This was a gem of a Hotel in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Great base to be able to explore the area. Will several fabulous restaurants, wineries, olive mills and medieval towns and church’s to explore.
Service was great staff was super friendly and accommodating. On site restaurant had a wonderful breakfast each morning with a great variety of food.
And of course the wine was pretty good as well.
Would highly recommend this Hotel!!

A lovely hotel next to their own vineyard and a 20/25 min straightforward walk into beautiful San Gimignano with the most stunning views on the way. Rooms spacious and cleaned every day, lovely breakfast buffet and friendly and helpful staff. The pools were wonderful and quiet and the food and wine in the restaurant was delicious. We also did the wine tour and tasting which was interesting and used the gym which was nice to have. Easy parking and perfect position to explore Tuscany. We will definately be back the next chance we get!

Hotel sovestro was a relaxing place to stay. The staff was always busy keeping it clean. The pool was very nice and even had pool side service for coffee or beverages. The restaurant has a flavorful and well priced menu. The morning breakfast was something to look forward to each day. They even had a fresh squeezed orange juice machine.

The Sovestro was great. The place was ultra clean and the location as an outlet for Tuscany was perfect. We stayed seven nights and walked up to San Gimignano on a dirt side road and drove over 1000Kms in the area from the north to Pisa and south Val D’orcia. Thanks for the staff for being so nice and really looking after us.

First of all, the staff was always willing to help and acomodate any request. The housekeeping staff was excellent. They were very thorough.
Food in the adjacent restaurant was excellent. We ate there every day. The servers were pleasant, but untrained at checking on our table and being very helpful. We would still rate the restaurant a 4.5/10 based on the food quality and the AMAZING breakfast. You need to experience this!!

We had a private patio with a beautiful view of the Tuscan hillside. Our bed was very comfortable. The shower had instant heat and the shower stream luxurious. The breakfast buffet was amazing! There was a shuttle to San Gimignano four times daily but also a walking path away from the main road with a beautiful view (25 minute walk uphill easy back to the hotel). It was a bit cool to use the pool. All the staff were very friendly and we felt welcome. We would come back again! This was a great place to find local cooking class, horseback riding and local wine/olive oil tasting. They have a Michelin restaurant in house and our meal there was fantastic!

Great experience- hotel and restaurant

We had a great experience. We went end of March, and this looks like a summer hotel, but the rooms and everywhere we went was perfectly maintained. Clean and comfortable. The restaurant was really good, even the local wine and the olive oil we brought home. It’s a family business and they are present from the beginning till the restaurant service.

The hotel is obviously not sold out and yet the staff claim it was sold out and that late checkout would not be possible. Why end the client stay this way? Leave a bad taste in the mouth when it would be so easily to accommodate the customer. There are so many unused rooms in this large complex. Pity.

This is a really nice hotel, with a beautiful pool, comfortable, clean and big rooms, fantastic breakfast, and a quiet location in the countryside, yet ~20 min walk to the center of San Gimignano, which is in my opinion much better than staying with all the crowds in the city center. All in all, fantastic!

Perfect location, close to San Gimignano (but not really \"walking distance\" due to busy road), it has an excellent on-site restaurant, too. Nice property, clean, rooms not too small. Due to lack of time (six night stay) I did not use pool, gym, etc... Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Very nice and friendly staff.
I would most definitely stay at Sovestro again.

The lady at the front desk was so helpful when our train caused many delays and made for a late night. She made sure we were able to get to the hotel and then that we could get into the full restaurant so that we could eat. The day day arranged a driver for us as we didn’t realize there were not taxis.

The property has been renovated recently, with modern fixtures and the shower is powerful, which I really appreciate. Our triple room is spacious and has a patio which is nice. I also appreciate that bedroom slippers were provided. So rare for a countryside hotel. This is a gem.
Breakfast was very good, with pies and tarts homemade by the owners. There is a lovely spacious terrace to enjoy the views and fresh air with a view of Italian cypress trees.
There is a path at the back of the property which one can track up to the town of San Gimignano. An easy track of about 30 min to the town.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would return again.

The Sovestro hotel is some 1,5 Km from San Gimignano city center that can be reached by car in just a couple of minutes by. The room was large, clean, and quiet. It had air conditioning, flat screen TV, fridge and bathroom with shower. There is an outdoor pool, a gym and a restaurant. The parking is within the property. The surroundings are very beautiful typical Tuscan countryside.

Beautiful Hotel at the bottom of San Gimignano

It’s a beautiful nice family run hotel with great service.
Went with family and everyone enjoyed the stay.
It’s also walking distance to San Gimignano and a great beautiful walk.
Entrance lined with Cedar trees is just beautiful.
Restaurant is Michelin’s recommendations but my expectation was much higher.
Overall a great experience at the hotel.

We loved this hotel, especially the friendly and helpful staff. Laura and the young server in the dining room and restaurant were most attentive. The breakfasts were substantial and well laid out with excellent variety, including fresh eggs, made to order. My only wish would have been for a room that didn’t face the road, as the scenery would have been lovely to enjoy withou the sound of traffic. However, the room was quiet with the doors closed. The shuttle to town was great, and the walk back on a dirt road was quite pretty.

The hotel was clean but felt a little resort like. Found it a little odd that the air conditioning was switched off between 8am and 2pm and that if you wanted it on it was charged per hour.

Breakfast was OK however for the price of the hotel i would have expected better. The hotel has a minibus that can take you to the San Gimignano but in all honestly i'm not sure i would stay here again. Staff were lovely and friendly and its great for families who want to get away but not quite appropriate for us.

This is a good hotel which ticks the boxes for a quiet holiday relaxing in Italy. 20 minutes uphill hike to the town sets up a nice thirst for the excellent wine on offer. Short drive for wineries and not too far to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Chianti and Florence. Hotel rooms good, breakfast fine and plenty equipment in the gym.

Absolutely loved this property. The rooms were extremely clean and the surrounding area and pleasant walk into the town were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful when I had an issue with my rental vehicle and had some problems translating. The restaurant on site is very good with authentic Italian food. If I am ever back I will not hesitate to stay here again.

The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The cleaning staff were excellent and each day our room was spotlessly thoroughly cleaned.
Overall we were delighted with our choice of hotel. The position was great. Beautiful views and a most delightful walk into the old town of San Gimignano.
We are very happy to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay just outside San Gimignano.

Lovely Quiet Hotel Close to San Gimignano

This is a lovely hotel approximately five minutes drive from San Gimignano. It was easy to find by car and has plenty of free parking. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to and from town four times a day. We found it better to take the shuttle into town and then take a twenty minute walk back which is on a beautiful back road and is downhill all the way! It is worth taking a torch if walking this route at night. All of the staff are welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It also had a lovely patio overlooking the hillside. The bathroom was modern, well appointed and, again, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was typical Italian fare and very good quality and could be taken inside or outside on their terrace. The hotel has a restaurant serving good quality Tuscan food and appeared very popular with non-residents. There is a lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds and the very good wifi works well poolside also. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week. Weather very good. Could find nothing to fault! Scenery was beautiful. There are many places close by to visit. We had been to this region about 10 years ago so it was a joy to go back.

Location of this hotel along with its swimming pools make it a fabulous choice. The restaurant offers Tuscan favourites and all the staff are excellent in the hotel, poolside and the restaurant. The only aspect they could improve is the breakfast drinks by removing the machines and providing real juice and coffee.

Family get together for wedding

Beautiful location and a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the town of San Gimignano four times a day. Which was a bonus because taxi's are expensive there. Breakfast choice was good and although the breakfast did not open till 7.30 we were always welcomed at 7am to start, due to having small early riser child in our party.
Outside there are two pools with plenty of places to lounge either in the sun or in the shade. Best of all were the owners and staff who were friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Great Tuscan location

We loved our stay here. We drove in and there was plenty of space to self park. We were treated by the very friendly front desk staff and everything was sorted out quickly and efficiently.
The pool was lovely. And the view around the hotel and from the rooms is lovely
We really enjoyed the dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was also nice.

On a rolling hill in Tuscany

The setting is really nice, nice hotel that has a good restaurant that people from town often visit during the night's so in a rainy day you wouldn't need to travel to town. The only problem is that if you don't have a car the town is uphill maybe a 20 minute walk, and some partsyou have to walk in the road since there are not sidewallks.

Superb country hotel/restaurant

Stayed one night in January, so no use of pool or time outdoors. Quiet country hotel/restaurant on hillside just outside San Gimignano. Nicely furnished and maintained. Staff helpful. Room comfortable, nice bathroom. Excellent restaurant. Good breakfast. Would stay again, especially in warmer weather.

Very nice find

This was a spontaneous overnight stop that was booked on the internet. Very nice property with pleasant, helpful staff and a spectacular breakfast offering. The only disappointment was that it was not really within walking distance to SG center so we had to drive and search for parking.

Excellent location in San Gimignano

Close to town, also centrally located to Volterra, Siena, Florence, Montrigginori, the bus station and many small wineries plus fairly close to Radda in Chianti. Also had a fabulous breakfast.
And one of the best restaurants for dinner in the area! Beautiful pools plus a lunch service. Owner and staff were terrific and provided whatever we asked. A Gem of a hotel!
