Great location. Within walking distance to MOCA, and a few restaurants that were open during our stay. The town is post industrial and post manufacturing. Walking around MOCA is a wonderful experience in itself as much of the history of the building and surrounding area comes alive and is fascinating.The exercise room is small. Not crowded. The pool was in use most of the time we were there as the pool is used for children's swimming lessons. We didn't want to use the hot tub with a bunch of kids and parents splashing around. Good staff and very responsive.

My wife and I just got back from a 2 night stay at the Hotel Downstreet in North Adams MA. We were very happy with this hotel and definitely plan to return! Several things stood out to us: first, upon checking in the front desk staff placed us in a quiet room located at the end of a hallway. This was very considerate, as there were numerous young families staying at this hotel (it was school vacation week). Second, our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The amenities at the hotel looked great - indoor pool, fitness center, and laundry (very useful if staying with young children). Location: walking distance to Mass MoCA, grocery store (Big Y), and pharmacy (CVS) and several restaurants; driving distance to attractions in the Berkshires, southern VT, and the NY capital region. And finally - an outstandingly reasonable price. Well worth a stay if you are looking for a trip in NW Massachusetts/the Berkshires.

Staff is very courteous. Room was not as clean as it should be but ok. Main issue with this property is the traffic noise and noise from the thru-the-wall HVAC unit which due to the very cold temps wanted to run a lot; even shutting it off, the fan would come on for 15-20 seconds periodically.

Staff were good and the room was clean. Bed is comfortable and room is fairly large. Couch is uncomfortable for prolonged sitting. Not having a cafe/restaurant open Tuesdays and Wednesdays or any breakfast bar is a bit inconvenient but there are other local options. Site location makes for some traffic noise in the room. But is a good value, at least at this time of year (winter after the holidays).

Let the booker beware. I booked an accessible room through Expedia. The room I got was not accessible. I spoke to the front desk, and they said that was Expedia‘s fault. They said the room was hearing accessible. They said they did not have a handicapped accessible room available. Makes no sense. Clearly someone who selected an accessible most likely assumed the room would be handicapped accessible.

The front desk staff, checking in, was friendly and it went smoothly. The room had some minor cleanliness issues. The check-out staff, while not rude, was very "ho-hum" in personality. The biggest drawback is there is no breakfast option in the hotel for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings so you have to go out to get anything more than a granola bar.

The outside and lobby of this hotel look great. The room however of a much less expensive standard than the price charged for it. It was disappointing as the pictures show this modern, bright room, and it was not. Older furniture, the bed was so so, microfiber sheets. Just ok, but slim pickings in the area so they get away with high price.

The hotel is conveniently located to everything and the views of the mountain are spectacular. But it’s also very noisy. The rooms are poorly soundproofed so you’ll hear everything in the hallway and everything in the next room (and bathroom). There’s also a pretty active fire station across the street as well as very loud traffic all around. Next time I’ll bring earplugs.

The rooms are spacious and the hotel is a short walk to MassMOCA - those things work well. What didn't work well is that the attendant at the front desk seemed gleeful to share that our room wasn't ready when we arrived around 12pm and to turn us away. Check in is at 3pm so that's understandable but she seemed happy to turn us away, even though our room was pre-paid. When we asked if our room would be ready if we return around 2pm, the attendant said if you come back ANY time before 3pm, you will be charged an early check in fee. We returned at 5pm to check in. We checked in, were asked to pay a deposit against incidentals but as we prepared to go upstairs, a different front desk attendant informed us that the key card machine didn't work so we had no key and someone would have to accompany us to our room to let us in. What?!! When we asked if the issue would be resolved the same day, we were told no because they were waiting for a third party vendor to do the repair. When we expressed how problematic we found this experience as guests, we were told it was a problem for them too since they had never dealt with this. Every time we wanted to get into our room, we would have to be accompanied by someone from the front desk. No notice was posted at the front desk explaining this issue. During stays at other hotels, when there is an issue, notice is posted at the front desk so everyone is informed. Many aspects of this experience were unsettling.

Really spacious and clean room. Loved the wood floor (and not typical hotel rug that you have no idea what's caught in there). Bathroom could use some update compared to the room, but not a big deal. We love the hot tub and indoor pool as well as the gym. The coffee area in the lobby was nice and convenient. But we really really love the restaurant "Door Prize." Incredible food and atmosphere.

There is room for improvement in sound proof. We could hear the women talking next door until late night. We could hear the motorists zooming by in the streets. We could hear the people talking in the hallway…Our sleep was affected by all these noises.

My one complaint is the sheets. They are silky and slippery and without a fitted bottom sheet, do not stay tucked in. Also the heating and cooling system is quite noisy and cycles on and off.

The walls are so thin we could hear every word of the people next to us from about 9:30 to 11:00 when they left their room. They came back to their room around 2:30am and did not stop talking very loudly and playing the TV until 5:30am.
The air conditioner made a constant loud drip the entire night. We turned it off but it continued to drip loudly and consistently all night.
Between the noise next door and the constant drip we could not sleep.
The shower head was so low my husband could not stand under it.
