Nice enough place, but not easy to walk to anything other than the lagoon. Tough to eat as there is no restaurant onsite, only a small snack place on rooftop in the afternoon. Two rooftop pools are nice. The views of the water from the room and balcony are awesome. Offer some shuttle one-way service to beaches and shopping and to the airport. 15 mins to the airport, which is a plus if looking for a stay before leaving. Basic breakfast with lots of mexican dishes but not international dishes for expats.

The pool only had 6 lounge chairs which is minimal for a hotel this size. Some of the lounge chairs were broken. Only one restaurant on site open from 3pm to 9pm with very limited menu. I asked the front desk if they could call a taxi for me and they said they didn’t know how to do it. No beach nearby and a long way away from restaurants and shops. If you want to use this hotel for a one night stay it is acceptable. Anything longer than that and you will be very disappointed. The website states it is in the hotel zone but it is not! They have a snack bar which is very expensive and limited. Website is not very accurate. I will not stay here again. As a matter of fact we left after 1 week of our 2 week booking because it was so inconvenient of a location and it does not meet what was advertised!

At check in had to fight for the room type I paid for. The room had badly stained stools and sofa bed cover, carpet needed cleaning as well. Complained about the stools and they exchanged one but it was still stained. The air conditioner sounded like an engine starting up which was on and off all night. Staff was excellent.

I stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Cancun from February 15 to February 19 with my 8-year-old son. The hotel itself looks nice and for the price it seemed like a good option, and most of our stay appeared fine. However, on the morning of checkout we discovered that $50 USD were missing from my 8-year-old son’s wallet inside our room. The wallet originally contained 50 euros and $90 USD and had been left on the kitchen counter in the room along with my laptop, tablet, passport and other personal belongings that we always kept visible during the stay. When we were packing to leave, I checked his wallet and $50 USD were gone. My son is 8 years old and had not spent the money. I immediately went to the front desk and reported the situation. The receptionist told me he would check with the staff and asked for my email since I was leaving that morning. I waited for an update before leaving but nothing was resolved and no one followed up. Today is March 3 and I have still received no email, explanation, or response from the hotel. What makes this even more upsetting is that this money was taken from a child’s wallet. I have traveled to Mexico many times and stayed in many hotels and never experienced anything like this. The hotel may look nice, but the complete lack of response after reporting a possible theft in the room is extremely disappointing. I hope Expedia and the hotel take this seriously and properly investigate what happened

Breakfast, staff, amenities were good! The appearance of the lobby, halls, furniture etc. was a bit \"tired\" and I thought we had perhaps made a mistake but it was great for us!

Be careful at the Cancun airport when getting your shuttle! We ended up taking a cab which was a ridiculous cost!

Things we loved were the location for easy access to everywhere if you have a rental car, the breakfast was always delicious (Mexican dishes, not many American foods other than the occasional hotcakes and seldom sausage) the food at the rooftop snack bar was convenient and tasty, the staff were friendly, everyone was hard working. Don’t forget to bring extra pesos for tipping especially in the food areas, it’s an expectation. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor with a peek a boo view of the ocean and a view of the cancun hotel zone and really enjoyed the lush greenery and birds. The only downer was that we weren’t beachfront but you get what you pay for. We would love to stay again! The kids enjoyed the pool regularly

Overall very pleasant stay (16 nights). Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Great pool area on the roof top and bar with delicious mexican food. Internet connection was inconsistent throughout our stay. Drain in our walk-in shower was not working well (which was reported to the hotel staff). Main bus line does not reach the hotel so walked about 10-15 minutes to the nearest bus stop. Overall positive experience. Thank you

This was a first time visit to Cancun for dental work. The dental clinic offered free shuttles to the clinic and to/from the airport. The hotel was just about as perfect as I can imagine. The room was huge. Since I was expecting dental work and soft foods, the fully equipped kitchen was perfect. I loved the large screen tv, especially since I spent a lot of time in my room recovering from the dental work. OMG, the bathroom was huge with plenty of counter space. The walk-in shower was amazing with quick hot water. The view overlooking a greenspace with the ocean beyond was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was a little different from what you get in the States, but had ample enough choices for American breakfast with a lot of Mexican dishes that I tried and enjoyed. Everything was amazingly clean and well kept throughout the hotel.
The clerks up front were very friendly and courteous and easy to communicate with. Most of the room servicers did not speak English, but we managed to communicate with a lot of laughter at times trying to understand one another. The few requests that I had, I used my Google Translator to preemptively jot down my request in Spanish and leave on the kitchen counter.
I felt very secure with front gate workers that actually checked every vehicle's credentials coming into the premises.
In summary, I can't imagine a better experience; especially for a base for dental recovery - my highest recommendation!

We stayed here as it was very close to the airport and we were one night ahead of our resort reservation. The hotel was clean and spacious and were greeted with friendly staff. There is nothing bad I can say. We had a breakfast added to our reservation an it was a standard buffet breakfast. If you need to come to the hotel from Cancun airport take an uber it is $12USD.

There was no shuttle from or to the airport unless you reserve it 48 hours ahead and it’s not guaranteed. The transportation from the airport was $75 US for an 8 min ride because Iber is not allowed to pick up at the airport. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, and nothing within walking distance. There is a basic snack bar at the pool that operates limited hours. The breakfast is very limited. Even though the hotel was half empty they gave me a horrible room with a balcony overlooking the wall and the dumpsters. After much complaining I was changed to a different area.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Problems with feather pillows and allergies upon arrival even though I had been assured there would be no feather pillows. Great big old nasty pubic hair on the nightstand. On my last day I saw cockroach in the breakfast room. The room was pretty good although sometimes there was a very strong smell of sewer. Not a great place to stay especially if you don't have a car because there is no public transit. The first closest bus stop was about 2 miles up the road.

Disappointing stay – not recommended

Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet our expectations and I would not recommend it.

We arrived early with very tired children and were promised an earlier check-in, but when we returned at the official check-in time (3:00 PM), we still had to wait an additional 1.5 hours. The staff at reception was rude and unhelpful.

The location is very inconvenient — nothing nearby, no walking areas, and no accessible beach within walking distance due to restricted hotel properties.

We booked a lagoon view room but were given a lower-floor room facing a wall. There was a strong smell of dampness both in the corridor and the room. The air conditioning and ventilation were extremely loud and faulty, making it impossible to sleep. Despite multiple complaints, nothing was fixed.

Breakfast was very poor: limited options, repetitive, not fresh, and unsuitable for children. The so-called “restaurant” is just a bar with snacks and overpriced drinks. The pools were old and poorly maintained, with visible rust.

Overall, a very disappointing experience.

This hotel has a really good location. The room was clean and it had a nice view of the jungle. The kitchen was well equipped. We had an issue with lizards coming out of the washroom drain which was scary and off putting. We requested an upgrade but they denied it saying they were sold out even though online it showed vacancies. The rooftop pool, food as well the views were amazing!

The room was not clean upon arrival, with hair, stained sheets, and mold in several areas. Despite multiple requests, housekeeping did not respond promptly, and the room was not serviced. No one picks up the phone. At 10pm when came back to the room, I was given 2 sheets and dustpan and had to clean the room and change to sheets myself. Even after speaking with the General Manager, service during the stay was inconsistent, with missed cleaning details and missing amenities.

Breakfast was acceptable for the price, and the scheduled shuttle service was convenient. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations.

Chegamos às 20h, tinha fila para o check-in e somente um atendente. O mesmo tinha acontecido 16 dias antes, no mesmo horário, quando também me hospedei, então não foi um caso isolado. O check-in é demorado (10-15 minutos), então a fila não anda. Me deram um quarto com ar condicionado fazendo barulho alto, então voltei ao balcão menos de 5 minutos depois, falei do problema e disse que precisava de outro quarto. O atendente disse para eu entrar novamente na fila. O restaurante do hotel estava prestes a fechar e eu não conseguiria jantar com a minha família se ficasse na fila novamente. Isso causaria um transtorno enorme porque estávamos exaustos e queríamos apenas comer e dormir para voltar ao Brasil no dia seguinte.

Pedi para falar com o gerente e o atendente disse que não havia nenhum no hotel ou disponível por telefone. Insisti, expliquei a situação e o atendente disse que só me atenderia se o próximo cliente da fila permitisse, causando constrangimento, o que achei absurdo. Mas a pessoa permitiu (reclamando) e fui atendido. Foram 3 minutos e eu estava com a nova chave.

Resumindo, a experiência de check-in é péssima e o atendente despreparado. Há quartos com problema no ventilador do ar condicionado, fazendo um barulho muito alto. O ventilador do balcão de atendimento tinha esse mesmo barulho alto.

O restaurante (bar) do hotel tem comida muito boa e o tamanho do quarto é bom, mas a experiência de check-in causa stress e frustração indesejados para quem está de férias.

Great hotel for famines with kids. Rooms with two bedrooms are perfect for kids. If you’re a couple with no kids, this hotel is not for you. No real restaurants, need to Uber to get something to eat. Breakfast was just okay. Rooms are fairly dated and balconies are super small.

Great location and worth every penny. We rented a car so driving to the beaches in the cancun hotel zone was easy. The hotel does have a shuttle that takes you to dolphin (delphine) beach. For the price Residence Inn is super conviently located. It has a fully equipped kitchen so great. Full size fridge as well. Roof top bar and pool is amazing too .

The hotel was very understaffed on arrival, had to wait in line a long time as there was only one person at reception to check-in guests and manage the hotel snack store. The list of amenities includes a restaurant, there is an outdoor pool bar but it's no restaurant. Service was very very slow, they didn't even bring drinks until they brought some food about 30 minutes in. Room was good, included breakfast was fine.

We had a good experience at this hotel. We chose it due to the proximity to the airport as it was to be for one night only after a weeklong stay further south. Due to a flight cancellation, we were fortunate the hotel could accommodate us for a 2nd night at such a busy time.

Andrea C. at reception was very helpful and ensured our needs were met for the extra night. He was polite and efficient. He also went above and beyond to help us with a lost item, which helped make our journey home more enjoyable.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. We had everything we needed. All staff were friendly and welcoming - the rooftop bar and breakfast bar servers, security personnel and hospitality teams.
The rooftop pools were clean. More shade could be provided for the kids area but otherwise we enjoyed the last bit of sunshine before our trip home.
Breakfast was typical for this type of hotel.

The apartament was nice except for a tolerable funky smell in the bathroom (not bothersome enough to ask for a room change).
The staff is hard working and polite.
They get overwhelmed at breakfast and often after 9-9:30 (haven’t been there earlier) we had to wait for cutlery and cups.However,this is because the guests don’t clean the tables as they should,even though there is a visibly designated place for that purpose.This makes it hard for the staff to wash and replenish everything in a timely manner, as they must go around the dining room to clean the tables first.To makes things worse,nobody tips.I felt bad for these employees ,sadly they tend to a low class clientele.

Room was in good condition, they need to fix their showers with doors, the water leaks out to the other area of the bathroom from the shower. They need to provide towels for each of the room member. We were 4, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, we were only given 2 or 3 towels every time even after explaining. I asked for extra time to check out since our original flight departure was at 7 pm that day, they said that's fine, but on the day of check out they were talking like they never agreed to it and we were only given tile until 2 pm, even in that case they took our access to the room at 12 by disabling the access card. I booked this hotel since this was the only one offering 2 queen beds in the hotel zone area and also has kitchen.

The 2 rooms we booked had maintenance issues - consistent smell of sewage in one and low shower water pressure, poor sink drainage and loose faucet in another. Also, the rooms were musty and extremely dusty. Housekeeping did not clean well and did not provide a proper replenishment of towels or wash cloths.

Additionally, customer service was poor from Andrea at the front desk. She was nonchalant and seemed uninterested in our complaints.

However, Carlos was great and helped us with a room change. His service was memorable. Ulises at the restaurant upstairs was also great.

Nice clean hotel with spacious room. The only downsides are the lack of readily available transportation to/from the hotel (except the hotel offered scheduled location specific shuttle) and the mediocre breakfast buffet, which is definitely not a Marriott standard.

The staff are friendly, and the hotel’s location is great. However, the airport shuttle service was extremely disappointing. We landed 15 minutes early and still had to wait nearly two hours for pickup. The shuttle is operated by a third party (MTS), and because passengers were staying at different locations, they were unable to find available vans to pick us up.

The hotel room itself was acceptable but not very clean. There was leaking around the dishwasher area on the floor, likely from previous guests, and we noticed bug or mud residue on the ceiling—something we didn’t see initially because we were not in the room during daylight for the first two nights.

We recently stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Cancun with our kids and parents, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff truly stood out — everyone was extremely humble, polite, and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made us feel at home.

The rooftop patio was a big highlight for our family — a great place to relax and enjoy quality time together. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with a very good variety, fresh items, and options suitable for both adults and kids.

Overall, it was a comfortable, family-friendly stay with excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel to families visiting Cancun and would happily stay here again.

yes. All it was missing was room service and better chilaquiles sauce, oh and aour cream for them. They only had it our fist day.
