The view from our triple room was STUNNING, the room, and particularly the bathroom, were warm (it was the coldest month of the year), the grounds were AMAZING as it was still the Christmas/ New Year season.

I loved the hotel. Unfortunately, there are no dining or reservation options for paid hotel guests who are not with a large company party.
ALL, but one, staff are very kind and do their best to accommodate. We werent permitted to have drinks in the bar, nor sit anywhere outside at night, despite no one sitting there, because we werent with these large parties.
They do have luggage service if you call for pickup. The spa was nice (bring your swimsuit as they are not nuse like German Sauna).
We spent the majority of our 3 days there, in our room, but it was really beautiful.
The HIKE, is better taken up the stairs and not the road. Breakfast was wonderful.
I would NOT recommend coming here at anytime in December. Zurich overall is EXTREMELY underwhelming and overpriced. I wouldnt visit again on my own dime.

It was a great stay and excellent value for money. This was my second time staying, and it was just as comfortable as the first.

As for the room, the only constructive feedback would be:
•A larger smart TV would be a nice upgrade.
•A latch on the windows would make it easier to keep them open on warm nights.
•While there is an ironing service available, having an iron and ironing board in the room would be more convenient.

Overall, it’s a great hotel with lovely rooms, and with a few small improvements it could easily reach a 5-star experience.

I wish I knew the closest train was out of service before booking. I loved the hotel and the nearby walks/hikes, but it takes an hour to get to town. They have a replacement bus service (two separate buses) to the next closest station. Those buses only run from 6:20am to midnight. This is rough for some travellers. It is also hard to figure out how to get there at first. Our map took us to the bottom of the mountain at the back side instead of the front, and we had to hike up with our stuff. Avoid the tram - take the nearest train to Schweighof train station then catch the two busses near (EV1 or EV2)z Do not book this place if you have an early morning or late night planned - you will be paying too much money in taxis. Overall the location is beautiful, and we loved our stay. I just can’t stress enough how the location is quite tough for a person who is not familiar with the area and the transit. Avoid Apple & Google maps and rely on the Zurich metro website. We spent a lot of time in the hotel as it was harder to get and stay in town for long periods. If you love to come & go from town and eat out for every meal, avoid staying here. The hotel food is extremely pricy. You need to make grocery runs and take back food as there are no other close options.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room itself was very clean cosy - all facilities worked well and we enjoyed access to English TV channels. I slept like a log every night. The views of Zurich were outstanding and beautiful.
Our arrival was made tricky by the engineering works on the rail service. This resulted in our maps directing us to walk up the mountain from Albisgütli. Once we’d started, we had to carry on but it is quite a climb!! Not recommended for inexperienced hikers! Day 2, we learned of the bus replacement service which ran perfectly and served us well for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the ‘marketstall’ food van served beverages and snacks - excellent nuggets and pretzels!

The view from this hotel is incredible. Even with the current rail replacement bus to get you there, it is well worth it. The room was spacious and clean, but some of the decor felt a little tired. The service wasn’t the best (we asked twice times for robes and slippers to use the wellness centre despite being assured before arrival that they’d be in our room), and water was only provided for the first night. The breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed that on a terrace with the amazing view.

Our stay at the hotel was overall very pleasant. The place is beautiful, and the views of the surrounding area are stunning. Getting to the hotel from Zürich SBB is currently a bit difficult due to ongoing railway construction. You need to take a train from platform 22, and then transfer to two buses: EV1 and EV2 goes smooth. The route goes through 3 Zurich zones – a one-way ticket costs about 9 CHF, but you can also buy a 24-hour ticket for around 18 CHF.
We spent the first night in a room with a view of a concrete wall, but the next day we were moved to a beautiful room with a view of the city. The hotel staff were quite friendly and spoke good English.
The spa we had booked in advance was well-equipped – bathrobes and slippers were provided. I would definitely go back, but only if I could get a room with a view.

My only real complaint is that the property is labeled \"car free\", Yet I was sad to see multiple delivery trucks parked right outside my window and a personal car parked at the steps to rooms there all night too. Even saw a taxi dropping off as I hiked in. Yet I booked this excited about the car free idea, so I took the train up and it's not a long hike in from there. Yet this is a luxury hotel I'd say, and ritzy guest don't like to walk with luggage. I get that. So don't call it car free or say \"car free for the lower end guest\". LOL

The staff was very nice and so was my room. Breakfast buffet a super nice selection. Great views from the area but it rained and so I didn't get to hike or go up the tower.

I do recommend this place, especially if wanting a romantic get-away night.

Amazing views, quiet in the evenings. Definitely a walk up hill to the property, but they do come to pick up your luggage at the bottom and transport it up. About a 20 min train ride very convenient for public transportation. I recommend getting the Zurich card you get free entrance to museums and unlimited public transportation.
They also will provide adaptor when ask, which definitely came in handing as I completely forgot.

I love the location. The hotel is ok. We booked 2 days. We arrived on the 31st and left on the 2nd of Jan. New Years eve the hotel has a private party and a private dinner for people who made reservations. At night around 11pm I went outside and took pictures because the view is amazing. As I go back inside, I'm not sure if thats a security guard, I didn't ask. He stopped and interrogated me for entering the hotel saying theres a private party going on and it's for guests only. So I said im a guest of the hotel but i didn't make reservation of the party . He didn't believe me and demanded proof of a guest key and an ID. So i showed my guest key and entered. He still follwed me to the main lobby and and asked the receptionist to check. People were looking at me at that time, like im gate crashing. So i showed the receptionists my rm key and the receptionists asked me to write my name which i complied. The computer verified that i checked in for 2 days. Afterwards, both of them didn't even apologize. Im a traveler. I've been to luxurious hotels and have never been interrogated or harassed like that. I didn't tell my boys because I didn't want to ruin their New year. We were there for the view, and that was the last leg of our vacation. The only thing that makes me feel better are the cats that are always in the lobby early in the morning. Those sweet cats made me feel better during our last day at the hotel.

I have a bit of a mixed review, one staff provided repeatedly hostile service, and made me want to leave the morning after check in. He was the evening worker who checked us in. Got there at 9pm so we walked the hill in the dark. It was adequately lit. Our triple room was much larger than expected. Bed was beyond comfortable! The shower was small but had great water pressure. No conditioner - that was tough.
Restaurant was pricey but the food was fabulous.

Beautifully situated, but you can stay at similar places with much less hassle (auto free, train travel, etc.) Thank goodness it stormed the night we were there or we would have roasted alive with no AC. The wait staff in the restaurant were very kind, however, the girls at the reception were very snobby. They seemed annoyed that they needed to do their jobs (answer basic questions/check in/check out). One in particular was downright rude and was definitely not the warm welcome you would expect when paying so much to stay. Love the luggage service from the train station!

This place had the most amazing views of Zurich and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However the area is really inconvenient for those looking to go out after 11pm. The only way to the hotel is by train which drops you off at the bottom of their long driveway which was fine most of the time. However once the trains are done, ubers or any other cars are not able to drive on the road that takes you directly to the train station due to a new imposed fine on unauthorized vehicles (according to our uber driver). The closest an Uber can go towards the hotel leaves you with a 40 minute walk through the pitch black woods on trails essentially, including the inclined driveway up (even near the hotel there is no light up the driveway.) The hotel itself is amazing, yet the accessibility of it really is a downer. Just from a point of view!

This hotel is beautiful. It is away from the city with a short walk from the train station to the hotel. There are beautiful views of the city of Zurich and the lake and mountains. The staff of the hotel were very efficient and accommodating. The only complaint we had was on the Saturday night there was a wedding and the guests were very loud until 2:00 am. The other two nights we were there it was very quiet.

The instructions state the train is available every 15 minutes.....however the last train is 11:15. We arrived at the station at 11:41(in the rain). The young lady (Kamila) working the reception was wonderful. Not only did she tell us how to get to the hotel but because of my age and condition she drove to pick up point and gave us a ride to the property. She was courteous, professional and efficient. Without her help our review would be much lower! I would like to suggest that in your directions you add that the last train available is 11:15 PM.

Our stay at hotel Uto Kulm was amazing. It really made our first trip to Switzerland so special.

The hotel its self is so well situated with amazing views. There is a 10 min walk from the station but it’s a lovely walk.

Very friendly and attentive staff. I had asked prior for a balcony and they sorted that out straight away.

The hotel is seated right at the topmost point of Zurich so beautiful views all around! Since the area in front of it is a tourist attraction, there were a lot of people walking around. It's a bit of a \"hike\" to get there but they offer luggage transportation so that made it much easier! We were given cards to get one free beverage but they could only be used on a glass of wine or champagne (we don't drink so they were of no use to us). There isn't much else around so make sure you grab some snacks and/or food before you go up because the only place to eat is the hotel's very expensive restaurant (40 euros for a burger!!).

The listing for the room I booked was completely misrepresented. Despite numerous reviews saying there was no AC, the details for the room included air conditioning. The reviews are all true. There is no AC, the rooms get hotter than it is outside, and it is very humid there. We opened our windows, thinking we could handle a few bugs coming in, but it was untenable. And during the day the wasps would come in. The traditional down coverlet with no top sheet was simply impossible to use in the summer heat. I don't know why they can't provide something more comfortable for their guests at this time of year. Also, the listing said that the mini bar was free, but the only thing that is free is a single bottle of warm still water and one of sparkling water, which they replace each day. The tap water doesn't taste the best at the hotel, and bottles of water are extremely expensive, so this was appreciated. But everything else in the mini bar had a price list. The hike to hotel is no small feat for anyone who has had a difficult day of travel or may have physical limitations. The view is beautiful of course, but I can't recommend the hotel.

Beautiful location situated on a hill above the city of Zurich. After parking the car we travelled to the hotel on foot through a forest area and then a short train ride before another longer uphill walk to the hotel. I’d imagine that this would be a struggle for older guests. Wonderful views from the room of the stunning countryside around the hotel but disappointed that there was no air con in very warm weather conditions. Although a little pricey the food at the restaurant was superb. My only other observation was that the reception desk team did not come across as very engaging and I didn’t always feel like I was being treated like a guest.

While it is “eco-friendly” we ended up dragging our luggage up a gravel road (uphill, for a kilometer) as we did not know exactly when we will be arriving. They have a service that drops off luggage when leaving. The hotel front desk also did not know which conference room our conference was being being held in, (they had only two listed) and they just shrugged their shoulders, and didn’t care. Luckily a young hotel staff took us from conference room to conference room until we found it. Be prepared to pay dearly for the wine (half of a glass of white wine goes for 16 francs which is about 22 dollars. The meals are also pricey, but this is what happens when you have a view. And unless you want to walk down a kilometer, and take the train (the day we arrived it wasn’t working, so we had to take a bus), then you are probably stuck there.

I was not notified at any point the difficulty in getting to this hotel and when I was told the journey I would have to make up and over a footbridge with luggage and 2 of the 4 of us with knee and hip injuries to then have to walk up a stone pebble hill to take a train then a bus … but as we were unsure we were heading in the right direction it was only then when I called the hotel to find out that the train was not running that day and it no point was I told this before hand… Then I found out I had to come all the way back to the car park to then have to walk to get to buses and then walk further seven minutes to get to the hotel with all of our luggage… They were absolutely not forthcoming with assisting or when we wanted to book elsewhere where it was easier they did not offer any kind of refund whatsoever

Great view from room. Valuable price. 20 minutes direct train from Zurich HB to hotel. However, if u carried a luggage, you have to call hotel when u arrive at train station. Hotel will help to pick up the luggage from train station. Then u walk about 5-7 minutes.
Great view and had fun at top of Zurich.
The only thing need to think about is bug. As mountain area has more bug... If u open your window at night, for sure bugs fly in. If you afraid of bug, try not to open window.

Terrible service ! Both front desk and room cleaning service. You can’t find a front desk people in the morning, nobody answers the call. I put the “ please clean” sign outside the door for whole day, nobody clean. You basically need to carry your luggage up or down the mountain for 1000 yards with no help from the hotel. This is a wonderful spot for one night. I made the mistake of booking our whole week there. It is a beautiful hotel, rooms are exceptional clean. It is at the very top of Zurich with breathtaking views. Now for the downside of my mistake. There is no access for a car. You must take the train out of Zurich main station and the ride is about 20 minutes each way. First train comes at 6:50 am, last train at 11:05 pm. Riding the train was fun for a couple of days, now for the complaint. You must walk up a 1.5 mile gravel path with a 60 degree incline, and down to leave. No matter if it’s raining snowing or muddy. The hotel does offer “very limited” help on getting up or down the hill to the property. No help before 7:15 am and no one would answer the phone at the bottom of the hill for a lift. Needless to say at the end of a fun filled day to get up the hill to your room is challenging. The breakfast is 30 Swiss Francs per person and pretty much consists of cereal, fruit, and pastries. I will recommend for a brief getaway but use my review to understand the logistics of this location.

as you cannot arrive by car, and the parking to get to the train needed to get to the hotel is 15 minutes walk makes it very inconvenien to arrive to the hotel

Too short stay

My stay was too short arriving around 20:30 and leaving next day around 8:00.
I only enjoyed a nice dinner and a room that was very modern clean and comfortable as well as a great breakfast buffe
The Hotel has so much more to offer if you spend more time there

Spectacular views!!

Great hotel with fantastic views!!! Being up on the mountain was spectacular, and an easy train ride into Zurich. Room was spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view. Breakfast is very good - great buffet with lots of choices and very good quality. Definitely recommend for those who prefer the views, tranquility of the mountains and access to hiking trails over beitin the heart of the city.

View of lake Zurich is awesome. Friendly staff is very accommodating. During checkin they upgraded a 4th night reservation of a lesser room to our premium 3 night stay.

Let’s start with parking. It is a challenge to find the hotel. If you are driving you have to find a parking lot no where near the hotel.. walk up hill for 10mins with luggage to a train and then pay for train ticket. When arriving at the hotel stop it is another 15 minute walk all incline. Needless to say I got my work out on this trip.

The hotel has gorgeous views. Staff was very nice. Room was clean. With that being said the hotel does not have air conditioning or fans. It made for a long two nights on a August night. We where put on the third floor… it was very hot. Also we had windows opened and there was no screens so lots of bugs in our room.

I would definitely come to the hotel for dinner and a view or a half day trip: but not for the night

Best place to stay in Zurich.

Beautiful mountaintop location, surrounded by nature, with unbelievable views of mountains, lake and city, and yet you can be in the middle of town in twenty minutes.

What a pity for understimating the client's need

In front of the room windows is the kitchen ventilation... which makes a noice and the smell of fried food is strong...at the same time it was very warm in the room and we had to open the windows to get some air - no ac available ...

Definitely recommend this hotel. 10/10

We loved this hotel so much! It was just myself and my 12 tear old daughter. We used this stay as a rest day on our long trip, and we lounged here. Everything was so nice, and comfortable.
The view wasn’t visible due to the insane days of fog, but we went on a walk down into woods, and it was incredible!

The breakfast was amazing as well. One of the best on our trip.

Only downfall is that they can not give you a ride to the property you have to walk like 15min....But They pick up your Luggage for you:)

This view is beautiful beyond words. Quite a hike up to the property. The trains do not arrive before 6 in the morning so don't plan any early flights home. The service and food was excellent! Say \"hello\" to Charlie, the resident cat, he has quite a story. Just beautiful !!

Plus side, beautiful location, great food friendly staff, very comfortable bed, awesome view, shuttle van to bring luggage from the train. Restaurant by the train station has a great fondue.
Negative side, staff did not believe our breakfast was included. Luckily I had the printout from Expedia to verify this was the case. On check out we were again asked to pay for our stay but it had already been paid when we booked, seemed to be confusion with Expedia bookings, not sure why.
The thing that bothered us was that we were informed on check out that the van would only take our luggage to the train and was not allowed to bring passengers. It was pouring rain and we had gotten a ride up from the train the day before, but no exceptions on checkout so we walked. They did loan us an umbrella but we had to ask for it. It was a 10 minute walk.
A hotel of this caliber should offer the shuttle for guests since no cars are allowed between the train station and the hotel.

Good hotel in a great location...

Pros: comfortable room, really good location, easy access to Zurich Main Station via Uetliberg train, great sunrise and sunset views.
Cons: reception not available 24/7, tiring walk from Uetliberg train to hotel (uphill on mostly gravel track - best to call hotel when checking in so that your luggage can be picked up and carted to the hotel), no USB charging points.
Overall, compared to other Zurich hotels, this is very good value for money (the views alone make this worth it). Will definitely consider going back when visiting Zurich again.

Great unless you want to drive there

I didn’t know the access by car is restricted. Be aware. Other than that, a very nice hotel with a great view. Great if you like quiet and some nature walks.
