The room itself looks fine, mostly clean, staff was friendly. The room is very big which is nice. The restaurant in the first floor is really good! If you like spicy there's a very spicy pepper popper that is very good.

Now for the not so good. We had an odd number room facing the street and 2am it was still SO SO SO SO SO loud! Music, partying, people, we were on the 5th floor and could hear it clear as day! Our friends that had the back of the hotel faced a temple and was nice and quiet all night!

Overall, fine stay for a 1 night on our way home, if we had to stay more than 1 night we would have requested a new room not facing the street.

This was a tough one so I will play it out in much detail as I don’t think people explained it properly in other reviews. We were here for two nights and my parents were here for 4. Robinsons hotel is very close, the breakfast buffet is pretty decent including eggs made fresh to your liking. This is a block from Korea town so we had some great Korean food. But also lots of locals so which can be a bit intimidating for your first time in Manila. The weekends there is live music until 5 so if you are at the front of the hotel you can hear it loud. The rooms are dated but fairly clean. We had no hot water. But our parents on a lower floor had some. And had to fight to get more toilet paper. Maids only come for a fee. Beds were nice a clean but we did find a clump of hair in the sheets. All in all the price is very cheap and super close to the airport. On the Monday the whole area was much more chill and totally different vibe where I thought I could hang out here. Lots of close bars. If you were staying for a night or two not on a weekend I would consider again but otherwise keep looking

Staff open and tried to get inside our room at 12:30am. We travelled from US and 12 hours is the time difference. We were shocked and scared. My husband has opened surgery 5 years ago. It was hard to get him to calmed down. I was afraid he might had a stroke. Thank God he was fine. The front desk said the staff delivering extra towels to the wrong room. My friend who also had experience of knocking at their door around 6am and it’s still dark outside. They didn’t try to find out the reason but also complained. Hope this doesn’t happen to you all. It was hard get back to sleep and almost ruined our vacation.

Stay away from Amelie! Rooms are old, smelly, and filthy - found several bugs crawling around on the sheets. There's a sign when you come in discouraging using massage oils on the sheets when you have guests come in, so that should tell you about the typical clientele. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear drunk people coming in and out throughout the evening. Finally, staff is super rude - made a big fuss over a 1000 PHP cash deposit, and refused to let me leave until they did a thorough inspection of the room (despite my protests to just keep the deposit and let me leave to catch my flight on time). They even had security block my Grab from leaving - are you really going to go through all that fuss for 1000 PHP? Never coming back.

The rooms was exceptionally clean, bed was comfortable and not a lot of noise as expected in the area due to the heavy traffic and night life of the clubs around. It’s only one block from the main Robinson’s Place Mall entrance. Will be back.

It was a nice hotel in manila. 24 front desk is very convenient for international arrivals as not sure about exact time when u can check in. As my flight schedule was delayed one day. It was a little bit different using swipe card for elevator. the staff was very helpful to teach me how to use the elevator. Very high-tech and secure in my opinion. Staff very helpful. The restaurant/cafe food tasted good. I enjoyed my stay there even though only 1 night.

Despite booking for three, I had to ask to be given more than one key, ask for towel/toiletries etc., for three (rather than two).

Food was strange ..... Spaghetti bolognese (listed as having tomato sauce) served without tomato sauce .... food served cold/lukewarm or a mix of warm (ie. salmon) and cold (vegetables) in the same order. Had a slight Fawlty Towers feel :)

Check in staff and doormen very nice and helpful.

Great location, modern and clean.

The unfortunate aspects is that they have noisy neighbours nearby and can get a bit loud on the weekend. Another factor is that the air-conditioner placement in the room is usually directly pointed at the bed, thus it can be either very cold or warm and would take some time to get used to a perfect temperature.

We (3 friends) stayed in a room with 2 queen beds over NYE. We arrived at 3.30pm and the room wasn't ready, dissapointing given the 2pm check in. Luckily they provided coffee while we waited about 10 mins.
The room on the 10th floor was spacious and as per the pictures you find online. It had a roomy bathroom and comfortable beds. Despite being a relatively new looking building they didn't invest in double glazing & even on the 10th floor we could hear commotion from the street below (which was louder than normal because of NYE).
The hotel was having a NYE function on the 12/top floor (1388 pesos inc buffet dinner & two drinks with live band) but we wanted to be able to acces the rootop at midnight as paying guests. The first staff member we asked said it was only for function guests but then the manager overheard & said it was no problem. At midnight we went up to the roof top to see all the crazy fireworks go off around the city.
We didnt get a chance to use the pool (one of the reasons we chose this hotel over others in the area) because of the rain.It is a very small pool so really only good for a quick dip.
We were able to sign out umbreallas to borrow & reception organised a taxi to the airport at 3.30am. A good choice hotel in Manila and I may consider again as its close to robinson mall and about a 25 min walk to intramutros.

Very Close to Robinsons Place Mall, Malate!

The hotel is simple and straightforward as it can get. The Wifi is stable and fast enough, considering the standards found in Manila. I did not get breakfast though, thus unqualified to review the food. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are too soft for me. However, most importantly, the staff are polite and the hotel is clean. I had issues in other hotels in Manila where the air circulation was not good but Amelie is great in this aspect. The toilets have your basic requirements but the shower can get the floor pretty wet as the shower do not have a shower curtain nor anything to stop the water from splashing out. You can walk to Robinsons in 2 mins and should there be rain, you can borrow an umbrella from the hotel.

I definitely recommend this hotel.

A Nice Hotel Near Robinson’s

Except for a strange conversation with staff before our arrival trying to confirm reservations, the whole experience was great. There are some night life spots nearby that are somewhat loud and not exactly family friendly, but, again, that wasn’t much of a problem for us. We have stayed at various hotels in the vicinity and this one is our new go to. Plus, the small, but, very well situated pool on the roof is a great addition.

My Choice for Malate

Amerlie is a smaller, but very comtemporary designed hotel. It has a very personalize feel that I crave. The hotel is easy to enter and exit for people on the go. I think the location is excelkent. Less than 5 minutes to Robinson's Mall and than than 10 minute walk to the beach. Plus, plenty of night life.

This is hotel is great but I regret booking through Expedia as they have charged more+++++ and even without breakfast to find upon checking in the hotel that their rate was very competitive including breakfast.

I will not say I will not use Expedia in the future but I will see the best competitive price that even offered by the hotel directly.

Expedia was really disappointing.

the check in was smooth. Bed was good but i felt there should be 4 pillows as standard. The pillows were not of good quality and would recommend changing them out for better pillows when its end of life. I was fortunate to be given a corner room facing away from the bellagio pub area.

An almost flawless experience. Amelie was the perfect choice for me and my needs. Close to everything including entertainment and shopping. The Robinsons Mall only a 5 minute walk. The hotel's atmosphere was quite, personal and comfortable. The staff responded to my every need and quickly. And, yes the WiFi was very good. The gym on the 12th floor had a nice city view and was adequately equipped for a good workout every day. I'll Be Back....

I Booked a deluxe room with two adults but I checked in with 5 person.i told the front desk staff about my situation that I will early check out at midnight.then the staff and the manager waive the extra person fee for me,which made me feeling like they so considerable and will put them on my shoes .it is very appreciated that they made my stay more satisfied with confortable and quiet environment and room cleanness.the restaurant in the hotel provided delicious food (shrimp is a must try dish in this restaurant),my family very like it .overall is good and satisfying ~recommended

Glad we ignored negative reports

After booking I read reviews that said the ares was \"confrontational\" and almost cosidered cancelling. I'm glad I didn't. Sure there are a few \"red light\" places nearby and you can get accosted by a ladyboy wanting money but the hotel service and facilities make it worthwhile. The breakfast is excellent with a combination of buffet plus eggs and hot pancakes or waffles to order. They have a free internet station. The staff speak good English and are very helpful . We had a late flight out and they allowed us to store our bags in the office until we needed to pick them up, The room was a good size and had a safe, fridge, and coffee/tea making facilities. Aircon worked well and was quiet and the bathroom was modern with plenty of hot water.IArea good for restaurants. I recommend this hotel.

I asked for an iron and they couldn’t find it in the hotel. Was thinking about buying one and donating for them.
Morning coffee at the breakfast I think it was instant mixed in the pot. Sorry, me coming from Seattle that was just black liquid.
Little better breakfast and coffee would make me to stay there again, but next time in Manila I will try something new and I will let you know.

I came to manila for business and most of the offices I would be visiting is in Malate/Ermita area thus the choice of hotel. However, the proximity of Robinsons is a good thing as I always have a big variety of food to choose from and also minor shopping needs.

The Amelie Hotel Manila provides excellent accommodations and amenities. With a little attention this hotel easily could be rated as a four star hotel. The hotel room was clean, everything was in good working order and amenities provided were welcomed, especially the daily free two bottles of water. Housekeeping was good about daily quality cleaning of the rooms. In fact, I found all staff in the hotel extremely friendly, willing to be of service and helpful from the front doormen, to the desk clerks, restaurant staffs and cleaning crew. I ate my meals at the hotel during my seven night stay. I found their prices reasonable. The rain shower is great, but as another guest noted there is no hot water, but only warm water. I prefer hot showers. The room cooling system worked fine and the bed was comfortable. Location is great. If one wants to experience fully the richness of the local cultural flavor of Manila then you have it as soon as you walk out the hotel lobby doors. There are excellent restaurants, bars, salons all around in the neighborhood. Wi-fi connection and service is reliable, consistent and good. My only gripe about their Wi-fi is having to log back into the system each time one uses it. The breakfast selection was not extensive, but certainly adequate. The food was good.

Fairly new hotel with all amenities in good working order. The rooms are designed to be functional and has a good end use.A/c, waterfall walk in shower, hot water, good bed, flat screen TV, good lobby and tight security all outweighs it's bad neighbourhood. It's in the heart of Malate so you'd expect being in a Red Light District but otherwise once youre in your room, it's an escape.

This hotel in the middle of Manilla has a wonderful professional and ultra friendly staff. Nice clean rooms, very good breakfast choices, very good restaurant, overall everywhere clean, nice bar, nice pool on the roof with view to the city and the sea. You feel like at home and the hotel is very safe because there is always a nice helpful doorkeeper and the elevator has a superbe safe system so that unexpected guests has no chance to enter the building. I recommend this hotel to everybody and I will come back next time!

This hotel is clean, updated, modern and a good bargain. The location is good, just down the street from a major mall, Robinson's. I would stay here again.

Need sound-proofing!!!

I was given Rm.611 which was a corner room. The Wi-Fi signal was so bad I had to resort to using my roaming data plan instead.
Pretty good room size and simple but nice interior.
HOWEVER, you can hear very well the next room's occupants conversation! The room is connected to the adjacent room by a very thin wooden door.
Imagine being awakened at 1am and hearing ALL sorts of noises, it is impossible to get back to sleep! Maybe not the best choice of hotel for family with young children.
During check-in I informed the reception that I'd be checking out very early the following morning before breakfast is served. She offered to arrange for some snack to be prepared for me to take. Although I declined I do appreciate the gesture very much.

Oasis in the midst of chaos

Wonderful staff. Busy, crowded street but tranquil once you pass through the doors. Good variety for breakfast and one block away from the mega mall Robinson's place

It is a boutique hotel with a big hotel feel.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast slection was a bit limited but was still more than adequate. We will certainly stay here again next time we are in Manila.

Nice hotel bad surroundings

Nice hotel with ok buffet breakfast but could have better selection nice staff a bit hard to find down side street
