Everything about our stay was perfect. The breakfast, location- view from our room we couldn’t ask for more. The staff were awesome they did everything I even questioned if they ever went home - they work very hard and do many different duties. I would stay here again in a minute.

The views from the property were beautiful. There is a restaurant on site but we only had breakfast there and ate out the other evenings. We were there for 3 nights. It is about a 8 minute walk to the town center. The wifi was steong.

The room for two people is very small and you need to be strategic on how to walk around the room while also accessing two middle size pieces of luggage because there is not room to keep the luggage on the floor without tripping. The shower is very small too especially for large people.

The bed is comfortable, the breakfast is good, the convenience of being located within a short walking distance of the restaurants and shops is a positive, plus they have parking which we appreciated.

Very nearby town centre but very shabby hotel and the rooms are sparse. Parking is offsite and the elevator was mostly broken. Wouldn’t stay here again. But the staff were very nice.

We loved our stay. The hotel had really nice breakfasts included and the pool was fantastic after a hot day walking around the old city. We had a standard room and we were expecting it to be small. It was very small - it was difficult to find space for our cases and the shower was so small that it was hard to use it without banging your elbows. The room did include a nice outdoor balcony which made up for the super small room. The hotel was an easy walk into the old city.

VERY nice and helpful staff! They consistently went out of their way to be helpful. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well, and they let us check in early so she could lay down....the room service lady who brought her some food went out of her way to be sympathetic and kind... The people who work there are top notch! The room and the facility are very nice and clean as well. The only reason I withheld that 5th star is that the hotel isn't inside the old castle walls of San Gimignano. It's down the hill a bit. The walk up the hill isn't bad at all, but there is that walk up the hill (which isn't clear in the listing). But that's a small ding for an otherwise wonderful hotel!

Just a one night couple stay on a road trip round Italy.
Firstly what a view from the balcony!
Room and bathroom small but adequate as I was expecting. But the balcony made the room twice as big, if only the weather was better.
Breakfast was very good lots of variety on the day there.
One slight negative, we were happy to pay the parking to have the car close by but I don’t think having paid however much for a room the parking should be 15 euro but like I said we were happy to pay just to have the car closeby.

Like all of the reviews available this property overall was great. The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side and could do with a paint: however the rooms are still comfortable.
I had a room with a balcony and it was amazing to watch the sunrise and sunset from there.

The staff were all kind and helpful and the communal areas and breakfast area were great. Plenty of breakfast options to choose from.

My recommendation is to have a car (where possible) as taxi from Poggibonsi train station was $60 euros and when it came to leaving: the local bus simply never arrived 😳😩😡.

2 others and I were lucky enough to hail a local man who drove us to the station in time to meet the train. Grazie 😘

Overall, the property was nice but the reason I give it three stars is because I booked a room with a hill view and they gave me a completely different room with a view of the parking area and a house. They claim they overbooked the rooms but upgraded us to a “Suite”. They didn’t inform us of this until I complained about it and acted as if there was no problem at all. Had I known this I would have booked another property because let’s be honest, the view is everything in Tuscany. Not an awful experience but I would probably recommend booking another property if a balcony view is a priority for you.

Good hotel with excellent staff on hand to make your stay a pleasant one. Plenty of loungers in the gardens by the pool also, if you want to take time out. Rooms are very comfortable and offer excellent views should you wish to upgrade. Only a short walk in to town also. Definitely recommend.

We had a car to park instead of offering to us to park and pay
They send us out of the property to park , when we realized that the signs at the parking spots said for guess only we wonder what do they call us , so I ask and she said our car was too big and it will take 2 spaces so we said ok we will like to park and pay for parking so she told us that she had to make a call to see if she could do it and she could tell is in 5 minutes,
Then when we came back another person was there we asked again this time she said yes for 13e we can park and of course we said yes we had 3 rooms in that hotel

From the minute we arrived, we were treated like royalty. Monica at the front desk is worth her weight in gold. We witnessed her go above and beyond for another family before she extended the same courtesy to ours.
The hotel is in a storybook setting overlooking breathtaking vistas in every direction. The breakfast was good, they serve carafes of “Cafe Americano” to you at the table and the rest of the meal is buffet.
Several wineries are walkable down the hill from the hotel, and the old town is walkable up the hill.
Be aware that there is no restaurant on site, and the closest one is about a block away. Dinner in Italy starts around 630-7pm, and most restaurants are not available until those hours. I continue to mention this in my reviews because breakfast is over at 1030am and your next meal isn’t available nearby until 630pm. It was pouring rain one of our days but we were hungry so we walked in the rain to the old town for pizza in the afternoon. This was the case in all 4 towns we visited this trip, but I wasn’t aware of it before I booked the hotels.

Absolutely perfect - location, staff, and grounds! Short 10 minute walk to the gate of San Gimignano. The entire staff were super friendly and very helpful at booking several wine tours. We were able to visit both the Chianti and Montalcino wine regions from here. Oh, and the breakfast every morning was excellent!

Beautiful location and a very easy 10 minute walk into San Gimignano town, hotel staff were wonderful, very helpful and attentive. Hotel is quite dated in some areas, and a little worn/run down in rooms mainly. The lobby and breakfast areas are very Tuscan and beautiful. It will definitely need a refurbishment of rooms in the new couple of years I feel. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again!

Overall this is a good hotel with a great location. Check in was easy, but the desk staff was just ok. The afternoon guy at the desk was much better and very helpful. Breakfast was good and the food quality was was above average. The view was outstanding and within walking distance to Town, which was our favorite place that we visited, so it made the hotel higher on the scale. Parking was limited but very safe. The A/C didn’t really work well but the night temps was high 60’s so it wasn’t really an issue.
4 stars... clean, beautiful view, great location. Worth the money. .... we will be back.

Let me get the positives out of the way: the staff are incredibly professional and friendly, cant do enough for you. The breakfast is good and its only a 5 minute walk into town.
Negatives: for a 4 star hotel it is just really old fashioned and dated. It really needs to be modernised. The furniture in the bedrooms is something out of the 80s with a small tv and poor toiletries. We paid extra for a double superior room which yes did have some extra space but then had zero view...unless you think the building next door was a view. This meant there was hardly any light in the room. I'd have preferred a smaller room with a view and daylight! Not sure they mop the floor as my feet were dirty walking around barefoot.
Also in our bathroom there was a towel rail right next to the toilet which meant they were practically touching. I had to keep moving the towels as it was just weird. Dont place hand towels near where you are going to flush! There is a small pool and terrace but note that the pictures make it look as though everything is quite nicely spaced...when in reality you are just off of the car park.

Beautiful grounds and amazing views of Tuscany. It's a ten minute walk to lovely San Gimignano.
A nice breakfast is included with a good selection of foods and great service. .Our standard room was bright and clean but very tiny - as was the bathroom (think closet size). The shower is a little over 2 ft X 2 ft.

Charming hotel within a 8/10 minute walk to the beautiful San Gimignano.
The hotel is very quiet, maybe a little before the main season starts but not very many people around,
The room we had was very small, and bathroom likewise. The shower was very narrow with only a pull curtain, a little dated. BUT the view from the very large balcony is wonderful..well worth it.
Breakfast is ok, enough to start the day.
Evenings there seemed to be no-one about,came back to have a drink at the bar and sit in the lounge but each night it was only my husband and I..No staff at the bar, reception had to go and get us our drink.
Parking is expensive in the gates of hotel 13 euros a day, there are a few places just before you turn into the hotel, have to take a chance not already taken.
Hotel has beautiful views and is so near the amazing Medieval Town.

This hotel was very nice, with great service and outstanding breakfast. The room was very small and so was the bathroom, but since we spent most of our time touring the city anyway, this was not a major inconvenience. In addition, the room had a large balcony that added extra livable space when the weather allowed. The hotel is just outside the historical center, in a convenient and quiet area. The 5 min walk was very pleasant and safe, so we did not mind being outside the city center, since the gorgeous views form the hotel and quality of the service more than made up for this.

Booked the hotel well in advance and by the time we arrived the price had dropped significantly, while I didn’t necessarily expect they would offer the lower rate, I thought perhaps they would have upgraded our room, but they did not . We booked the pay at hotel rate with Expedia, however our credit card was charged for the full amount 2 weeks prior to our arrival, which was a surprise. Also room insulation is minimal we could hear conversations from the people staying in th room beside us,, another nugget, we couldn’t get an early morning coffee without an additional charge even though breakfast was included in the room rate. On the plus side, very comfortable bed and pillows, incredible location just a 5 minute walk to the historic centre of town, lovely pool and views to countryside..Good breakfast

A little piece of heaven

We had an excellent stay with all of the relaxation we were looking for. As we had our 11 month old with us we were allocated a larger room to accommodate the crib. Beware if booking via Expedia, their website indicates that you can add a baby crib, but the hotel contacted us ahead of time to advise that in the small double it is not possible ( so the room must be very small). In the end it t was resolved by the hotel due to the misundstanding without additional cost to us.
There is a great selection for breakfast. Lunch was also very pleasant, but there are many restaurants close by if you want to venture out too. I'm sure there were people staying who never left the hotel, and I can understand why, it's serene.

Perfect place to visit San Gimignano and surrounding area. 5 minute pleasant walk into the town, friendly helpful staff, nice small, quiet hotel with a good breakfast.
Our room was small, but a wonderful big balcony with spectacular views across the countryside, which we had requested.
Only one small criticism, which was the towels provided for poolside (5 euros refundable) were threadbare and had holes! You need to replace those people!!

Although located walking distance from city center San Gimignano, the room and bed size made our stay very poor. Standard room has a very small bed where my wife and I kept bumping to each other, and the only place we could put our luggage was blocking access to the bed. The room was tiny! On the other hand there was a rather large balcony. Toilet/shower was also tiny and seemed to be inside a closet (there was no closet btw).

Parking may be an issue, very crowded and the free parking around the hotel fills up rather quickly. Breakfast was pretty good and service was alright.

Unfortunately the size of the room and bed really hurt our sleep comfort (I kept waking up whenever my wife turned because bed was so small).

the hotel was well appointed, very clean and with a lovely pool. The staff were friendly and helpful.

the rooms were clean and well appointed, only comment was that the rooms and pool are a little small. however, for a short break it was fantastic and the views are incredible.

The hotel is just outside the walls of San Gimignano. It takes under 10 minutes to walk to restaurants and explore the beautiful town. The pool is perfect and the views from the terrace and rooms with balconies facing onto the pool are fantastic.
The staff could not be more helpful and we would not hesitate to stay again.

The hotel offers light lunches and snacks but no evening meal. This is not an issue as you have so many options within very close proximity. Fabulous stay!

My wife Mae and I stayed here last October 8 and 9 but it was a short overnight stay in this small town of San Gimignano and I found the hotel very refreshing. The time we arrived there at 3PM we knew we're in for a wonderful stay. Though most of time, we were out doing our sight-seeing and shopping, the room gave us a comfortable rest throughout the night. The receptionist in-charge the following day gave us a very warm service in preparing a very early breakfast because we were supposed to leave at 7 the ff. morning back to Rome. He really took time to offer us coffee, croissant with butter and some available cookies and yogurt. We would love to go back to this hotel in the near future but this time a bit longer to fully enjoy the hotel stay. By the way San Gimignano is a sight to behold, old town neighbouring stores and shops are good for hard to find souvenirs.

We picked the hotel for its location, just a 5 minute walk outside the walls of San Gimignano, and to allow us to visit the surrounding area, including Volterra, Siena, and the Tuscan wine villages like Greve, Radda and Montalcino, all of which are delightful. We would have liked to go slightly further afield, but most of the roads, whilst often providing beautiful views, are not much more than country lanes, and speed limits are low.
We picked the hotel for its location, just a 5 minute walk outside the walls of San Gimignano, and to allow us to visit the surrounding area, including Volterra, Siena, and the Tuscan wine villages like Greve, Radda and Montalcino, all of which are delightful. We would have liked to go slightly further afield, but most of the roads, whilst often providing beautiful views, are not much more than country lanes, and speed limits are low.The hotel was very comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was very clean, linen was changed regularly through our week there. Breakfast was good although pretty restricted in that the only hot food was (very good) scrambled egg with occasional small amounts of sausage or bacon. the cold spread was excellent though, and drinks from the bar very fairly priced, whether pots of tea and coffee or beer, wine and cocktails.

Great location, fabulous staff.

The staff are welcoming and helpful and the location is perfect - a short walk into town. We had a lovely stay and will go back. The only negative is the size of the room - one of the smallest doubles I've ever stayed in. Will make sure we have a larger room next time

View is amazing, room is very small

We paid the extra 30 euros for a country view and it was amazing. The room is the smallest we have ever seen, smaller than the cruise ship room we had. It's just enough to fit the bed and for you to walk around it, plus a small desk and cupboard. The washroom is just a sliding door away. The balcony is a good size though and you'll love the view. I don't know if it's worth that amount of money. We really enjoyed our stay as San Gimignano, Tuscany and the view were wonderful. A glass of wine on the balcony is what you'll love.

This was our first trip to Tuscany and we absolutely loved it. The hotel was serene with beautiful views of the countryside and just a short stroll into the city of San Gimignano. The pool is a huge plus - beautiful and great drink service! Breakfast on the terrace every morning was lovely.

Would stay again because of the view and the pool.

I don't have another hotel in San Gimignano to compare, so this is what I can say compared to other hotels: View was incredible. Breakfast bar was great, room towels were great, beds small but comfy, high thread count, soft sheets, staff very nice. Rooms very small and shower is super small. A/C was not very good so we actually slept with the patio doors open. Granted it was July, but it was by far hotter in that hotel than any others we stayed in. Pool was immaculate, pool towels were circa 1990's (hunter green and worn). You can only get food at certain times. I could not get a sandwich at 3:15, so eat lunch early!

Best way to stay (and relax) in San Gimignano.

Cannot imagine a more ideal stay in San Gimignano. The hotel was in great condition; great staff; and excellent pool with ample chairs and towels provided. My wife and I loved that it was outside the city walls. It was close to several reasonably-priced (and lower-priced compared to places within the walls) restaurants. Then, the COOP grocery store is less a 5-7 minute walk for lunch, wine, and supplies.

Ideal location in San Gimignano

Hotel is close to San Gimignano, in a small street, hard to find but lovely once you get there. Nice pool and surrounds! Walls are very thin, can hear lots of noises from other rooms. Staff on arrival were very friendly.

'Small room with view' too small

Staff were very friendly and the breakfast choice was very good including breads, croissant, fruit, yoghurts, scrambled eggs, hams etc.. The downside was definitely our room which was 'small room with view'. When I say the room was small I mean you literally could not swing a cat around. The bathroom was behind an unlockable sliding glass door and there was no room to store 2 mid sized suitcases apart from on top of the area where the fridge was. The air conditioning was very poor and overnight the room became very hot. The wardrobe was very small for 2 people in fact we didn't bother unpacking most things for lack of space.
Our room did have a wonderful view over the countryside and a huge walk around balcony with 2 chairs and umbrella but if the balcony had been smaller and the room bigger that would have been better.
The hotel is in an excellent position for the town - 10 mins walk and there is free parking outside the hotel - allocated spaces, or parking in the grounds which was 13 Euros per night. The gardens are nice with a swimming pool and free loungers with free towels.
I would say that had I known how small the 'small room with view' was going to be I would have either booked another room type or chosen another hotel.

The hotel was very nicely decorated. Room was small but perfectly adequate. We were fortunate to have a balcony with a fantastic view. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were fantastic.

Close and comfortable in San Gimignano

We loved this hotel and San Gimignano in Tuscany. This is such a wonderful town and the only way to get around is to walk. The hotel wonderfully sited on a gentle hillside overlooking the Tuscan countryside and only about a 5-7 minute walk from town. We wisely upgraded for another 40 euros to a balcony room overlooking the pool and subsequently spent a fair amount of time with wineglass and book enjoying the views after walking for hours in the historic town. San Gimignano is so loaded with history, art and wonderful restaurants that it can easily consume 2-3 full days without stopping. Take a guided tour for a look at some of the amazing underground rooms and history of the area. We had a great relaxing several days in the Relaix Santa Chiara.

Perfect location for San Gimignano

Stunning views of the Toscanna landscape and yet so close to the beautiful village of San Gimignano. Spend the extra dollars and get the valley view. Spent three nights and did not want to leave.
