Came to Bangalore as a city stop as we went somewhere else before this. We stayed 4 nights but did not actually go out. The hotel’s food was really good, healthy and a good variety. We tried all restaurants. The Chinese and Indian restaurants were the best. I would say maybe the Japanese and Italian food were good for Indian standards, but as someone who has lived in Italy and love Japanese food, those restaurants were not really good, noodles/ pasta were over cooked and there weren’t the Italian and Japanese flavour required. The rooms were comfy and plenty of things to watch on tv. We were in the 16th floor sos did not really hear the traffic. All staff were very nice, especially Muskan from b Cafe, she really took care of us

Everything was fine except this one staff at break on the 28th when I was going for an omelette, I stood there for 5mins while he ignored me and served others. Not sure if this was because I was brown and the others were white and Asian people. FYI- I am not Indian, but from Mauritius, so I have the same skin colour, but that doesn’t mean that I should get ignored, I paid the same amount as everyone else there. Anyways, other than that, everything else was fine

I have given 3 stars for the following reasons:

1) when I first checked in, I asked to use the bathroom in the lobby. It smelled bad - I think the smell was coming from the sewer system. For a ‘5-star’ property, that is unacceptable.

2) When I checked-out, I asked for a printout of my receipt - essentially a piece of paper showing how much I was charged, and the fact that I had paid. Now mind you, although this was booked through Expedia, I chose to pay the hotel directly (the whole amount, in Rupees) when I checked-in. This should not have been a problem, but your front desk staff refused to print me a receipt. I stayed at the Taj Bangalore two days prior, and they were booked through Expedia as well, but they had no problem printing out a receipt for my records.

3) In general the service from the staff was not bad, however when I first checked-in, the man who checked me in, seemed to be somewhat patronizing in his behavior. I guess he just didn’t seem very professional and welcoming (not saying he didn’t smile, etc., just something about his attitude). Again, something I did not experience with the staff at the Taj.

Great hotel, comfortable in the top 5 hotels I’ve stayed at in Bangalore.
I stayed here on a weekend to break up a business trip which was further out of the city. I left my power bank in the bar after one too many of the drinks… I emailed them and managed to resolve it quickly, picked it up the next weekend when I was in town. Fantastic Service all round and great breakfast options.

Shangri-la needs to change their hotel fragrance.

I arrived at noon before check in time 2pm. My room was not available so the staff tried to sell me an executive room with lounge access and breakfast. However as I had to leave hotel at 5am on the last morning thus missing breakfast, I did not take up the offer. I did get my assigned room after an hour+. Upon checking out, I realised my gold sratus at Hotels.com would allow me free upgrade which was not extended to me. The room itself was outdated and the smell in the room was not pleasant. I would suggest Shangri-la to change all their pillows which smell stale.
I also had 2 dinners and 1 lunch at Shang Palacce. The team was the best, professional and always checking on me.

I expect higher standards at Shangri-La, decor in lobby old fashion, suite upgrade was required in order to access room early, room lovely however daily clean was poor and carpets not cleaned. Disappointed while waiting for suite access at 6am we were first refused breakfast until next day however after complaining I was given breakfast. In all my travels around the world I have never been refused use of facilities once arriving. Club access - food was average, drinks options were not great, I been to much better club lounges around the world.

Horizon club was good. A good room makeup. Very food bedding. Power shortage including elevator stop several times everyday. Very dangerous hotel limo driver for airport pickup. Attitudes of staffs at cafe B and gym are quite bad. Meals at Saffron was too salty and mo change even after complaints for whole dinner course.

Experience is not so good and to some extent, I would say unexpected:
1) Interaction with front desk staff at midnight wasn't expected at this level of hotel. He needs serious grooming & especially on customer interaction & choice of words.
2) On next morning, I left at 9:30AM and around 4:30PM while crossing the hotel during my journey from South to North of the city, I thought of dropping few stuff. But surprisingly found that the room hasn't been serviced. I asked a carpet cleaner, who was then working just outside my room; he responded that I should have informed front desk while leaving. Understood that he is also another untrained member of the team.
3) Though hotel has 6 lifts in the lobby but most of the guests didn't respect the privacy of other members. Lifts were often too crowded and giving a feel of shopping mall or office lifts. Hotel could have deployed a person to manage the crowd. I finally decided to enter a lift with 2 other guests but then 3 more people accommodated themselves! No one had time for another 40-50 seconds. A lapse from hotel management.
4) I had to extend my stay for one more night. Though I completed my formalities in the morning before leaving the hotel at 7:15AM, my access key hadn't been updated. So, I had redo that at 8PM...at a gap of more than 12 hrs after being refused lift access.
5) In continuation of #4; my wifi hadn't been updated. Finally realised that my choice was wrong & decided not to bother any further.

We stayed 2 nights at the property with our 1 year old. From the moment we stepped out of the car we received near perfect service. The staff from the reception, restaurant to the club lounge were always attentive, accommodating to our needs an made sure we were comfortable at all times. The room was also clean and very comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious.

I want to make special mention of a few staff members that made our stay an especially happy one - Dharini from the front desk checked us in and suggested an upgrade to the club floor. She personally escorted us to the rooms so we can view them and choose and we ended up opting for the upgrade which we do not regret. She was always there to help us and even organized food for our child when we arrived. We were also served by Shikha at the Horizon Lounge who catered for our every need including providing kid friendly options during cocktail hour. Ravichandra from the housekeeping department also made sure our room was always comfortable and fully stocked. He even helped bring our bags down himself when he could have called for the porter - this is GOOD service!

Very rarely do I write positive reviews but our stay at the hotel has convinced us to visit Bangalore just for the hotel. We will be sure to be back very soon. Thank you to your amazing staff!

Whilst I cannot fault the room and bathroom, which were marvellous, our stay left a lot to be desired. As it was New Year's Eve, there were only NYE package food and beverage options meaning no option to go to any restaurant venue for an early a la carte meal, which we had not been warned about. Also, it was incredibly loud until 2am with thumping music, which again would have been nice to know (and they knew we had to catch a 4:20am car to the airport so perhaps they could have offered to put us in a quieter part of the hotel, if there was such a place). I do appreciate that our disappointing experience may be largely attributable to the fact that it was NYE and the hotel guests seemed to cater exclusively to NYE revellers, but there seemed to be no consideration for guests who were not interested in partying into the wee hours and / or who had an early morning flight. Lastly, having stayed at other Shangri-La properties, I noticed a distinct attitudinal difference with the staff at this hotel who were, at best, perfunctory.

This is possibly the best property I lived in India so far; its amazingly excellent.
I stayed in a 11th floor room with panorama view which was beautiful with little-above-the-floor to ceiling glass walls in 2 sides of the room. Room services were prompt & efficient, as well as in-room dining; a special mention to Besuto.
Fitness center is very well equipped with sufficient free weights, ropes, weight training machines for arms, lat, shoulder, chest, legs, squat bar & cardio options. Loved the section with complimentary jacuzzi, steam, sauna - really well maintained & spacious. The rooftop pool area leaves with a soothing ambiance.
I tried the Japanese on-prem restaurant, Yataii, which was good. Otherwise the food price came across very expensive including the breakfast buffet. Only suggestion, they might want to add an option of oats & almond milk for in-room breakfast.
In short, it was a wonderful stay & highly recommended.

Excellent hotel on a crowded street. Airport transfers at INR 4000 is too expensive. Food in the cafe was very good but no a-la carte option (buffet only), which is disappointing. I have stayed here two times in the past 2 years and I absolutely love this property! Friendly folks beautiful rooms and dining options. Only issue I had was the vault had a mind of its own, made 3 attempts to get it sorted with the engineers finally had to replace it but everything else trumped this issue. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were large and well laid out. Will return on my next visit later this year! Wonderful week spent!

The hotel is ok. For some reason, they charge 10 to 15 times more than the street-level price (eg uber) for transportation…the hôtel is in the middle of nowhere so you need to be ready to be driven around.
The food is the highlight of the place…and the only attraction of the city if you ask me.

Shangri-la is undoubtedly among the better hotels in Bengaluru. I liked the ambience of the lobby. The courteous Concierge and front desk ensured smooth Checkin. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were of the appropriate size. The bathroom was well equipped and there were separate shower and toilet. The commode was interesting and had a built-in bidet, typically Japanese.
Bathroom amenities were adequate except for shower gel. My only tragedy was when I booked the hotel car. When leaving the final destination at 10pm the driver (Selvam) was nowhere to be seen and did not respond to my desperate calls. I had to hire another vehicle to get back to the hotel. Not a very pleasant experience. The business centre staff was not very communicative.

Exceeds Its Established Reputation

This is the first time I stayed with Shangri-La, and the hotel stands up to its reputation. I was particularly impressed with the anticipatory nature of Rina at the private breakfast lounge on the upper floor. She knew exactly our idiosyncratic tea preferences and would get it right upon arrival. Always with a warm smile and nothing was too difficult. It often takes 1-2 people to really make a difference and Shangri-La does that. Thank you!

Shangri-La Bengaluru is always beautiful. The staff and service are impeccable, the breakfast should get a special mention as should the spacious and comfortable rooms.
