The hotel was fine for what we needed - a good location for a stopover in Chur for the scenic train journeys. The room was basic, a bit dated and we missed not having a kettle or fridge facilities. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite basic for the price.

Laundry took forever and it is not included in the price. There is no air conditioning, and it is extremely hot during the summer and all they give you is a fan that just moves the hot air around. It was to the point where we had to think about going to another hotel in the middle of the night. This place is mediocre with high prices and is basically a hostel

The hotel is close to the station, staff were very friendly and geld our luggage when we arrived an hour early for check in. We booked a triple superior room and was given a 2 bedroom, with a double and 2 singles put together, mini apartment with a kitchenette, coffee machine etc and was lovely and spacious. Nice breakfast too included, was a little pricey for 1 night, but a lovely nights sleep

Stayed here just for one night after arriving in Chur on the Bernina Express and before departing for the rest of our vacation.
It’s a very simple hotel, but superbly clean, very friendly staff, a fresh breakfast and right in the center of the old town of Chur. There are even thoughtful additions such as outlet converters in rooms so everyone can use their electronics. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I happened to be in Chur again.

Front desk staff were extremely courteous, provided us with a map and some ideas for shopping and dining nearby (though prepare yourself for the price of dining out in Switzerland generally). During my family’s 2 week European trip, Central Hotel Post had the most comfy beds of our entire vacation, and the strongest water pressure of any shower I have ever seen (always a pleasant surprise, in my book). Our 3 rooms were spacious and very clean, we had windows that opened up to the square below, and some of the beautiful mountains surrounding, and there was an elevator/lift; we rented a car and there seemed to be no on-site parking for the hotel but we found a parking garage close by that was free on Sundays (hotel staff also gave us other options). Chur is a bit of a sleepy town so very quiet and walkable. We had a short stay and breakfast was pretty good for that period, not overwhelming variety but enjoyable nonetheless. We stayed here for an overnight before catching the Bernina Express the next morning and it is a very short distance to the train station (and the Europcar rent-a-car next door).

I’d be happy to recommend this hotel to family and friends who hope to do something similar in future.

There is no parking

This hotel does not have parking. They give you a permit to park overnight in the street if you can find a spot. Otherwise your need to pay 18 CHF to park in a not convenient garage. Highly non recommended if you are coming by car

Central Post is a basic hotel, not much amenities but staff are nice and location is close to the train station. The bathroom has a foul smell that I don’t even want to write, shower curtain is filthy. My daughter didn’t even want to use the bathroom.

We walked around the village and it was what I thought, simple and beautiful. We found a
great restaurant named Ruean Thai Restaurant! Food is authentic delicious Thai food! I can rate them more than 5stars! The lady who served our food is just so nice as well as the owner and the cook who all managed to come out and ask how did they do! Great people and service.

Great place to stay in Chur Switzerland

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Post in Chur Switzerland. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the train station on a level street, with some really nice shops along the way and a variety of restaurants nearby. The accommodations were modern and very clean. Breakfast in the hotel was very nice with quite a variety to choose from. I would certainly recommend the Hotel Post and would stay there again.

Great location in city center. Comfortable bed. Our only disappointment was the photos show a kitchenette, but we were not permitted to use it. We were hopeful to be able to save some money by preparing some food in our room. That is why we paid more for the superior double room.

The property was a 5 for a 3 star hotel. A 7 min walk from the train station. Located in Old Town with shop, restaurants within minutes. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast in the morning was good. Staff was excellent.

Lovely stay in Chur

This hotel was lovely. The rooms were large, clean and tidy. The hotel was only 10 minutes walk from the station which was what we needed. Chur is a lovely place especially the old town. We spent 2 nights and travelled all over Chur with the free guest card.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable hotel within an easy walk from train station with lots of restaurants and shops surrounding. Friendly, helpful staff and a nice breakfast was included in our booking. Our superior room had an oven and cooktop, but these are not allowed to be used. Fridge was Handy.

A night in Chur

What are the things most people ask …. The room was comfortable - had a desk and desk chair - has a safe - hair dryer and towel warmer - note NO AC - but we were fortunate the weather wasn’t terribly hot - we opened the windows. With the exception of traveling suitcases on the pavement outdoors it was fairly quiet after 11:00. The breakfast buffet is a traditional Swiss buffet of slices meats, cheeses, boiled eggs and lots of breads croissants etc. plenty of coffee and juices. I should add they also provide a converter at the desk which is nice - they have a kitchen with a refrigerator but there is a sign that use of the stove or oven is not permitted by law…..

We stayed for 2 nights before boarding the Bernina express to Tirano. The hotel is a convenient location and easy walking distance to the railway station. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast and reception staff was very helpful and friendly. We would stay again if in Chur.

Location was perfect, value for money considering other hotel prices in the area.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, i arrived on a sunday (most of Chur is closed on Sunday), the lovely staff gave me suggestions for cafes and restaurants which would be open for dinner. Also suggestions on the most important sights to see in the afternoon!

Cute, clean hotel that was a great place to stay as a jumping off point after taking the bernina express and taking the glacier express the next day. The people were nice, the hotel was clearn and exactly what was needed. Bed was comfortable. Lovely town which was easily walkable. The breakfast was also fabulous.

Hotel is about a 2 minute walk from the train station, and sits in the heart of old town Chur. That has lots of upsides, but also means lots of activity right outside your window into the evenings. We were there during the Christmas market, which was fantastic and brought lots of punch drinking and people hanging out having a good time. Hotel room was very neat and clean, pretty spacious bathroom for Europe, and a free breakfast buffet. Also get free bus passes with your stay there. Overall highly recommend!

Would Not Stay Again

Sharing a bathroom is not my idea of a hotel. Hotel is old but was clean. We had dinner late and I did not feel well after but unfortunately had to use a bathroom that was outside my room. I did not feel safe doung that. Did not realize there was such a thing in 2023.

Hotel Post is a fairly old facility and it has been kept in good condition. There is no air-condition and the ensuite kitchen cannot be used for cooking due to new regulations. You get free breakfast included in booking so no cooking is really needed. There are several choices of good restaurants in walking distance, except for Sunday most places are closed. In term of size and comfort, I think it is reasonable for this price range. For a day or two to explore Chur oldtown or taking the two scenic trains, this hotel can be a good choice for your stay.
