We reserved a executive suite and it had a Jacuzzi but no shower, the room was cold and we could not heat it up even when we out the thermostat to 30. It is a run down hotel that needs a lot of up keep. Don’t trust the pictures. The staff (especially Stella and Eros) did what they could to help is even offering the shower in the gym as an alternative. The only issue with the gym shower is that hot water is limited and an instant flood is created when you turn the water on.

We loved the view, just off the main area so it was very quiet while being convenient. The breakfast was delicious and a wide variety in the morning with wonderful coffee. Everyone was helpful and kind and we loved our stay!

The hotel is perfect for visiting Lycenbettus Hill, and the surrounding neighbourhood had some great restaurant options (check out Frankie’s!). The room was okay, but there were some signs of wear and our door looked to have been forced open during a previous stay, which meant the automatic digital lock didn’t work. Thankfully the receptionist gave us a key instead. The pool was a great bonus, but a little worse for wear in places.

The location is very residential, which is safe and calm, but also a good 15-20 minute walk down hill to anything - and I do mean anything. And that means the return is all up hill. On the positive side, our 2-bedroom suite was spacious and well stocked. Something I did not realize while booking, the rooftop pool shares a space with an outdoor restaurant, and it closes at 7pm to accommodate the diners. And while the staff were helpful with arranging airport transfers, don’t ask for recommendations, directions or for anything else in general.

The property is located close proximity to everything. It was walking distance to the peak of Athen with the best view of the city. It is very convenient and safe! The hotel has a great view from the rooftop with a bar and a pool. It’s absolutely beautiful!

Brilliant family stay

Couldn't have asked for more for our stay in central Athens with the children. They were so accommodating and lovely. They even opened breakfast early for us to make our taxi transfer to the ferry.
Children loved the pool!
We just used it to sleep at night and were out all day.

It was a great experience. The team at the Duke were lovely and assisted in everything we needed. Breakfast was the ultimate with everything freshly cooked and a great start for the day ahead. Sintagma station was on a 20min walk away…downhill. The only negative was, a hilly climb to get back to the hotel after each day but I needed the exercise anyway😄. Great experience…THX Bill

Déjeuner inclus mais début à 8h alors qu’on doit quitter tôt pour l’aéroport! Etrange pour un hôtel offrant le transport aéroportuaire avec des frais…
L’espace piscine était plutôt un refuge de party sans surveillance et très négligée par les déchets des occupants :-(

We had a very pleasant stay at The Duke Boutique hotel. We really appreciated how the staff went the extra mile to help with early check -in, taxi and even early breakfast when we left!
The neighborhood is very quiet and safe and beautiful. The location is not very central but it makes it more quiet, which we enjoyed.
The hotel and the room are nicely decorated and well equipped. The only negative point is Wifi, which was slow and not always working as expected. All the rest was great!

Beautiful hotel in a very safe area. Most attractions were within a walking distance. We came in the low season so the pool and rooftop patio area was not maintained which was unfortunate. The staff were awesome, very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was decent, we didn’t starve by any means. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The beds were soft and very comfortable.

The hotel is located in an awesome area, but with a lot of hills so it’s difficult to access for people that have walking disabilities. Otherwise is very central located. The staff at the reception was very helpful, but the hotel is not as clean as expected. generally speaking, the facility is good, but they have to keep it up and breakfast was very mediocre.

The location can be a bit challenging if you are not willing to walk 1 mile (inclined) from the historical center to the hotel. We loved the walk back to the hotel after having a nice dinner.

Super safe location. It is my understanding some high-level politician lives around so the police is all over.

The room was cleaned and modern. Front desk people were very helpful.

Pool area need to TLC. Because the tiles were coming off the pool, and there was three panels by the pool that had cracks in them.
It does not say on the website about the Steep Hill the 99 steps to get to the hill and then the hill and climbing back up again no good for wheelchair users or people with pushchairs.
Hotel was excellent very good breakfast the only thing I would say about breakfast is your only allowed one coffee. The room was excellent.

Friendly staff, helpful as needed (brought us an extra pillow at night) and were very kind upon check in.

Definitely wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in but definitely not the best, and for the price I would have expected better. The whole hotel smelled so strongly of highly perfumed cleaning products to the point where I could smell it before we even walked in the hotel. I'm definitely sensitive to strong smells but it was almost unbearable and instantly got a headache, and my partner even mentioned it. Woke up feeling badly from the chemicals.

The room was the same - strong smell and not the cleanest. At first glance it was nice, large room with separate sitting/TV area, however it was clear the room had a decent amount of wear and tear and hadn't been fixed in awhile. Not the most comfortable bed, very odd bathroom that leaked, rusty.

We booked this hotel just for one night between airport travel from the islands and out of Athens, but if we'd been staying longer we would have found a different hotel.

Best beds we had our entire trip to Greece!

Staff was excellent, making sure we had the transfers we needed and providing great tips and wven a box breakfast to go when we had to leave early. Dont miss the secret view of the acropolis from the pool. Walking distance to everything, but away from the crowded loud streets of the immediate acropolis area. Value for your money at this location and even heard from other travelers they like to stay in this hotel chain.

Not for the mobility challenged

Nobody tells you how far away and how high up this place is. Totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Location wise it's just not very good. Basically it's on the side of a hill with terrible access up steep hills and lots and lots of steep steps.

Bed was ok but way too soft.. Sit on the edge and you'll end up on the floor...

Breakfast nice, staff lovely and helpful.

Pool area was nice but quite small..

We had a great stay at the Duke, the staff was exceptional! Breakfast was very good. Our room was cool with a little kitchenette, and the setting was very unique for a city, backing right up to a park. It was a very safe neighborhood with police all around because I believe the president lives nearby. However, you are not close to much. It’s several blocks in any direction before you see shops, or coffee, shops, or restaurants, and it’s about a 15 minute walk on a hill to get to the nearest metro. The cool part of Kolonaki is a little ways away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and found the room nice and modern, although the Wi-Fi was completely insufficient, and the room was stuffy and smelled bad.

We stayed here for two nights. The staff was great and provided great suggestions for local restaurants. The room was good (2 adults 17/12 yr old). The breakfast was great too. The actual hotel is located on a steep uphill. I would definetely recommend. .

Clean modern hotel with a rooftop bar and pool at the bottom of lycabettus hill. Quiet area, lots of police presence so very safe; we were able to walk to shops in the area easily. Guest services was friendly and knowledgeable.

I booked this hotel for the pool and we stayed here for 3 nights and they were fixing the pool and we didn’t get to use it once. Some staff members were very helpful and nice, while some were disengaged and couldn’t be bothered. I know it’s a vacation but I needed to log into work and the wifi connection isn’t the best here unless you are only sending/receiving emails/texts. I couldn’t do a zoom call as the internet wasn’t reliable. Overall, there are so many hotels around almost every corner, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Mixed bag.

A solid mixed bag - definitely not suitable for families.

Pros: Safe area, and the service was good.
Cons: location is not far but a hike up a pretty huge hill to walk back and forth from. Also it does not allow for buses to come up the narrow streets. In addition, the rooms are really small. We had booked a room big enough for 4 but really it was way too tiny (we couldn’t even squeeze our luggage through). Lastly, it’s a decent hotel for cleanliness but a lot of it was just a fancy facade - no locks on the toilet, a weird shower that spat out ice or lava, and a barely working AC.

I think it’s a great place if you were a couple. But for families, this would be a no from me.

Interior design was exceptional. Property is located across the street from the private residence of Greece's president, so the security couldn't be better. Nice dining options a short walk downhill, and not too bad walking back up. Perched near the top of Lycabettus, Athen's highest point is a huge plus. Breakfast was in line with the quality and taste of the rest of the property.

The hotel was a little difficult to navigate given the altitude and slope. It was, however, across the street from the prime minister’s home which made it very safe ( police everywhere). We did not have very much closet space and we were there for 6 nights. It’s better for shorter stays. No shower caps, so bring your own.
Breakfast was very good as was the rooftop outdoor pool/patio area..

As a single female traveller, I was cautious about the location of this hotel, but I had no issues and enjoyed the early morning walk up Lycabettus Hill, which was almost adjacent. The staff were extremely helpful & resolved any requests very quickly

Nice property & rooms. Nice pool. Front desk staff great!! Fair price. 4/5 because the shower & sink drains do not drain fast, & water leaked all over the bathroom floor like a flood. We had to use all our towels to mop it up. Owners are on property by rooftop bar or breakfast room. They ignore you & don't ask you anything about your stay & the accommodations. Don't even say Hello. No greeting or courtesy from the owners to the guests. May not be the custom, but it was obvious that they were the owners. They should at least greet the customers.

The property was hard to get to if you walking due to it being near the top of a hill. We had a lot of problems with locking the door of our room. The cleaners twice did not lock it after cleaning the room which is a serious security risk. Why have a nice apartment and a second rate key system for door? The bed was too soft with little back support, The breakfast was really good quality.

Room was very comfy and had everything you need for a city break

Location was very convenient but also calm and relaxing

Only downside was that the pool was unfortunately out of action during our stay

Unexpected disappointment

Stayed here for two nights after a week in corfu. Not what I was expecting from the photos on their site. Reception staff were friendly. Walls in the bedroom marked and dirty. Shampoo bottle in shower empty. Roof terrace pretty small with inexperienced bar staff basically hanging out with there friends. Green build up around the outside of the pool. Management and staff arguing behind the bar at breakfast, shouldn't be done in front of guests. We put a special request for the bedroom as it is our honeymoon whick was ignored. No extra blankets or pillows. Overall pretty disappointing.

Hotel itself was lovely, nice size suite and great customer service. The rooftop pool is more of a plunge pool than swimming pool but nice to cool off in. And i mean gool off as its not heated and was like an ice bath lol. Probably gets warmer into the summer. The only drawback is that its atop a very steep hill which is a hard walk every day or twice a day sometimes. Is approx 25 minutes walk from the Acropolis.
