It was fine for my purposes but it was very noisy with no sound insulation at all. You hear everything from the other rooms and the area outside your door. For me, the location was perfect, within easy walking distance to where I needed to be. There are nice coffee shops nearby. It’s a hostel, not a hotel, adjust expectations accordingly.

This is an awesome hostel, not too big. Lovely staff and a really cool area. If you're looking for somewhere super close to the tourist attractions, this is maybe not for you as it is about 15 minutes from the centre. It's got a great social life in the communal area.

I would make sure you're not a light sleeper as noise travels easily in this place. You will hear all the doors closing anywhere inside.

It was clean and staff were friendly but just had a few issues. I stayed in the private room, which is in the courtyard so you hear everything from people in the courtyard and main floor. The wifi was also a bit spotty in that room.

Fantastic little gem in the heart of local Athens

If you like “quirky”, then this place is for you.
Well kept old house where many rooms still use skeleton keys and you can eat your provided breakfast in the Hortus conclusus (outside garden).

Affordable, clean, comfortable with a very helpful staff.
(Always willing to answer my questions)

Close to the metro and just about everything one would want to see in Athens!

The property is great for visiting ancient athens and the local area and staff are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it was very noisy with a bar just outside thats open until 2am every day.

I was not pleased at all with my time at Athens Quinta. While this property has decent ratings on the internet and somehow made it in my travel book, I am shocked guests are able to sleep here comfortably. My single room was quite possibly the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. It is right outside the street. Walls were paper thin, and the hostel was loud well past quiet hours. I could hear every word from the TV program that the front desk was watching, and was woken up throughout the night by people screaming on the street, moto bikes, and guests buzzing in and out of the hostel. I was woken up by noise over 8 times throughout the night. For anyone who is looking to recover from their jet lag, or rest between touring days, DO NOT STAY HERE. Further, staff was rude and slow to respond to my needs, and were not able to accommodate me to a quieter room or issue a refund.

A delightful little place! It looks like it was decorated by someone's doting aunt (which is not everyone's preference, but I found it charming). It's definitely not one's average hostel. There were thoughtful little touches, like phone chargers and hygiene products. The staff was friendly and spoke English quite well (καλιτερα εινα, επιδι δεν μιλω καλα τα ελληνικα).

Beautiful property tucked away in the centre of Athens, everything within walking distance. Rooms were clean, bed sheets changed daily and towels provided. Locker and key provided as well as basic breakfast.
Staff were really helpful before arrival, giving different options on how to get there which made me feel confident to use public transport instead of a taxi/shuttle. They were quick to reply to any problems I had, like a broken locker. I felt safe staying there.

Absolutely impossible to find, especially in the dark. I needed the help of two generous local women to find this place. It’s on a tiny street that is completely dark. TIP: Walk TOWARDs the library and then past it once you get off at the metro station. It’s still far from the metro station. This is a house turned into ‘hostel.’ The check in people leave at 9pm and after everyone is on their own, so you’re really staying at a shared house, not a ‘hostel’. No USB outlets, I borrowed a wall plug from the other roommates. Note to hostel: please buy a power strip with USB plugs to accommodate travelers. Hot water goes in and out and there is only a bath with a shower head. TO OTHER TRAVELERS: Be mindful of other guests as they may not share your same cultural values. There was a couple talking loudly downstairs after the check-in person left, then they went upstairs and started having sex for over 30 MINUTES without fully shutting the door!! I took a whole half hot shower next to their room and they were STILL doing it!! Clearly they do not care about other guests and that someone might hear. So if you want to be a good guest and respect other guests, DON’T DO THAT. Of course, no front desk person in case of emergencies or to assist guests in this situation. I maybe got one bed bug bite on my 2nd night. There’s lockers with keys and two towels for you. Crackers and water in the kitchen for ‘breakfast’. Stairs only. Room was not crowded (I only had 1 roommate in the 6-bed room).

Lovely hostel, The staff are incredibly friendly and the breakfast in the morning along with all the extra bits and pieces such as sunblock, mosquito spray, first aid kit etc was very generous. Close to the city center, approx 10minute walk and super close to fantastic bars and restaurants

Brilliant!

100% recommend this hotel to anyone regardless of budget or reason to stay at during a visit to Athens. Actually is so good I should keep it’s existence to myself;-). Seriously big complement to the hotel staff: this outfit really go the extra mile to help with questions and problems not even hotel related! I can wax lyrical about this place and the surrounding district which is abundant with a wide range of great bars, restaurants, parks and only a healthy stroll in the sunshine down to the main action and all that Acropolis/ Plaka can provide!

Cute and clean hostel in Athens. Easy to get around from. Friendly staff, basic breakfast. Neighbourhood has lots of grafitis but that doesn't mean it's not safe. The area is actually nice, lots of little restaurants, bakeries and bars.

Very nice stay at Athens Quinta

Great hostel. Clean, very friendly staff, free very good Wifi.
Everything is very easy and practical. Chek out took me zero minute. Chek in was great: she gives you maps of the city and pieces of advice about where to eat, what to visit, etc.
Breakfast: cereals, bread, jams, butter, honey, fruits, cake, tea, eggs. You can have breakfast whenever you want. It is on the table (in the kitchen) from the night before. Very practical for people leaving early.
Living room + courtyard. Lockers in the room. Enough bathrooms. Close to Syntagma place (10 minutes away on foot). 30 minutes away on foot from the Acropole. I did everything on foot and did not use any public transport (except to the airport).
I would come again.

Gorgeous little hostel with loads of character

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days and we couldn't have been happier with the hostel. It's in a great location that you can get to anywhere in Athens from with ease, though the local surrounding shops and cafes were all also charming. We had everything we needed at Athens Quinta and the staff were always on hand to help. We took advantage of the free provided breakfast and hot drinks: incredibly grateful for those! We will be coming again!

Nice, homey hostel with friendly staff.

I had a lovely time here at Athens Quinta, it was my first hostel stay and I felt safe and at home the whole time. The staff were lovely and friendly. It was a bit out of the city but one could walk to the metro quickly, however, coming back late at night I was glad to have someone with me and did feel a bit less safe without lots of people around. It's very close to some great sites too like The National Archaeological Museum which I would throughly recommend to anyone visiting! Lycabettus Hill is also a lovely natural site close by, and has a great view of the city.

Hostel with old world charm

This place is more a hostel than a hotel, but don't let that put you off. It's well located, yet on a really quiet street so no vehicle noise at night. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The place is full of old furniture and books etc, giving it a really lovely charm and is a wonderful place to relax. There's a private outdoor courtyard and terrace, small but a very nice environment. Then a living room with comfy chairs and an upstairs landing with seats too. It's really rather lovely and different to so many other options of places to stay.

Cute, charming BnB- like hostel

The best things about the Athens Quinta are the charm and loveliness of the atmosphere and how friendly and welcoming the staff are. (Catherine especially was so lovely!) This was among my favorite hostels, which is high praise as I have been to many.
Although I loved it overall, I have stayed many other hostels with a much nicer breakfast. There was very little variety…. Orange juice and bread with butter and marmalade. There was also hard boiled eggs, coffee or tea and some cookies… not too much. (At the start of my stay there was some milk and cereal, but it ran out and was never replaced) while this might be better than some hostels, my favorite hostels do a much better breakfast, with more food and more variety. I did appreciate that you could eat at any time in the morning as food was left out!
I really liked the atmosphere of the rooms, but the beds/ bedding could be improved upon. My bed was wrapped in plastic – Maybe consider a mattress pad/protector instead? Sheets weren't the best either.
The highest of praise for cleanliness, atmosphere, hospitality and security (lockers in the dorm rooms, but even if you left things out, you still feel really secure that nothing will be taken or interrupted… just that kind of place) needs improvement for bedding/ bed comfort and breakfast, and a better stocked kitchen.

Great affordable accommodation with a homely touch

We previously had bad experiences with accommodations in Athens and so we only booked 2 nights but this place is so homely and lovely we wanted to stay more! The place is beautifully decorated and a hearty breakfast is provided, Eva will enthusiastically take you through and help you plan your days in Athens with local knowledge of places to eat and shop. We highly recommend this place and will come back!

I really enjoyed my stay. As I said the host was lovely. Very helpful and very accommodating. She was from the area and was really enthusiastic to show off her hometown. Good mix of nationalities. A quieter hostel so no bar or loud music at night which isn't a bad thing. If you wanted a drink or food there was a bar and good square less than 5 mins walk. I felt safe in the neighbourhood. Easy to organise a day trip to the closer islands as well

This hostel is a real gem. The rooms are nice and the location ok; the real treat are the people who run the place. They will do everything in their power to make sure you have a great stay in Athens and Greece. They have among the most genuine and friendly attitude of anyone I've experienced in my travels to 100+ countries. They helped me rent a car, get ferry tickets, find the best place to change money, offered comprehensive advice on traveling in Athens and even all of Greece. I would definitely come back here.

Staff was great and the place was very clean, however we couldn't sleep cause it was a very hot night in Athens and the room didn't have Ac or a fan to cool off with. The bed wasn't really comfortable either. We needed a place to stay for one night so we chose that place for the great ratings but I was a little disappointed for having no fan or ac in our room. But overall the place was nice!

Home away from home

My son and I arrived late at night at the hotel, and were met by the friendliest staff. It felt like a home away from home - with beautiful service, wonderful help and advice for where to go and what to see the few hours we had before leaving for the airport. Arriving in the night, the area looked a little grotty, almost. But in the morning we saw what it really was like, and had a wonderful walk up to Lycabettus Hill - only ten minutes from the hotel. The view of Athens was stunning! Also, the bus service was very close, and the staff gave us admirable advice on how to best get to the airport. There is a quaint little pateo at the back, with lots of retro furniture and details, adn a wonderful place to enjoy your morning tea. Not much of a breakfast, but just enough for that little bite and a tea or coffee. All in all - it felt like home. And I would love to stay there again!

Athens Quinta is a great hotel. I arrived late at night and got a very warm welcome even though it was late. I stayed in mixed dormitory and it was clean, quiet and nice.
The hostel itself is very clean, comfortable and the staff is helpful, friendly and great! Good location, in walking distance from the major POI of Athens.

Quirky, friendly and good facilities

I spent 3 nights here in mid September 2015 and loved it. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and gave great advice on where to visit. The bunk beds were comfortable and robust (so no fear of them collapsing in the middle of the night). The garden courtyard is very special and they provide a good breakfast. I'll definitely return here

Stylish retro room in student-friendly area

Athens Quinta is in an interesting area with some good local restaurants and quite a happening vibe. We stayed in a very clean, nicely presented room with a shared bathroom. The hotel has a relaxed, friendly ambience and the woman who greeted us on arrival was really helpful and charming. It's about 20 minutes by taxi from Piraeus.

Note: This is NOT a party hostel.
Eva and the staff are amazing! Not once did I not feel completely at home. This is by far one of the best hostels you will stay at and there is an overwhelming feeling of comfort and family. The hostel has a dog that roams around and likes to be pet (sometimes), free coffee and tea at all times, and a small breakfast in the morning if you rise on time. Staff provide you with a map and a recommended walking path with food and sight recommendations throughout the city. Definitely would recommend this spot to stay again!

The staff are amazing. They make you feel like family. Eva helped me plan my itinerary for my first day and it was really good as I got to see what I wanted to see in Athens. Eva does an amazing job! We came in, and right away she had food waiting for us, and itinerary, a clean and beautiful room, and she even made a cake for my friend's 21st birthday! She did such a wonderful job going above and beyond! Everything was perfect! Not only did we have a hostel for a few nights, but a home.

Fantastic Hotel

Athens Quinta was really great. I stayed here for 5 nights with my girlfriend and we had a really great time. The room was really clean and very nicely decorated. The staff was fantastic and really friendly, really made us feel welcome. It's not in the most exciting neighborhood but it's a really quick walk to the metro station so that's not really a problem. Particularly for the price, you can't beat Athens Quinta.

More than worth the price

This is a great hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean. It is very well located in the central of Athens, and you will be able to walk to most of the attractions. Around the hotel, there are many good restaurants that enables you to sample the great Greek cuisines. The staff recommended 2 restaurants - Costas Sulaki, and Di Porto and both were really unique and very delicious. I will definitely make use of their services if I should ever return to Athens.

Starting from hostel's location: minutes walking from Lycabetus Hill, Sintagma Square and metro station - Bus stop is literally 10 steps away from the door.
I am a vintage lover so as soon as I've seem the images on the website I knew I was going to somewhere special - and yes, pictures don't make justice as the place is even more interesting than what the images show.
All items have been hand picked by one of the owners, Eva, who also owns a vintage shop down the road - another must to visit - save space on your luggage!
Eva, Aris and Stravulla.... Their energy is contagious and their motto is: each guest is treated as if they were guests in their own houses - and it is how it fells!
You can share a room or have one for yourself but we all end spending a lot of time in their cosy backyard, normally been served with homemade liquor (which smells like Christmas), fruits and one of Eva's mum baking specialities.
The rooms are clean, there are enough bathrooms in the house, the beds are extra comfortable.
The value for money is quite unbelievable.
I will come back soon! So totally recommended!

Amazing Hostel!

The hospitality of these kind and generous people is truly amazing. The hostel is always clean and it has been a joy to stay here. Close to everything and yet it doesn't feel as if I'm in the middle of a city.

Die Unterkunft ist einfach, aber sauber und vor allem schön kühl. Frühstück ist wenig Angebot, aber wer morgens gerne Joghurt, früchte und Cornflakes isst, findet alles.

Wirklich hübsch, aber einiges ist ausbaufähig.

Es ist ein wirklich hübsches kleines Hostel. Täglich sieht man das Reinigungspersonal was versucht alles sauber zu halten. Die Stockbetten müssten allerdings oben auch mal vom Staub befreit werden, die Toiletten und Duschen waren immer sauber.
Die Stockbetten sind recht instabil und könnten mal erneuert werden.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Frühstück ist allerdings ausbaufähig.

J'ai trouvé l'auberge excellente, est-ce que j'aimais le plus c'est une petite auberge avec deux chambres séparées de 6 lits, et d'autres avec 1,2 et 3 lit.

L'intérieur de l'auberge c'est super beaux, plancher en bois, très belle décoration.
On a l'impression d'être à la maison mais une maison de grande famille avec plein de monde et des chambres super

Nous avons été très bien reçues. Le personnel est à l'écoute et disponible. L'établissement est impeccable. Bien qu'un un peu excentré, le métro est facilement accessible et le quartier mérite d'être découvert.

Gran atención, excelente experiencia

Muy buena experiencia, los encargados nos ayudaron con indicaciones para poder entrar, ya que nuestro vuelo se atrasó y llegamos más tarde de lo presupuestado. El desayuno muy bueno. El lugar está a 13 min caminando desde la estación de metro panepistimios. Se puede llegar caminando al centro.

Una joya de hotel en un barrio espantoso

El hotel es PRECIOSO. Es una casa antigua, como si te invitaran a la casa de tu abuela en donde todo es antiguo pero super cuidado y lindo. Todo impecable. La vajilla es hermosa, la recepción, todo está prolijo, limpio. Me quedé en una habitación privada. Me dejaron una notita en la puerta para recibirme porque llegué tarde. Te dejan el desayuno hecho en la cocina cada mañana, hay un jardín y una terraza para comer. Un lujo.
Pero la zona donde está....de noche...Dios mío. Un espanto. La zona de verdad es muy fea. Pasamos por una placita que queda cerca buscando un lugar para cenar con mi marido, estan vendiendo droga como si nada, lleno de gente mega ebria, olor a orina por todos lados, todo sucio, oscuro, vandalizado. Si la idea es cnocer Atenas y no salir de noche el hotel es ideal porque es de los más lindos que conocí. Ahora, para salir de noche la zona es para evitar 100%.
