Hot as hell

Hot as hell. There was a fan, but it did of course not cool anything down, but moving the air arround made it a bit more bearable. Still, it was only about +22 outside, and the curtains drawn, so a bit of a mystery how it could be so hot inside.

First trip to Turku, the riverside is the best area by far, lots of restaurants and bars. Recommend the castle to visit. Allow half a day cos its massive.

Although we enjoyed Turku, the Scandic Atrium was a huge disappointment. Although well located a shortish walk from the railway station and the riverside, the hotel is well overdue for a re-furb. The weather was quite warm during our visit and the room was like an oven with no aircon, so sleeping was very difficult. The hotel did provide a small electric fan, but this was pretty ineffective. only able to open a small window. Breakfast was ok, but fairly limited. Very busy at check in, but staff helpful and polite. Seems to be popular with families with small children, who we assumed were visiting the nearby Moomin Land.
Felt that the hotel did not represent good value for money and was probably the worst we have stayed in during our regular trips to Finland.

A very central location - we could walk everywhere. Very comfortable beds and quiet room. Helpful and friendly staff.

A Good Place to Stay

The check-in desk takes a little time, but the staff is helpful and kind. The rooms have plenty of room, but the bathroom does not have a clear shelf to put your incidentals. There is a good size desk to write notes on and plenty of plugs to charge phones and laptops.It is sensibly located half way between the National Cathedral and the Turku Castle, both of which are about 1 km away.

I say bulldoze the place already

This place could use a bulldozer. So dated and ugly I am amazed that Scandic is ok with keeping it in their repertoire. Also was given the wrong room type at check in and on the second night I was freezing. In the morning when I opened the curtains I saw that the cleaner had left the window open. In the middle of Finnish winter! Who does that! Room cleaning was questionable anyway. The bed had two single sheets on it going left to right. What is this, a sleepover at high school? Breakfast was not up to the usual Scandic standard. The omelette could be classified as soup. Oh and wifi was slow. For the price this place charges, I would not bother.

The good: Pleasant staff, boss (and amazing) barista, well located

The bad: The room smelled strange, the linen on one of the beds wasn't clean, there was what looked like a large patch of mold on one of the mattresses, one of the towels had clearly been used (and has been sitting there a while), the shower didn't drain, and this hotel lacks some of the toiletries that other hotels have (if that's a thing for you).

Summary: Worst Scandic Hotel we've been in and sub-par compared to other \"nice\" hotels, but staff was great and it was manageable. It wouldn't be a first choice by a long shot, but there are worse places.

Nice hotel in a good location

This hotel is located near the river which is the main artery of the city. Therefore, you can easily get to anywhere on foot. The room was clean and the bathroom was very nice with a lot of mirrors. There were some metal/glass doors between the corridors which were annoying if you had to carry a suitcase but otherwise ok. I was able to check in earlier as my room was already available so that was a great plus. There is also a nice sauna downstairs with a small pool. This was definitely a great facility and I was happy I could use it. The breakfast was also very nice with a lot of choice. There was also a choice to buy some essential items at the reception so another handy thing. The only thing that could improve would be the towel racks - if they were heated, they would dry the towels. The price of one night was also quite expensive so it might be a good idea to make it more affordable. All in all, I enjoyed my trip in the hotel.

Convenient Location and Amenities

The location can't be beat. The breakfast is great. The staff is very attentive. The pool is nice and there is self-service laundry on site. It was recently purchased by Scandic and assume (as I have stayed in other Scandic locations) that much needed maintenance will be done. (lots of rust in the bathroom, wear and tear in the room so hard to clean, elevators not working consistently). I did not have my sheets cleaned during my 9 day stay so communication with cleaning staff needs a bit of improvement. There is no gym on site only a nearby gym with an expensive daily rate so the advertising needs to be updated. Also, make sure to ask for a room with air conditioning as only about half have it and already in May it was hot. I would still recommend it but ask for specific things you want.

Comfortable hotel - short walk to the shopping are

20 minute walk from Viking Terminal. NOTE: A BUS DOES PASS BY THE HOTEL.
Efficient check in - we were very early, but they did accomodate us with a nice quiet room on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel, which suited use. Updated bathroom, with a single lounge chair and coffee table. Breakfast was plentiful.

Too expensive breakfast.

The stay did not include breakfast and I was shocked to hear that the price seperately bought would be 19euroa each, a total of 38 for us each morning! That is an outrageous price and we had our breakfast out on the town for close to half price.

The room had nothing, not even a hotwater boiler and the room temperature at night was too high. We had to go and recharge my boyfriends keykard twice because it did not work. He had not stored close to his phone or any other electric device.

Also this was my 10th and 11th night booked via hotels.com but they did not give me a free night but I had to pay them both and wait for the free night to be the 12th. This although i payed for the 10th on arrival.

Good things were that the place was clean and in a central place in Turku, close to the river which is a lovely environment.

Only the floor could have been cleaner - a shame. Had a lovely time to look around the town using the hotel bicycles - that's why we like staying Cumulus.

The hotel location is really good! Easy to be reached from either bus or train station and only 2 blocks from center and from the Aura river! Besides enjoying Turku, it's worth to visit Naantali town (only 20-30 min by bus from Turku) also while you are in Naantali, you must visit Moomin World :)

Our hotel was at center city. Walked to the castle stopped at boat museum on our way took taxi to the cathedral from there walked along the water stopped at the art museum. Back up on main found Stockman and market hall. Best of all the Finnish gift shop where everything is made in Finland \"Ideaestradi\".
Hotel had everything we needed heated floors in bathroom awesome.

Huoneistossa ei ilmastointia vain kaksi pöytätuuletinta. Huoneessa oli tosi kuuma ja tuulettimia piti pitää yöllä päällä mikä vaikutti yöuniin. Tuulettimet rätisi ja kävi veto kaulaan ja seuraavana päivänä oli kurkku kipeä. Huone oli muutenkin vähän ”kolkko” hintaan nähden. Hintaansa nähden olisi olettanut parempaa.

Aamupala oli hyvä ja palvelu vastaanotossa erinomainen.

We noticed that the interior and facilities of the hotel were somewhat outdated and not quite in line with the standard we have experienced at other Scandic hotels where we have stayed. Interestingly, there are two more Scandic hotels on the same street. This raises the question of what standard those hotels maintain. It looks like our next visit to Turku will involve exploring these alternatives.

It's worth mentioning that the hotel still gets approval, primarily due to its excellent geographical location, as it is located right next to one of the city's more reputable hotels.

Mukava hotelli. Matkustan työkseni ja olen ollut hotellissa useasti nauttien. Hotellissa ei ollut tungosta ja minulle annettiin inva huone alakerrasta! Huoneeseen kuului viereisen siivoushuoneen meteli ja rullakoiden siirtelystä aiheutuneet äänet. Hieno valinta hotellilta. Minulla on toki mahdollisuus valita seuraaville reissuille yöpaikka Turusta.

Henkilökunta todella ystävällistä. Illalla saimme vielä kahdeksan jälkeen hotelliravintolasta ruokaa ja palvelu hyvä myös täällä. Perhehuone oli siisti, mutta pinnat vähän kulunut. Huone oli melko lämmin, ilmeisesti ei ilma vaihtunut ihan täydellä teholla. Onneksi ei ollut helleyö. Hyvä hinta-laatusuhde huoneessa ja maittava aamiainen, jossa erilaisia vaihtoehtoja myös esim. Gluteenittomille.

Vastaanoton asiakaspalvelija oli huikea. Huoneet ja ravintola jo parhaat päivänsä nähneitä. Aamiaisella kahvikupit (yms( koko ajan loppu ja liian paljon ihmisiä tilaan nähden. Henkilökunta ei kerennyt siistiä ja täyttää, vaikka olivat liikkeessä koko ajan.

Huoneessa vanhanaikaisesti erilliset katkaisijat
Valaisimille ja sammuttaa piti jokainen erikseen huoneesta lähtiessä. Kylpyhuone kaipaa remonttia - suihkuseinä rikki toinen puoli ja vessanpöntön kansi kellastunut.
Aamiainen riittävä.
Uima-allas kiva - tosin vain yksi pukuhuone ja sauna eikä lapsi poika 8 v päässyt saunaan kun oli naisten vuoro ja miesten vuoro myöhemmin.

Palvelu oli ystävällistä ja hotelli on hyvällä paikalla. Saimme huoneen pari tuntia etuajassa. Aamiainen oli runsas ja maittava. Huoneen siisteys oli ok, mutta käytävillä oli esimerkiksi likainen lasten sänky koko vierailun ajan. Huone oli häiritsevän kuuma eikä pelkkä pöytätuuletin auttanut juurikaan. Pääasiassa kuitenkin positiivinen vierailu.

Huoneemme sijaitsi hotellin ilmeisesti vanhemmassa siivessä, jossa todella nuhjuista. Päivä oli helteinen, ja huone oli kuin sauna, ilmastointi oli keskusilmastointi jota ei voinut säätää. Huoneessa oli vaan pieni pöytätuuletin. Ikkuna sekä verhot oli jätetty auki, jolloin ulkoa tuli vielä kuumempaa ilmaa. Huoneessa oli kuuma myös yöllä. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja palvelualtista. Aamupala oli hyvä.

Hotellilla tosi hyvä sijainti Turun keskustassa, joen läheisyydessä. Aulatilat olivat siistit ja mukavasti sisustettu. Huone sen sijaan näytti melko ikääntyneeltä ja päivitys ei varmaan olisi pahitteeksi. Huoneessa oli melko lämmin, jota helpottamassa oli pöytätuuletin. Ei ihan ilmastoinnin veroinen ratkaisu. :) Saunatilat ja uima-allas olivat viihtyisät ja siistit. Erityiskiitos hydrohex-treenimahdollisuudesta! Hotelli on siisti ja muuten tosi kiva, mutta huoneissa ei ole ilmastointia. Siksi huoneet ovat kesäisin kuumia. Huoneissa on lattia-/pöytätuuletin, mutta se ei valitettavasti auta ihan kauheasti. Toisella kerralla yöpyessä huoneen ikkunan sai auki, mikä auttoi, mutta toisella kerralla huoneessa ei ollut avattavaa ikkunaa.

Viileään aikaan hotelli on tosi kiva, ja esim. aamupala on hyvä ja palvelu aina ystävällistä.

Hotelli todella kulunut ja pikaisen remontin tarpeessa.
Huoneen parkettien lakkapinta kuluneet puhki ja lattiat tummuneet ja likaiset. Verhot likaiset ja repsottavat. Koko hotelli on kuin muinaismuisto 90 luvulta. Hinta/Laatusuhde ei vastaa toisiaan.

Smidig incheckning trots mycket folk. Trevlig personal både i receptionen och i restaurangen. Det som inte var bra är städningen på rummet. Golvet helt grusigt och under sängen och fåtöljen var golvet alldeles fläckigt av smuts.

Yöpyminen oli ok. Se olisi ollut vielä parempi mikäli huoneessa olisi ollut ilmastointi. Sauna ja uima-allasosasto ei ollut käytettävissä, joten siitä pieni miinus. Se olisi voitu hyvittää jollain tavoin. Huone oli iso ja sängyt olivat hyvät. Yleisilme siisti ja suihkussakin tuli kunnon paineella vesi. Joissakin hotelleissa suihkun veden paine on olematon ja se ärsyttää.

Ihan perus. Mukavuutta alensi se, että huone oli todella kuuma, vaikka ulkona alle 15 astetta. Ja lisävuode oli todella epämukava. Ja uima-allas oli remontissa, mitä ei hotellikuvauksessa mainittu (osa valintaperustetta)

Hyvä sijainti. Hotelli kaipaa vähintään pintaremonttia monin paikoin. Nyt hotelli on aikamatka 80-luvulle. Sauna ja uima-allas eivät olleet käytössä. Olivatko remontissa?

Kiva hotelli ja hyvä palvelu

Respa palveli upeasti! Oli ihana uima-allas ja hyvä sauna. Ravintola oli auki 21.30:een ja se riitti lapsen kanssa iltapalan nauttimiseen. Oli hiljaista yöllä. Aamiainen tosi monipuolinen.
