We had an absolute blast at this resort — everything about it was amazing! What stood out most for us was how family-friendly it was. Each restaurant had something for the kids to do, and it was never frowned upon to have them run around — quite the opposite. The staff was incredible with our children and made us feel so welcome. We’re all the way from Canada and would absolutely come back. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

We stayed at Candia Park for the last 3 nights of a delightful vacation in Crete where we sampled 4 different hotels. We had great expectations for Candia based on its appointment as a 4-star resort (and high cost) and the photos on Expedia. We were very disappointed and felt totally overcharged spending so much on a basic room with no amenities.

The location is lovely and the grounds are nicely laid but the studio itself was outdated, extremely bare bones, and dark and musty with a patio facing another building. The bathroom had mildew that smelled so strong that we had to keep the windows open. Pictures on the website are totally misleading.

Candia was also unwelcoming. At check in, the front desk politely sent us to our room with an emailed PDF to explain the grounds of the resort and what was available, leaving us confused about access to the beach. Very impersonal. We were given three very hard pillows for our three guests, nothing extra in any part of the room. No amenities at all.

We did not eat at the resort. but it would have been impossible to cook in the little kitchen given the impractical utensils in the room (a ladle, a big fork and a bread knife).

Such a contrast to the less expensive hotels we stayed at in Crete which, even when simple, were warm and had so many thoughtful personal touches.

We had a good stay at Candia resorts. The property looks lovely, the rooms were clean, the food was good. However, we had several concerns. Primarily, we had called in advance and been assured that almost 4 year old would be allowed to attend Kids Club alone, but when we arrived we were told this was not possible. We were frustrated as we had booked entirely on this basis. It took over 24 hours for us to be able to contact a manager, who then suggested that I shouldn't trust the kids club to look after my child. The approach to their error was really disappointing.

We generally found communication poor, our room was set up for the wrong number of people and we often didn't have the correct towels in the room.

Overall the resort was lovely, but the customer service was disappointing.

Candia Park is a really beautiful low-rise resort with two fantastic pools and a beautiful beach. The rooms in the property are very clean and modern with plenty of space and good air conditioning. We loved the on-site taverna where the food was excellent. The breakfast and evening buffet were pretty good, though not authentically Greek since they catered to the mostly British and German guests. They had good kid dining options at each restaurant. Our main issue was with the communication at the property: we travelled in July with friends who had a 6yo and 3yo due to turn 4 in October. We have 4yo twins and I called the hotel in advance to ask if our friend's 3yo could use the kids club without parents present and was told it would be no problem since he would be in with his older sister and was \"almost 4\". Once we arrived it was a different story and we were informed this was not allowed. This was very disappointing since it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. In the end we managed to work out an agreement with the hotel, so our friend's son could use the kids club at certain times and if parents were at the Taverna restaurant within visible distance. However, we also discovered other guests had been told something similar. This didn't give a great impression, since there is clearly a communication issue between management and the reservations desk, leading to disappointed guests. Aside from this issue, it is a lovely resort with very nice facilities.

We stayed 3 days. The weather was a bit chilly which I did not expect in august. The pool was cold and it was very windy. Not sure if it was just at that time or if it's always like that. The beach is small but ok. The sea was also on the colder side. When we went to the west side of the island, the sea temperature was much better. The property is beautiful. Room is prety outdated. The bathroom looked renovated though. We were on the ground floor. When my kids left a piece of food on the bed, bunch of ants gathered on it. Did not use all that the hotel offers, because of the short stay. We did see one show with baloons that my kids enjoyed. The hotel was full of families with young kids. Had only breakfast included which was ok. Check in/out very quick. Nice front desk employees.

Solid 4-star property. Beautiful resort with lovely landscaping and stunning sea views. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the private beach. You truly feel like you're on holiday when you're on the grounds. The food that we did try was a bit so, so and not cheap. The only slight downside is that because the resort is only reachable by a private and secured driveway, if you want to venture off resort for food, you have to drive. But overall, it's a gorgeous property to just relax at the pool and enjoy the stunning views.

We had great time in the hotel. This hotel is perfect for families, good facilities, clean and modern, good and professional staff.
Things needed to improve are: We ate twice in the hotel's restaurant and the food wasn't tasty, so we drove to other Taverns in the area and prepared food in the room. The Mini market at the hotel is over priced and there are no sugar or salt in the room.

Beautiful spacious hotel grounds/big balcony

Stayed 3 days in October at this exceptional hotel. There are many options for sun beds at the pool or beach in the sun or shade and never a problem to find one available. Our room was spacious and had a nice large balcony with seaview which I think they upgraded us. We went with the meal plan of buffet breakfast and dinners in which there was a big selection to suit everyone. Many families with young children stayed while we were here so at times, the buffets were quite busy but always enough food for everyone. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The only slightly negative point I did not give five stars for, was upon checking out we ordered their shuttle taxi service to the airport and someone was to get our luggage from our rooms. Unfortunately no one came before the taxi arrived so we carried the luggage ourselves. I would still recommend to others as a great place !

Relaxed family resort with something for everyone

We had a super 10 days and although it was mid-August and very busy, the resort didn't feel too crowded and we could always find a good place to sit during the day. Plenty of options in the shade as well as the sun. Pool area was very busy but not surprising given it was peak season. Water sports centre offers a range of things but a bit pricey.

Mixed clientele - UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Russia. Most with children under 12. Very civilised, relaxed kind of atmosphere

Meal times were well organised too with buffets being constantly topped up. Comfortable accommodation with very clean rooms and good sized space - it's not luxury but doesn't pretend to be. Minimart on site provides all the essentials so no drama if you've forgotten something.

Brilliant holiday. Room basic but spotless and very adequate. Pool area lovely with ample sun loungers. Pity pool shuts at 6-7pm, would have been nice to go for a swim in evening. Food very good, lots to choose from. Supermarket on site - not the best but ok - very expensive, as was Crete in general, reflecting poor Greek economy plus low pound value to Euro following Brexit. Scuba diving instructor very good. Staff nice,polite and friendly.

Lovely stay, great for a family

Loved our stay, great family environment, friendly staff, good food, super pools, comfortable apartment with balcony gave us some options and meant it was more relaxing in the evening when kids were asleep.

Things to improve on:

high chairs - most were not fully functional and missing straps, dirty, with the backs tilted too far back so it was not safe for our 6 month old to sit in them. This meant he was on our laps for meal times which was not relaxing.

Cot beds - fitted sheets for the cot beds would be better as the cleaning staff made the bed up with sheets that were too big for the cot and the material kept coming loose. This is not safe for a baby. Also cot bed matresses were not firm enough. Again not safe for a baby.

Mini club - our daughter was too young for this, but had she been 4 I'm not sure how happy I would have been to leave her. Children were free to come and go. There was no signing in system. And the staff seemed to do little to engage with the children from what I saw. However it did provide a nice alternative for my daughter in the afternoons.

Can't wait to go back again next summer and the summer after!

We had a very good experience in this hotel, the location was great, the area is very nice and calm and clean. The Greek people in that area are very friendly and polite. The food in all restaurants was very good but the food in Candia PArk was AWESOME & DELICIOUS!. We were so impressed by the tasty food, buffet breakfast is very rich and the fish/grill taverna that opens for lunch is something to look forward to in our next visit. EVen the Kids Club was well maintained, nice staff, my 4 yrs old enjoyed playing with the other kids in the afternoon after swimming in the nice pool. The pools are all very clean and well maintained. But the most impressing of all is waking up and opening your window to the most stunning sea view I have ever seen!
Worth it worth it this place to be recommended highly. My husband is a very picky guy and he loved it!

We hebben een mooi verblijf gehad met familie en kinderen. Het is een goed hotel met een leuke sfeer. Het strand is mooi, hoewel de kade met de watersporten het beeld een beetje verpest. Daar tegenover staat wel dat je met gemak water sporten kan doen (tegen betaling). Het eten is redelijk, wel met veel variatie. De service is redelijk, maar het is wel wat ongeorganiseerd en chaotisch. Design van het resort is leuk. Het belangrijkste is dat het een zeer kind en familie vriendelijke hotel is met activiteiten en een mini club voor de kids. Ik denk niet dat je hier moet komen zonder jonge kinderen, want anders wordt je gek. Al met al een goede ervaring gehad.

We found the accommodation to be overrated, the complex is of a Greek 4 star standard and is not well maintained. The buffet restaurant is designed for mass tourism and accordingly. Sunbeds were already reserved with towels by guests at 8am, so that we didn't get a free sunbed after breakfast (during the high season in August). The village of Agios Nikolaos is nearby and can be reached by car, otherwise there are few activities.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden hier jederzeit wieder unsere Ferien verbringen. Eine wunderbare Hotelanlage im Stil eines Dorfes mit einer schönen und grossen Poolanlage, einem gleich darunter gelegenem privatem und bezauberndem Strandabschnitt und äusserst freundlichem Personal. Magnifique séjour. Nourriture variée et excellente. Un peu loin de tout sans voiture mais l'option taxi nous a convenu. Grand complexe hôtelier au charme crétois fait de petites maisons de village. Malgré cela nous avons toujours trouvé de la place autour de la piscine ou à la plage privée qui est splendide (sable). Une autre plage privée non surveillée (cailloux) est également disponible avec plus de vagues et de courant. La suite front de mer est de tout confort et l'agencement moderne et récent est splendide.

Hyvä ja monipuolinen hotelli

Pienlapsiperheiden suosima hotelli syrjässä kaupungin vilskeestä.

Huoneistosta löytyi perusastiasto 4-henkiselle perheellemme. Kylpyhuone oli remontoitu ja siisti, muuten huoneisto on hieman vanhahko, mutta yhä toimiva.

Parvekkeemme oli iso, joskin näkymät olivat muille parvekkeille, ei merelle. Merinäköalahuoneita ei ollut enää viime hetkellä varatessani vapaana. Sängyt ja tyynyt olivat epämukavan kovia ja osa pyyhkeistä puhki kuluneita. Muuten kaiken kaikkiaan toimiva huoneisto tarpeisiimme.
Siisteys hyvä. Huoneiston siivousta ei ollut saapumisen jälkeisenä päivänä, mutta muuten joka päivä.

Kiva iso allasalue ja reilusti aurinkopetejä ja -varjoja. Nätti pieni yksityinen ranta, jossa oli mukava polskutella aalloissa. Rannalle paistaa aurinko lähinnä aamulla/aamupäivällä, mutta suosittelen kokeilemaan myös iltauintia.

Aamiaisbuffet oli hyvä ja monipuolinen.
Illallisbuffet ei sisällä mitään juomia, ei myöskään vettä tai kahvia.
Myös illallisbuffet oli kuitenkin hyvä, joskin maisteltuani yhtä jos toista, sain valitettavasti ruokamyrkytyksen.
Välimatkat hotellilla olivat onneksi lyhyitä, joten ehdin ravintolasta kiirehtimään ajoissa huoneeseen.

Hotellin hintataso oli yllättävän korkea. Allasbaarista ostettu limsa tarjoiltiin ruskeasta pahvimukista ja se maksoi 6€. Perusdrinkit maksoivat 12€. Jäätelöbaarista sai kahden pienen pallon tötterön ~7€ hintaan. Hyvää toki oli sekin.

10 minuutin ajomatkan päässä läheisissä kylissä oli mukavia tavernoita.

Bella struttura in un ambiente molto bello (piscina e spiaggia molto belle, vista molto bella, mare molto bello). I giardini e le stradine del villaggio sono molto ben curate e gradevoli (piene di piante e fiori molto ben tenuti).
Visto il prezzo mi sarei aspettato una camera più moderna, un buffet meno banale e un minimo di animazione, senza contare che quasi tutto è a supplemento anche con la mezza pensione, le bevande calde a colazione, il tennis (15€/ora!), e anche l’acqua a cena (1.0 lt. di acqua gasata a €3.50 mi sembra un po’ eccessivo).

Nous y séjournons régulièrement. Le personnel est toujours en place. Nous apprécions l’endroit, la mer en particulier (plage privée). Nous aimons aussi le « food recycling » pratiqué à l’hôtel.

Fantastisk opphold på Candia Park Village for en familie på fire. Hotellet er veldig vakkert med sine små sjarmerende hus i forskjellige farger og frodige hager med vakker beplantning. Personalet hotell med veldig vennlig personale.

Super vaccances en famille

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour en famille (2 adultes 2 enfants). Le Candia est à taille humaine par rapport à d'autres paquebots de Grèce. La chambre avec vue sur mer refaite est un bonheur. La piscine est bien conçue. Il y a une petite plage et une jetée sur la mer. Mais le plus appréciable, c'est le sens du détail à tous niveaux et l'âme qui se dégage de cet établissement.
Par contre ne comptez pas sur une animation de folie. Il n'y en a pas. Il y a un spectacle de syrtaki et un de magie qui tournent chaque semaine.
Si votre objectif est de profiter du soleil en famille, c'est un très bel endroit.
Mention spéciale à la réception et aux femmes de ménage.
