Door to balcony had been left open at some stage which meant that the carpet was wet where rain had got in. They did offer to swap rooms but we had already unpacked. No hotel information in the room. Also when you want a drink from the ber it's 5% service.

The room was quite large and the beds comfy, one of them had a bad squeak though. The bathroom was tiny, not good for a 4star hotel. There was no hook behind the door for your clothes and underneath the plug chain, which was wrapped around the tap, was black, it obviously had not been cleaned for ages. The booklets in the room looked as though they had been there for years and were well worn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to ask for a couple of things for the room and they were dealt with immediately. There was no a la carte menu in the dining room, just a 3 course menu with choices for each course and you had to have them all. We ate in the bar where there was a choice of pizzas, burgers and a few others. The food was excellent though. There was a service charge added to every purchase, even though it said that this was optional, we were not asked about it, and it was just added on. I don’t object to a service charge, but I prefer to make my own choice of amount and whether I want to pay one or not. The cost of parking was £15 per day, which was a lot to say that we had already paid for accommodation.

The property has a good view over the sea. Close to the beach and amenities. Stuff were nice and helpful. On the other hand there was no AC inside the room which made the stay difficult especially at night. The windows were stuck and we could not open it fully. For the cleanliness i was expecting more from a 4 star hotel. The towels sometimes were stained and the carpet is too old. Overall it was okay but too expensive for what was provided.

The reception staff were very polite and happy to help. Including the gentlemen working by the pool.

However, my family were shouted at by the pool to take our take away meal away to the bedrooms. We had been eating for sometime and were happy to eat our food in our rooms, however we did not appreciate the tone and mannerism from one of the reception staff who had told us off. We believe there is a certain way guest should be spoken to especially when we have come on holiday. The individual who spoke to us could have approached us with more respect with a better tone. We all felt like we had just be told off by an head head. Unfortunately due to this interaction we will not be comfortable staying at the Marshall Court Hotel.

Otherwise the hotel has a great location near the beach and restaurants.

We stayed 4 days at this hotel. We loved every bit of it. The staffs, the service, the cleanliness as well as the facilities. The amenities are amazing, and to be more specific, my kids loved the pool. The location of the hotel is so convenient, whether anyone would like to go to city center, or beach or just wander around the area, every place is easily accessed from the hotel. Bus stops just around the corner, train station is nearby, all city attractions are nearby and easily accessed.
We r definitely returning back next summer.

There was a lot of thought into sustainability and being eco friendly. The room was cleaned to a high standard and the decor wasn't tired or outdated. However our room definitely needed air con, being on the top floor and the room was a sun trap which made it enjoyably in the evenings but uncomfortable at night. The fan provided was a little help but it was very dirty.

Can’t understand how this hotel can be rated 4 star.should be max 2 star.
Hotel badly in need of maintenance. Reception and bar area has worn carpets,. Lift had dirty walls and rubbish in door tract.
Restaurant at back of hotel most unattractive with cheap chairs and tables.
Rooms small with terrible small bathroom. Impossible to adjust the water temperature.
Great location. Opportunity for major hotel group to buy the hotel, demolish and rebuild a hotel justifying the prime position.

Only stayed one night with my wife and two kids. We got the room with the balcony seaview. The staff were very friendly, and the heated outdoor pool was a bonus. The hotel interior itself is slightly outdated but some might prefer this. Otherwise pleasant experience.

Parking of £15 a day is excessive when it allows free parking for people useing the hotel facility that arent staying. Should really be free for guests and charged for non guests. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel. During my stay, there were multiple events taking place, which made the hotel extremely chaotic. Staff were seen carrying suitcases one minute and then serving food in the kitchen the next—not exactly what you’d expect from a professionally run hotel.

The advertised price was £83 per night, which seemed fair, but I was charged over £600 for three nights. That price didn’t even include breakfast or parking, which I had to pay for separately.

I didn’t eat or drink at the hotel and was out from morning until bedtime, mainly to avoid the noise. The atmosphere was loud, with kids running around and dogs barking—definitely not ideal for anyone looking for a quiet or relaxing stay.

Disappointed overall and wouldn’t return.

Hotel is a bit run down but employees are very friendly and helpful. Outside swimming pool is heated, very nice.

Room is spacious, bathroom would need a refresh. Perfect setup for a family. Balcony's view was very nice.
Room was very noisy. You could hear people in the hallway going back to their room and cars from the road in front of the hotel. The room was very warm so we had to open the window, a couple of guys were shouting and arguing in the hotel entrance area in the middle of the night. It was very difficult to sleep.

For the price i paid, the rooms was very basic, too kany furnitures, bedding n towels had a oily fishy smell, stair way was old n tired, again had a stuffy smell, bathroom had mould stain marks, dirty n very basic. Food, wasnt nice for price you pay, fish and chips, fish batter was uncooked, breakfast was not worth the price you pay, bacon looked as if it had gone off, cheese/ ham had finished but not replenished, limited fruit selection. Staff looked as if you were annoying them and i felt we couldn't ask them anything.

We had a wonderful few days here. The pool was thoroughly enjoyed and the staff were really lovely. The pool made it for us! Fantastic ally central hotel and easily walkable for all Bournemouth has to offer. The pool area is a sun trap and the water was warm. It actually felt like a Spanish holiday. Loved it and would recommend!

The hotel was okay came with my husband and 2 children. very creeky floor boards painfully slow lifts and outdated decor.
room size was great but was ridiculously hot only one fan between 4 with one child being over in the corner of the room.
I generaly thought i was going to pass out so because of this non of us could sleep so had a terrible night.
The pool was good but couldnt get a seat/lounger when we first got there had to wait till about 5-6 o clock but not the hotels thought just saying.
So basically paid £206 plus £15 on top for parking to stay in a hotel that was a sweat box and had absoluetly no sleep which ruined the next days plans.

We stayed in this hotel with two very young children ( 3 and 9 months). The staff were all really welcoming and made us feel really at ease with the children. A particular thank you has to go to the staff in the restaurant doing breakfast who kept my children entertained by making them laugh and smile which enabled us to eat our breakfast ourselves not rushed!

Nice to go South for a weekend B/H.

Ideally situated to the beach and town centre, at £15 a night in a very narrow carpark if travelling by car when it's full it's a little pricey (expect your stay price to increase). Old hotel, very warm rooms, comfortable beds but food and drink is pricey too.

If you use the cups in your room, they rinse and wash them out rather than change them for you.

We have stayed here before and this trip didn't disappoint. Clean and well appointed room; sea view recommended. The staff are friendly and helpful. Bar food is good.

One slight negative is the £15 per night charge for parking. While this is in keeping with the local area, we only found out once the non-refundable booking had been placed. This should be indicated on the listing as it may affect the choice of hotel. Hotels.com please note.

Hair in shower, beaten up old fridge and all surfaces were damaged/scratched, dated room, front desk staff checked us out without looking at us once, we said morning and they ignored us (despite being less that 2 feet away from them so they definitely heard) can’t get my head around these other 5 star reviews I’m afraid. Could get the same quality in a 2 star hotel half the price

The Marsham Court Hotel is a wonderful UK Hotel, perhaps slightly shabby but the staff was wonderful, and the view of the ocean from our comfortable room was fabulous. There are all the amenities we were looking for. It is convenient for downtown Bournemouth, although many of the larger stores have moved to a shopping center on the outskirts of town. We enjoyed our stay there and recommend it to anyone staying in Bournemouth.

This is a fine beachside area with loads of potential but we came at the time of year when the weather was cooling. The room has a great view of the pier but the room was a little dated. I was however please the bath had been removed and a fine shower in it placed. Pool was closed and the town seemed a little unkept in certain parts. Meal offering were reasonable and we enjoyed a casual breakfast at the bar instead of the full English breakfast for a change.

It was excellent that the tea coffee and sugar was Fairtrade .
The recycling arrangement from the room was good and the bar voucher for not having the room cleaned was an innovative idea.

The information that the pool was outside could have been a bit clearer in the initial info , if the restaurant could have had a wider choice than the 3 course meal , or the bar meal options in the evening be a bit broader that would have been helpful .

The hotel was a little worn out. The ocean view was slightly obstructed by a big museum across from the hotel. Even though the hotel was in front of the ocean, it took about 10-15 min to reach the beach. There is no direct access to the sea. We had to walk a long passage down to the beach.

Dated, dusty and hot and uncomfortable.
The only benefit was the pool, the room was extremely dusty, the windows couldn’t be opened fully and we couldn’t get an extra fan to make it cooler as the hotel didn’t have anymore. We didn’t have our room cleaned either of the days we stayed due to it being the last room on the floor, even tho we had left for the morning and came back at 1pm for our son to have a nap it still wasn’t cleaned in the first 4h we had given them. The carpet in the room needs a deep clean, radiators were incredibly dusty, we had asked the staff to change our room on 2 days due to the heat and trouble getting to the room (we had double buggy) as it had small corridor with small steps getting to our room, but the biggest issue was the cleaning caddy which was taking up the room on the small corridor with no cleaners in sight, we had to move it on several occasions just to get around to our room. The heat in the room was unbearable even tho we had the fan which was caked in dust upon our arrival and we took upon ourselves to clean it. Overall experience was poor, we left a day early as we couldn’t handle the heat in the room.

Our stay was quite good. All staff members were very cordial and helpful. My daughter had enjoyed her stay in the swimming pool allot. Location is also quite near to the beach.
For those who wants to explore city in public conveyance, i would suggest to take Adult day saver for Breeze Bus Services in 5 pounds and njoy the ride in open bus. It's stand is just outside hotel.
Overall we had a great time staying at the hotel.

We stayed at the Marsham Court for two nights August 23. We had a very welcoming and efficient check in and the initial impression of the hotel was good. The location couldn’t be better, near the town and beach and walkable from the station. Our room was very spacious, set up as twin beds as requested, clean and well equipped. I understand the rooms have been updated and we found ours very comfortable indeed. The pool was exceptionally clean and warm for an outdoor pool, we had a lot of fun. The bar was well run, with a good menu and a lovely acoustic guitar music performance on the night we visited. Overall a great hotel for the price.

We had a lovely stay, tv channels were disappointing for our little one, the room smelt a little bad possibly damp. Soap dispensers were empty the whole time,
But on the whole the room was nice and welcoming. Staff were very nice, especially pat she really made our mornings brighter, she was like a ray of sunshine and our son absolutely loved her, definitely a 5 star member of the team. Breakfast was very nice and catered for our needs well, they had a sensory room which was a lovely calm space for special needs children, carpark is pricey unless free if you book directly with hotel,
Swimming pool looked lovely and inviting but we didn’t get to use it, on the whole a very pleasant stay!
Please give Pat a pay rise, she deserves it!

Small Fridge in the room was making loud noise during the night making it difficult to sleep, the breakfast was not the best we got croissants and they felt like they were 5 days old by how crumbly it was. Review of Marsham court August 2023

We have stayed at Marsham Court many times. It was, as always, very clean, very spacious, staff are fantastic and location is the best. The only thing which let us down this time was that in the past, we have always been allowed to use the pool on the day we checkout (they have extra changing rooms for this purpose). The day we left was raining in the morning so we took a drive then checked out at 11am. We were then told that to use the pool for an hour after that time (the rain had just stopped) would cost us £44 for two adults and two kids and needed to be booked through an external company. It was disappointing as the hotel has gone up by over £70 a night and this facility which was always available has now been taken away. We were also charged £15 a day for parking which hadnt been communicated at booking. So overall, we paid over £200 a night-added parking on top and couldn't use the hotel facilities so it was stressful and disappointing. After all our years at marsham court we are now rethinking. I appreciate that covid has had an effect but customers really do notice these little things and I think all these extras should be clearly started at the time of booking.

Only stay here if ...

You are happy with:

- Old and tired hotel with old and tired rooms
- Pillows and duvet cheap polyester
- Tired and tiny old tv from 1990s, come on this is unacceptable.
- Small and cramped room. Not worth the money.
- No air on. Hottest on 3rd Floor at the top of course. Old hotels are notorious for being like a slow cooker. It was only 23 degrees during the day but heat kept going all night. Only a fan for comfort
- A basic breakfast, and that's being kind. little fresh fruit & horrible coffee. No excuse here. Went out to a nice cafe on the last day as I had had enough.
- Dirty bathroom, not cleaned well. Again no excuse.
- Charge too much for electric car charging ... £10 for 25% of your battery is a rip off.

Having said that, the staff are nice.
The location is good.
Parking.

Stay here if you like the above. Also it's very good for people with disabilities, so fair play to them. They have a target market.

This is a nice, conveniently located and reasonably priced hotel. Our room was clean and modern, staff are friendly and helpful, and it was lovely to swim in the heated outdoor pool. The beach and resort centre is a short walk down the hill and there’s an interesting little museum right opposite. Would recommend and visit again
