This is a very nice hotel in a very quiet area. Very easy walking or bike riding. The restaurant is very good, breakfast was perfect. Many options. Most of the guests are here either before or after a cruise. If you are looking for night life, this is not the place. Really nothing around except a few mini marts with restaurant attached.

The hotel is in close proximity to the port where the cruise docking station is. It is also very affordable and the rooms are so spacious! To top it off, the hotel offers a shuttle service to the port so you don’t need to worry about walking with your luggage to your cruise after!

The staff and manager at this hotel are beyond expectations, very friendly, so helpful and kind. The pool is absolutely amazing. It’s a five minute free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes. The pool must be at least 40 m or more long. It’s huge and it’s beautiful set right on the side of the beach. I highly recommend this hotel.

Luxury hotel for budget price

This hotel is very luxurious for the price. The rooms are very big and the bed is large and incredibly comfy. Really great facilities in the room including filtered water. Pool and beach were so peaceful and relaxing. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here and it felt very festive. The food in the restaurant is amazing, I really recommend the club sandwich. The drinks are delicious and a really good price, especially and happy hour. Also visited the spa which was incredibly relaxing.

Property location didn't match advertisement. We even though we have arrived at wrong hotel. Private beach was very dirty, like it's never been cleaned. Public beach was cleaner. Property paid for our airport transportation as a compensation and I can see that they have updated location in advertisement, so they are fixing things. Also it seems like area around hotel has been underfunded and in decline for a while, perhaps because of covid efffect.

What an amazing hotel. Absolutely fabulous. The staff is so professional, smiling, polite and nice. Always ready to greet and help you with anything you need.

Breakfast is amazing. Delicious, plenty of options and everything you can possibly desire for a hearty breakfast.

The hotel is quiet and in a quiet location, has some restaurants around and also has a good restaurants inside which serves delicious food and drinks at happy hour.

Everything was fabulous and amazing. Close to the ferry terminal and the hotel will help you organise your trip.

This was by far one of the best hotels I have stayed even in comparison to Europe it was top class.

Don’t hesitate to stay here and experience the amazing hospitality.

Beautiful hotel - new. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Convenient location for tours and Cat Ba ferry. Not many restaurants or stores on Tuan Chau island. The resort photo on hotels.com website is for phases under development. Current facilities are just hotel, restaurant and a shop, though still all quite nice. 20 min/$10+/- cab ride to Halong City proper.

Stay there for 1 night before the cruise to Halong Bay, located at Tuan Chau Island, slightly far from the city center, very quite place in the evening, nothing much to eat unless you take a taxi to the city center where there are many seafood restaurants at reasonable price. The room is clean, the bed is big and comfortable, and the breakfast is great. If you are a EPL fans, their in room TV do board cast EPL live matches.

The buildings are quite new. We were put in the Paradise Comfort Suites because we came early. We were not planning on checking in yet as we have a tour and could have left our luggage in storage until check in time. We were informed that we have been upgraded to a bigger room but is much too plain compared to the room on the photos. We were not happy and felt outcasted in the building they out us in as it seems we were the only ones staying there. The entrance was dark and nobody in the lobby. It was quite eerie.

The atmosphere and look is very artificial and cold. Not what we expected when staying at Halong Bay. Breakfast is sub-par compared to other hotel breakfasts we had. The food attendants have poor hygiene as they kept wiping their noses and sneezing around the food. Rare to see staff openly dirty around food. Should've stayed 1 night or taken a day trip to Halong from Hanoi.

False misrepresentation on Hotels.com as with the location of the pool...over 3km away from the hotel..Hotel denied/argued this factor.. Noisy continuous thoroughfare of buses/traffic to Marina right next to the pool.
Disjointed hotel arranged over 4 different buildings.a very odd setup only normally accustomed to a resort. OK hotel if you like staying within an assortment of diffrrent building sites.

The location sucks, there nothing to do around there. You can honestly just stay there for a day or two and finish exploring Ha long. Also the staff didn’t even assist us with looking for places to visit, had to do it on our own. Also they kept my Passport which was weird considering all other hotels I’ve stayed at just made a copy and that was the end of it. The hotel wasn’t as advertised and the location is still under construction. The hotel breakfast was good though and the bathroom was beautiful. Wish there was more to do.

Our overall stay at Paradise was okay. We booked the transfer from Hanoi city with the hotel which was late for over an hour. We expected more since it was quite pricey compared to other transfer services. When we arrived the receptionist was apologetic so we didn't think much of it. The room was clean, nice and spacious. But the noise level from the outside was horrible. You can hear pretty much everything. There were some stains on one of the robes in the room and the hotel slippers were used (not new). We didnt use them. On our second day there, it was raining hard at night (around 9pm) and water started to leak from the ceiling right on top of our bed. We called the receptionist and she told us someone's going to come to check on it. No one ever showed up. We ended up pushing our bed to the middle of our room to avoid the water dripping. The next morning we mentioned it again to the receptionist and she apologized and she said there's nothing they can do except moving us to a different room. But since they were \"full\" they can only downgrade us. We decide to stay in our room. Luckily for us, the rest of the trip was sunny. The breakfast was pretty good. This area is still developing a lot. Almost nothing to do in the area except for HaLong Cruise, which can be done in a day trip and maybe SunWorld, which was pretty nice.

We decided to stay at this hotel for one night prior to our boat cruise in Ha long Bay. The hotel itself is situated on the port island where the ferry terminal is and where most cruises begin, so it is convenient location for those with a cruise booked. However, for restaurants/cafe and shops within the main area, it is about 15 minutes car journey away.

The room itself is very simple but clean. There’s nothing wrong with it or great about it. The highlight for us is the breakfast, which offers a menu selection of 3 different breakfast sets. My vegan friend was also offered to dine at a separate buffet with more selection.

The hotel kindly arranged transfer from Hanoi airport on our date of arrival and sent a luxury private limousine van for the 2.5 hour journey, however, it costs a large sum of $105 USD for this. This is fairly expensive compared to other transfers available and we wanted to opt for a cheaper normal car from the hotel but they insisted on a policy that any party with more than 2 people will not be allowed to book a normal four seater, so we ended up with a 7 seater with 3 empty seats. It is quite unnecessary. The hotel also requires upfront payment via an email link prior to confirmation; it is not possible for those who wish to pay on arrival.

Its great value for money. Its a quiet location snd while the beach and ancient town are not in walking distance the hotel offer a free shuttle bus service for both drop off and pick up. The rooms are large and clean, and even included a computer. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel give comprehensive information on a map about recommended sites to visit, restaurants and atms. There's also a gym and outdoor pool. The buffet breakfast was varied, with both continental and vietnamese food.
In short, its a great place to stay, in a quiet location away from the hustle and busle, and its great value for money.

Fabulous hotel, lousy location

Hotel was fabulous. Huge room, huge bed, lovely bathroom. All you can eat buffet breakfast... and so much choice.
Staff were always at hand, and very attentive. They even provided a free delicious birthday cake for my partners birthday.
Now the down side.
The surrounding area is a building site. The whole island/area is in the midst of development and everywhere you go you are in a building site. Main beaches closed because of this. Very little choice of places to eat in the evening. And no pubs/bars.
Perfect for the ferry terminal... only a 5 minute walk. If you’re going on a Halong Cruise, or a trip to Cat Ba, then hotel is ideal. Halong town area is 12 kilometres away - taxi’s vary from d138000 to d218000. Despite them all being metered. However I wouldn’t recommend going into the Halong area - although the rainbow bridge and the cable car to the big wheel is well worth it.
To sum up..... lovely hotel, can’t fault it, but the surrounding area is a complete let down. Stay here if you’re going to be spending your days cruising, or visiting other islands. Great base for that.
I’m sure the whole area will be stunning when all the building works are completed in about 5 years time.

Nice, clean, and new area. That said, you are far away from the action... for now. In a few years, I see this place being a very popular attraction with many forms of entertainment. However, as of this review, the immediate surrounding area is slower paced than the rest of Vietnam. If you want great places to eat, a $7-$10 10 min taxi to the ha long city center is required. Breakfast is provided and was one of the better breakfast buffets I’ve had, even compared to USA standards.

The spa was really nice, clean, and professional. The reception takes care of booking massages, taxi, and recommendations. They are friendly and able to exchange American dollars for some of the best rates I’ve received.

On an ending note, as it is still in my definition of a soft opening, you will have to keep an open mind to their shortcomings. Overall great value and definitely worth it.

Very nice and well organized establishment. The staff are nice and the facility is modern. Offers many amenities to make your stay comfortable. They offer both western and asian food. My only mild complaint, in their brochure they had a short bicycle tour. Doesnt seem like they offer it anymore. They do however provide you with a bicycle for use to do your own thing which is much appreciated. I’ll glady stay here again.

Not as advertised!

I would strongly discourage anyone from booking a stay at this hotel. The hotel is not as advertised and was so disappointing we departed 2 days early and booked up at a different hotel.

One of the huge issues is that Expedia’s website describes the amenities at the hotel as including an outdoor pool. When the pool is actually over 2km away surrounded by on going construction.

The pictures on Expedia’s website give the impression you will be staying in a resort style premises, you see a lovely picture of the pool with white buildings in the background. This is very misleading as where you end up staying is basically a built up area of the island.

Only good thing to say is the room was clean and nice, as even the restaurants were disappointing, breakfast was terrible and the service at the evening restaurant was also terrible with multiple tables waiting over 40 minutes for service and several options from the menu being unavailable.

Expedia have been contacted about the inaccuracies on their site regarding the pool and are not going to make any changes, hopefully people read this review and do not fall into the same trap.

My hubby and I spent a couple of days here. The place is lovely, but the staff weren't as friendly as other places we had stayed all over Vietnam. I feel they are still learning as we often got ignored on entering or leaving the lobby when nobody else was there to keep them busy. We had been excited but ended up a bit flat feeling. We needed a taxi to get to town and markets etc as they are about 25 minutes drive away. We didn't know this when booking. I also realised on leaving that our room was a smaller room than the one I had actually booked and paid for.

Paradise Suites is a good comfortable hotel. The room was lovely. The breakfast was average, and unfortunately there's not much to do around the hotel as development of infrastructure is clearly a work in progress. I was woken at 6am by building works a couple of metres outside my window.

There is nothing else here, not even a pool
The pool is 1 mile away apparent near a beach but you can't swim in the water.
the 2 - 3 restaurants around belong to the hotel so you really are stuck for choice.

Rather good if you are in transit for a Halong bay trip. Rooms nice and big. Lights in the rooms could be better if putting in slightly more powerful lights - looks cozy but hard to read.
Be aware this is a hotel but many Chinese tours so rather busy especially breakfast can be a special experience. The manager Ms Mo is extremely kind and very helpful in ensuring your stay in as nice a possible. Our private tour guide Dodo did a great job and was very flexible - can warmly recommend him.

The place itself is exceptional: from room condition to breakfast food selection. Rooms are very comfortable with everything that you need for your stay. The hotel's pool is located not insde hotel but pretty far, you can get there by hotel transfer but still it is not very convenient. The private beach condition is very abandoned, i hope in high season it looks better. Overall the whole island is developing now, there's a lot of construction sites so i believe the location has great potential and infrastructure gets better.

The hotel was lovely, service was excellent. It was great to get off the boat and be at our accommodation within a five minute taxi ride. There isn't much to see or do on the island itself and the hotel pool is 1.6kms away. They provide a courtesy bus, or you can ride a bike. Overall, it's great for a lazy day.

Whist the hotel appears new and clean, the local area is completely dead with not much to do at all. We were completely disappointed at staying here after a wonderful 1 night cruise.

The swimming pool is misleading as it is 2km away from the hotel and not accessible by walking. The pool its self is not attended to, the lounges have no cushions and the security guard had his music blaring when we were there.

While the breakfast was alright we ate once in the restaurant with Much being left to be desired.

The service and front house staff were probably the worst of all. They weren't very welcoming in relation to all our other Vietnam stops, told us we couldn't check in for 3 hours (fair enough we were early )!but seemed to only suggest we sit in the restaurant. No suggests of advice on options were presented. When we returned 3 hours later our bags were still in reception. We were advised that someone would bring them up. We then had lunch (not that great) and our bags were still in reception. The reception staff didn't appologise or offer to help as they watched us take our bags up.

The remainder of the day we seemed to be the only ones around. When we checked out they didn't even ask how our stay was - which is very unlike any hotel I've stayed in.

I would not recommend staying here at all. Rather book the Paradise cruise (even for one night) which was fantastic and get out of there.

Paradise Suites Ha Long Bay Vietnam

This lovely Boutiques Hotel is modern, charming and conveniently located on Tuan Chau Island within very close proximity to the Paradise Luxury Cruises in Ha Long Bay.

The Staff is very sweet and willing to do anything to make your stay wonderful.
We arranged round-trip transfers from Hanoi directly through the hotel. Transportation was in clean comfortable vehicles, and the drivers were very punctual. We also arranged a guided tour of the Market Place in Ha Long City and had a cooking demonstration back at the hotel with the fresh ingredients our guide had purchased at the Market. We also arranged our private Cruise and Cave exploration directly with the hotel. All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay while in Ha Long Bay!

Wonderful & comfortable Hotel

We had a great stay at the Paradise Suites you can't get closer to the Halong Bay Rock Formations as from this Hotel. Right at the Warung from where all the Boats depart to Halong Bay. The Staff and Management was most helpful and friendly. The two restaurants serve very good food.
Very nice and large rooms wonderful comfortable bed and a nice
Bathroom. We will definitely book the Paradise Suites again on our next trip to Halong Bay.

New hotel needed service upgrade

It's located in a new developed tourist area about 8 km away from downtown. The Vietnamese restaurant is very good. The reception is nice. They try hard to provide service and stay a long time for a customer. If you have someone in front of you, then it takes you at least 10mins waiting time, since they just have 2person in the front desk and that includes the concierge. We joined the Cat Ba island tour organised by the hotel(usd128/per person/we have group of 6 price usd48/per person), it is not specify clearly in there brochures they take you there with the public ferry and it's around 45mins to get to the island. Please look out when you join any of the tours.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere

Such a beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel with fantastic service. The free breakfast was incredible. the room was big, beds were crazy comfortable, and the bathroom was great. only thing is location. it's located away from town in pretty deserted area. not a big issue though, we just took a cab I to town. The internet was kind of slow. I would definetely stay here again. its a very good deal for the money.

Beautiful Hotel with excellent staff

Beautiful new hotel with friendly staff and excellent service. Has a lovely restaurant and free shuttle service into town. I was shopping for a particular item and when picking me up after visiting the giant sun wheel the driver went out of his way to take me to a couple of shops to see if I could find what I was looking for. When I was looking to try local street food concierge dropped me off and picked me up at a spot that she recommended. Very convenient to the cruise ships to tour the bay. Great for a relaxing visit but Halong City itself is not a great destination.

Excellent hotel accommodations. If you're looking for a clean, luxiurious, relaxing experience (at a good price) -- this place is for you. There's not a lot to do in the area around the hotel. There's free breakfast which offers a great spread. In terms of food taste -- I think there could be some improvement at all restaurants. All staff members were professional, friendly and helpful. Stellar customer service on all levels. Hotel management was also very attentive and courteous. I recommend going on a full day cruise (private boat tour). You will be amazed. It exceeded my expectations. The spa facilities are also very, very good. I will definitely stay here again, and I definitely recommend it to others. I stayed here for 2 days -- based on the surrounding area (things to do), this was a perfect amount of time.

Place is very nice, clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is great. Especially the seafood from the nearby restaurant 1958. Very good value for money.
Not much to do in the local area though. And half the neighbourhood is still being built.
Perfect place to stay for a day or two, while waiting to go on a cruise. The place would be amazing with a decent pool closeby, for a more resort-like feel. But currently there is not much to do on a longer stay.
as mentioned earlier i would highly recommend for a shorter stay though. And would personally not hesitate to book again, if i ever want a second cruise in halong bay

Great stay

The room was beautiful but we find the lighting in the room is not enough as they were too dimmed. Breakfast was amazing with big choices of food available. The distance from the main building to the swimming pool puts us off using the facility. The staff were very attentive (they sent me a birthday cake to the room!) and helpful.
