, nor recommend this hotel.

Det har været en ren værelse, som er aller vigtigste for mig. Personale var hjælpsom. Det eneste der var irriterende var at man kunne høre alt fra nabo værelser, men tænker på det også er normalt da det er en gammel bygning. Placering er rigtigt godt sted hvis man vil se det vigtigste steder i Istanbul.
Alt i alt har det været et godt ophold i 4dage.

Dejlig oplevelse. Bedste placering i hele Istanbul efter min mening. Kadiköy er en fantastisk bydel, og på dette hotel ligger man lige ned til vandet med mulighed for at tage færgen rundt som virker virkelig godt! Alt i alt god pris, fantastisk lokation, dejligt værelse og godt personale. Den gratise morgenmad er også fin, men ikke noget at råbe hurra over.

Das Sidonya Hotel hat eine super Lage und sehr gute Anbindung zum öffentlichen Nahverkehr (Busse, Metro und Fährstationen). Das Personal an der Rezeption ist freundlich, hilfsbereit und gut organisiert. Für uns wurde kurzfristig ein Taxi für den Transfer zum Flughafen geordert und es hat alles gut geklappt. Wir haben versehentlich eines der Gläser auf dem Zimmer zerbrochen und mussten es nicht einmal zahlen. Unser Zimmer hatte eine ausreichende Ausstattung und war gut klimatisiert. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Insgesamt können wir das Hotel weiterempfehlen und würden selbst auch wieder dieses Hotel wählen.
