Overall we enjoyed our stay at Mercure City West as we had a mountain view which was nice but we were also overlooking roads - a motorway and another road leading out of town.
The staff on Reception were a bit hit and miss - when we checked in the receptionist did not offer us a chance to 'spin wheel' to win something as she had with the people in front of us. Also we did not get our passes allowing free travel on buses due to an error with e mail address (?!) Housekeeping also bit mean allocated with replacing tea bag but were good with keeping toilet rolls well stocked which is more important.

The receptionist was amazing! She was super kind to my child, warm and friendly. Her English was impeccable which made everything seamless. The room was beautifully presented and the views from this corner room were fabulous. There was a free bus pass with the hotel, a bus stop literally outside with frequent timings and took ten minutes into town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff are courteous and professional and the hotel is clean and light with spacious rooms.

Great hotel exactly as described. Taxi to central station €15 convenient. Alternatively train to Chur West, free if using an interrail ticket. Bus service to town looked convenient & free with hotel coupon. You are staying in a hotel attached to a shopping centre with very limited catering facilities at the weekend. There is a super coop & the hotel has a microwave available which is great with ready meals.

Newish Mercure hotel. Our room was on the 9th floor with big windows on both sides with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel is within walking distance of the cable car to the top of the mountain. Breakfast options are limited.

The Mercury is a fantastic quiet hotel with views of the alps. The room was exceptional and large with big picture windows. Very comfortable bed. Reception were very friendly and helpful with a variety of places to eat nearby. The only downside was that the hotel is a little distance from the railway station but a regular bus service drops you to the door, so no real issues. Loved it and would stay again. Huge inflatable Lindt bunny on the roof of the shopping centre

We booked 2 rooms at the Mercure City west in Chur, in one of the rooms the comforter had blood stains, this was very unpleasant, the rooms were large and comfortable but not clean, the pillows were not comfortable and the breakfast was very bad, the front desk was not friendly and unapologetic when we told them about the blood stains on the comforter.The people in this city is very rude.

Excellent quality accommodation for our short stay in Chur. Even though not in the old town, we could have used the complementary bus pass to travel in if we had had more time. Views from 9th floor rooms amazing.

I’m not sure how this hotel got a 4 star rating. This makes me thankful we didn’t opt for 2 or 3. Wonder how bad those would have been? The staff is stellar and friendly. The hotel itself is subpar. Pictures show room in disrepair and they were painting in the gym and hallways. They should have really closed this floor because of all of the remodeling going on. Pictures on website are certainly a stretch for what you’re actually getting. Breakfast was good enough but in hindsight we would have just gone to Burger King and saved a bunch of $. Little control of the room air and considering we were in the Swiss Alps, we were sweating all night. Not good at all!

At breakfast, eggs we thought were hard-boiled were actually runny. Besides that, everything in the hotel was great including the comfort, cleanliness, view.
One word of advice, if you arrive late into Chur, McDonald’s and Burger King are the only two eating options. Also 10 minutes before you finish breakfast, Go ahead and ask the front desk to call a cab for you to the train station. It will take about that long for the cab to get to the hotel.
This was our stop over to catch the Bernina express the next day which departs at 8:30 AM, so if you are planning a similar route keep that in mind.
If I wanted to experience more of the mountains in Switzerland, I could see myself coming back to Chur

The hotel room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The room has a safe, refrigerator and Nespresso coffee maker. We had a great view from our room. The ground floor is a small shopping mall with an excellent grocery store. The bus to/from the train station stops right in front of the hotel (since we were there for almost a week, we got an electronic bus pass, which was very handy). The only negative to this hotel is that it's in a primarily industrial area, so other than the mall, there aren't restaurants or shops in the immediate area (unless you include the McDonalds a couple of blocks away).

Great, modern and updated hotel. The walk from the main railway station felt like a bit of a trek. The reception gave us a taxi voucher for the ride back to the station so that cost about 10Euro. The wifi on the 6th floor was pretty bad but was fine on the 2nd at breakfast. The breakfast was great, with plenty of options. The walk back into Old Chur was about 1.5km so without packs it was easy. The hotel is in a shopping mall with a large Coop supermarket so we bought takeaway salads and ate in!

We spotted the hotel from miles away as it was one of the two tallest towers in the area. It is right next to a large shopping mall. It is one main road straight into the old town. We had a spacious corner suite with large windows of mountain view. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Free parking at the hotel was definitely a bonus as in some hotels in other cities, 24 hours parking at hotel parking lot usually cost 25 to 28 Euro. This hotel is good for both leisure or business trips.

This was a very cool modern hotel with many amenities and great views. It's a perfect place to stay if you have a car, as parking is free and easy. Less convenient to the central area of Chur, but perfect for exploring the Graubunden area.

Nice property, easy ride from train station with the #6 bus stopping out front. Staff it hotel was great, night staff in restaurant as well. Our breakfast person was a bit...lazy the first three mornings. But the whole center - the whole neighborhood - shuts down at 8:00 and the #6's last run is about 8:30. You are stuck if you don't have a rental. We'll probably go back to the old city next time but swing by the restaurant to say \"hi\" to Mara.
