This was our third visit to Villa Orselina, having first visited in 2020. It's a firm favourite and we return annually to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Villa Orselina really is a little slice of heaven. The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location and the staff most welcoming and attentive. We'll be back!

This is a absolutely loveley retreat up in the hills above Locarno. The view is marvellous, the rooms spacious and the staff superfriendly. The weather wasn't so good so we enjoyed the SPA and eating a bit too much - as it tasted so good.

Luxurious but not pretentious hotel, with wonderful views, amenities and food. Perfect location to feel like you are away from the crowds (lovely, relaxing pool and spa facilities), but also for exploring the area and enjoying adventures. Two suites fit our family of six perfectly, without feeling crowded. Service was friendly and excellent, especially Frederico at the front desk and Andrea and Heidi in the restaurant. Half board option is very reasonable for four course gourmet dinner, with full menu selection. Fabulous buffet breakfast, which includes made to order eggs and omelettes, overlooking the lake - couldn’t be a better way to start the day.

We stay at the best hotels around the world and this hotel as at the top of the list. We have also stayed at the Eden Roc down in Ascona... not even close to the quality of Villa Orselina and Eden Roc is nearly 4x the price!!
The views are stunning, you are steps from the funicular down (to the town) and the tram up (for hiking), and the best part of our stay... THE SERVICE!!! Among the best of the best we have ever experienced! (and that is saying a lot considering we only stay at 5-star hotels). CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

Séjour très agréable dans ce bel hôtel de luxe: la superbe vue, la belle piscine chauffée extérieure sont ses points forts.

Schöne Lage und Zimmer, Essen verbesserungsfähig
Schöne, geräumige Zimmer mit toller Aussicht. Sehr freundliches Personal. Frühstück nicht auf 5*-Niveau (Auswahl überschaubar, Brotkrumenreste in bereitstehenden Brotkörbchen, in frische Schalen hineinragende Pflanzen). Die im Voraus gebuchte Halbpension war enttäuschend. Das Degustationsmenu war über unsere 5 Tage stets dasselbe und bestand aus Speisen, die sowieso auf der Abendkarte waren. Alternativ konnte man aus der ebenfalls überschaubaren Abendkarte wählen. Nach drei Abendessen (in sehr unterschiedlicher Qualität: sehr dürftig während der im Saal nebenan stattfindenden Hochzeitsfeier, sehr gut am zweiten Tag, durchschnittlich am dritten Tag) konnten wir uns nicht mehr auf einen erneuten Abend im Orselina-Restaurant freuen und gingen nach Abmeldung auswärts essen. Die Qualität des in der Nähe liegenden Restaurants hat uns deutlich mehr überzeugt. Die lächerliche Entschädigung für unseren Nichtbesuch des Abendessens betrug den halben Preis einer Vorspeise. Unserer Meinung nach ist die Küche des schönen Hotels deutlich überbewertet. Der Spardruck ist offenbar so gross, dass wir das als Gäste in einem nicht günstigen 5*-Hotel doch deutlich spüren.
Dennoch war es ein schöner Aufenthalt an einem sehr schön gelegenen Ort!

Das Hotel liegt oberhalb von Locarno, die Aussicht auf den See ist wunderbar.
Die grossen Zimmer sind schön und modern eingerichtet mit einem sehr grossen Balkon, alle mit Blick auf den See.

Sehr schönes und modernes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht. Die Nachbarn hört man nicht. Service am Empfang und im Restaurant aufmerksam (mit Ausnahme ). Ausgezeichnetes Essen; auf Allergien wurde zu 100% Rücksicht genommen.
Wellness entspricht nicht 5* Niveau: tropfende, provisorisch reparierte Dusche, kein kaltes Wasser zur Abkühlung, keine Toiletten, Indoorpool-Wasser nicht sauber, generell eher klein. Spa-Bereich dafür hübsch und großzügig.
