Vores værelse lå desværre lige ved siden af hovedindgangen til hotellet, vi kunne derfor høre folk gå ind og ud, og døren gå op og i, hvilket vækkede os adskillige gange i løbet af aften/natten.
Samt kom der lastbiler der skulle aflæsse varer tidligt om morgenen, som vi også blev vækket af.
På værelset var der lidt små beskidt på gulvet og der var sand på madrassen på den store seng, samt senge lampe på væggen sad ikke ordentligt fast, så den faldt ned adskillige gange.
Personalet på stedet var dog rigtig flinke og søde. Og deres morgenmads buffet også god.

Prisbilligt alternativ til central overnatning

Fint centralt beliggende hostel centralt i Århus. Der er hvad der behøves, men heller ikke mere.
Sengene er fine, vores værelse havde bad og det var fint - pænt og rent
Køkkenet er meget lille, det er helt umuligt, hvis to skal lave mad samtidig. Jeg vil opfordre Danhostel til at opgradere her.
I weekenderne er der en del støj fra gaden, men der er nok hvad man må forvente med den beliggenhed, ørepropper er anbefalet herfra.
De ansatte gør et stort arbejde med at holde stedet rent og pænt, og personalet i receptionen er venlig og imødekommende.

Bang for your buck on brilliant location

The most wonderful, sweet and helpful staff.
Brilliant location. I could even buy a parking spot overnight.
I did book a double room with my own bathroom.
Considering this is a Hostel, I really got bang for my buck. Of course it simple and not any extra additionally. But you don’t expect that knowing that you payed probably a third of what a regular hotel in Århus - High season - would charge.
I’ll be back. Thanks you so much!

Too hot - bad sleep

Room was awfully hot. That combined with no active cooling (which is pretty normal in Denmark) or option to open a window properly, due to a safety concern i guess, resulted in quite a bad nights sleep.
We were there on a windy spring day with lots of sun (but not directly on the window), with low outside temperatures. The location is very central and noisy in the weekends.
I can only imagine how warm the room must be on a hot summer day.
Apart from being very hot, no option to open a window wide enough to cool it down, and noisy weekends, the room was fine and clean.

Oh, the sink was nearly clugged aswell.

First, last and only stay.

Small, cramped and cold. Check-in became self check-in the day before because it is outside high-season.
The mattress was good but off center, so I nearly feel out of the bed twice. The toilets were nice and clean, with the exception of the ugle and damaged floor. The paper towel was also at a laughable quality.
Doing check-out in the early morning I struggled to find the box where I should return the key card to, as there where no notice.

It was clean, staff were friendly enough. But they charged us to leave our luggage with them! Although we were going to stay with them for five days.
The room was clean but very small. The bathroom was clean and practical.
Room was very hot as there is no air-con, so there was no option except to open the window. But it was really really noisy. And noise and music was nonstop whole night till 6 in the morning. Between heat and noise, we didn't sleep at all.

Vi synes at værelset var ok, men resten var ikke særlig hyggeligt. Beskidt, og nusset. Når vi var i bad stod vi vores eget og de to andre bruserums badevand i måske et min efter man havde slukket for vandet. Da vi kom var vaskerummets gulv våd. Måske en vaskemaskine der igen var utæt sagde receptionisten.

Overordnet set et fint hostel, men værelset var ikke så godt. Værelset lå lige op af reception og indgang, hvorfor der var en del støj i løbet af natten.

Selve beliggenheden er god, men nok også det bedste ved stedet. Vi betalte ekstra for byudsigt - vi så en baggård (dog kunne vi ane ARoS over tagene) Den ene seng, var fuld af hundehår, støv i hjørnerne - generelt nasset, og en parfumeret lugt på værelset.

Vores familie på fire med to mindre børn havde et par gode overnatninger på Danhostel Århus City. Nem indtjekning og værelser der var klar lidt før tid. Fint med parkering lige ved siden af (199 kr. pr. dag var til at overskue) og byen helt tæt på.
Renligheden kunne være bedre. Så ud som om det var flere måneder siden der var blevet støvsuget og sengegavlen var helt vildt støvet.
Ingen larm og fine senge.
Alt i alt en god oplevelse, men rengøringen kunne være bedre.

Ekstremt dårlig indtjekningsoplevelse

Havde en ekstremt dårlig indtjekningsoplevelse, hvor jeg brugte ialt 3 timer på at skaffe mig adgang til værelset. Jeg skulle have modtaget en nøglekode pr mail eller i hotels-app’en. Det gjorde jeg ikke, og hotellet var fuldstændig umuligt at komme i kontakt med. Det lykkedes til sidst efter at have været i kontakt med hotels.com i både usa og dk, da en manager endelig ringede mig op et par timer efter, at jeg kunne være tjekket ind. Til gengæld modtog jeg ingen undskyldning.

A great weekend retreat in Aarhus. Okay it could do with a makeover and not everyone is into dorm style accommodation but it’s hard to beat for location and the on-site cafe takes the stress out of where to go for a snack.

Pros: location, price.
Cons: everything else. Carpets were visibly stained, rooms were musty, bathroom was fairly dirty probably due to large number of guests using (appeared to be cleaned daily). Noise was only moderate, mainly doors opening and banging shut all night.
We stayed in a 4 person room for our family and to access the shared bathroom required going out to the hall then unlocking a door then finding the bathroom door - not an easy set up for kids.

It’s so warm and comfort staying this place.

Great comfort, fantastic environment as it’s a big dorm and lots of people to interact.

The internet is fast which is first my preference and location is at the center as it’s easy to walk to Dokk1 and bus stations(saves our cost)

The only thing you may need to consider is the shower. There is no control , sometimes you get warm and sometimes it’s a bit hot. Not a big issue but better to be informed.

Everything is spacious. So all good here!

Really enjoyed my stay. The number of shared bunks in the room was large but wasn't a bother as we had blackout curtains with each bunk to provide privacy. There are bins beneath beds for storage and a kitchen (with fridge) to cook with. Reception has fixed hours and not too many food options but no big deal (there is coffee). Note: Sheets and towel not included but available for 50kr and 20kr at front desk. The city is pretty accessible from the hostel by foot.

Great location for exploring the city

The hostel was clean and centrally located within a short walk to Latin quarter, sea front, shops and museums. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic but the bed was very comfy and the common areas very nice and well maintained.
The only issue was noisy blinds during a windy night. It would also be nice to have a little shelf in the showers for the toiletries.
