High hidden fees and mediocre service at reception
I find it hard to call this a 5-star hotel. It feels old, the furniture is heavy and outdated, one of two elevators wasn't working throughout our stay (causing long waits for the other elevator), and most importantly - service is far from being at a 5-star level. The guy who checked us in was very grumpy and unfriendly, and on another night - the lady at the reception kept us waiting for over 5 minutes while having a casual chitchat with a friend. (there were, however, very nice receptionists at other times).
It's important to be aware of the high hidden fees at this hotel. It advertises competitive prices, but only when you check in, you realize that they charge 80 zloty (20$) as a daily parking fee, while most other parking lots in the city charge only 20-30 zloty per day. With such an extra 15-20% to the room price, their prices are not that competitive any more...

Welcoming staff and lovely large room. However not many places to really sit in the lobby that were cosy and not at a breakfast table. The pillows were very very uncomfortable and the room was extremely hot. We had both windows open all night in December even though heating was off room still stayed at 25 degree Celsius.

Not what we thought but better
Zakopane is a huge tourist area now and hotels are tucked into every corner. Hotel Rysy is an amazing art deco decorated hotel on a very tiny side street. But easy walking to the main action. Pricy but tasty breakfast. Great room. Parking is a challenge and on-site parking was approximately $20 US per day. Enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was great. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. All facilities were in excellent condition and bery clean. Location is great. I missed the information that praking was not free but that is an obersight on my part (parking everywhere in Zakopane is hard).

A good location, only a short walk to the centre of town. I arrived on a motorcycle and asked where I could park it as cars were taking all spaces, I was informed i could park in the small underground garage. Next morning was charged 40 zlote. Also they wanted 80 zlote,, £16 approx for breakfast which I declined.

Great hotel located in heart of Zakopane but far enough so it’s quiet. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast that is included was awesome. Fresh made eggs any way you like, bacon and lots of other items. Room only had 1 pillow but just asked and got another. Would highly recommend

Cannot be advertised as a five star hotel. Maybe a good three star. Well located. Clean and staff pleasant. Rooms big but standard of beds, mattresses and bedding not up to scratch. Breakfast ok but not near a five star standard. Hotels.com need to work on verifying their grading requirements for hotels on their site.

Undeserved 5 star rating
The hotel is clean, quiet and conveniently located for restaurants etc. The staff are pleasant and the breakfasts very good. However, our room looked like it needed up-dating, the timberwork on the balcony hadn't seen a coat of varnish for quite some time, the bed was less than comfortable (we ended up borrowing an extra duvet to put on top of the mattress). We also had to point out a large crack in our sink (which they were unable to replace until after we had left). All of this I would have shrugged off in a budget hotel but not in a hotel claiming to be five star and which had come at a five star price.

I stayed here for 3 nights, it is a beautiful, clean and modern hotel. The staff are attentive and very kind, they offered good advice and tips. The Buffet breakfast is also very good (I recommend the scrambled eggs!).

Hotel Rysy is a great small hotel. The staff is wonderful and professional; they are happy to help you with whatever you need. As far as the location, you get the best of both worlds... very close to Krupowki (the heart of the city) but not too close to hear the somewhat happy tourists making their way back to their places after a busy night. The rooms are updated and very clean. Highly recommended!

Four nights in Zakopane
The staff, reception, restaurant and housekeeping are above expectation. The food was Excellent. The suite 305 was very clean and spacious with very nice balcony and views. The location is very good with supermarket 2 minutes away and Zakopane pedestrian street is 4 minutes away. Overall, an excellent experience.

Great hotel in the mountains
I stayed with my sister at the hotel in June when we were visiting Zakopane. It is located in the heart of the attractions and if you do not have a car it is the best place to stay. It is a walking distance to Krupowki (the most popular street in Zakopane), restaurants, Goralskie Sukiennice (many stores with souvenirs) and the train station where you can catch a train to the top of the mountains called Gubalowka. If you are planning to explore more, you can catch a mini bus which will take you to the lake called Morskie Oko where you can hike, be connected with the nature and see amazing views of the mountains. Reserve a whole day if you are planning to explore the lake because it will take almost 3 hours (one way) to walk to Morskie Oko, then you can walk around the lake and also hike to another lake called Czarny Staw (it can take 4- 5 hours). Also if you have another day to explore you can hike in other areas or take a day trip to another country called Slowacja. Overall our short trip was excellent. The staff was extra helpful, friendly and assisted with any needs. The room was big and very comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view of the Giewont mountains.

Beautiful small Hotel in Zakopane
The hotel Rysy rated with 5 * I would call boutique hotel with only 60 big and lovely decorated rooms. Very close to main attractions and streets but away from noise. The inside made of marble and glass with real fire place with real fire burning every day. I was there over Easter Holiday and the breakfast was an elegant feast with local and traditional dishes. At the top of the hotel is a leisure room with sauna and jacuzzi tub. I was relaxing in the tub with two other guests discussing l\"life in general\" while looking through the sunroof enjoying view of the mountains.

The hotel is not quite as it is show on line. Will never stay again. When we asked for an extra pillow we were informed that there would be an additional $25 dollar charge for additional amenities including extra towels. In addition, the mattress was so thin that you were right on top of the bed springs. Really

We were happy with the breakfast but even more happy when the waitress said we could get eggs cooked anyway we wanted. They were delicious. The reception and staff were excellent. The room was beautiful and clean. The shower was amazing with the rainforest shower head. I would go back there in a minute. Close to Krupowkie street where we had a wonderful dinner at an old Polish restaurant. Perfect stay.

We stayed in the hotel for couple of days. The hotel welcomed us with well furnished and spacious room and breath taking view from the balcony. Spa area overlooking the Tatry mountains is definitely unforgettable experience. Rich breakfast with super service provided good start of the day. The hotel staff very happy to attend any request we come up with. We can only recommend it and are already looking forward to come back.

This hotel is situated in a quiet road, just of the pedestrian main street. A top quality retro style delight interior, with a en-suite shower that has impressed a hardend old English Developer! Walking distance to the heart of town and attractions. Fabulous hotel lobby and unbelievable delicious hotel breakfast! Rooms were clean and comfortable. A quiet location. And the privacy of the jacuzzi and sauna experience were fantastic.

3 star masquerading as a 5 star
The room had nice decor but was small and didn't live up to 5 stars. The staff although friendly, seemed poorly trained and weren't very helpful. Also, no one spoke English well, which was surprising. Price was high and even the facilities required a reservation. Be wary ! The only plus was locale. Oh, and no pool.

The hotel is very nice; we unfortunately had a couple of maintenance issues that were quickly resolved. The room safe did not lock; they fixed it in a few hours upon notification. Also, the shower did not drain properly. They also fixed it quickly. The sauna and hot tub are very nice, with great mountain views. The staff are very helpful and polite. The breakfast was great; buffet and made to order food! Overall a fantastic hotel with great staff!

Very nice hotel, close to Krupowki. The staff was very friendly and let us check in early. The room had a balcony with a nice view of the mountains. They will do your laundry for an extra fee. Also, they have a sauna and whirlpool but you have to let them know an hour in advance if you want to use it so that they can turn it on. I called them towards the end of our hike and it was a nice way to relax after we returned.

Es war ein wunderschönes Hotel in einer tollen Umgebung, super gelegen zu allen Restaurants, Lokalen, Geschäften und Sehenswürdigkeiten sowie zum Gebirge! Leider wurde unser Zimmer nicht ordentlich gereinigt, für die Aufzug-Ausfälle wurden wir nicht entschädigt (unser Zimmer war im 4. Stock), die Parkgebühren waren horrend mit 80 Zloty pro Nacht und dass man ab 18 Uhr nur für 100 Zloty für je eine Stunde in den Spa-Bereich durfte, war auch ärgerlich (sonst war gratis und super!). Unterm Strich waren wir ganz zufrieden, aber das Hotel nahm leider etwas mehr, als es gab.
