The reception area was clean and welcoming and the reception staff were efficient. The room was comfortable especially the king size bed. However the lighting in the rooms was bot sufficient and we found it dark. The room was only serviced in the three nights we stayed which was a bit disappointing

Parking is very limited. Hotel is mostly used by people who work during the day and stay over with their big work trucks, taking up most of the very limited parking. Staff not friendly; breakfast is ok. Noisy place with doors slamming. Will never stay here again.

Pre paid the room, it was used by another guest couple hours before and it was not refreshed (the bed). Had to change my own sheets with the guard (he was nice by the way). Dramatic hotel.

Nice place to stay for a short break

The staff were all very friendly.
Lot's of choice for the buffet breakfast.
The room was clean, the only criticism is lack of electrical sockets, there was only spare one and that was on the opposite side of the room to the beds. The beds are a small single.
Parking is available but if you arrive mid-late evening it maybe full, there is on street parking though.

The bathroom door is translucent so you can see everything that the person inside is doing - no privacy at all! This is the same at every Bastion Hotel. There was a nespresso machine but only 2 capsules provided. Room was quite dark. Car park very full at night and cars were causing obstruction. But for 1 night and the price we paid, it was just about ok.

The worst I have experienced

I would not stay in that hotel even for free. The bed is baby size, the room cold, dark, rundown and not suitable for a hotel. I felt that I was cheated of money as the hotel room looks nothing like what has been advertised. Actually, I will not use Hotel.com again because of that.

Are your people valuable?

I have stayed at this Hotel on and off for 6-8 weeks...the main reason I re book week after week is the staff. It was with great disappoint on my return from another Hotel because the Bastion was booked solid ,I discovered that after a head office visit we seemed to have staff leaving left, right and centre. I witnessed the Head office personal conducting his inspection on standards and customer awareness I was actually put off by the constant badgering of customers and staff. I am in Holland on business for the next 6 months and intended to use this Hotel for my entire stay. I am considering if that all the excellent staff leave this will not be to the high standard that I have been previously experienced from Stefan(now in Tilburg)Puck, Milou, and Desiree...It as a businessman involved in retail seems be considered to be a massive opportunity missed to try and retain your most precious assets which are your staff. These people are priceless to your business and are not just numbers. I would appreciate a reply to my Email address with your comments.

Good for a one-night stay

The only issue we had was that there was no soap included in the toiletries - only shower gel and shampoo - not much good if you just want to wash you hands and face, but other than that everything was fine. Breakfast had something for everyone, didn't have dinner so can't comment. Good as a motel, except our car door was dented badly in the car park, but obviously, that is not the hotel's fault, just an ignorant driver who must have known they had done it but didn't feel the need to apologise or report it.

The room was very good. Comfortable bed with excellent square pillows.Kettle in the bedroom for coffee making- a facility which is slowly filtering into Dutch hotels.BBC 1 on the TV was also welcome.Had a pleasant meal in the restaurant.Ample parking.

Great Service!

The hotel was very comfortable, and the staff very friendly and supportive. Their regular dinner menu didn't meet my specific dietary needs, so they created a special meal, and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. As for the hotel itself, it was clean and very quiet, despite being near a main road. The only downside is that apparently none of the rooms have double beds, and we don't particularly enjoy sleeping in twin beds.

Intimacy discouraged!

This Hotel is one of a rapidly growing chain, and keen to please. HOWEVER, I booked a double room with Expedia, not a twin room, and on arrival was told they ONLY HAVE TWIN rooms. (This is just the opposite of some Hotels in Austria, which only have \"Austrian doubles\".) This should be made clear on the website.
Apart from this, I had no complaints and it was all efficient and politely administered.

Not a great choice

This hotel is a 12-15 Euro taxi ride from the train station. It is expensive given the remote location. Systems are not functioning as expected. I was repeatedly locked out of the hallway by my malfunctioning room key. The A/C in the room did not appear to be actually controlled by the panel on the wall--- I slept with two blankets, a coat, and a wool cap on.

The hotel is a good twenty minute walk from the railway station and finding the entrance to the hotel is quite difficult. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable but all the rooms are twin bedded, not brilliant if you are travelling as a couple. Also,we arrived mid afternoon and although the hotel information stated lunch was served until 5pm, this turned out to be not the case. Very disappointing as this meant a trek back into town to get something substantial to eat. Overall though, good value for money.

At check-in I got a \"used\" room which was not cleaned.
It was fixed, another room was arranged and an excuse bottle of wine was brought to the room. Problem solved well, but this can be avoided by just checking.

Makkelijk bereikbaar, vlakbij snelweg en winkels. Nette en vlotte incheck. In de kamer lag de stang van de hangkast en de kledinghangers op het bed. De hangkast lag dus half uitelkaar. Dit geprobeerd zo goed mogelijk op te lossen. Op één van de handdoeken zat een \"rode\" vloeistof. (Bloed?) Geen melk en suiker bij de koffie. Jammer. Verder prima bed en heerlijk geslapen na mijn optreden in Goes. Vriendelijk personeel.

Eerste kamer checkten we in schoven de bedden aan elkaar en daar lagen bierdopjes en afval dat was kamer 35 ook de verwarming trilde heel hard
Toen kregen we kamer 32 die was iets netter maar in de hoeken spinnenwebben en super koud ook de badkamer zat vol spinnen webben en schimmel. We checkte om 20.15 in en gingen om 02.00 weg omdat we niet konden slapen door de waardeloze bedden

Gewoon goed, mijn vriendin was extreem duizelig en kon daardoor niet goed lopen , ik mocht het ontbijt ophalen en naar de kamer brengen. Late incheck is erg prettig , en oh zo fijn pas om 12 uur weg de volgende dag.
