This is a fantastic friendly hotel, location is ideal for train station. Rooms have air conditioning, breakfast is wonderful, croissants, eggs, bread and cheese. Cereals juice and coffee. Absolutely perfect for our short stay. I doubt you will find a nicer welcome.

A disappointing stay in central Locarno
Despite not having very high expectations it was disappointing. I had chosen the place because nice and central but...They did not seem to expect me and gave me a room that had not been heated. Well, turning the heater on caused so much noise that it had to be turned off at night. The bathroom had an electric heater mounted almost at the ceiling with a timer and did not really help to get some warmth. Besides that the TV did not work. When I checked ou they again were not sure if I had maybe stayed 2 nights while clearly I had only been there one. The office seems to have some difficulties.

Not very welcoming staff at check-in. However check out was completely the opposite. Very friendly and helpful. Loud music woke me up at just after 01.00 in the morning. No television remote control in room, so had to contact reception for one. Then very few channels on TV.

I was put off by some negative reviews, but I was more than satisfied. I stayed for four nights and had a view over the lake. The room was clean and comfortable, with good wi-fi. Breakfast is served in a pleasant room, with an ample selection. Location is across from the railway station and about five minutes’ walk to the lake and ferries. The lady receptionist was very friendly and helpful; the gentleman was more aloof. There are eating options and convenience stores nearby. There is no need to pay more for accommodation in Locarno.

I was a bit unsure about the Garni Montaldi, but the hotel is located not 2 mins away from the station and double-glazing make sure the room remains quiet. The hotel itself is a bit old, and rough around the edges, but the rooms are big and perfectly clean, so you have to take the good with the not-so-good. Helpful staff; free Wi-Fi.

First impression on entry is 'Is this a hostel ?' and it goes downhill from there. Staff were reasonably helpful but first worry is when you are handed 2 remotes for the TV at reception ?? The lift was old with NO GUARD between the lift and the lift doors.Could not see any fire escape signs even though we were on fifth floor. Door to room led to 2 separate doors to 507 and 508 (as we required a separate single). One bathroom which was a horrible plastic tatty unit with shower. The bedrooms had been painted by someone who thought that wall paint should splatter round the ceiling edges... at least that was a better colour than the stain on the ceiling. The worn out tatty furniture looked like it had come out of a house clearance... Bed linen so old that it was 'bobbly' and the sheets so thin over a not too clean mattress that we slept on top of the 'covers' in our clothes. After the banging from upstairs stopped at about 0100 hrs we tried to sleep. unfortunately the banging started again at 0400 hrs. After 1 hour's sleep all night we got up and went down to the worn out breakfast room. Staff member polite, breakfast simple and actually OK. Free wifi so at least you can surf the web while you can't sleep. Room view was nice, up to mountains behind.. Overpriced, almost a joke. I feel sorry for the staff, running a dump like this. If you are brave and book and are handed keys to 507 and 508, laugh and hand them back.

Es liegt sehr zentral, durch das darf man nicht lärmempfindlich sein, es ist ein Stadthotel ideal für einen Kurztrip. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig, sanft renoviert, bietet alles was man in einem 2 Stern Hotel erwarten darf. Das Frühstück bietet alles für einen guten Start in den Tag.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel in der City. Der Bahnhof und Busbahnhof sind nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Das Zimmer sehr klein, wenig Platz. Parkplatz ist im Parkhaus nebenan gegen Gebühr möglich (man bekommt im Tausch zum Parkticket ein anderes Ticket). Es stehen im TV nur ARD, ZDF+3. Programme zur Verfügung (kein RTL, kein Sat1, kein Pro7). Frühstück ok und ausreichend. Ticcino Tickets muss man ansprechen, da es vom Personal nicht angeboten wird. Personal hilfsbereit und freundlich.

sehr gute lage und preis/leistung ok. sehr klein, einfach ein bett aber für eine nacht hats gepasst. es war allerdings kein 4-bett zimmer sondern 2 zimmer mit einem doppel- und zwei einzelbetten. für und als 4-köpfige familie nicht optimal. war soweit sauber, frühstück auch gut. parkieren konnten wir in einem sehr nahegelegenen parkhaus.

Vor gut 2 Wochen war ich noch zufrieden. Jetzt war es schlimm! Ein Gruppe Jugendliche, machte lärm bis spät in die Nacht hinein. Geschrei, Mobeliar die halbe Nacht verschoben. Frühstück mit dem extremen Lärmpegel der Gruppe war eine Frechheit.

Teilweise war niemand an der Reception und es hätte locker jemand reingehen können und Schlüssel klauen können. Das finde ich nicht sehr zuverlässig, denn man soll sich ja sicher fühlen. Wir haben den Schlüssel nie abgegeben.

Da gleich neben dem Bahnhof von Locarno gelegen sehr zentral. Zimmer und Frühstück war ok. Das Personal z.T. sehr unfreundlich. Das Tragen der Masken aufgrund Corona gilt laut Notiz am Eingang sicher für die Gäste, offenbar aber nicht für Geschäftsführer und Consierge.

Einfaches, sauberes Hotel mit top Lage (Nähe Bahnhof und Zentrum Locarno) / Empfang war ok, mussten uns selber nach den Parkticket fürs Parkhaus und die Gratiskarte für ÖV erkundigen, wurde sodann jedoch umgehend ausgestellt, einfaches Frühstück vorhanden, Nachtessen wäre ebenfalls möglich gewesen. Das”hoteleigene” Restaurant befindet sich im Frühstücksraum. Wurde wohl infolge COVID-19 “konzipiert”. Für eine Nacht jedoch insgesamt ok

Die Lage ist Topp, aber das Hotel sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Fenster sind neu und gut isoliert, hält den Lärm der Strasse fern. Die Zimmer sind jedoch sehr schlecht isoliert und man hört jedes Wort der Nachbarn. Zimmer sind sehr klein und das Bad ist ein Kunststoff-fertigbad. Man fühlt sich wie in einer Toilette im Flugzeug. Frühstück war sehr gut und die Auswahl war gut. Preis / Leistung passt gar nicht für mein Empfinden. Nur die Lage allein kann einen solchen Preis nicht rechtfertigen.
