The hotel is in a quiet location with free parking. At check in the host gave us a menu for the restaurant on site. He said to pick anything on the menu and he would cook it for us. We are so glad we took him up on his offer as the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was really good too.

Very noisy if anyone use bathroom or talk to other room you can hear it. Online it shows a 700 SF suite but the suite won’t be more than 300 sf. In Secon room only a bed and a small table could fit with no ventilation.
No bed sheets only mattress covers when asked for bedsheets i was told told it would be 10 euro for each bedsheet.

Nice small hotel
This is a small hotel at the top edge of Bad Ragaz. It's quite charming in its way and we had a good week here - skiing. I would be happy to stay again.
We only saw two staff/owners here - both were very welcoming and helpful - anything we asked they were only too happy to help. We asked for a few relatively simple things - an early breakfast on the last day to leave for a flight - this was no problem, and if we could borrow a Swiss power adaptor - again no problem.
Wifi - an essential in a modern hotel - was fast, easy to connect, and gave no problems all week. They have a different network on each floor (same password) and it was very efficient.
Breakfast - there was a good variety and it was well laid out. One chap kept it in very good order and I'm sure that he would be happy to do other things if asked.
A nice touch was that they had tea/coffee etc. on in the afternoon as well, which made it pleasant to sit downstairs after the day's skiing catching up on work emails.
Parking - there are some allocated spaces a short way further up the street. However - there aren't that many, and one night we found they were all full. That night I had to find a space in town. I asked the guy on reception the following day and he said there was a private space opposite I could have used - parking spaces in Switzerland are very tightly controlled. This is something to ask about on arrival.
I've said a little more on Trip Advisor.

A little Swiss getaway
Really enjoyed our 1 night stay here with my wife. The younger receptionist seemed a bit perturbed when we arrived, but then was just fine and friendly the next day. The room was clean, enjoyed the shower, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic. A great stay for the price. Just watch out, for 2 people in the vicinity, you won't find dinner for less than 100 euros.

This is an Expedia VIP property… but I’m not sure how. I woke up with bites on my legs. My legs are now swollen.
The temperature in our room was very high and we couldn’t control it.
The bathroom was very basic. When we sat on the toilet, the seat would close on you so it rested on your back whilst on the toilet.
Breakfast was the worst. We arrived just before 9 and it was just leftovers. After much persuasion they managed to microwave a couple more sausages so we could eat something. I knew it was microwaved because of the pinging when it was cooked. We had a small cockroach walking along the table when we were eating. It was at that point we left breakfast and ate elsewhere.
This place was just too dirty to operate as a hotel.

The hotel is lovely, tho a little tired, and well situated. Comfortable beds,& very quiet. My only gripe is that the amenities listed aren’t actually part of the hotel, but are amenities within the town,& therefore require extra cost. So.. there is no indoor/ outdoor pool. This is located at the thermal bath (highly recommend btw), & the tennis courts are a 15 min walk away,& cost 26chf/hr to use. Which is not bad value for Switzerland!

We were not allowed to check in at 10:15 pm, even though we messaged them that we are driving into the town. There was a gentleman from hotel just working/ cleaning away and completely ignored us and didn’t even open the hotel door.

Wonderful place.... Excellent persons Mr ESOS and his assistent Brandli....Instead of one day we staid two because We felt at Home... Esos's wife was an excellent Lady and Her daugter is not only a Tennis champion but also a Champion as a young lady - she has shown lots of common sense during our convesations... If I'm able I'll return to the place any time I can.

Nice little hotel in a beautiful area. Located right next to a great little hike. View from my room was not especially interesting. Water pressure in shower was terrible. Staff was friendly. The Hotel is relative small, but the suite is clean, comfortable and the people are very nice. The breakfast is good. We had a early train at 7 AM and the breakfast will open from 7 to 9:30AM. When the Hotel receptor (I believe he is the Hotel owner) knew we have a early train, he specially open the breakfast for us at 6:00AM. We really appreciate it. We will certainly stay the Hotel if we will visit this area again.

Excellent City Hotel Getaway
Our stay at ESOS was wonderful. The hotel service surpassed my expectation. This family run hotel is family friendly and the staff made every effort to help and accommodate the needs of our family of four. We travel a lot and stay at hotels a lot, and having a pleasant and family friendly hotel is important for me when choosing a hotel to stay in. What a warm and friendly hotel
We were so happy that the staff changed the triple room for us to cook because there was no kitchen in the standard double room. Cooking was very important to us since we could not get used to the European food. The triple room was very large and there was dining room, too. The staff were very friendly and nice. It was really warm to stay there. Most of the hotels are far far away from the train station, you need to walk around 10 min to the hotel from the train station. However, you will find it is so comfortable and peaceful to walk through the path.

Essos Hotel Quelle was located in city center. The location in the Heidiland region offers spectacular views of mountains. It was a spacious room, with excellent service including laundry. Additionally, they included a buffet breakfast. The staff was very friendly. Check-in time at Hotel Essos was a bit late (5:00 pm), but they were able to provide us with friendly service.

Fantastic hotel with only minor complaints
Let me start by saying the hotel was fantastic. Clean, great location, nicely sized rooms, and a friendly staff that spoke English well. We really enjoyed our stay and even extended it an extra night. The hotel was a nice size which is good for a guy over 6 feet tall looking at hotels in Europe. It's located right off the town square near a bunch of shops and restaurants. My only complaints are that the restaurant inside the hotel itself was rather boring. Not bad but just bland. Nothing special. Secondly the Wi-Fi is a joke. We were only on the second floor with rooms on it and could only get a connection in certain parts of our room. Overall a great hotel in a great town with a lovely staff. Will be staying here again.

Beim Check in war die Reseption nicht besetzt und erst bei mehrmaligen klingeln wurde jemand auf uns Aufmerksam. Jedoch wurde uns die Tourismusabgabe 3x verrechnet, obschon Kinder bis 16 davon ausgenommen sind (wurde korrekt auf der Reservierung angegeben). Rückmeldung der Rezeption, das ist nun so und wird nicht rückerstattet.

Da scheinbar alle Zimmer belegt waren, musste ich in Zimmer 11 (unterm Dach mit schräge) übernachten. Zimmer war sehr alt, Waschbecken im Zimmer und Toilette, Bad separat, aber auch schon in die Jahre gekommen. Keine Klimaanlage und sehr warm.

Gutes 3-Sterne-Hotel in einem älteren, aber renovierten Gebäude an einer ruhigen Seitenstrasse, ein paar Gehminuten von Bushaltestellen und Läden. Wir hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer mit bequemen Betten; trotz Lage zur Strasse nachts ruhig; das Bad (mit Dusche) war sehr klein.
Das Frühstück bot eine grosse Auswahl - von verschiedenen Brotsorten und Konfitüre über Käse, Aufschnitt, Joghurt, gebratenen Würsten und Eiern bis zu frischem Obst und Gemüse; für ausreichend Nachschub wurde laufend gesorgt.
Das Restaurant war leider (noch) geschlossen; ein Hinweis auf der Homepage oder am Restaurant selbst wäre hilfreich gewesen.
Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt - gerne wieder.

Sjarmerende lite hotell i en rolig sidegate i Bad Ragaz. Rommene er av eldre dato, men det er rent og det er gode senger. Uteområdet er koselig, perfekt å sitte med en kopp kaffe og nyte utsikten. Frokosten hadde godt utvalg av frisk frukt, grønnsaker og hva du måtte ønske. Hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake en annen gang, og anbefaler hotellet videre til andre. Extreemely high priced compared to 2.5 star actual quality! Gives the impression of being some kind of luxuory hotel, but is not. The recepcion is a boot, and not manned after certain hours. Small and poor room and bathroom compared to any 50-60 euro hotel anywhere else! I want my money back!!!

Stayed again for one night and i had a good sleep in a clean spacey room. Friendly staff and as always a good breakfast. Easy check out and free parking spots right next door. I recommend this hotel. Also a good pizzeria nearby. See you next year
