It’s an old property with lots of character uneven floors and lots of steps it’s lovely and clean although rooms are a bit dated and some quite small has some outside rooms with private entrances
We had a shower over a bath which may be difficult for some one elderly to use so I’d specify if you have any specific needs
The food was good basic pub grub and breakfast was excellent
Parking is easy and free for residents just make sure you register your number plate when you arrive
The hotel is very central in the town so lots of places within walking distance

Clean room, internet good - streamed Netflix OK.
Restaurant nice with a few veggies choices.
Very close to town center.
And they had a decent cider on tap.

The bins had not been emptied when we arrived in the room at 5.30pm.so we had our doubts that the room had been cleaned correctly or just skimped over, let the duty manager know and she apologised.....think they were short staffed being a Sunday, but this is not good enough and not the standard we are used to

A friendly, well-placed hotel in a market town

The staff could not have been more helpful - David in particular - at reception and in serving breakfast. This really makes all the difference after a tiring day travelling. It was lovely having table service at breakfast. I was able to take my dinner to my room which I really appreciated too.
The bed was one of the best hotel beds/mattresses I have slept on and I had a very good night's sleep.
The carpark was conveniently placed for my hotel room also.
All of these things, together with the warm welcome and just-right service, would make me recommend the hotel to others and return there myself.

The staff were very nice and helpful.
I was shown a better room upstairs, but knew my wife couldn’t walk up two flights so I was shown a room at ground level. This was ideal. It was smaller, but the beds were very comfortable and clean.

Coffee and tea making facilities were good. Hairdryer and tv good.

There was not enough hanging space and no drawers, The carpet would benefit from a clean.

The bathroom was a good size and the shower, bath, sink and toilet were very clean and served their purpose. The white towels were white and nice and soft. A new mirror wouldn’t go amiss.

The breakfast was very nice. Compliments to the chef.
I could have done with some jam or marmalade for the toast, but we didn’t ask and none was offered.

The pub itself was a spacious size. All the tables were very clean.

By the end of our stay we quite liked our room. It just needed a little tlc in places.

This is not a five star hotel, but for what we paid we were quite happy. The room was very basic, but suited our needs.

I do not recommend this hotel. Difficult to locate. Very loud music throughout the hotel until 11pm. Painful to my ears.

Don’t expect too much.

Having parked in the car park I walked in to the pub and asked to check in, where I was then directed to the ‘office’ or reception. This could have been much better signposted to save time. Check is went ok and I was given the key and told where the room was. This was in an outbuilding, literally right by the car park and on the ground floor. The room was very small and dark, with a small bathroom attached featuring a bath with shower attachment, toilet and sink. It was all clean but quite tired and old looking, plus it was extremely warm, and I could not leave the window open as it was right by the walkway to the car park, so open to the public. I actually slept reasonably well considering the heat.
Evening meal and breakfast were both fine, very typical pub grub but at fairly competitive prices.
This is clearly an old pub in a lovely traditional English market town, but it needs a little effort to tidy it up. I wouldn’t rush back, but it was ok for a single night stay.

The room was very small and dark, the decor made it even darker. The room was extremely warm, could have done with a fan. The bathroom only had 3/4 of a toilet roll, so had to buy some from Sainsburys, which was a 1 minute walk.
The bed was comfortable and had a nice
sized tv.

A good budget option, rooms are clean and comfortable enough, think better than a Travelodge but not a premier inn.

The food is decent to be fair and good value

Drinks a little expensive although if you want to order on the app you can save 10% but the app isn't great and the bar is metres away

Breakfast was the let down , very strict on an 8am start, the time for food to arrive was very long and many options out of stock . It could be make so much better with pre orders and times so this wouldn't happen. The food again was good when it came but breakfast needs an overhaul on service to stop you leaving thinking about it as it's the last thing if the stay

Do not book this hotel as they have now charged me twice for a room booked and paid for to Expedia.

When you get the confirmation you need to complete sign in details which, like other hotels, require you to enter credit card details for any incidental charges.

This lot then proceded to charge me the cost of the room again and have now reported that error. During the initial discussions about the mistaken charge they said they never get any payment from Expedia and refused to refund me the money. Expedia even spoke to them and got the same response so Expedia processed a refund to me.

Shocking admin that has spoiled any otherwise great break and I'll never stay here again or even visit the bar.

This is a pub, not a hotel. I do hate writing bad reviews, but Hotels.com keep pressing me for one. Totally clueless staff that could barely book me in to my room - and to have a meal in the bar was to be subjected to about twenty 18-year olds getting absolutely drunk and yelling their heads off as a DJ played on to no one listening.

Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. I was mis sold a family room for 4 when they don’t have a family room for 4, but staff sorted us out a second room. Sadly that room wasn’t quite up to the standards I’d expect from a hotel; lights not working in bathroom, duvets with no covers and the whole room in need of some TLC and paint. As we had been offered this room as a solution to the misselling problem I didn’t feel it was worth complaining. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. The room I had booked originally wasn’t prepared properly; the toilet was dirty, glasses were left on the floor and again it looked like it needed some TLC. As amazing as the staff were here, I won’t be booking this hotel again if we head south in the future.

We had to request toilet rolls and a missing cup, when checking in. The outside rooms attract issues, they was an assault when we were staying and a drunk man in his underwear asking for people to join him?

The steps up to the room one was unsafe and wobbly the cord for the bathroom dirty and no pull, bin in the toilet had no inside bin,extracter fan not working in bathroom, the small fan was very dusty, the door was rotten, we went down to breakfast Friday morning at 8.57 to be told breakfast finished at 9.00 even though it wasn’t quite 9.00.

We stayed for 4 nights and only got room serviced once. Even with service card on door each day. No soap in dispenser at sink and no dispenser in shower. When we asked they gave us dispensers to fit in bathroom. Very difficult to lock door - need to be superman to lock it. We could not check out at 8.30am as all doors to hotel were locked. Had to put key through letter box

We were given a better room, but I left with several flea bites. It is a listed important property, but it is not being maintained. I would not recommend it for accommodation.

Only complaint was room was like a sauna when we arrived and took 1/2 hour with door open in freezing conditions to cool it to a sensible temperature. Staff were helpful and friendly.

At the end of the day all I wanted was a bed for the night and at £40 it was cheapish.

Bed and mattress was very old and uncomfortable.
My room (room 7) faces the rear of the hotel. Very bright security lights are on all night and shine into the room a lot.
Very large amount of mould around windows, stuffy very dusty room.

No one explained the process for coming back late. Room was ok few cobwebs. However was a bad smell in corridor and mould in bathroom.
Service at bar was slow and staff were inexperienced.
Definitely a locals bar.
Breakfast was good very tasty.
Overall was disappointed from the pictures online.

The worst place I have ever been

No words for it.

Dirty, smelly, flys buzzing in court yard, smelly ashtray on reception, dirt and rubbish up the stairs, room not locked, room absolutely filthy with human hair, dust and ground in dirt including a. Used plaster.

Shower screen so covered in scum and lime scale you could not see through it, and skid marks in the loo.

Room was filthy and smelled badly of the kitchen extractors, particularly the towels. Bedding was stained and 4th bed was folded up behind the wardrobe. When unfolded you couldn’t move in the room. The stairs to the first floor of the annexe were in a very poor state of repair. The staff who dealt with us were all great though, very friendly and helpful

The hotel didn't have a record of our booking. Even though I had confirmation. The first gentleman was very unhelpful, and did not care to help us at all
He got someone else to help us who was nice. She had to phone her boss to fix the booking problem.

The room has cob webs on the light fixture and the toilet seat was totally broken.
The sink was so small it was hard to wash in it properly.
The plug in the bath did not keep the water in, it just kept emptying.
The TV did not work properly, when it eventually turned on there were no channels you had to turn it on and off several times.

No one in the pub customer or employee had masks on.

Nice stay in Ringwood

Only a 1 night stay on the way to a family birthday but very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Heating in our room was off when we arrived, but member of staff got the spanners out and soon fixed it (too hot in the end!)! Nice food and would definitely visit again when in the area.
