A wonderful location. Room was good, it was furnished quite basically and the concrete floor was cold. Bed was hard and very comfortable. The restaurant was outside/under shade sails, which was lovely (except when it rained during dinner. They do have an indoor restaurant area too). We didn't use the pool, but it was popular with others. They offer a courtesy minibus down to San Gimignano a few times a day, which was really helpful.
The two car parks were spacious. The breakfast had a nice selection of European foods. We had dinner in their restaurant, which was tasty. The chicken pate was excellent!

A HIDDEN GEM RIGHT NEX TO THE TOWN.

This a beautiful property just a short drive from SAN GIMIGNANO. The buildings, and grounds are magnificent. Very well taken care.
Rooms were big and comfortable. The included Breakfast was very good
Parking it's free and at the property.
They have a FREE shuttle service to go to SAN GIMIGNANO, and BACK to the hotel.
I ve been to San Gimignano 3 times, it's a wonderful medieval town, BUT parking outside the city walls, it's a pain. On previous trip, for 2 different days we had to wait in line for someone to leave the parking to get into the parking lot. Also it's kind of expensive parking .(more than 20 euros for the daytime)

So for us leaving our car at the hotel, and going to San Gimignano and back to the hotel, with the offered shuttle WAS GREAT option. Not to worry where to park, and not waiting in line for a parking spot.

The hotel STAFF was AMAZING. Super friendly, they had always a smile, and offer a solution for every request.

We were 5 people traveling in 2 cars, One of the people of the group got a room, in an area with an ELEVATOR. The other 4 people, got a room in an older area of the property WITHOUT ELEVATOR, but the hotel staff, HELPED US WITH OUR LUGGAGE, at check in, and at check out. (Thank you)

The hotel has an in property restaurant. Kind of expensive, the food was good, but the staff at the restaurant, did not speak much English, so communication was a problem.

We will DEFINTIVLY will stay there again, on our return to TOSCANA.

The property is set in beautiful surroundings and the staff were excellent and very helpful. However the amenities in the room were basic with no tea or coffee making facility and a totally inadequately sized key operated room safe. The provided small bottles of water in the fridge are not complimentary. The Hostaria Terre Rosse restaurant was excellent. The children's menu was only available from 7pm in the main restaurant and not earlier from the snack bar which was a shame.

All of the staff were amazing and super friendly, they helped us with our luggage and responded quickly to our questions. Property condition was on the older side, super thin walls as we could hear everything upstairs and right outside our door as well. Overall it was a good accommodation.

I don’t think I booked the right place for us. If you’re ultra conservative 50 plus you’re in the right place.
Quite disappointed that this place charged us for coffee and water when there was nothing provided in our room. All other hotels of similar calibre we have stayed at have offered this service for free including snacks and sweets.
I had hoped for a more rustic appeal. But the rooms and setting at this hotel were very basic and very modern. Really great breakfast. Pool looked nice but didn’t use it.

We loved Casolare Le Terra Rosse! We could easily explore nearby Tuscan towns in the morning/day and then come back and hang out by the pool or play soccer or ping pong on the property. The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The on site restaurant and snack bar served delicious local foods that the kids are still talking about. And the staff were amazing - so very helpful and courteous. Have already recommended the hotel to a number of people!

Highlight of Tuscany

Our stay here has been a highlight of our trip thanks to this hotel.
The property is beautiful, and a very short drive from San Gimignano for when we wanted to visit town.
The amenities were excellent, and the restaurent is a must do for anyone staying.

I was so dissapointed because they sell they have air conditioner and THEY DONT. No safety box in the room and the bed very hard.
The breakfast was amazing and a lot of variety. The staff of the bar, breakfast and dinner are very helpful and friendly.

This is my 4th time staying at Hotel Casolare and each time I come it gets better and better. I cannot say enough how friendly and helpful the staff are there. When I arrived the owner recognised me and welcomed me with a big hug and that meant so much to me.
I came last year with my sister and friends and they absolutely loved it that we had to come back and bring others which we did.
The breakfast is very generous with loads of options hot and cold of course eating breakfast with a breathtaking view of the pool and gardens are a plus.
When staying by the pool we can order drinks and lunch and the lunch they serve is so delicious especially the lasagne. Which brings me onto dinner....So good!!!!
We ate there the day we arrived and the night before we left and food as delicious as I remembered. The atmosphere eating out in the courtyard is lovely.
Also we came by car, there was a day the group separated and we used their free shuttle service to get into San Gimignano.
Also the communication between the hotel was so easy, at first it was through eamil, then it was through WhatsApp which was faster.
Seriously a memorable and beautiful trip and Hotel Casolare helped make it such a wonderful trip for all.

The staff were excellent! The two bedroom apartment we were given did not come with cleaning service! We had to ask and pay for it! The cleaning person did not even empty the trash! Bugs galore! We are still finding bugs in our luggage and clothing ! Bathroom was so small we could not turn! Kitchenette was un useful!

We had a great stay. Our family suite was spacious and comfortable with separate rooms for us and our 2 daughters , each with its own bathroom. The location and premise are very beautiful and well maintained. All the employees are very courteous and helpful. This is a great base to explore Tuscany.
You should try the hotel’s restaurant with its delicious food. An added bonus is the hotel’s cat ,which unlike most of its kind, is very friendly.

Extremely disappointed. I want my money back. 2 weeks with my family of 3 in a cramped room with tiny shower cubicle. Room 58. Keep hearing screams from my wife and daughter as each of us were repeatedly scalded by hot water in the shower. The shower water handle is in a position where you can’t help but knock it and that makes the water boiling hot or cold. In any case the shower water won’t stay constant temperature, it blows how and cold anyway. You are stood there in this tiny shower barely able to move up to your ankles in the drain water that won’t drain. I reported all this over and over. I was told my reception this these are known issues and there there is no known solution. Seriously, the hotel should refund us. What rubbish. And shame on Expedia for listing hotels like this. Why does is not say on the Expedia page that this hotel has these issues, knows about it, won’t do anything about it, at least then I know not to book this hotel. Several times the restaurant is over subscribed and then you can’t have dinner. There is a bar menu (food not good, lots of predigested food like fries), you dont to Tuscany to eat bar food and the hotel knows this form it’s only restaurant. Not OK. There is no fruit juice, only juice from concentrate. The pool is cold even through 30C air temperature. The manager won’t servee you, she only brushed me aside, she only serves new guests checinkg in. Just so poor throughout , 1/10 would be generous.

Stayed there July 28 2022 for only three days. Next time I will stay there the full week. It was so peaceful and the surrounding areas were so green. Surrounded only by nature. Everyone was so friendly. The accomodations were great. The breakfast was the best part of our day. They have so much variety and the coffee was exactly how I wanted it. The restaurant at night had great food as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very Basic - No Wifi

The property was very basic. It was clean. They claim to have wifi in the lobby and in the rooms however when the wifi didn't work in the rooms they said that was normal and that you have to come to the lobby. Their excuse was that that you are in a remote area but my cell service was great so that is no excuse. The hotel needs to add a booster if they are going to claim they have wifi. For many of us that are doing business as we travel good wifi is important. It was a very disappointing stay.

This was my third time at Hotel Casolare and it was just as good as the last two times I came. I bought my sister and 2 friends and they absolutely loved it as well. The hotel staff as so friendly and always there to help with whatever query you have. The food is absolutely delicious and the breakfast is so generous. If you do not feel like driving to town, you can take the free shuttle to and from town (times provided at reception). My friends want to make it a yearly trip and I am totally down for that. i always recommend this hotel whenever anyone asks. Thank you again

This was one of the more pleasant stays at a hotel anywhere in a long while. Excellent and helpful staff no matter what time of day. Very nice grounds and pool area. Great views and a nice room. Happy hour for nice drinks and good food at the restaurant (try the steak for two for €90, the best). We stayed from 6/1 - 6/4 in room 8.

Good things: Great location to explore San Gimignano, although still may want to drive into the city area. Free parking was very nice, the actual grounds were lovely, we loved having an outdoor sitting area for the evening, service and staff was great, bar area was great for a snack and a drink.

Not great things: There did not appear to be a way to moderate the room temperature, even though there was a thermostat, we tried to change it numerous times but it would not adjust. The room was warm and set to 24 degrees Celsius which is about 75.2 Fahrenheit which was way too warm to sleep in for us. We wanted to keep the veranda doors open but the amount of cat fights we heard outside plus the number of lizards and other critters we saw throughout the day made us too nervous to do so given there were no screens. Bed was rock hard, pillows were also rock hard. The room was functional, but the actual space was so loud you could hear every other guest walking through the halls since they were tile. We heard every time some new guest walked into the corridor and especially the people above us. So if quiet is important, this is not the greatest place for you.

Great area, good solution in case of the prices are too high inside San Gimignano (we had a car also, so it was few minutes of driving from the parking area of San Gimignano). The breakfast was good and the staff was kind. Room was basic, but felt a bit \"old\" in comparison to the entire property.

A good hotel for a couple nights stay while touring round and visiting San Gimagnano with very pleasant staff. However, compared to other similarly priced and stared hotels the rooms are basic and the bathrooms somewhat neglected, but very clean. The rooms are also quite noisy as you can hear the air conditioning in other rooms, people walking round and toilets flushing.
There is an attractive restaurant in the basement and on warm evenings the courtyard is used which is a lovely setting. However, the night we ate there it was cold sitting outside with no option to go inside and the food was therefore also cold, although tasty.

The most wonderful place we stayed during our 3 week trip around Italy. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds immaculate, the pool gorgeous and the staff could not be any nicer or kinder. We were always greeted with a smile, they helped us with wonderful restaurant recommendations, laundry, any questions we had etc. The hotel has nice areas to sit and enjoy a drink or cup of coffee in the evenings or should there be a little shower. The breakfast was delicious and the selection fantastic. It was also great to have food service throughout the day. The shuttle into San Gimignano is a wonderful service - again with a smiling, helpful driver. We cannot wait to return one day. Gracie mille!

Very traditional style of hotel

Overall happy with our stay. Staff were friendly and the restaurant serves nice Italian food.

The only disappointment is the condition of the room is old. The mattress is too soft and the sofa bed for 3rd person was not comfortable because the sofa is way too old and provides little support. The room’s central heater was turned off so we have to ask for a stand-alone unit (very cranky noisy unit was provided) because the weather temperature dropped quite low.

Idyllic setting in extensive grounds

We stayed for a week in this lovely hotel which is just 3 miles south of San Gimignano. The hotel has a free minibus service to the historic town. The grounds are extensive and well maintained and there are fabulous views all around. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable. Everything in the hotel is nicely maintained and is ‘good 3 star’. I am sure we will return!

Hotel is great, perfectly maintained. It is situated in the countryside, but only a few minutes drive from San Gimignano which we would call a touristic pearl. Half of the rooms have sort of a private yard with grass, table, sunbeds. Staff is professional. We felt really comfy, enjoyed our stay a lot.

Though the room was spartan by North American standards, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was excellent, very helpful. The restaurant offered vegan options - a first for us in Italy! Gorgeous surroundings. Hilly, but a good place for a morning run. I would go back in a flash! Google Maps misdirected us to a neighbouring winery where the staff was so sweet and helpful, we went back for a wine tasting. What a lovely experience all around!

Good three star accomodation, a little more dated than the pictures would suggest. Great quiet location and next to a local olive oil producer and winery. Staff ok, not great.

Beautiful landscaping and surrounding views.

Beautiful outside grounds. Guest rooms are small, but clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant is good and on premise.

Wonderful Staff

The hotel was great and the meals were very good. The staff was the most outstanding we encountered during the trip. We had a flat tire about a mile from the hotel and the maintenance man came and helped us get back to the hotel. The receptionist staff spent a great deal of time getting someone to fix our tire because all the repair shops were closed for the weekend. After getting a mechanic to take our car to be repaired, the staff drove us to sight see and then to pick up our car after it was repaired. Their efforts were beyond the call of duty.

Oasis of peace and comfort

Staff very helpful and attentive. Food was wonderful. Location remote from any urban or town center provided a much needed feeling of calm and recuperation from our busy schedule of touristing. Pool and grounds even invited us to abandon an day of touristing to spend time enjoying the grounds of the Hotel.

Lovely central location for exploring Tuscany

Couldn't fault this wonderful hotel. Breakfast was excellent; staff very friendly and it had a beautiful scenic outlook. The only small fault were the rooms were very hot and we could not reduce the heat of the air conditioning. However this is minor compared to the overall experience of our stay.

Nice family run hotel near San Gimignano

The hotel is about 10 minutes from San Gimignano (going toward Volterra). The facilities were clean and in good condition. The staff was courteous and accommodating. Plenty of room inside and out for friends to gather and relax. There is a do it yourself laundry on site, which came in handy. Hotel is a reasonable value.
