Love, love, loved this hotel. Perfect location, superb breakfast, absolutely wonderful family run hotel! I highly recommend staying at this hotel and visiting the area. The room is small but clean. There are very few amenities, no hot pot for tea or coffee, and very few plugs that work with adapters for American travelers. The owners are lovely and lent us a hot pot when we asked. The breakfast is the same every day. If boiled eggs, slices of cheese, whole oranges or apples, or sweet breads/cake are your thing, you’re in luck. If you don’t eat bread and want protein, boiled eggs get old.

A family-run small inn with multiple generations providing a true Italian country side experience. It is a lovely place with typical Italian breakfast. They served freshly baked sweet cakes, pastry, bread, some prosciutto and other cold -cuts. Our room was smallish, but had great views off the balcony, on the quieter side of the building, although there isn't much traffic on this side-street. There's free parking and also a lift making it accessible. It's very budget friendly, and a great location to explore the lower half of Tuscany from. Highly recommended.

We didn’t have a car and were told very honestly that Montepulciano was nearly impossible to navigate w/o one, which we appreciated. The local restaurants were incredible and this spot was perfect for our short stay traveling through Italy.

It’s located in a very small town with limited restaurants/shops nearby, but there are a couple of restaurants walking distance and Montepulciano is only a short drive. Swimming pool is great, but about a 5 minute drive away.

What an incredible gem this place is. Easy parking, above & beyond family run Excellent service. Incredibly clean, spacious rooms. Just an hour or so & less from other great areas to visit which the hotel will help you with. Great breakfast too!

Our second stay in two weeks returning due to the brilliant staff and service as well as this being a lovely small hotel. Not luxury, but clean, comfortable and everything you need for a short stay. Great location for visiting Montepulciano (10 mins drive) and Tuscany generally - and at a fraction of the price of other hotels. Staff are unbelievably helpful with local info and both dinner (reasonably priced) and breakfast (included) were great. Other good dining options within 5 mins walk. Will definitely return!

I stayed at this wonderful family run hotel with my Mother and husband (all 3 of us loved this place). The room was very clean and spacious. Top notch service and hospitality. Breakfast was included and very, very, good (including the cappuccino, coffee and hot chocolate)! The location was a great jump off point for other towns in the area. Also, there are restaurants near by that were great as well for a reasonable price. I've stayed at 10 hotels during this European vacation and this place is by far the best - price, qualify and service. Niccolo was hilarious (you'll know what I mean when you stay there). I usually do not write reviews, but this place warranted it. Loved Tuscany and Hotel I Due Cigni!

Lovely family owns and operates this hotel. They care and the service was excellent. It was one of the hottest days, but AC worked perfectly well. You have to drive to Montepulciano, but it is clean and cheaper.

Du Cigni is the best.
This is a family owned and operated hotel. They went out of there way to come and get us when we got lost. Driving at night with no GPS. We called them and they came to get us and led us to their hotel. Hotel was extremely clean, the staff was helpful.

Just wanted to thank all the people working at the reception for being so nice, welcoming and funny! The room was a little smaller to our liking but very clean. The bathroom had a nice water pressure and views from the window were gorgeous.

Great experience. The Cigni brothers, Matteo and Nicola along with their mother, go out of their way to make the stay memorable. Nicola is very, very ebullient while Matteo is more focused. Once you meet Nicola you won't forget him; and everyone should meet a Nicola during their lifetime.
The \"hotel\" itself is clean and modern. Breakfast was decent. Free parking is plentiful. Somewhat removed from Montepulciano, but not to worry, Nicola will tell where you can park for free at the city's edge.

This was a very pleasant surprise stay. We booked late as we had an extra night in Tuscany and this place exceeded our expectations by a bunch. Nicolai, the desk man, bell hop, tour guide, host, and stand up comedian is the best Service person we have ever encountered, his personality is worth the stay. An engaging stay near Montepulciano
The welcoming staff and the quality of their breakfast food and service made our stay at I Due Chigni enjoyable and memorable. San Albino is fairly quiet, but Montepulciano is very accessible from the hotel's location. We realized we missed a treat when we ate elsewhere for dinner. We enthusiastically recommend this hotel.

It's been a while since we've stayed ata hotel where we had such a fantastic experience as at this one, all around. The location of the hotel is excellent, on the road just 7-8 min from Montepulciano. The rooms are so new and are in top notch condition - air conditioning worked great, we always had hot water, night or day, and room was always clean. Breakfast was truly excellent, with great pecorino cheese and eggs and other goodies, and the best coffee. But the most important benefit was the service. The hotel is run by a family, and led by Nicola,who was the friendliest and smiliest person you've ever met. He helped out with everything, was always so welcoming and always going the extra mile to make our stay more pleasant, with recommendations for sight-seeing, restaurants, and where to find 'freebies', or the most convenient parking spots. Our stay would not have been the same without Nicola, and we will surely recommend the hotel to all our friends. If you plan on visiting the southern Tuscany area, do not hesitate and book at Hotel I Due Cigni.

An inexpensive hotel near Montepulciano.
We were welcomed by a very friendly and cheerful woman. Most of our rooms had wonderful views over the countryside as far as Lake Trasimene. Parking in the street was available. Breakfast was excellent with a bowl of fresh fruit placed on each table.

A lovely place in Sant'Albino to stay and explore Montepulciano and Montalcino from. Only a few minutes' drive, it offers very good accommodation for a good price.

Friendly and clean Hotel close to Montepulciano
Clean, modern rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff make this well-run Hotel a strong candidate for any visit to this area of Tuscany. The breakfast is generous (another cappuccino? - no problem!). Montepulciano is a short drive away - it's not really walkable, and many other Tuscan hill-towns are easily reachable by car.

This hotel would be good if you don't care to be right in the town you are visiting and you have to have a car. Mathue and his mom run this nice clean hotel and are extremely friendly and happy to help you with anything you need.great breakfast with home made cakes that Mathue bakes them I highly recommend this place it's about 7 min from the city of Montepuchiano so not too far.

Gem in the Tuscan countryside
We stayed here for three nights, using it as a base to explore the tuscan countryside. The hotel had everything we needed- very helpful staff (charming mother and son team); continental breakfast buffet; ample free parking which can be rare in smaller towns in Tuscany; and was only a five minute drive to Montepulciano, and numerous wineries in the region. The rooms were very clean, and ours had a small balcony, which was nice. We didn't take up the offer, but when staying at the hotel you have access to the local swimming pool for no charge. Would also recommend the restaurant around the corner for dinner- Tre Stelle.

We rented to rooms for the night, one for my wife and I and 1 for my elderly mother-in-law. The hotel was very clean and in a very quit picturesque location. Wonderful hotel in the middle of Tuscany
This is a lovely, family-run hotel with very clean, modern rooms and very nice bathrooms. They offer a great-tasting dinner (two courses plus salad and dessert) every evening and it tastes very good. Everyone is very friendly and as helpful as can be. They make their own wine too, which is excellent. I can only highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Their prices are also very reasonable. I would definitely go there again!

Not actually in Montepulciano, it is Sant Albino, about 5km away, midway between Montepulciano and Chianciano Terme. Easy to find in a side street off the main road through the village. The village itself is an uninspiring suburb type place but is centrally located for a number of excellent Italian towns nearby. A modern style hotel, rooms with small balconies, the views aren’t impressive but it is somewhere to sit in the open air if you wish. Rooms are spotlessly clean with usual amenities of wifi, tv with one or two English channels, bathroom toiletries etc. Breakfast was normal hotel buffet choice of cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fruits, a range of breads and cakes and tea and coffee. Evening meal choices are the hotel or a neighbouring hotel 100 metres away if you don’t have a car, otherwise several restaurants a couple of km on the roads in either direction to Montepulciano and Chianciano Terme. A cost effective choice in a pleasant modern family hotel.

This is a lovely albergo, which serves lunch and dinner as part of its pension. We had an excellent four-course dinner for 18 euros with a bottle of house red wine, which was inexpensive and quite good. We were there only one night but could see staying for several days while traveling in the area.

We were delighted with this hotel. It is a brand new facility situated right on Hwy 146 about 20 minutes straight south of Montepulciano and was easy to find. It had an elevator which is not particularly common in budget hotels.
Our room was small, but very well-appointed, and included a small balcony with 2 chairs. There was a small fridge. The queen bed was firm and comfortable. The staff were all helpful and motivated to make our stay a pleasant experience. There is a full bar service, including coffee or tea available any time of day on request from the bar. Breakfast was plentiful, with cereals, yogurt, pastries, fruit, and plenty of coffee. They also serve dinner if you book ahead.
The hotel is right on Hwy 146, so there is some traffic noise, particularly morning and evening commuters. It is in a small commercial centre (St. Albino) if you want to pick up some refreshments or snacks.
