Straightforward, modest place

We drove in at night, and there's a little circling around to get in; but the staff was friendly, the room clean and neat, the wi-fi strong enough for us to get some work done, too.

Breakfast was the only thing we ticked down on; it seemed a little understaffed -- tables were slow to be cleared, for example.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, from check-in through check-out, though.

Nice place to stay. A car might be usefull

Nice place. Clean and very welcoming. Old city is about half an hour walk from the hotel. Something to think about with kids. There is not a lot around except a shopping center at 5 minutes walk and a nice bakery at 10 minutes walk. Still a nice place to stay.

Extremely noisy. Other guests very very loud and banging doors at all hours. Kids making a racket in the car park - clearly no security staff. Restaurant not open - public holiday (would have been nice to know in advance). In short, can't recommend at all and would avoid at all costs.

Our room was exactly what we expected, until the shower head broke and taking a shower was impossible. We had staff smoking right outside our window. The front desk gave us another room to use for showering that was right next door. Very helpful. What we didn't like was the dinner service at the restaurant, it was expensive and the food was some of the worst we had in France. Breakfast was very expensive as well, although there was a good variety of choices it was still too expensive (14E each). Overall the two of us spent as much on dinner and breakfast as we did on our room and we did not have any drinks or extras with our meals. Also this hotel is very hard to locate, especially if you try using GPS.

Great hotel, helpful, friendly staff, good food available for breakfast or evening meal. Plenty of free parking. It's a good walk into Quimper. Although the room and hotel in general wad very clean, the toilet in the bedroom was in a separate room to the wash hand basin. Not the best for hygiene.

It was a one night stop for us so the location (just near a commercial center) was convenient and it had a free parking. The hotel is very clean, the room was decent size and all the amenities were like new. The breakfast was rather expensive and we didn't take it but we have tried the hotel restaurant it was OK but nothing special. Generally I fully recommend this hotel.

Comfortable modern hotel, just outside city.

Hotel is just offf the highway on the way into Quimper. Arrived there late eve from airport- 25 euro taxi. Not so much in immediate vicinity except large shopping center.
Room very clean and well- appointed, modern amenities, great shower, comfortable bed and pillows. No frig.
Very large, nice looking pool but closed this time of year. Quiet w few guests this time of year. Basic breakfast buffet w some good dried fruit, basic eggs, bacon, if you're into that. Nothing special.
Very friendly staff but weren't so forthcoming w suggestions or aware of where to go walking/running from hotel. I went for a nice run, but lost in a shopping center parking before finding a good route. Discovered a velodrome w an interesting bike race in-progress.
Needed to find bus for Benodet after checking out and walked into Quimper- very uncomfortable along highway w rolling luggage for 40 min (not est 20) only to discover that there was a bus stop for Benodet one street over from the hotel!

Friendly staff but would not stay here again

This hotel is convenient to local area but not if you want to start out on foot. Its situated near a very busy dual carriageway which would be too dangerous to navigate if you wanted to walk into town. We paid for a superior room - the shower was great and it was nice to have tea and coffee facilities but room service did not leave enough sugar and the herbal tea was disgusting. The bed was very hard and the pillows compacted straight away. We did not sleep well and therefore would not stay here again.

Great stay at The Oceania

We stayed at the hotel for a two night mini break on the way to Roscoff. It is in a good location, being just off the main road into the town. Friendly and efficient staff, very comfortable modern room and excellent breakfast.
Quimper is an interesting town in itself but was also a good base from which to visit other areas of Brittany.
We would definitely stay at the hotel again.

An average hotel - not too good but not bad either

I travel a lot for business and I'd describe this hotel as plain but functional. I'd be hard pressed to differentiate this hotel from any other medium budget chain. On this occasion I was travelling with a friend and the see-through shower cubical made things a little awkward and the room contained no mini bar etc.,

From a location perspective, it is on the outskirts of town (about a 20 min walk, part of which involves treading across a mud path) and is right next a big Carrefour but not much else.

In summary the hotel was nothing special but nothing terrible either.

We actually booked the room for the wrong night but all was OK when we got to the hotel and there was no fuss about giving us a room. The room was large, bright and airy. The window could be opened meaning we didn't have to rely on the a/c. It was very quiet.
The breakfast was good.
Very good value for money.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great for exploring Quimper if you want quite area

Hotel was great - room was superb, every member of staff we dealt with were incredibly helpful and friendly some of the nicest I've met. Hotels corridors are a bit battered stains on carpets and scrapes on walls BUT the rooms were perfect and as I was staying in the room not corridor I have no issues. Swimming pool was great and other than screaming kids one morning who were soon gone nice and quiet. Little bit of a step to town 15mins or slightly longer 20mins along a gorgeous river track. Carrefour with shops 2mins away but you can't see or hear it :) Highly recommended.

Hotel very nice, but food and drink very expensive. No one around the pool it was mostly coach parties staying there. No other English people in the hotel during our stay. Bar closed before 11pm had to wait ages for someone to serve you.to get into town you had to walk down part of a dual carriageway not very safe no path .

The staff was very friendly and quite capable. The restaurant was actually quite good. The wifi also actually worked well, which is unusual for French hotels. However, the a/c didn't work; if it did I would have given it higher marks.

A simple, but comfortable and (for Europe) a reasonably priced hotel with polite and competent staff. Quiet surroundings in a very pretty Breton town of Quimper, where you can wander for hours in it's cobbled streets and markets.
Within easy driving of pretty countryside, the most western point of France, lovely old fishing ports, so a god base for tourism.
Nice restaurant with good menu and with ample continental breakfast.

La suite familiale est grande. Elle donne côté parc très silencieux. Elle est située au rez-de-chaussée. Le petit-déjeuner est servi sous forme de buffet. La chambre est grande propre et lumineuse. J'apprécie le bureau où l'on peut travailler mais il test encombré par une télévision sur pied.

Nous avons apprécié la surface de la chambre et la qualité de la literie cependant la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas, le contour des fenêtres devrait être repeint, le placo au niveau de la trappe de climatisation dans le salon était déboité, la taille des Tv est ridicule pour un 4 étoiles.
Un mini bar aurait été apprécié.
20€/p pour un petit déjeuné trés trés classique est trop cher, à ce prix la il faudrait mettre quelques spécialités, qui ne manque pas dans cette région, comme des vrais crêpes ou des kouing ou vos fameux palets breton.

Bon séjour dans l’ensemble, bon rapport qualité prix mais globalement niveau 3 étoiles pas 4 ! Personnel sympathique et mention speciale aux femmes de chambre au top! Chambre propre et correcte, très calme et facile de se garer.
Tout l’hotel est vieillissant, espace extérieur et piscine inclus (trous ds les fauteuils, carreaux de piscine partis…). Dommage restaurant ouvert aux groupes seulement ms supermarché à coté ca dépanne!

Ne mérite pas 4 étoiles

Que la décoration soit vraiment très soft pourquoi pas pour un 4 étoiles. Par contre que la sonorisation soit médiocre et qu'il faille dormir avec des boules quies je ne suis pas d'accord pour ce type d'établissement. Il y a des nuisances sonores qui viennent des chambres de chaque côté et aussi celle du dessus, et sans compter sur le claquement de la porte arrière de l'hôtel qui donne accès au parking à chaque passage de clients.

Les 4 étoiles ne sont plus ce qu'ils étaient !
Hôtel situé prés d'un échangeur routier et d'un parking de centre commercial ; on a pas vraiment envie d'aller à la petite piscine extérieure.
Le hall d'entrée et les bars sont trés agréables et sans doute récemment rénovés. Par contre couloirs (avec chariots de linge sale) et chambre (petite tv, pas de prise eu niveau de la tête de lit) sont pas top.
Bonne literie mais un seul oreiller.
Serviettes très usées.
Vue sur parking ! Et autocar garé avec moteur allumé juste sous la fenêtre.
Les réceptionnistes ont été très serviables (sauf 1 de nuit).

Die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht. WiFi war praktisch nicht vorhanden: Keine Einwahl möglich. Der Garten um den Pool ist recht lieblos und das Frühstück ist für die Qualität überteuert. Immerhin: Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

More a three star hotel than a four star

This is more a three star property than a four star. We hade stayed before with Oceania in a four star Hotel, but this was not a four star hotel. The pool was also dirty and was very worn out. The extrabed in the room was hard and not comfortable. The airconditioning was very good though and the bathroom.

Hôtel vieillissant et vieillot ne méritant pas ses 4 étoiles.
Couloirs avec moquette tachée et abîmée, rideaux et draps usés.
Le pire est la literie dans les chambres 4 places : clic-clac très ancien qui grince et très inconfortable (pour ne pas dire plus).
Seule possibilité pour faire dormir vos enfants : mettre le matelas à même le sol (faute de mieux car pas d’autres options possibles proposées).
Service de chambres bruyant dès le matin tôt.
Petit déjeuner quelconque et très industriel sans produits maison.
Séjour décevant pour un 4 étoiles « affiché »

Hotel in einem schon etwas abgenutzten Zustand, Pool ok aber auch hier Renovierungsbedarf. Lage an einem Autobahnkreuz, aber keine Lärmbelästigung, jedoch etwas schwieriger Fußweg in die Stadt.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich!

Saubere, ruhige Unterkunft, nettes Personal, man spricht auch englisch. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb - komplizierte Fußwege in die Innenstadt - aber direkt neben einem großen Einkaufszentrum mit günstiger Tankmöglichkeit (für Pkw-Reisende).
Der Preis für das Buffet-Frühstück von eher durchschnittlicher Qualität ist horrend: EUR 16 pro Person. Die Hälfte wäre gerade akzeptabel. Der Preis lässt sich nur aus der Lage erklären - ein Frühstück außerhalb ist wegen der Lage nur schwierig zu organisieren.
