Dolce Vita Residence is a great place to stay. The unit was clean and modern with a nice balcony. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Be aware that it is a taxi ride or long walk to town on a main road. There are also many stairs down to the unit. My advice travel light!

Such a beautiful property! Located in a great place with an amazing view if you go on the rooftop patio! Room was nice and spacious. Small walk to get down to the private beach that is gorgeous. It’s a bit longer of a walk to get into town, definitely doable minus the days we arrived and left cause we were lugging large backpacks around. One thing to note is that you do not check in at the location, you check in at the Regina hotel in town before going up. We made that mistake but they do tell you. Our host was so nice and drove us up the keys… thank god because we had such a long day! Over all great experience. There is lots of stairs to climb, but you are staying in an area where everything is stairs so that makes sense. There is a jacuzzi on the roof, it is not a hot tub more like a cold tub ha ha, which would most likely be nice in the summer, but it was a bit cold when we went. Overall great experience.

The photos over sell the property. There is no beach and the area by the water is full of trash and doesn’t appear to have been serviced in years. The path to walk down is extremely overgrown.

Positives: 1. the beach that's near the hotel is nice although most of it is used up by loungers for which you have to pay between 50 and 40 euros. But the water is very nice. 2. The room was pretty clean when we checked in.
Negatives: 1. The room had ants all over the kitchen. 2. No cleaning; if you want room service/cleaning, you have to pay extra. 3. No matter how long your stay is you get 2 bathroom towels (the big ones). We stayed there for 6 nights and had to make do with 2 towels for 2 ppl for 6 nights. 4. When you shower, the water leaks all over the bathroom floor cause it's not closed. 5. To get to and from Maiori, you have to walk on a highway/road that has no sidewalk (not safe and definitely not kids friendly). 6. There is no concierge or staff on site so if you have any issues, you have to call some WhatsApp number. On the last night, there were a couple of people screaming at 3am for about an hour (and what seemed like moving their furniture in the room right above ours) and we had to suffer through that without being able to call the front desk to ask them to deal with it. So it can be quite noisy depending on who else is staying there. We'd give it 3/5; if it weren't for the beach, we'd give it 2/5. If you have kids, we'd suggest booking somewhere else unless you are planning to stay in the residence the whole time and not go to the city.

Condo like stay

The hotel is more like condos, with kitchenette and there is no daily cleaning. The units are nice and roomy.

There are a lot of stairs, we had to go up and down about 10 flights of stairs each time to arrive and leave the hotel. Walkable to the Centro in about 15 minutes but you have to walk along the road which is on cliffs.

There is a beach at the hotel, but the majority is private (have to pay to rent chairs and umbrella). The public beach is tiny.

Please do not stay there if you want a relaxing holiday. Bugs all over the place, no pillows, no shuttle service, you have to walk uphill to get to the hotel. They charge you extra if you want to change towels. When u shower the water ends up flooding the floor. They don’t clean your room ever, if you want to get it cleaned you have to pay extra. There is no staff on the property whatsoever, so if you have any problem you’re on your own. There is no way to call the front desk either, there is a phone but it does not work. On top of that they charged us DOUBLE for the stay, and I have to deal with this now, not sure if they will return the money, this people don’t care about any of your concerns apparently

Good value and fairly pleasant overall

Good points:

Clean, comfortable, spacious apartment in quiet location, with kitchen, balcony and sun deck.

Walking distance from semi-private cove and local resort, with good choice of restaurants, supermarkets, bars, gelato, beach, boat trips, etc.

Effective air-conditioning and good showers.

Bad points:

‘Outdoor pool’ is a COLD-water jacuzzi. Gets tepid by end of day from sun if you’re lucky.

Parking inconvenient (either pay 20 Euro per night and wait for your car to be driven several km by staff, find paid parking in town and walk up the hill to the apartment or negotiate a space at restaurant opposite).

Semi-private cove below apartment is full of litter and mainly pebbles, with some black sand. Steps down to cove fairly overgrown and messy.

Local cat makes itself at home - may affect anyone with allergy.

Overall:

Good value and a fairly pleasant base from which to explore the Amalfi coastline.

Have to say accommodation was better than we were expecting. Of course though as Amalfi coast the stairs and heavy luggage were a bit of an issue, next time we will travel more lightly. Would be nice if area going down to beach was cleaned up some, but assume that area is accessible to more that just these residences. We had a great stay

This place was not up to par whatsoever, however it was an ok (questionable “ok”) price given the location and time of year. In the very last apartment down the stairs so was a hike to get back up and into the town(, but I had expected this from other reviews). Room was not cleaned during our stay and we were 3. It was somewhat strange as we did see the cleaner at other apartments. No towel replacement. No shower curtain so it looked like a tsunami hit even if you had taken a 2 minute shower. Ants everywhere, however they were everywhere in general during our time there and I know they can be difficult to control. Pillows were as flat as pancakes. One upside was the view. Definitely would not have thought it was worth it if it wasn’t in the Amalfi Coast

I spent six very relaxing nights at the Dolce Vita residence, and really can't recommend highly enough. The apartments are modern and well maintained, it's in a very peaceful location just outside Maiori and if you're looking for somewhere that offers some independence and tranquility but a short walk from bars restaurants shops and what not then the Dolce Vita is for you.

Things to know:
1 the rooms aren't cleaned daily but will be pristine when you arrive with enough towels etc for your stay.
2. it is a short walk (5-10 minutes) from Maiori to the residence, and largely uphill but is easily doable, at night one small section of the road is quite dark but I wouldn't let that put you off
3. the kitchen area is small but the stove and fridge are pristine and there are enough utensils and crockery for you to look after yourself quite easily comma tip take a corkscrew though that's the one thing that was missing!
4. there isn't a reception desk on site so I think for the most part check-in has to be done at the Regina Palace hotel in Maiori; if you're arriving by car I'd recommend popping in there or at least contacting the residence before you travel to make sure that you are in the right place (you wouldn't want to have to walk with your cases and back especially if it was either bad weather or very warm and sunny.) Once you have your key card be aware you don't have to put the key in the actual door or press the handle but just swipe it over the pad next to the door

Very clean, very good view. The description was fairly accurate, I booked a \"two bedroom\" place, but it ended up being a 1 bedroom with a sofa bed in the main room. We knew we would have to walk on the road and up some stairs, but it wasn't really that bad. Check-in was annoying because they don't give you any help getting to the place or even offer a shuttle (we were willing to pay). Overall it is a great value for the price. All they would have to do for 5 stars is simplify the check-in experience and not lie about the bedrooms

Serious parking issues, lots of stairs

Very bad experience. The apartment is beautiful and has lots of light and airflow, but the issues outweigh the few good things.

It is very clean, but don’t leave your food out due to ants. If you have a car, don’t come here at all because parking is an issue. It is insanely expensive all around and you’re not allowed to park in many spots. You can park with “some guy” who is associated with the property for €12/night, but you may not see your car again for a very long time. This guy doesn’t answer his phone so you have to call the hotel to contact him, and they will say he will be there in ten minutes. He might be there in fifteen minutes if you’re lucky; the second time we waited for an hour in the heat on the side of the highway. The only other way to get out is to walk along a tiny, windy highway to the town, quite dangerous if you’re older (or for anyone really) because the traffic drives fast and the buses are huge.

There are a lot of stairs, which are not an option for people with mobility issues. We had to help my mother up and down the steps so it took a long time each way. To get down to the beach was impossible for her. Completely ruined the experience of being on the amalfi coast.

The wifi is below average and my cell service was too spotty to use, so connection to the outside world was a bit limited. There was no water, coffee, tea, paper towels, or iron provided.

Our view was of the bushes, not the beach/ocean.

Overall bad experience.

Attractive modern apartment we had No 5 with very large balcony and stunning views of sea below. Only downfall 96 steps but it was worth it soon got used to it. Would highly recommend and certainly would stay again. Check in at the hotel was quick and easy and receptionist very friendly.

This hotel is for you, if you love hardship

This review is not about Italy, but about the hotel Dolce Vita Residence. It looks good, but it's not for you, if you expect a relaxing and enjoying hotel service.
1. The address on Expedia, where you must arrive to, is not the actual place to reside. We came there at 9 pm on Saturday, nobody was inside. We checked in the lobby of Reginna Palace hotel located in the same building. You can enter from another side – bright and alive. We have no idea, why this address (that is easier to find and is not that shockingly dark) wasn't given.
2. Do not let your taxi go! As we said you would reside in another place that is in about 4000-5000 feet along the seashore, and you can get there by a curvy and narrow road shared with cars, scooters and buses (the locals call it \"la strada mamma mia\"). It's not that fun to walk without a sidewalk with suitcases in the dark. Add an 8-floor narrow and steep stairway leading to your apartment that you need to climb every time you want something to eat.
3. The beach on the pictures is not yours. Only a tiny piece (no umbrellas no chairs) belongs to Dolce Vita. One umbrella costs 15 euros to rent. No beach towels.
4. The apartment is OK, but ours had a broken shower. We claimed it, but nobody came to fix it. And nobody came to clean up. We needed to pay for fresh towels to the hotel staff. The internet is bad and there's no cellular signal.
5. Keep out of using Stamtours. They will definitely make a \"small\" mistake that would cost you money.

15 min. walk from Maiori. With no parking space.

First looks and also feels amazing:
- the big terraces
- the sunny jacuzzi area & beds around it
- the view; mountains, seaview and sounds of the waves

but, there are some limitations...
- the beautiful small beach below is 90% owned/used by a nearby hotel with all the sunbeds and umbrellas. You can not even pay for or rent them :((
- if you plan to use your (own or rented) car, be prepared that you can not park at the apartment :((
- so you rather leave your car at the city (Maiori), or the hotel will take your car and will carge you 12 euro every day for that, in which case you have to call them every time when you want to use it. And then wait between 15-45 minutes to get your car. Unfortunatelly there is no mobile phone connection at the bay area so you also have to walk 5 minutes to able to call them... :(
- if you want to walk back to the city (Maiori) for shopping, eating or to swim at the larger beach, you have to walk (with your family) 15 minutes on a very narrow road, where buses and cars are driving only 10 cm near you... :(
- the beautiful and narrow road curves also means that every bus will push the horn every time in every curves. Quite disturbing when you want to read or relax on your beautiful terrace... :(

Lovely apartment with average service

The apartment was lovely, clean and had everything we needed the only downside was the service and the smell of sewage outside the apartment!

Despite complaining about aircon that didn't work for the first two nights (due to a it being on a thermostat setting with no instructions/manual) and the strong smell of sewage, nothing was done to address/help with either of those issues by the reception staff at the hotel.

The apartment and location were good, no issues with the check-in at the hotel and the walk into the centre along the road was fine. It was just let down by the service.

The Apartment is out of town slightly but just of one of the windy Amalfi roads so not great for walking to and from with cars tightly driving past.
My main issue was not location though, it was the small studio box room that we were staying in with a fold down bed that had the worst mattress i have ever stayed on with it. It was like sleeping on rough concrete and meant neither me nor my friend slept. The hotel looking after the apartment bookings did respond well when I complained and moved us to another apartment but the beds were still very poor. Credit to the hotel though for their attempts to resolve this.
My only other issue was that it wasnt clear that the check in for the apartment was to be done at a hotel in the centre of Maori so I arrived at the apartment (15 min walk away) with 3 suitcases of luggage to find out that we needed to head back to the town to check in. again I would credit the hotel who sent a porter on a moped to drive one of us back to check in and then dropped me back off.
I wouldnt stay here again due to the comfort levels but would stay in the sister hotel.

Worst stay ever! Not enough space to say how bad

Questa non sarà una bella recensione. Apppena siamo entrati nell'appartamento abbiamo trovato un'invasione di formiche in diversi angoli. Abbiamo cercato di contattare la reception (che si trova a circa 1-2 km di distanza in paese, per cui non immediatamente raggiungibile) ma ci siamo accorti che la linea wifi e telefono erano molto lenti e non prendevan bene. Dopo circa 1 ora senza alcuna risposta, abbiamo rifatto i 115 gradini, abbiamo preso la macchina e siamo riandati all'agenzia. Qui la responsabile della struttura, di fronte al problema delle formiche e alla richiesta di trovarci una sistemazione alternativa o quantomeno un indennizzo economico (il soggiorno non valeva il prezzo a quelle condizioni) ci ha risposto che avere le formiche in camera è normale per quella zona, che tutti ce le hanno e che era colpa nostra perchè avevamo prenotato tramite Hotels, che tiene questi problemi nascosti. Prenotando dal loro sito invece sarebbe stato chiaro perchè la struttura lo evidenzia sul sito. Totalmente falso. Nessun accenno ad invasioni di formiche o wifi lento sul loro sito. Così ci hanno detto di contattare noi stessi Hotels e chiedere un rimborso. In questo caso avremmo dovuto lasciare immediatamente la struttura. Alla fine abbiamo convissuto 3 giorni con le formiche, che ci sono entrati anche in macchina. Tentato di contattare Hotels 4 volte ma senza alcun risultato, per via della lentissima connessione. 4 chat con 4 operatori nel vuoto. A noi non ci rivedranno mai più!

Nous avons changé d’endroit car pas de wifi. La responsable de l’hôtel (Frederica) nous a trouvé un autre hébergement plus grand sans avoir chargé la différence. Je recommande grandement de louer avec le groupe de Regina palace a Maiori. Notre séjour a été plus que parfait. Merci à Frederica

Dalla prenotazione effettuata non si capiva che il tutto sarebbe avvenuto tramite un agenzia di viaggi e già questa è stata la prima sorpresa. Poi appena arrivati in struttura abbiamo appurato che il servizio di parcheggio prevedeva il ritiro e la consegna dell' auto e non era assolutamente vicino all'alloggio;considerando che avevamo due bimbi piccoli e che spesso la consegna dell' auto è avvenuta in ritardo o addirittura ci hanno prelevato e portato al parcheggio con la navetta, perdendo moltissimo tempo (che in vacanza è ancora più prezioso), sono molto delusa. Inoltre, la situazione è peggiorata ancora di più perché nell' appartamento c'è stata un invasione di formiche e i proprietari se ne sono lavati le mani, mentre le ragazze delle pulizie sono state gentilisse, disponibili e cordiali ed è solo grazie al loro servizio se sono rimasta in quella struttura ed è stato risolto il problema delle formiche. Frigo non funzionante e ascensore assente.

Viihtyisät, valoisat tilat, hienot näkymät, ranta lähellä, remontoitu, kiva huoneisto (kaksio terassilla) vaikkakin pieniä vikoja (sulake paloi jos tietyn lieden laittoi päälle, lavuaarien tulpat jäivät kiinni, kaapeissa outo haju, kostea asunto jos ilmastointi ei päällä), ei omaa pysäköintiä, pitää aina soittaa erikseen jos tarvitsee autoa, joskin edullinen palvelu, paljon portaita. Suositus hyvän fyysisen kunnon omaaville ja rauhallisuutta arvostaville. Taskulamppu mukaan, sijaitsee pienen kävelymatkan (10 min) päässä Maiorin keskustasta, osittain pimeää tietä.

La struttura non è provvista di parcheggio, a differenza di quello che il sito fa intendere. La posizione non è comoda, c'è da fare un po' di strada per arrivare al centro del paese, ed un pezzo non è neanche illuminato nonostante sia una strada trafficata. La camera è piena di formiche, abbiamo dovuto buttare quello che avevamo comprato per la colazione perché siamo stati letteralmente invasi e ciò che non era ben sigillato è stato preso d'assalto.
In più il condizionatore ha cominciato a perdere acqua e la mattina della partenza non funzionava bene neanche lo scarico.
Per carità, tutti disponibili alla risoluzione dei problemi, ma sinceramente ci siamo trovati parecchio in difficoltà.

Posizione comoda per muoversi in costiera , terrazza con piscina favolosa. Ci siamo mossi con lo scooter e abbiamo trovato sempre il parcheggio.
la camera molto bella e comoda unica nota dolente la doccia che non aveva una tenda avanti . Posto molto tranquillo e riservato. Se si scendono le scale si arriva a una spiaggia bellissima ma per trovare posto sulla spiaggia libera che è molto piccola bisogna scendere presto (08.00) , altrimenti sono disponibili ombrelloni al prezzo di 45 euro . Le signore delle pulizie molto cordiali. Altra nota le formiche .. ma in posto completamente immerso nella natura e normale .. abbiamo chiesto lo spray alle signore delle pulizie e abbiamo risolto immediatamente.Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti soprattutto per la libertà e la riservatezza che ci ha dato questo posto :)

Residence in ottima posizione con discesa diretta a mare in piccola spiaggetta/caletta in parte gestita con lido, dotazioni del mini appartamento abbastanza complete, pulizia assicurata e costante, personale della gestione residence: cortese, premuroso e attento alle richieste.
Unico neo parcheggio auto disponibile solo a pagamento in strutture esterne ma è così in quasi tutta la costiera Amalfitana...
Mare bello ma alcune volte sporcato dagli scarichi delle imbarcazioni o alberghi limitrofi, non sempre l'acqua è limpida.

Beliggenhed for så vidst god, en lille kilometer fra centrum.
WiFi var ekstrem dårligt, telefonen havde svært ved at finde net i området, dårlig signal på tv og personale ved området kan ikke engelsk. Strand er udmærket. Man skal kunne klare trapper for at bo der.

Bello il residence e bella la posizione ma:

- parcheggio impossibile
- l’hotel da il numero di un parcheggiatore che viene a prendere la macchina, scortese caro e mai puntuale/presente
- è immerso nel verde, il che sarebbe pure bello, se non che si viene svegliati continuamente dai rumori della strada e da un GALLO che si trova nelle vicinanze

Non lo consiglierei se non come ultima opzione, non vale i soldi spesi
