The inn was lovely, the room was clean and the bed was fine, but the room temperature was not adjustable. It was winter and it was so hot that I had to run the AC to keep it cool enough to sleep in.

March 2025 - Definitely would never stay here again. The walls are paper thin and I awakened at 11:30 PM when someone slammed their door multiple times and shook the entire house. The next night, loud talking in the common areas persisted until 10:30 (which is not insane, but after two long days of skiing, I want to be able to pick my own bedtime and not have someone else pick it). At 10:15, when I texted the emergency number they provided, the request to help quiet things down went unanswered. Essentially, you’re on your own…
A few rowdy guests can happen anywhere, but the noise REALLY travels here, so I wouldn’t chance it.

My shower was cold, the hot tub was broken, the floor boards should have been refinished 15 years ago, the bedding had stains, the window blinds were beat up, the bathroom cabinet was ready for the dumpster, and you can’t control the temperature (although you can open a window). The pictures of the property make it look cute (which it is), but a closer look will likely disappoint most people. I am truly not usually a picky person. Maybe two bad nights of sleep made me cranky.

Don't stay in the winter!
Our room was not clean with dirty tissues under the beds and lint everywhere. It was a very cold weekend with temps 0-10 degrees and when we got back we could not get the room above 66 degrees. Apparently there are 5 heater units on the same heat pump and if 1 unit is on cool, they all produce cool air? Shower was also luke warm at best. We thought there may have been many people using the hot water at the same time so we waited until 10pm and 10:45 (my wife) to shower and for the second night, no hot water. The staff is nice and the breakfast is a plus, but the property needs a ton of work. When your in VT and its zero out, the 2 most important things are heat and hot water.

We stayed in the Inn for two nights. We have to say the experience is one of the highlights of our trip. We have been in the States for more than 30 years, this is our first trip to Vermont. We were so amazed by the beauty of Vermont in the fall. And we were even more touched by Kayla & Mike‘s hospitalities! The Inn is very close the vt-100. It’s a very unique place, very well decorated with many thoughtful touches to give you a homey feeling, Each morning, their young boy behaved just like a professional gentleman gave you introduction for all the breakfast options, and then took the order. The food was so delicious, even better than the restaurant’s. On last day, I even got my hot oatmeal which I missed so much for the entire trip because all the hotels only did grab-and-go during covid for breakfast. We definitely want to come back, and recommend the place to all our friends! Thank you again Kayla and Mike!

A Summer Night in Ski Country
The Vermont Inn was a sweet place in the middle of ski country. I booked a room without knowing the size, which turned out to be a bit cramped as we were traveling with large pieces of luggage. But this is not a knock against the in. The owners were friendly, and their young son was our wait person the next morning at breakfast. He was very charming and professional. The inn had a bar and was a venue for special occasions like weddings. We would book again!

This is an older inn that needs some attention to the details. Windows, caulking, older carpet, paint, update parking lot and back entrance. Found and killed 3 big black flies in our room. Found many little dead insects. Felt like the room needed to be freshened before giving to us. Some “love” could make it great.

Vermont Inn is a beautiful, wonderful place! The breakfast was beyond tasty and the service from Jameson was impeccable. We loved our stay and are already planning to return! The view of Pico from the bar and dining room is fantastic. We stayed in the Birch Suite and it was spacious with nice, comfortable touches, though the shower is somewhat difficult for persons over 5’5” or so.

I had such a great time at The Vermont Inn! Check in was quick and easy, and we got some good dinner recommendations! The room was lovely, warm, and very cozy. We ordered seasonal ciders that were absolutely delicious!!! Had a quiet and peaceful night's sleep, and in the morning had a nice homemade breakfast. Our compliments to the young man waiting on the tables, he was adorable and very respectful! I had surprised my mother with this overnight stay and she enjoyed it immensely, as did I. Although the property is starting to show it's age, the Vermont Inn offers the charm and hospitality you would expect. Mike and Kayla, the on-site managers, and their family were friendly, gracious, courteous and helpful. They really contributed to making our trip EXTRA special. Had a wonderful 4-night stay here this past weekend. The inn is classic Vermont. Our room was cozy and comfortable and the breakfasts were great. The innkeepers are the nicest people and the best hosts!

Absolutely loved this place and the owners. The breakfast was delicious as were the complimentary soups and cookies. Dont forget your bathing suit since there is a hot tub and a sauna. I think there is an outdoor pool also but we were there in February. My dog was allowed and they were soooo nice to him even gave him a sausage :). The small bar is a friendly place and the local beer is quite good. The Inn is a great location about 5 min from Pico and 15 from Killington. Fun Irish Pub, McGraths, just down the road and lots of good restaurants nearby. I hope we get back there next year!

We loved our first weekend in Vermont! The Vermont Inn is the best spot for an authentic old fashioned quaint cozy vacation. Gorgeous views! In room fireplace was romantic cozy and warm! The staff is friendly, professional, and super accommodating! Perfect reconditions on what to do in the area. We will be back soon!

Great inn, kids (5 and 8) absolutely loved it. There is a game room, freshly cooked cookies at 4pm, and a soup around 4-5pm. Only 5 min drive from Pico. We will definately be back.

The Vermont Inn was a nice place to stayWhen we visited Rutland. Brought my wife and two dogs. The Inn was nice and the keepers were very nice and welcoming. We ate our breakfast there and was happy with the food and service. Once again they couldn’t have been nicer.
Our room could of been dusted and cleaned a bit better. Cobwebs in the bathroom corners and dust under the dresser made it a sneezy situation.

We were taken on a tour of them inn when we arrived then had complimentary snack and cookies; both were delicious ( thank you, Amy). Several games and a variety of books were available in seating areas. After a evening in a clean, comfortable night, we chose the continental breakfast but menu breakfasts looked and smelled delicious. The staff is professional and enjoy interactions with guests.
