Hotel was not open. We attempted to stay on Nov. 1. There was a sign on the door stating the office was only open 7am-11pm (Nothing about the office hours was listed on the hotels.com profile). The door to the hotel was locked, and no answer when we arrived at 11:02 pm. Through the locked door we could see several large carpet rolls. There were no other cars in the parking lot. I saw on other reviews that they got sent to a different hotel, which makes me think they are under renovation right now.

We got to the hotel and it was closed. There were no attendants at the desk and the front sliders did not open. We called twice that night with no answer so we were forced to book another (more expensive) hotel for the weekend. I called the next morning to try to get an understanding of that happened and they said “a manager would call me back when he was available” which has not happened within 24 hours of me calling.

First of all the hotel I booked is not the hotel I got. I know you get what you pay for but I didn’t even get what I paid for (talk about false advertising) I specifically booked a room with a pool view. I get to the Lakeland Hotel and it was under construction. The man at the desk said, we need to send you to our other property down the road. I had been driving all day I was exhausted. It was a La Quinta, and it was run down and unclean. There was a sign on the elevator saying “elevator works” which was concerning, the floors in the hallway look like they have never been vacuumed. The room was decent. I will say the woman at the front desk was nice and helpful but I was very disappointed in the whole situation. Expedia said check out was Noon and he said “it’s 11 we don’t do that” I asked him multiple times to honor what it said on Expedia and eventually he did.

We booked a specific room for the night, they called to ensure we were coming and we stated yes; nothing more to the phone call. Showed up only to be told that they didn't have a room for us and were transferring us to a completely different hotel. Not only were we not told over the phone 2 hrs prior to getting to the property, we missed our reservation that we had and the reason for coming to the area. This was inconvenient and shows that the owner/mgmt was incompetent by not removing the vacancy from sites and they did not inform their staff until the last minute.

I did not actually get to stay at this hotel. I went there and they did not have air condition so they sent me to their sister Hotel, which was called America’s best on the outside of this hotel behind it. They were crackheads and homeless people they gave me a room on the first floor I go inside in the room was dirty. I’ll bring my own clean supplies anyway so I clean the room spray the room because it smelled I want to put on my sheets and the sheets look like they had never been changed. I went to the second bed praying that the sheets were clean so that I could put my sheets on and they were. I put my sheets on the bed and no sooner than I went to go, lay down, roaches start crawling up on the walls a call back to the other Hotel and ask him was that Hotel just as nasty because I’d rather have no air conditioned than to be fighting roaches all night he told me to switch my room if you have roaches in one room in a hotel, there are roaches all over the hotel I could not get a refund. They told me that I stayed at the hotel which I didn’t. I left after I hung the phone up and I could not get a refund.

Went to stay at Lakeland, their Air conditioning was not working in any of the rooms, so they referred me to a different hotel, that they also own, BOY! What a mistake that was! They sent me to a run down disgusting motel in the hood! Called “Americas Best Motel”Sheets were dirty full of c*m stains, blood stains; shower was disgusting and full of mold. Noise at all hours of the night! What do you expect from the hood? It’s lower quality of people, with no notion or pity for the people trying to sleep! STAY FAR FAR AWAY

This la quinta was the most disgustingly dirty ive stayed in inside or outside the u.s. and i was provided a room with a childs single bed, broken fixtures in bathroom and told take it or leave it after 3 hours on hotels.com customer service. Completely unacceptable.

Worst experience staying at this hotel and the whole process of checking in. Poor management and lack of customer awareness, unprofessional. After paying through the app and arriving to the hotel for check in, the guy on the front desk was having a hard time to process my reservation due to a payment done through “expedia” and not through the hotel. Never had an issue like this before in any hotel while paying through hotels.com. I was in the lobby for 20-30 mins waiting for him to contact his boss and figure how he could claim the payment for my 1 night stay. Nevertheless, he was careless of charging me the $100 deposit after the delay. Deposit that wasn’t released back after 4 weeks and a half, having in mind that i had to call 4 times inquiring why it was taking more than the supposedly 3-5 business days. First calls no one knew why or told me to wait. Spoke with the manager in the last calls and finally got resolved. The manager asked for my number to give me a call back for a follow up but never did. I had to check my bank statement daily and finger cross that i could get my money back. Poor management and customer service, lack of best practices on operations and customer awareness. I would recommend anyone who wants to make business with this hotel think twice and have in mind that the indian restaurant is one wall away from the rooms so the food smell is strong and unpleasant. Worst experience, very frustrated and disappointed.

Worst hotel stay ever!!!

1. Hard to find this hotel. Google Maps takes you to wrong side of I4 and hotel has no name on the building.
2. Check-in took 2 hours, due to a slow clerk, front desk not having light bulbs, and she could not see in the computer what kind of beds were in the rooms. From 9-11 pm, my 11-year old granddaughter and I went 5x up and down with our luggage trying rooms. Two had one King bed even though I had booked 2 Queens, one had no light, and our final room was missing a chair, a lamp, the light bulb which we had to get ourselves from the next room, the desk with chair, and a rod to hang up our dresses. The bathroom door did not close, and the toilet flush needed repair. The whole 4th floor was not finished yet, but half furnished rooms were rented out. The mattresses were super comfortable though.
3. I would have left but I had prepaid for 2 nights.
4. The advertised breakfast was reduced to a brown paper bag with 2 mini muffins, a tiny water, a kids apple juice and a banana, which was missing on the first morning.
5. No one seemed to care about all the mishaps and wrongs with the rooms.
6. Our last morning we found out that the advertised noon checkout was actually at 11 am. When asking for fresh towels we got a NO, then wait for housekeeping, then get the ones from your room first. When I got frustrated, I was first accused of video taping which I proofed that I didn't, and then I was threatened with police.
7. I would never stay at this hotel again. Please don't prepay.

Price was good, room was clean and that is all. Room had 1 chair, no nightstands, door to pool area had no gasket so we heard the I-4 traffic all night all. Bed was hard as a rock. Shower had warm to cold water all 3 nights we stayed there.Congenital breakfast was a brown paper lunch bag with small amount of food and drinks. Ice machine was broken.
I would have changed if I had the option.

Asked for a towel for swimming pool was told to go ask cleaning people she said need old towels we t and got them she called manager on us cus she thought we got to many towels. Then put do not disturb sign on door and cleaning lady went in and took our clean towels and left us with none . Will not ever go back and the manager of hotel said oh well I will talk to them about not going in your room with do not disturb sign in the door. Never go back there..

Beds were very comfortable, ac worked well in 2nd room. The king we got 1st the AC was making noises & had cockroach crawling on lamp and hen I turned on light. Went immediately to front desk and requested a new room which they did immediately. The next room was 2 double beds not a king but that was ok because no bugs & AC was quit so we could sleep for our competition the next day.

The hotel was clean and smelled good and checking in was good. The only problem we had was the remote for the TV barely worked. Hard to change channels and volume. The other thing was the water BARELY GOT WARM ENOUGH to take a shower! After letting the water run for over 5 minutes it was tolerable enough to take a very fast shower from being in the sun all day.

The bed was WONDERfUL!!! So comfortable clean and nice bedding!!! The property itself is “tired” - worn out and dated-but the POOL is excellent!! Very very clean and well maintained. Location not ideal for relaxing in pool immediately adjacent to highway #4. But pool and patio were beautiful! Tile in bathroom needs refreshing. Hot water in shower DID exist but was limited. Alvin at front desk was very very nice. Great location - great sleep - great price. We’d stay there again.

We checked in, smelly hallway. Put us in a room on the 2nd floor. I showered, no hot water. Went to dry my hair, hair dryer doesn’t work.

Complained to management and they offered to move us. Apparently the 3 and 4th floor have been “renovated”. Still not hot water.

I read other reviews (too late). The poor reviews are true. We left the hotel. Lesson learned, believe the reviews.

Don’t pay for the room until you know what you are getting. Ask to see the room, check the water. This hotel is under renovation, but I’m not convinced that the renovation will help enough.

First walking into the property it smelled like weed.
Second they gave me a room key with a customer in it. Then they moved into the second hotel room and there was no light, and the third room was evenly worse. No night table (which I needed for my CPAP), the toilet seat loose, the walls cracked, the bed, etc. The worst experience ever!

Hotel is a dump. My daughter and I had to walk through a dark hallway (no lights) and use my phone to find our room. Inside the room, the carpet had food left over in it. We had maybe one floor lamp to serve as light. Bathroom had dirty shower pan. The room smelled, and around 3 am not only I could breathe because of allergies but we were both woken up to a couple having sex next door. There’s no soundproofing at all. Doors are the same as nothing. The blanket was so thin it was the same as a sheet. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They advertise the hotel with pictures from before their supposed renovation, so it doesn’t look awful online. Reality doesn’t match pictures. Same with breakfast. It’s just a bag with muffins and a banana.

Booked via Expedia. Arrived to scafolding and crane outside main entrance of property. No real signage of hotel on property either. I guessed that was the hotel. Nevertheless, massive line to enter the proprty just to learn front desk was understaffed. Waited 45 minuntes in line to then learn hotel was overbooked and could not honor ny reservation. All nearby hotels were sold out and had to sleep in my car at nearby gas station. Welp.

There was an issue with communication between the hotel and Expedia, this created a huge line of people trying to check in with not enough staff. Took us over two hours to get checked in and people were sent away without a room even though everyone had reservations. Hotel management was calling Expedia at 11:00 pm and was not informing all the people in line of what was going on.
Thankful we ended up with a place to sleep but for sure not a place I would ever attempt to stay at again

I will never stay at such a gross nasty hotel ever again and it will be advertised to everybody that I can post it to. And it's a damn shame that you rent rooms out to people in that condition and the doors won't shut. You've got to slam them like with a hammer and you got to kick it. Open to get it open and that's a shame that you rent rooms out like that. So yeah I will be letting everybody in the world know. Don't stop at your hotel on 98 North in Lakeland Florida. I don't live here but I would never come back to this place. It smelled like there was nowhere to hang anything up. There was no lights in the room that you could see anything. No phone. The sink water didn't come out and they say oh they're remodeling well. Don't remodel in the middle of having people stay in the trashiest rooms that you have and there's no ice bins grows. This was the most terrible unfriendly

The hotel is being remodeled. The breakfast area does not exist, because supposedly it is under remodel. The rooms are moldy and disgusting.
I would never stay at a Quality Inn for the rest of my life. Expedia should remove this listing from its website. Also disappointed Expedia does not say anything that it’s being remodeled while still open.

I was given a room that was not ready for use by front desk staff. 2nd room experienced a continuous water leak from ceiling after about 2 hours. 3rd room was on 3rd level that had a lot of construction in the hallways, and room was better after getting upgrade. I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The room appeared to be halfway under construction, with noticeable issues such as missing parts in the fire system and tape sealing off sections. To add to the discomfort, there was no hot water or heating available.

Room service was inconsistent, making only one of the two beds, and I was surprised to find the absence of a trash can in the room. Overall, the accommodation felt poorly assembled and in dire need of attention. Additionally, I was required to pay a $100 deposit upon check-in, despite having paid for the room in full online.

Regrettably, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.

No hot water! Picked up the room phone and no dile tone. The cord has been cut. Walked to the front desk and was told to let it run for up to 30 minutes. No apology. Went to the room and let water run but it never got hot. Was going to a wedding and had to take could showers! The door dead bolt would not engage and the safety bar on for was gone. We came in at 830pm. No one at desk. No one to greet us. Place seemed like a ghost town of a lobby. We walked arounf for 10-15 minutes trying to find someone. Eventually someone came. I ordered a double room. They had none available. They said we will upgrade you to a suite with a ling size at no extra harge but you must pay a $4 cleaning fee. Shouldnt that be part of the room charge. The room inadequate. Maybe 4 sockets for power. No usb connections. Very dimly lit. The carpet is old, we didnt dare walk barefoot. The furniture looked like something from a thrift store. Extension chords everywhere. The front window had tint that was peeling off and bubbling. The room was big but was no suite.we stayed for 2 nites for a family wedding. Coming back from wedding its late at night. Go up to room and the keycard doesnt work..im tired,, its late and i have to go back down to the lobby to get someone to fix the card. Seriously!!!!
The parking lot area had questionable folks walking around. And the parking lot was full.of potholes. There is some renovations going on but this place needs to shutdown and spend a month on fixing and upgrading things. Quality Inn shoukd rip the name off of the building. It was not quality whatsoever. I will.never stay there again.

The phone lines were cut the TV didnt work
When i checked inthe guy tokd me all his king size beds were already taken. Mind you check in started at 3 i was checking in at 3:20 showed the guy the conformation of reservation of a king size room. The TV didnr work room was reallTY outdated

The property is about to undergo major renovation according to Rep, but even after I informed him that the carpet inside the room was just as dirty as the hallways, no one came to clean. At 5am construction workers were yelling in the hallways. I have never stayed in a hotel as terrible as this in all my travels. This was a last minute booking and had to settle for whatever I could find given the size of my group, but I never expected it to be this bad. The breakfast they advertise is 2 tiny muffins, baby sized apple juice, and a 4oz water in a brown bag, how degrading. Positive comment, at least the two double beds were comfortable the other room my sister stayed in wasn’t. Location was dirty but sheets smelled clean. Almost forgot, there were individuals outside the front doors by their cars having loud conversations and listening to music. GHETTO!

It was ok for 1 night

The staff was friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet. The telephones did not work in my room or in any room per hotel staff. There was coffee in the room. However, breakfast in the morning only had regular coffee downstairs, no decaf. Breakfast was given in a brown paper bag, not what I was expecting.

Do not stay here the pics are not what it actually looks like. When I checked in and saw how filthy the room, the hallway and lobby looked I called Expedia and asked to be moved to another hotel. This hotel was creepy, dirty had a lot of people sitting outside the rooms I could smell marijuana I didn’t feel safe. The pool was torn apart and there is no continental breakfast except a to go option. It is very run down and need of repairs throughout. The man at front charged me a daily fee for cleaning, even though I didn’t end up staying there and I’m not sure what the fee actually goes towards because it was gross in the room. I was very uncomfortable leaving the property when the man at front confronted me if I was the one who called Expedia.

Nasty hotel

The most dirty hotel I ever stayed. The carpet, the walls, the seats in the room, everything was dirt, stained. Ice machine no working and all moody. Nasty place.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks while awaiting an apartment. The first thing I will say was extraordinary was the staff... so friendly, so accommodating. They really tried to make everything about our stay as comfortable as possible. The Manager of this hotel does a great job of keeping it safe and quiet... No riff Raff hanging out around here! The accomodations are basic( although they are close to being done with renovating all of the rooms) but the rooms are clean and the two rooms we were in had nothing broken or worn out. The beds were sooo comfy! There is laundry on site and the machines are nice and new. Also surprisingly reasonable cost wise, don't bring quarters though as they take your credit/debit card(wish all laundromats would offer this, it's so convenient). For the cost, your stay here is going to be so much more pleasant than any of the others in the same price range, believe me. You won't find any cockroaches at Quality Inn.
