St. Moritz is not your typical hotel. It offers multiple sleeping options. This trip, I had a room with a private bathroom. There are options with shared single sex bathrooms as well (I have done that previously). My room was great, just off the pool. Very clean, comfortable bed and nice linens. Housekeeping was excellent. The grounds crew did a great job managing the snowfall.

Very nice continental breakfast. Good quality food. Nothing elaborate, but it offers what you need for a good start to your day. Very European. Coffee and tea available anytime.

The staff is top notch. They were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the Aspen area. (Special shoutout to Tom). Genuinely interested in your wellbeing and making sure you are having an enjoyable time.

Common spaces (lounge with fireplace and piano, eating area, and outdoor pool and wonderful steam room) were great. These spaces facilitate, in a wonderful way, meeting many of the guests.

This is a rare find in today’s abundance of dime a dozen bargain hotels and the $1000+ resorts. This was my second visit. I look forward to my return. Many of the guests I spoke with visit year after year. I think that says something.

This is probably the best value stay in Aspen town. The location is very close to all the ski buses (5min walk) and you are about 5 blocks from downtown where all the restaurants are.
There is free parking and the breakfast is included (fresh bagels and fruit every morning). We had a well equipped kitchenette in the room with a nice bathroom and radiant heat.
The hot tub and steam room are a bonus after skiing.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive option in the village of Aspen, this is the best of the best. The employees are lovely, the morning breakfast has b&b vibes, the pool is always steaming and hot and it’s walkable to Ajax mountain and everything in town. Highly recommend

Reasonably priced in a high end, resort town. Lobby/Living Room absolutely gorgeous, like a Hallmark movie! My room was perfect. Clean and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was right across the hall and spotless. I had everything I needed, and felt safe and comfortable. Location was perfect, just a few blocks from the Aspen Town Center. I would absolutely recommend, and plan to comeback for a girls weekend with my best friend.

We had an overall great stay, just like last year. We love how warm and inviting the entire experience is - cider and cookies and popcorn! My son left his backpack in our room and Clarisa took it to UPS to have it shipped to our house. Clarisa is probably the best part of our experience - she’s welcoming, helpful, and genuinely interested in the guests. Aspen is lucky to have this hotel for those of us who don’t have oodles of $ but still love to visit this town. Please don’t ever sell :).

This is a very affordable, clean hotel within walking distance of downtown Aspen, nestled against a beautiful mountain, with easy parking. A great surprise was a fantastic book selection at the front desk. This morning was great coffee and tea (with lots of choices for tea drinkers, which we're not). Overall, it's a great choice for non-super rich people who'd like to visit Aspen but don't want to spend close to $1,000 night.

Check in was a breeze and the guy on the desk (Tom) gave a lot of useful information after finding out it was our first visit to Aspen. The property is a little dated, but extremely clean, comfortable, and convenient. I'd rather stay in it than a more luxurious, modern property. Walking down into town was a breeze, the location is quiet overnight, and the breakfast, hot drinks and cookies were all nice touches we enjoyed. If you're looking for something affordable, clean, safe, and comfortable without the luxurious dressings of a bigger hotel, then this is the spot to pick.

Way over priced for what we received. This was my first time staying in Aspen, so maybe it's like this everywhere there, but I was very disappointed in the room and the hotel for what we paid. We booked a 2 room \"condo\", however the layout was beyond bizarre. There were only 2 rooms, no common room. The bathroom could barely be called a water closet, it was so small I couldn't sit properly on the toilet. As a matter of fact, after the first time, I refused to take a number 2 in that bathroom. It was that small and uncomfortable. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable to sleep on, 2 worse nights of sleep I've had in a hotel. Plus, we couldn't control the HVAC in our unit, I'm guessing it was being controlled by another unit. One room was too cold, and the other too hot. There was a small fridge and microwave in the closet on one of the bedrooms. There were signs posted everywhere to be \"Bear Aware\", yet forced to park blocks away as there is nowhere near enough parking on the property. Lastly, the free breakfast was uninspiring. Mostly of store bought prepackaged muffins, cold cereals, and unripe fruit. For $400 plus per night, I expected better. Not to be all negative, the staff are really nice. It's in a good location, easy walking to the main shopping and food area.

These were the perfect accommodations for us! The rooms are old but well kept and clean. We were a little worried when we found the room didn’t have air conditioning but it was actually fine when we stayed (early July 2025). Walkable from downtown to restaurants and shops. The staff was incredibly friendly and offered us happy hour wine when we arrived. He also gave us a map and showed us all his favourite places to eat! We didn’t get a chance to check out the pool or the breakfast.

I wanted an affordable place. Here you get a room with a small fridge. The window opens for fresh air. One bath per floor was in excellent shape and clean. The grounds were beautiful. Check in with Tom was painless and easy.
Room was small but totally adequate for one person, one night. Left too early to enjoy the coffee and breakfast that they offer.
Location is on the edge of town, but get perfectly safe.

I love staying at the Moritz! My 3rd time over the years now. Always clean, charming, beautiful, peaceful. The outdoor heated pool and steamroom are delightful. The view of Aspen mountain is breathtaking. Staff is friendly. 5 stars!!!

Charming Gem of a Hotel

Charming gem of a small hotel on a quiet side street walking distance to the center of town. Beautiful garden and blue tiled pool. Very comfortable room and quiet.

Quirky hotel,great location, space for family

Needed a two bedroom option and condo set up at St Moritz was more budget friendly vs two hotel rooms. Great location. Nice staff. Our room was spacious with full kitchen. The hotel is quirky and a little worn down. Lots of construction on adjacent lot. Unfortunately construction noise started as early as 7am and lasted as late as 830pm.

It's not the Ritz but great budget stay in Aspen

Nothing but good things to stay about the St. Moritz. It is not to be confused with the Ritz, for sure, but for a frugal travel, it is excellent. Shared bath, tiny room but very clean, staff are nice, and solid breakfast. Great location right in town. Easily and pleasantly walkable.

The Inn was staffed by some of the most friendly, kindest humans I've ever encountered in a hotel. I felt like I was staying at a family member's home. My room was impeccably clean. There's nothing in the room you don't need, and it looks a little dated, but it's well-kept and the bed was super comfy. Even with the slew of hotels available in Aspen, I would stay here again for the fabulous mix of extremely walkable (it was super easy to get to both Aspen Institute and to downtown/Main St), super friendly, and clean and comfortable. A really great find in a beautiful town!
