We didn't get the room we'd requested and paid for. We were very disappointed with the room we got.
Bathrooms and rooms definitely need to be renovated. Over rated as a 5 star hotel.

Room was not satisfactory. Bathroom had a leak. Beds were smaller than shown in picture. Beds were not separated and were made into one big bed even though I had stated that there were 3 adults staying in the room. Staff (Manthan - Manager), in particular, was very helpful. He accommodated us as best he could. But, there were no other rooms available, even when I offered to pay for an upgrade.

The entire facility was just so pleasant and well maintained. The rooms were generous and clean. They were not over the top but very adequate. The staff was outstanding! Always polite, always ready to help and went out of their way to accommodate requests. The food was uniformly good and the breakfast buffet was standout. As a family, we went to Taj Holiday Village and Resort for rest and relaxation and that is what we achieved.

One of the nicer properties in Goa, plenty of area for kids to run around, fantastic pool and beach access. The staff hospitality has remained one of the best I have experienced.

My only grievance would be with the room - though amply sized, I found the bathrooms to be a tad outdated and in need of repair. Disclaimer - I did not raise this issue with the management as I was more intent on having a good time.

Our stay was fantastic! The ambiance was amazing, and one of the best perks of booking the Taj Village Resort is that you also get access to both Taj Fort Aguada and the Village Resort. The property is expansive, well-maintained, and impeccably clean. The direct access to the beach is another major highlight. The staff was incredibly friendly and always helpful, ensuring we had a wonderful and memorable stay.

Bad Value for Money stay

This is one of the Taj’s flagship property in India and one of the most expensive hotels so one expects extraordinary service from them especially on Christmas holidays. Surprisingly they only have two restaurants, one is coffee shop offering buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner and the other one is a Thai restaurant- Banyan Tree. We have stayed at this property many times but this time food at coffee shop was very much below average- minus 10 on a scale of 10. Tasteless with bad to look at presentation on table made us hunt for food outside the hotel though we had paid for a meal plan. There are so many great choices outside the hotel for food that is much reasonably priced like Second House, Hosa, etc. Rotten bananas coming on the table and such food not only in buffet but also in ala carta menu escaping professional eyes is a serious RED FLAG. We informed all the concerned people and they promised to look into it.

Secondly the cabanas were all dirty. Despite bringing it to their knowledge no one cleaned it up for five nights of our stay. This is not what you expect after you pay $800 USD for a night.

Taj experience, excellent everytime. Staff was great, polite and helpful. Rooms are small/ stuffed. Breakfast is really nice. Dinner buffet is limited, i think since a lot of people choose to eat outside due to so many options in Goa.
Again super services by the staff. Bar at the pool is a good add on. Private beach is also really good. Their food is really good especially at the Banyan tree Thai restaurant), the staff again excellent. Highly recommended.

Loved our stay!

We have just finished a 10 day stay at the Taj Village Resort and cannot recommend it enough. The entire stay was well beyond our expectations. Shubham, Uma and Salonica at reception were welcoming and always helpful. Sudedh at the travel desk always on hand to organise transport. Prajot and Saeel at the poolside bar were always so kind and went out of their way.
Sahhoo the lifeguard was amazing. Always making sure our sun beds were arranged such that my children were sheltered from the sun. Prakash and Devanand at the Caravela were always on hand to ensure we were taken care of at the restaurant. We did have a blip with 2 groups of Ill mannered students checking in and making 4 days rather unpleasant but that cannot be held against the hotel or staff in any way. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a hotel in Goa and you are travelling with children.

Me and my wife have been staying in taj for most of our holidays since years but Goa taj doesn’t feel like the standards taj has . Firstly we tried the restaurant in taj which apparently served goan food but when we had it , it was average half of the things were not available , fish curry was smelly fish dint feel fresh , we left the entire curry , prawn fry was again average , then we tried buffet for breakfast it was nothing like taj felt im in some 3 star restaurant , there is no mirror in the rooms everytime my wife had to get ready she was using the washroom mirror , don’t you think there should be a big mirror in the room it was inconvenient for my wife and for me and again not what we paid for , the bathroom valve for the shower kept falling everytime we went for shower , once we called the housekeeping to clean the room in the morning and afternoon we came back to room , my wife had kept DND on because the room was clean and she had kept her personal belonging in the room and we went out in sometime when we returned back in the eve , housekeeping had again come in the room to decorate the bed even after the DND was on which was unacceptable,after complaining the manager said he’ll get back to me but he didn’t care I guess and we left the next morning really disappointed with taj Goa , would not recommend it to anyone

The location is great the breakfast is good. The beach and pool are great. The F&B staff are pleasant with prompt service Special shout out to the Banyan tree and the house of Nomad. Check-in and Check-out process was not pleasant, the house manager was RUDE when I asked for my second key for my Dad, the check-in process took 3 hours, the service recovery was acceptable thanks to Isha. They have a complimentary shuttle etc. However, at this price point there are better options in Goa, staying here was a mistake.

This hotel and the staff are truly amazing! Welcoming, courteous, accommodating and generous. We were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday on this trip, and were sweetly surprised by the chocolate cake and birthday message left in our room one day. So thoughtful! Restaurants on site are excellent, the new Seven Rivers brewery nearby also a fabulous property for dinner and drinks. Highly recommend the Taj to anyone visiting Goa.

Must say Taj always tries to do their best in hospitality, but it could have been better . This is our second stay in last 21/2 months but this time it was a stronger feeling that next time we should try some other resort . At breakfast time it is disaster galore with service effected drastically . The food was better than January but why can’t Taj up their taste in food with the resources they have . They need to have more chefs . Having said that we have never stayed anywhere but at Taj village or aguada since last 25 yrs in north Goa . Hope they take this feed back seriously and improve the outsourced taxis conditions and the money they charge for it along with in house facilities .

Disappointing 3 stars hotel experience

Was a bad stay especially because service was terrible; on Jan 1st we ordered a simple room service in the afternoon and after 1.5 h we still don't get our food and drinks. I had to change 3 times the room to have what I've required, ending up with a non renovated room which was just AVERAGE. breakfast was nothing great, mostly Indian. I felt like I'm a very local 3 star hotel property, very disappointing

It’s a beautiful location, well laid out hotel, with all the comforts and amenities.
Service in the restaurants is sometimes a bit slow. One definite exception is Ms Passang. She was quick energetic, very pleasant and made excellent food suggestions.

Another request i would like to make. I understand that this is a 5 star hotel and guests like to experience the luxury. However in view of the environmental impact we hope the hotel can be a bit more aware and reactive than automatic. Housekeeping staff should also be so advised.
A) Put glass bottles with filtered water in the rooms instead of plastic bottles.
b) add/ replace towels and linnen only at the request of guests not automatically.

These are small changes that can help us reduce our impact on the environment even as we enjoy a comfortable stay.

At the end of the stay, despite not using the first ones we had a collection of 9 unopened Bisleri water bottles and 3 bath towels.

What an amazing stay. The service was superb, the room was superb, the location was superb.

Special mention of Favioe, the chef at breakfast. I had asked him for a Ross omelet one morning and he did not have the right ingredients then. The next morning, he got everything together and served it for me, even though it was not on the menu options for their buffet! This is the kind of service that bumps a stay from good to exceptional!!

WILL NEVER STAY IN A TAJ HOTEL AGAIN

My stay in Taj Village Goa for 2 nights on 28th & 29th Aug,2019 was a horrible experience.We booked a room for 4 adults as advertised and got a room in which 3 could not fit without an extra bed being put in. In our view this is \" cheating and misleading a customer\". Being an NRI for 26 years and having stayed in premium properties all over I certainly did not expect to be let down by \" Taj\". The standard SOP of offering a discount was not accepted by me as we were very uncomfortabe as a family of 3 including our daughter 16 years old.In fact I remember 13 years ago we were in a group of 2 famiies from Dubai and had the same experience. My friends who were a family of 4 \"brought the house down\" on the same issue and were upgraded. My wife and I did not want to create a scene but must say I will never stay at Taj ever again and will advise my friends and family to do the same.\"Taj\" was associated with the TATA' s synonymous wih Trust and Reliability.....sadly lacking at Taj Village Goa.Not once did any staff member come up with a logical explanation on how 4 can fit into that room....or give us a room for 4---I woud love to see the GM of the Hotel + 3 adults stay in the room advertised for 4!!!!!....I guess once in a while an upset guest is acceptable to the management......Many hotel chains to choose from.... never Taj again

This is an amazing property, with impeccable service and fantastic amenities. Right from the airport pick up and check in experience, which was flawless as the staff had prepared the keys in advance of our arrival....to the rooms, pool, beach access and restaurants. Everything was really good. We took a tour guide and car service from the hotel itself for a day trip (highly recommend). The property is a little further away from the hustle and bustle of some of the more popular beaches, but these are easily accessible via taxi. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a trip to Goa!

Room was dirty, rat droppings on balcony, and far inferior to the sisters Taj (Fort Aguada) for more money. My tv didn’t work, my bagged fell off the cart into the road. The airport transfer was leaving late, nearly making the whole bus miss their flight. When I went to enquire, the bus started driving off with my luggage and I had to chase it down the road. Don’t stay here. Not five star, nowhere close. If you like Taj brand, stay next door. This hotel Is not worth the money. I complained, no one even bothered to call back. You can get far more for your money elsewhere

Good hotel on the beach. I stayed at the premium sea facing cottage for 3 nights. The first day the room was not cleaned and there were a lot of insects in the room and bathroom. On bringing it or notice of the hotel from next day they insured good cleaning. The hotel location is good and has some great night spots like Cohiba and LKP. The hotelmitself has a fantastic Thai restaurant Banyan tree. The hotel staff were extremely nice . The spa is located at another destination and hotel provides transfers.

Wah Taj ! Superb Hotel with Beach

It's all started with Amex Taj gift Vouchers, hotel booked through expedia. Taj Holiday Village was an great choice to be in Goa. As it was hot & humid we got into the pool to cool down ourselves and later in the evening went to beach which is few steps away from hotel.

The best thing about the hotel was the landscape and lots of greenery inside in the hotel premise. It was like living in planned Jungle to be with the nature. The Mango Tree was full with fruit, my kids enjoy the taste.

All in All superb experience and thanks to Amex, Expedia and Taj for the same!!!!!!

Very comfortable hotel with good access to beach

Goa was our choice of destination for our 4th wedding anniversary and I am sure no other hotel could've made it this memorable. Everything from the check-in to check-out was smooth. I was a little paranoid about this vacation with my 9month old baby but our stay was made comfortable by the friendliest staff. A special shout out to them.

What i totally loved about this hotel? The sunset deck and easy access to Candolim beach. A portion of the beach is maintained by the hotel.

What was just ok about the hotel? The food. The breakfast buffet was just about ok. For a taj hotel, a lot could be improved in terms of the tastes and variety. The spread got repetitive and we were there for just 3 breakfasts.

What was completely disappointing about the hotel? I don't know if it was just us, but we felt that the hotel staff kinda got weird as we neared check-out. It was like they were waiting to get rid of us and bring the next guests in. There definitely was an attitude change. Also, the airport shuttle almost left without us and our baggage. We weren't even late. We were standing right there and they didn't seem to care until we requested to stop the bus. Whewww... anyway... if you are looking for a family vacay with the beach right by your side, pick this!

Still the same since 8 years! Best in Goa

As always... this was my 8th Holiday in same resort. It feels like home.. with great amenities in this entire zone. Fantastic food... service....housekeeping ... and ambiance of the cottage area. The only drawback is it seriously needs a redo interior wise... as it's same old bathroom fittings and other details like old small TV and amenities within the cottage.
Rest all is perfect for anyone... It's best in Goa. Will come back surely.

NICE HOTEL CLOSE TO THE BEACH,GREAT FOOD

IT HAS BEEN GREAT 4 NIGHT STAY EACH DAY A DIFFERENT STORY,MAY HAVE TO WRITE VOLUMES TO DESCRIBE OUR PAMPERED STAY,THE EXTENDED COURTESY OF THE HOTEL STAFF ,THE MANAGERS ON THE PROPERTY TO THE CHEF HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL,TAKING CARE OF ALL OUR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.

THE KIDS HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE ACTIVITY CENTER,
LOOKING FWD TO OUR NEXT VISIT .

Beautiful location, staff and food

I had a great stay at Vivanta by Taj last week. The staff were lovely and friendly. The room was spacious and was a nice nod to the Portuguese style that Goa is known for. The pool was by far our favourite place (and for some reason we seemed to be the only ones in there- winning)! The pool staff were fantastic, and the swim up bar was amazing. Prajyot the barman looked after us so well. The Banyan tree restaurant was so delicious and Jiva spa massages were fab. Would definitely recommend to others travelling to Goa. Not a cheap stay, but treat yo self!

given the location and reputation its was a bit of a disppointment ,

it says garden view but u r like stuck in a corner , within a 20 ft view of another cottage .

Not my fav place to stay anymore in north Goa

Was not my first time here but it was not that great . I suggested 15 people and they stayed here on my word but most of them were disappointed. We all paid around 28-29k for 2 nights which is absolutely not worth for this hotel. 7-8k per night is still ok because of location and some of common areas of the property. Food at Caravella was good. Room service was horrible . Had to wait very long everytime we called. Had to follow up so many times. Not coming back here mostly and not at all recommending it.
