Such a nice breakfast out on the patio. Quiet, peaceful. Took a dip in the pool which is gorgeous.. unfortunately weather not super warm during our visit but still enjoyed a refreshing dip! Loved our hike to SanGimingnano. Be aware that this is kind of a remote property, but it is beautiful and peaceful. Its up a windy dirt road. We stayed for dinner two nights and enjoyed the property and hiking. Very nice and helpful staff.

Cannot say enough about this property, it is amazing. The grounds and surroundings are beautiful. The staff was so helpful and kind. The dinner was amazing, definitely make sure you have dinner here at least one night. The terrace is huge and the room had everything we needed. Great views of the surrounding countryside and of San Giamangiano. Do be careful on your driving directions and pay attention to the signs. Google Maps wants to take you on a route that turns into what is not an actual road, so if you follow it you will end up having to turn around and go back adding about 15 minutes to the drive.

We chose the most perfect destination - every aspect exceeded our hopes of a relaxing stay in the Tuscan countryside. The property is remote but accessible and the staff (really feel the proper word is family) who operate the resort cared for every aspect of our stay. Fresh, delectable food at each meal and the evening dinner was a five course dream! Daily hikes and a drive into San Gimignano (walled city approx 20 min drive) were wonderful aspects to the stay. The history and beauty of the property were so mesmerizing and the wine they produce is AMAZING - sent a case home to the US! I hope we can return one day and bring our children as Torraccia di Chiusi is a gift to the soul! You will thank your lucky stars (as did we) that we had the chance to stay in such a beautiful part of the world experiencing the simplicity, joy and pace of Italy that is the most beautiful way of life.

After finding this gem, you will be overwhelmed by their hospitality. You will receive a tour of the grounds, a 1200 year old house. A 2300 year old tomb converted to a wine aging room. Porcupine condos. Winery. Have dinner on the premises. The 5 course meals were incredibly good. A really great agriturissmo in the heart of Tuscany equally between Florence & Sienna. We will return

Simply the most relaxing situation one could imagine. Just a perfect blend of nature, farm edges (e.g. not a resort) but unreal food/wine. Just hanging out by the pool all day or walking vineyards or simply just \"being\" while the Tuscan sun rejuvenates your soul. It was a fantastic couple of days that was restorative and memorable.

An incredible visit

An incredible, albeit brief visit to this beautiful villa. Never met friendlier staff and been to a more beautiful location. Highly recommend getting dinner with them, one of the best meals I’ve had in all my days. Julia served us most of the time and had an awesome attitude and never made us feel out of place for asking for something.

Beautiful, peaceful and clean agriturismo with incredible views of the Tuscan countryside. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat, this is the place for you. The staff was so welcoming and went above and beyond. Dinner every night was excellent. I appreciated the location next to the Pilgrimmage Trail, which allowed me to hike to San Gimignano for a day. Ideal for a relaxing stay.

More of a retreat than a hotel. Comfortable and clean tastefuly furnished rooms. The friendliest, kindest and most helpful hosts you could wish for. Direct access to the Canterbury to Rome pilgrims' trail which provides a pleasant 90 minute walk to San Gimingano. Superb views in all directions.
Be prepared for a steep, winding unmade 3k road to the hotel on arrival. It seems never ending but well worth the effort.

A Hidden Gem

If you want a real Tuscan experience, this is the place for you. We were originally supposed to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for 4 nights because a concert we were to attend was posponed because of weather. I was a bit skepital of all the 5 star reviews I had seen for Torraccia di Chiusi before I booked, but I would have to agree. The B and B is perched on the top of a mountain with beautiful views. Maria and Bruno were great and the staff was very friendly. Stay for dinner and you will not be dissapointed, we had the best braised veal in a red wine. I look forward to staying there again in the future.

Imagine a relaxing stay in the countryside with fresh, delicious Italian food, local wine, and excellent company...and, oh yeah, a refreshing pool overlooking the hills. Then you'll be at Torraccia di Chiusi. San Gimingnano and Sienna are fantastic, but be sure to plan a day or two just hanging out here and being reintroduced to life.

Offered delicious homemade breakfasts.
Had an excellent 4 night stay just outside the touristy town of San Gimignano. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Don’t miss strolling around the lake.
Advise that you get precise directions as GPS is not always reliable.

Great place and good food in central Tuscany

Very nice accommodations in the center of Tuscany. The staff at the Torraccia were always friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent, including the nightly 5-course dinners that you can book separately and which make dinner plans for the day very easy. There are many trails around here to explore, and we wish we had booked more time to just wander around the area. Pro-tip: the also have filtered water and you can refill your bottles there for the day.

A wonderful stay near to San Gimignano

We had an excellent stay at Torraccia di Chiusi. You'll be staying in an older, refurbed building hundreds of years old, set on a farm. The breakfast was excellent and the opt-in 4 course dinner for $25 with apertivo right before was outstanding. Don't expect to know what you're getting as the team come up with it each day based on what they have to hand.

We only had two minor issues with our room which was the air con and fridge. The fridge didn't work, but I'd suggest simply getting rid of it. The air con had a slight leak and didn't work but given we were at the end of the warmer weather didn't need it anyways, and I'm sure this will be rectified before the warmer weather returns.

Run by a lovely family and team, I'd highly recommend this property.

Simply Amazing

This place is exactly what we wanted. Stunning views set in the Tuscan Hills with views of the towers of San Gimignano.
We were in the Suite which was 2 rooms with the biggest and most comfortable bed you could imagine. The bathroom was lovely with a double shower.
The pool was perfect for an afternoon swim to cool down as the weather was still hot and humid.
The restaurant for dinner is a must for all. 5 courses - yummy ! The waitress- I can’t rememfer her name was so lovely and did a great job talking to the guests and explaining the food and wine available.
Breakfast was great and a good variety.
We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary so my husband organised for a platter of cheese, bread and cold meats and red wine in a private setting in the gardens. Just amazing and special memories for us.
Maria is a lovely host and ensured we were settled and had everything we needed. She offered advice on where to go and what to see.
She told us the history of Torraccia di Chiusi and even gave us a tour of the wine cellar.
Thank you so much we loved our visit and hope to return one day.

This bed and breakfast was exceptional! I highly recommend to anyone that wants to visit Tuscany to relax, sample delicious foods and wines and enjoy incredible landscapes/views. Everyone that worked on this property was so warm and welcoming towards us. Maria (who worked in reception) was especially kind to us and I wanted to give her a special thanks for upgrading our room and giving us a discount! We absolutely loved staying here and will be back again some day! Thank you for everything!

Relax and Enjoy

Perfect location to relax. We stopped here between visited to Venice and Rome. It was the perfect balancing act for our trip. The staff are fantastic, the facilities are first rate and if there are better vista's anywhere, I would be shocked!

It is a awesome place with very nice people.

We are three, my wife and one kid. My first time in Italy and in Toscana. The hotel is special for couples but not so much for kids (11 years old). Depending on your family/personal setup, you can stay in the hotel living the life of the Toscana or you can just take you car and drive to know many places in an area of 50km.
We spend a awesome moment there.

Beautiful views very quiet and great staff

Maria the host was exceptional very helpful made you feel like family. Had a 5 course dinner prepared by chef bruno which was excellent. Also a great breakfast the next morning. Highly recommend this hotel.

Tuscan Countryside

Great getaway in the coutnryside of Tuscany. We used the hotel to be close to San Gimignano and also to attend the Andrea Boccelli concert. The servie is great, very welcoming. The place is a bit of an offroad trek to get to but well worth it. The only downside was that our room didn't have airconditioning but had an amazing view.

Wonderful hotel. Owners and all people working there are pleasant and work to make everyone's stay enjoyable. Meals are as good as any restaurant. Grounds are lovely. Gorgeous pool with views of the town. Can't wait to go back in the spring.

Incredible Agriturismo, highly recommend

We stayed at Torrachia de Chiusi in August 2012 and had an absolutely wonderful experience. You can see and feel the history in this magical, peaceful place. It seems very real and authentic and yet it has many modern amenities including WiFi and air conditioning (critical in August)! Grace is delightful and is happy to help with whatever you need. The cooking class with Bruno is a hoot. We had a great time despite the heat – picking fresh herbs from around the grounds, chopping the ingredients for dinner and even getting a sample of homemade bruschetta fresh out of the oven with a glass of vino – also made onsite of course. Stefano the owner was happy to show us his personal residence and views from the tower. We did the hike into San Gimignano, which took about 1:45 and wound through vineyards, up and down the hills of tuscanny and over a small creek – we HIGHLY recommend. The staff helped us get a taxi back to the Torrachia in the afternoon. After a long day of hiking and touring, the refreshingly cool pool was fantastic! The best views of Tuscanny and San Gimigiano right from the pool. The only slight disappointment was that the room with the terrace had an interior courtyard view – not the best view of the surrounding hills. But given the history, authenticity, and the incredibly nice staff, this was very easy to get over. Bottom line – we would absolutely highly recommend staying here.
