Grand Hotel Pupp is visually stunning and iconic, but the experience was mixed. The hotel is enormous and spread across multiple buildings, which impacts room expectations. We stayed in the older wing but had a modern corner room with a great view—comfortable, though not the historic style we anticipated.

Breakfast was excellent and the highlight of the stay. The spa was very busy; my Swedish massage was wonderful, but the facial felt confusing, with limited explanation of products or treatment steps. When I asked to take a photo of the treatment overview, I was told not to and to simply memorize it, which felt unnecessary.

Dining service was inconsistent. At the Grand Café, we were rushed throughout a short visit, including having dessert cleared prematurely. At the main restaurant, despite a confirmed window-table reservation, we were initially seated in a corner and asked to stand awkwardly while staff checked with management. Several tables remained empty despite claims of being fully booked. The food was underwhelming for a five-star hotel.

Despite the hotel’s James Bond branding, no venue—including the casino or speakeasy—could make a classic martini; the closest option was vodka with ice and lemon. The only well-made classic cocktail we had was a Manhattan at the pub.

There was also a persistent sewage odor in common areas during our stay, without acknowledgment from the hotel. Architecturally grand, but service and communication fall short of five-star expectation

Just been here for 2 nights, lovely frontage of this Grand Hotel but inside wasva bit disappointing. There was an old musty damp smell in the lobby and other parts of the hotel.
The spar was terrible! Its was so full you couldnt get anywhere to hang robes or leave slippers, the fountains weren't working, some parts were only for 2 persons! A small spa for a massive hotel was disgusting. Needs attendants checking areas or limited use time so its more pleasant and healthy.
We wouldnt stay again, not worth the money.

This was the second time we stayed here and again, it was great. The facility and breakfast were excellent and the staff were friendly. This was the first time visiting Becher's Bar where the only issue occurred. The lady would not let me charge our bill to our room. She wanted to see the card with our room number written. I assumed it was the card that held our room keys that was given after we checked in. I showed our room key and told her our room number, but that was not sufficient. I was able charge everything else to our room without issue or being asked to see that \"card\". Regardless, the place is still one of our favorites and will return in the future ..... maybe not to Becher's Bar though.

What can you say? It’s a once in a lifetime experience and was excellent throughout!

A few tips:
- Spend the few extra dollars to stay in the “Riverside” section; it is worthwhile.
- the spa is great, but be mindful that it does not have a geothermal pool - just a regular pool and a mix of saunas/steamrooms.

Such a beautiful town and everything is walkable. The hotel restaurant was booked our first night for dinner, so the front desk helped us book another equally amazing restaurant for dinner. The spa/hot tubs were lovely, though we weren't able to schedule any services. Lunch at the main restaurant was a highlight **expensive but worth it! The room was well appointed with comfy bedding and pillows - plus a chocolate! And now I need to go back!!

The only critique we have is that the spa and café seem a bit small for such a big hotel. We went to the hotel thanks to his acquaintances in the Czech Republic. But the accommodation in one of the best rooms in the main building was terrible. The room was very shabby, old, damaged and cheaply furnished, mini shower room for men. Sleeping was so bad and uncomfortable that we left a day earlier. We discussed the situation with the reception and they did not do anything to accommodate us. We had very uncomfortable pillows, the hotel supposedly offers a pillow menu, but we were not offered that. We complained after departure to the director, but he only got back to us with a delay without proposing a solution. The only thing that was okay was the helpful maid, who at least covered the small postman from the sofa for us. The service at the bar and in the restaurant was also nice, but not the arrogant manager. Our complaint was not resolved even after many weeks, the hotel does not respond. If they respond, I will update this feedback, but according to the negotiations, I do not recommend it. It is a waste of money for the ignorance at the reception and a bad room that deserves a general renovation. I am attaching a few photos from the areas where we stayed and walked around. We never left our stay early, we were so tired that we did it and everyone in the hotel didn't care at all.

This grand hotel unabashedly lives up to its reputation. Elegant, spacious, and quiet, with an outstanding staff that goes the extra mile to ensure one's every need is met. The breakfast buffet is worthy of special mention. It is extensive and truly delicious, and should not be rushed. Plan to spend at least an hour enjoying the exquiste, thoughtfully curated options while taking in the restaurant's grandeur. The suite was exceptional but for a smaller than anticipated bathroom. The spa delights; however, some guests don't appear to consider when others are waiting to access the limited-space water pools. The pool is spotless, though, and can have a very zen vibe, depending on when one partakes.

For a five star hotel you expect the room to be spotless but i found mould in the shower and the fridge wasn’t clean and they told me my room had a forest view there was no forest the only thing i could see is the rooms at the other side of the hotel and the hand towel were stained … and i had to walk to another reception to go to the spa … for me it was over rated.

This is a really beautiful hotel but i would not say that it is 5 star. The room was spacious & beautiful but the bathroom had a tub/show but no curtain or glass so every time you took a shower the floor was soaking wet. Maid service was very diligent & quick for the most part, they have a pillow menu but don't actually have the pillows when you order them & never delivered anything as an alternative. Rooms don't have irons, ironing boards, umbrellas or hair dryers in each room, when you requested one, they sent it right away but it was odd for a luxury hotel. Despite a few hiccups at the spa with bookings & scheduling the treatments were wonderful. They do not have a self book or reminder option for spa services which can be be a problem & the spa is on the other side of the hotel & in order to get there you have to walking down a cold hallway made of glass that is facing the street in your robe while people on the street, lobby, casino are staring at you. The pools & spa facilities are nice but have no place to get water or a bite to eat between treatments in your robe. There were lockers but no change rooms, and it was hard to find staff onsite. The pool, is open to all guests at all times & is very congested by kids who are splashing, making noise & not following pool rules which took away from the relaxing atmosphere. The food & drinks were delicious but despite having several restaurants onsite almost all had similar menus & could not be booked online or last minute.

Loved it BUT we did not know we were staying on the less elegant, cheaper side of the hotel. We thought it was all the grand place. Service on our side not as good. No concierge. Used concierge on fancy side but not around much, need more hours. Long walk from our hotel area to the spa and nicer part of hotel. The spa was great. The restaurants on the nicer side very pretty. Location nice. No one gave us a rundown of town/sites. We almost missed the historical Spa 1 next door! Bar did not stay open like they said it would for food 1st night. Some staff didn't know all services. Mixed but recommend for the decor and old elegance of the hotel. Spa very nice & services were good. Recommend.

Overall it's a architectural beautiful hotel, it's close to many restaurants, shops and landmarks and has a gorgeous spa with very friendly staff. Was at the spa for my birthday and hotel provided an adorable Happy Birthday desert.
However;
* there was only 1 electrical plug in the bedroom (not close to the desk, not near the bathroom, not near a nightatand) so you have to request an extension cord from the front desk to drag the cord around the room for various power needs.

*Shower stall is very small so bruised up elbows trying to wash my hair.

*Access to spa (pool/sauna/hot tub/salt room) while beautiful are only open till 9pm, which is also when pretty much everything in town closes.
Feedback: the pool hours really should be later to allow for downtime to be spent there.

*The room was always 24.5 degrees, no matter what i set the thermostat to it remained that temperature, so I had to keep the windows open the whole duration of my stay to keep the room any cooler.

We spent one night at the hotel while traveling to attend the concert celebrating Smetana's 200th birthday, which was organized by the hotel. The event was well-prepared and held to a high standard. We enjoyed coffee at Pupp and dined at the restaurant Nova Dvorana. Unfortunately, we could not try the Grand Restaurant as it was fully booked, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We stayed in an \"old-style\" room, which is in need of some refurbishment. For example, the room lacked a USB connection for charging devices, and the bathroom had a somewhat outdated design. However, everything was clean and well-maintained.

THE worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced.
The room that they put us in looked nothing like the photos and much smaller. They insisted that this was the same price range. When I asked whether there are other rooms, the front desk staff was really reluctant, but the hotel was empty since it was on a Monday, during slow season. The second room that he took us to, was what we booked online, so the room was available this whole time! When we went back to grab our luggage from the other room, came back downstairs to front desk, the staff accused us of stealing the bath robes. I asked what bathrobes? Do you see any bathrobes on me? Plus, why the heck would I take any bathrobes? We’re staying here for two nights and we’re just moving from one room to another? We also had staff escorting us this whole time. It was an awful accusation and we didn’t receive any apology.
We were stuck in the elevator for about 5 minutes. We banged on the door, but no one answered. The elevator could take us up and down but the door wouldn’t open. We took the elevator back down to lobby, banged on the door, finally the staff came and opened for us. Again, absolutely 0 apology. In fact, during our two day stay, we were never acknowledged by the staff when we walked by front desk.
We booked massages and facials for two days. The massage was awful, honestly the worst. So I called to cancel the facial for the next day. They still charged me even though I cancelled within 24 hours.

Beautiful hotel. Booked a twin room in what is advertised as a forest view room. All we could see over the top of the roof of the other section of building was a few tree tops. There is no forest as the hotel backs onto a rocky cliff.

The room was spacious and clean. The beds were quite firm and the pillows too soft to the point your head would would get encased in them.

Buffet breakfast was included and considering the grandness of the hotel, just ok. Had the basic hot and cold options but not as much variety as other much less luxurious hotels I've stayed at.

The indoor pool, spa and sauna areas are very good

Always wanted to go to Karlovy Vary and stay at the Grand Hotel Pupp. It lived up to all my expectations. The place hotel is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pool is indoors and stainless steel with several hot tub areas. The location is very convenient as everything is within walking distance. Can't wait to go back!

Great hotel. Convenient location. We were across the street from the main hotel. Not an issue unless you want to go to the spa in your robe and slippers. Martin is an amazing concierge, and put together one of the most memorable experiences we had on our trip. Thank you.

Depandance Pupp Quisisana suite

We got the Depandance Pupp Quisisana suite. At first we were less excited about it because it is across the street from the main hotel with the spa and restaurant. But the suite was so stunning that we remained very satisfied.
