This hotel enjoys an ideal location on the cliff top at Southbourne, adjacent to the cliff lifts and Fishermans Walk. Spectacular views across Poole Bay take in Swanage to the West and the Isle of Wight.
The surrounding area provides plenty of sightseeing opportunities, with the heart of the New Forest just 15 minutes' drive away and easy access to the Isle of Purbeck, Corfe Castle and Allworth Cove. Southampton Airport is 55 km away and it is 145 km to Bristol Airport.
This family-friendly hotel was built in 1928 and was originally called Crawford's Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to house serving American airmen.
In the early 1950s, an extension was added and it became a bar and hotel. Not long after that, it became a full hotel with 12 en suite rooms, a restaurant and a bar.
There is limited complimentary parking on-site and a designated disabled parking space. There is off-road parking in the streets nearby.
All of the newly refurbished bedrooms come with a private bathroom with toiletries from Gilchrist and Somas and offer brand-new deep-pocket sprung divans, luxurious duvets and pillows. All of the bathrooms have also been refurbished with new English fittings and power showers.

I booked a hotel that specifically said it had an elevator. My room was not accessible by an elevator. I had to climb three flights of stairs. The room itself was not much larger than the bed. I was unable to charge any of my devices because there were no outlets. The bathroom was nice. I will say that that was OK. I’ll never stay here again.

Sometimes during the night, we would hear the lids slamming and people arguing. Certainly not the fault of the hotel but we wondered why the city put it there.

The carpet in the hallways is stained, the paint work is chipped and the rooms are very cheaply decorated. I was put on the 7th floor twice, where there is no elevator. You have to go to 6th floor and then carry luggage up a very small staircase to the 7th floor. The rooms are tiny. The first room had no window, and I could not stand up in half of the room because the ceiling was sloped. The bed was not a queen bed as requested, it was a double bed which was too small. The bedding and pillows are very minimal and not comfortable. The bathrooms don't have a shelf to put any of your supplies and the sink is very small.
The breakfast is quite nice and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, I will most likely not be staying here again.

Beds we so uncomfortable, no where to put your luggage. Closet had 2 hangers and no room to put clothes. No chest of drawers or anywhere to put clothes. Night stand on only one side of bed. No chair to sit in. To get to other side of bed you had to slide by wall and duck under tv. Bad water stain on wall.

The \"executive double\" room we were originally given was nothing like the photo, it was in the roof and I couldn't stand in half of the room. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room and that had bugs in. But, at least it had Aircon because it was I hospitably hot when we got there.

Location of this hotel was great, which was one of the reasons for booking it, but the rooms were incredibly small. Upon check-in we were told we were being upgraded, but the upgrade consisted of a room in, what you could call the “lower lobby”, where you could hear trains rumbling by every few moments. That said, the hotel was clean and I felt the staff were wonderful.

Lots of restaurants and things to do with in walking distance. Our room was nice but lacking in a storage. There were no drawers or shelving just a small closet to hang items. There was a small refrigerator, a tv, and a desk: a nice bathroom. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels left. The view was of the church next door. Perfect for a short stay.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a standard hotel room in central London — not sure what some people were expecting.
The room isn’t huge, but it’s a perfectly reasonable size. My partner and I had plenty of space, and unless you’re planning to spend your entire trip lounging in the hotel, it’s more than enough. If you’re in London to explore the city, this place works exactly as it should.
The location is excellent — easy access to transit, great restaurants nearby, and a quick trip to Westminster. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable base to see the city, this is a solid choice.

We were not able to make our flight to England from Canada, due to a UK ETA mix up. I asked to cancel our reservation. I understand them not cancelling the first night. But they refused the other as well.It was bad enough we missed our Grandmothers 100th Birthday and the trouble with the airline. Some grace would have been nice.

The neighborhood is nice, there is restaurants within vicinity as well as transportation on the tube. The hotel is old so it’s very loud. Walking will wake up other sleepers in your room, you can hear people next door and up stairs walking around and talking quietly which made sleeping hard. The beds are really uncomfortable so that’s something they need to upgrade. Rooms could use a detailing.. they were clean but far from detailed. For the price it was a good value compared to other hotel options. The restaraunt onsite we did not eat at, it is Nepali and Indian so cannot comment. There is an espresso maker in the room and lobby which was nice. The bathroom is difficult to get ready in with a really recessed mirror. Biggest perks: location. Biggest downside: loud and awful beds, linens very rough they need an upgrade.

If I could rate this hotel 0 stars I would! Upon arriving on Friday, December 13th. I was placed in the room of the basement or lower level. Not only did it smell like cigarettes. There was baby roaches everywhere. When I went downstairs and asked for a room transfer because it was in the middle of the night, the concierge was at first hesitant and said there was no more rooms available. I told him I refuse to stay in that room and I would take further action if they would’ve changed the room a couple of minutes later he changed the room to a smaller room on the upper level with no windows and a tight space as I thought the situation was done when I come back to my home state I open my suitcase, and I see some roaches and a couple of days later I started getting marks on my hand, which turned out to be from bedbugs. Save your money go somewhere else as this place should be shut down and I will be taking further action as they do not want to refund me my money. What a disgrace.

I very rarely give bad reviews but this hotel was terrible - the stuff was unorganized we had to ask multiple times for towels, they were ALWAYS NOT THERE. With a digb we ll be back shortly. Also lower lever is not 0 it is a basement thus -1 they trick people by saying that the rooms are 0-6 while they are -1 to 6. Finalky bathrooms are tiny and shower is below average

The twin room was a decent size for two people, although not quite what the pictures advertised. The room and hotel were clean and tidy. Location is convenient to Paddington station (10 min walk), and the tube station and popular buses are very close.
Sound did travel quite easily in this hotel (could hear people talking in the adjacent room, people walking in the room above and the adjacent room door would slam shut everytime), so bring earplugs if a light sleeper. Annoying they wouldn't hold a bag overnight for us, even though we were checking back into the hotel the next day.

The hotel room was on the ground floor. It was obviously a disabled room but it needs attention. Mould on the shower curtain, wonky tap on the washbasin and the shower had no pressure whatsoever- terrible. We were woke at 7:30am each morning by the cleaner who was vacuuming and banging doors etc. The hotel looked nothing like it did in the advertisement. For the money paid, we would have got a lot nicer. Possibly the worst hotel, we’ve stayed in although the staff were pleasant enough.

The photo's must be of a model room, our room was as big as a camper, and I'm not kidding. The bed was not great, but not the worst I've slept on. I paid $185 on Expedia and had to extend one night for $250 in person, which is a lot for this small room without any free breakfast. Also, as an American, I'd appreciate some washcloths. The TV and Air Conditioning worked good, but the limited storage space had me stepping on my luggage. There is no place to sit, only the bed...

The air conditioning and WiFi worked well. Our fridge had to be replaced since it wasn’t working but they promptly fixed the matter. Checking in staff made it difficult, was answering phone calls and stopping the checking in process. Wouldn’t mind if it was an important call but your manager asking to delete a note she left on the laptop doesn’t qualify I think. Room was to hot, ac was dripping and kept making loud noises throughout the night so I had to turn it off. Bed sheets had marks on. Normally don’t do reviews but definitely won’t be staying again.

Fantastic hotel with with central location and good value for money! I booked a one night stay in June and found this hotel online and thought the price was too good to be true - what was the catch? I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel had lovely installation and was on a quiet square off one of the main roads in London. Bed was comfortable, modern bathroom, great views and very clean. Recommend to anyone looking to stay in central London but doesn’t need all the luxuries.

Good option near Paddington Station. The staff were very nice and happily checked us in a hour early, which was greatly appreciated. The hotel itself is classic London, which means rooms are modestly-sized, at least by US standards. But it was clean, recently-renovated, and had an elevator, which lots of small hotels close to the station do not.

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from Kensington Gardens and less than 10 minutes walk to a great Underground station which connected us to the rest of London.
