Our stay at the Hôtel Mathis was everythig I hoped for my first time in Paris. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The neighborhood was full of perfect Parisian cafes, bars and restaurants, one block from the Champs-Élysées with all of the shopping anyone could ask for and one mile from both the Louvre and The Eiffel Tower. The small details within the hotel such as the tassled key, gorgeous terrace, towel warmer, slippers and Nespresso machine set it apart from other stays. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. I will stay again when I return!

Pros: Great location, very central to most things. Close to metro. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Staff was stellar! Cons: The floors could have been cleaner. Very dusyt under tables. There was also a weird smell coming up from the bathroom sink. Closing the drain plug resolved it though. We would stay there again.

Loved our stay here! The staff was VERY friendly and SUPER helpful! They were kind and thoughtful, while also being funny. They went out of their way everyday to make sure we were ok and got anything we needed. It was also a perfect location! The metro was close and a lot of restaurants were around the corner! Not happy about the wrong information or they over charged us. We will stay ast another hotel next time.

I loved loved loved our stay at this hotel. It is a small boutique hotel with an amazing location and outstanding friendly service from reception staff. They were always available and so helpful. I requested a blanket to go do a picnic as stores were already closed at that time and they were so nice to find something for me to take. We stayed an entire week and I have to say I slept very relaxed because they made the hotel feel like home. I also needed to add one more day to our reservation and the concierge was so nice to help me with the booking and help me to keep my same room in order to not have to move all the lugagge, I'm really grateful for his help. I also needed a clothing steamer as mine broke on the trip and I needed it to steam my wedding gown for a photo session, and voila, they loaned me one to use which saved me. They also have a barber shop in the lobby which was perfect for my husband to cut his hair, and it was a great haircut. Also they have a small coffee shop which is connected to the hotel which can be very convenient for anyone who likes to eat breakfast. Also it is located around several restaurants which open until late, and a beautiful park all walking distance. The president's place is also walking distance so there is good security around. It was a really good experience and we would definetly stay in this hotel again. Thank you everyone!!! :)

We absolutely loved it here. everything was so charming even the little lift . the front desk staff were fabulous.
a 1 min walk to the gardens and 2 min to the Champs Elysees. so many many eating options around and everything was excellent ,including prices.
5 min walk to the subway either Franklin or Champs.
be aware that you have to leave your key with the front desk because it’s an actual key and for security purposes you have to leave it behind.
also if you use the minibar, you get taxed for your entire stay- not worth the city taxes for a bottle of water or juice.do not use it!!!

Super friendly hotel in the heart of Paris close to shops, cafes and restaurants. Our only complaint was at check-in they said mini bar was free and included in the reservation. At check out we had a 57€ charge. Apparently only water, sodas and juice was free-everything else had a cost. This was never explained fully at check-in and felt blindside by this. There was also nothing in writing in the room about what was included in the free mini bar-all items were in the fridge together

Location of this property was perfect for the things we wanted to do - just off Champs-Elysèe - but enough streets in that it wasn't an all night street noise place.
The staff was phenomenal! Helpful with directions and very friendly when we would come back to the room. Modern room with clean decor and very clean daily upkeep. A great place to launch your Paris exploration from!

I booked this stay under the pretense that there was air conditioning as the listing outlined. When we arrived, it was clear it only had heat. We slept with the door open to get some cool air but it’s a bit loud on the street. Great location tho!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Mathis. Our room was on the 4th floor with a Paris balcony. The room was a very good size. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was perfect for us. We walked everywhere during our stay. Felt very safe. Would definitely staff here again.

I had a lovely stay at Hotel Mathis for 4 days at the end of October. The proprietor and reception staff were gracious and very helpful. Breakfast was so good every morning. The hotel is in a great area with lots of restaurants, and Christie’s is right across the street! I will definitely stay there again.

The front desk was so kind and accommodating. Gave great recommendations and stored our luggage safely when it was time to checkout. Nothing was too much trouble and they were patient enough to teach Americans some French phrases and make reservations for us. Will definitely stay again!

This lovely hotel is a block from the Champs Élysées, 2 blocks from a Big Bus Grand Palais stop and major subway routes. We were just in Paris for the weekend so location was everything. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood and the beautiful Seine river cruise dinner boats are a 10 minute walk away. Will stay here again Breakfast served in a quaint well decorated room was fresh and tasty

There were few places to shop or eat in the vicinity of the hotel and the hotel was in an out of the way neighborhood. There were no services at the hotel.
Upon having a bath in the morning the bathtub drain was plugged and I could not shut off the water because the taps wouldn't work. I had to frantically call the maid to help shut off the water as the tub was set to run over.
Overpriced. Not as advertised.

This is not a luxury hotel. Upon arriving, there were no bathrobes in the room. When we asked the concierge, they told us to check the wardrobe. That was done prior to asking. Then I asked for some wash cloths, the male concierge snapped at me ‘we don’t have those.’ However, they did point at a door and said ‘breakfast is through there 7am to 10am.’ Don’t be fooled by the photos. I do no recommend this hotel.

This was my 3rd stay with this property. Mathis is a shick boutique hotel. The location is amazing close to champs Elyses also very close to 2 metro stations.
Amenitis are all Clarins brand body wash and shampoo and etc. staff are very friendly and accommodating

Terrible hotel. Lost my belongings and rude staff.

Do NOT stay here. The hotel lost a valuable piece of jewellery I had hidden in the room whilst cleaning. It was missing when we returned to the room. When I went to the concierge to inform him, he was incredibly rude, condescending, borderline aggressive and unhelpful. I’ve never experienced such unprofessional behaviour from a hotel in my life and had to spend a night at the police complaining. I would give this hotel zero stars if I could! Horrible experience!

The staff is friendly but the rooms are TINY. It's amazing that a hotel this expensive could have such small rooms. That's my only complaint, everything else is fine, but it really sours the whole experience paying so much for such small rooms.

WE LIKED THE LOCATION OF THIS PROPERTY. CLOSE TO MANY OF THE THINGS THAT PARIS IS FAMOUS FOR. WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE IS THE SNEAKY, DECEPTIVE WAY THAT THEY HID THE PRICE LIST FOR THE MINI BAR, BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE MINI FRIDGE AND THE ACTUAL TOP OF THE UNIT IT WAS CONTAINED IN!! THIS WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING AND IT HAS CONVINCED US THAT WE WOULD NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN!

Great location, but find another hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. The positives end there. The elevator is currently out of service, the room is average, at best, dated, and small (and I was \"upgraded\"). But, that pales in comparison to how loud the street sounds are at night. A recycling truck came through at about 4:30 a.m. and it sounded like they were breaking the glass inside our room. Then garbage trucks rolled in shortly thereafter. Got little sleep. Will not stay here again.

It is an old building with no facilities, a very small and basic lobby and an old elevator which did not work at all. I had a room on the 4th floor and had to go thru the small stairway every time I wanted to go to my room. The bathroom was way too small with a huge sink and no space at all to put your toiletries and cosmetics.
During the day, the stairs were full of bags with dirty linen and vacuum machines..... This hotel is an average 3 star hotel, no way for a 4 star which I booked and expected.
Did not try the breakfast, so no comments on that.
The receptionists were very friendly, only one of them with an acceptable English knowledge thou.

Great hotel near the metro, shopping and food!

Everything from the room to the service was excellent. Only downside was that the elevator was out of operation during our stay, however they transferred our luggage for us, making it much easier. Just a lot of stairs after days of walking and site seeing. Would definitely stay here again!!!
