This was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. I had three poor nights of sleep and now have a sore neck and back.

In addition, the carpet in the third floor hallway is a tripping hazard.

During breakfast one morning, the chef was arguing with her juice machine suppliers, and standing in the way of customers. I feel this meeting should have happened after service or somewhere else.

Fancy but not comfortable and old

Our stay was during a very warm time. There is no AC, only a fan. Our room was sweltering. Ridiculously hot. We had to keep our windows wide open and direct the fans to blow in the cooler night air. SO hot. The beds were also quite hard and uncomfortable. The staff was nice, but if you can't sleep well in a hotel, what's the point?

This is an old hotel that has had some upgrades recently I believe. The staff were really nice and the rooms were clean, with nice toiletries. The lobby is comfortable with a coffee machine and tea available. You can keep your bike in a room in the underground car park. Centrally located for the city centre. The park it's next to is a bit grim (not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you walk there at night).

It lost a star for one reason - the WiFi. It was really unreliable and I had to rely on my data. This is something that should be looked into - perhaps it's just certain rooms? - as in 2025 the WiFi needs to be reliable.

Iconic hotel in the center of Regensburg

The hotel is a local landmark, in prime location, close to the railway station and the historic Altstadt. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped with large, renovated bathroom and separate toilet. Towels were exchanged daily and the room was spotless. In summer, the lack of AC may be a problem. Lobby is spacious with comfortable armchairs.

A beautiful upscale hotel, managed by Eurostars near the Regensburg train station and the inner city. Cathedral (Dom) is nearby, my double room was beautiful, high ceilings, seating, large bed, TV with international channels, bathroom was modern, shower excellent same like the red pomegranate amenities, they smell so nice, loved the huge bed, the public areas are magnificent too, breakfast is wonderful, easy going and very tasty. When visiting Regensburg I personally recommend the Eurostars Park Hotel Maximilian wholeheartedly. Hopefully I will be staying again in the future too. Staff had been delightful and wonderful at the same time. Thank you.

A very nice hotel centrally located within a 5-10 walk of the main town square. The hotel is a bit on the old side but it's recently been remodeled. We are returning guests as we stayed here back in 2011 and the property has gone through some major updates since then. We stayed during the winter taking in the Christmas markets. The location is perfect. It has easy underground parking and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived early on our check in day and the front desk person went out of her way to get us in our room early. The breakfast was great and the room was very clean and comfortable and spacious. I will say though that when we visited before it was the summer and very hot out. The rooms didn't (and I still think they don't) have any air conditioning and our room was very hot in the summer which made for an uncomfortable sleep a few nights. However, that didn't prevent us from returning. Would we stay here again? Most definitely yes! The staff and location make this the ideal location.

This hotel is nice. The room was adequate. They were nice and had the 2 beds and a pack and play ready for us. The breakfast was good. Centrally located. The basilica St Emmeram was a short walk and the stone bridge was about 10 minutes from there. Thurns and taxis christmas market was super close too. The only thing I didn’t like was the area around the hotel. i felt a bit unsafe walking at night. Too many foreign men around the shopping area. Other than that I recommend it.

Nice Hotel with palace like feel

The hotel is well located and the staff is friendly. Some parts of the hotel need some TLC, but the room we stayed in had an updated and clean bathroom and the room was a good size. The bed was a little too soft for me, but not so bad to make me not want to stay again when we go back to Regensburg. Breakfast was good and typical for European mid-range cost hotels. The hotel feels like you have stepped back in time and are staying at a royal's palace.

Very impressive when we walked in but sadly not a really cheerful welcome. Room was lovely and roomy with nice view of the pond. Fan in room as no AC which was good as you couldn't keep windows open due to traffic noise. Perfectly adequate for sleeping. First day their only restaurant was closed for a private event but we weren't told until we went there for a drink and meal after a 4km walk on a very warm day. Nothing else available on site even for a drink and no suggestions given so had to find something ourselves. Last morning had breakfast which was very average and cold. Told desk clerk who said....sorry about that and charged us anyway.

Old School Charming Hotel at perfect location with a character. Location very close to train station, but at the same time very quiet and close to pedestrian Old Town Altstadt.
Rooms are Big / With High I think 4 meters Ceilings, which are not usual at ALL nowadays and only saw it at Italian Palazzo style hotels prior.
Wood / Parquet style floors at rooms and not some carpet… which I can’t stand.
Separate Shower and Bathroom rooms, which again not common.
Dining room is once again old school charming and excellent breakfast.
Staff very polite / good spirited and helpful.
Internet speed is around 100 mbps, which is ok.
Yes - carpet at halls leading to rooms is old and needs replacing , Yes - too Few outlets at rooms so charge ekectronics conveniently without un plug things, Yes - the room closes with ole fashioned KEY with big weight attached …
Yes - Needs Face Lift in these regards…
But … Did I like it? - Yes, Do I recc it - Yes I do…
IF ever again at that Picteresque Town will Stay again - Yes …

Misleading photos and in need of attention

If I’m honest, this hotel was very much “fur coat but no underwear”! The pictures looked fabulous and the location is right in the town but, apart from the facade, it is old, outdated and needs renovation. Room size was ok but no air-con, average wi-fi speed, bathroom was clean but that’s about it. Why there was a bidet in the room but no toilet next to it is beyond me. The toilet was in a different room! Furniture was tired and dated, bed not particularly comfortable, charging points completely insufficient in number and position. On site parking was in the lower basement with narrow access (for an SUV). No restaurant on site apart from for breakfast and the breakfast somewhat lacklustre. All in all, not worth the money I paid. 1 redeeming feature was the young lady who checked me in and out. She could not have been nicer!

First impressions last and this wasn’t a good one.

Hotel:
The hotel itself was absolutely fine. Clean, modern and generally very pleasant.

Check-in:
The lady at the check-in was rude and seemed like she did not want to be there. She constantly interrupted me when I asked about the parking reservation that I had made, she went on about the breakfast that I didn’t reserve and was generally very unfriendly to deal with. She also told me I didn’t have a booking until she actually read my German ID card properly. This was not what I needed after such a long drive and certainly not what I would expect from front office staff at a four star hotel.

Check-out: Conversely, the short conversation I had with the lady on reception when I checked out using the online check-out in the morning was extremely friendly and thankful.

This hotel could be a lot classier if the doors were all refinished, the tarnished old doorknobs were replaced with elegant shiny brass hardware and the carpeting in the hallways was replaced because there were bleached spots and spots on them everywhere!! Very disappointing to have this old hotel in such poor condition! Not a four star due to these very noticeable eyesore issues!

What a great property in the heart of Regensburg.

Two things I want to mention on the not so positive side is the breakfast was bit limited (you could tell that the current world economic situation had its impact here as wel). And i would say the hotel must have been in it's prime luxury in the 90's. I am exiced for when it gets a refresh as it is such a landmark in Regensburg.

Noisy nights with no AC and windows open

Nice looking Rococo style hotel in old historic part of town and a short walk from the main rail station which is how we got to and left from Regensburg. Our room was on the back of the hotel along an alley and most every night of the 5 nights we stayed, there were some loud people walking down the alley which disrupted our sleep. Since there was NO air conditioning we slept with the windows cracked open for the cool air. The included breakfast was pretty darn good with a nice variety of food choices.

The property is close to the train station, so this is good for those with luggage. It is an old building that could use some extra TLC. For summer visits be aware the room we were in has no air conditioning. Heat is great in the winter. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the park. It is a busy intersection so traffic noise might be a problem. For Christkindlmarkt visitors, it is a 10 min walk to the market, when it snows it is quite charming. The hotel staff are amazing and the breakfast buffet is very nice. Ask for extra pillows and a tea kettle if you would like to have tea or instant coffee. A handy thing we found was a nearby dollar store. Oh, and the walk to the historic district takes about 15 minutes.

It is a shame, the hotel looks lovely and it has an amazing history. I dont want to put the hotel down as I did love the romanticism of it. The rooms are clean and well presented, but in the height of summer there is no way of cooling the room down and it builds up over the day to be suffocating. We had to open the window around midnight (once the wasps had gone to bed) but it was noisy outside (Friday night revellers)...eventually shut the window around 4am but still very hot. I know there is nothing the staff can do and the staff are all great and friendly, I cannot say a bad word about the staff. But the hotel owners really need to invest in some air conditioning, it would improve the hotel enormously. I would stay again if this was sorted.

Room was spacious but needed air conditioning to make it comfortable ( it was unseasonably warm ). They did provide a fan which helped a lot. Parking was convenient but expensive, 13 euros per day, which matched the local park houses....perhaps the paying guests should get a better rate ?

Weekend stay

Staying over a Friday and Saturday isn’t good. The noise from outside is dreadful, girls screaming, boys and girls shouting loudly up until at least 4am. Sunday and Monday then were quiet. No longer the best end of town due to crowds of youths hanging around McDonalds. Room was on 3rd floor it is very very warm no aircon only a fan. Breakfast was good but cold meats and fruit not covered and often saw flies on and off the food. Free 24 hour coffee in reception area never seen working, didn’t when we tried. Stayed at this hotel 3 times over the last couple of years but don’t think we will choose it again. Sorry

Fails to live up to its own publicity

This hotel is advertised as being a 4 star hotel in a baroque palace. It is not 4 stars and it has never been a baroque palace. It has no restaurant, no room service except for breakfast and no beverage service unless you count self service coffee and tea in the reception area without milk. No complimenatary mineral water in the room as advertised.
The room was small by any standard. Luggage had to be stored inderneath the desk to enable one to move thus reducing the amenity. The lighting was inadequate making reading impossible. The wardrobe had no door handles. There was no air conditioning. A fan was provided, but this was a floor fan. The available power points were either at floor level or under furniture which made the charging of electronic devices difficut. The beds were hard.
The bathroom was small. The bath was slippery which meant that.any one taking a shower was at risk of falling. All in all it constituted a health hazzard.
Lastly it was noisy.
Altogether a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 4 star hotel with pretensions.

Short vacation

Nicest hotel on our vacation. Very friendly desk staff, breakfast staff must of had an awesome food day. Amazing sites to see in the area, be sure to check out the arched bridge, eat at the restaurant next to the foot of it. Visit the local breweries.

Great hotel

This is a fully modernised hotel which still retains all its original charm and elegance. My room was spacious and comfortable. Buffet Breakfast was very good. The underfround car park was great.
It is on the very edge of the old town so very easy to walk to all the main sights in this absolutely beautiful town.
