Lovely stay as usual, but I must say, that although the Bar is supposed to be open 24x7, some theatre goers and I, were waiting 15 mins to get served at the bar, we were told by the Night Porter, that he had just come on!! I think if they advertise this service, bar 24x7, then it should be service at all times, as the Theatre goers said, it was one of the main reasons they booked the Hotel, so they could get a drink after the performance.
Everything else was great service, Spa facilities are very good, pool open early for a swim, 7am and they have members too who use it!! Great facilities!! Great stay!!

We stayed in the Lodge and the room was fine.
Good breakfast, plenty of choice.
My only grumble was the bathroom. As an older person I had a problem getting in/out of the bath in order to shower. No additional rails.

The hotel had a nice indoor pool, a good breakfast and the staff were all helpful and friendly. It’s a short walk to the seafront and into town. Our room was in the lodge - a separate building but adjacent to main hotel, all clean and a decent sized room.
Small print stuff…Our parking was chargeable but I think I read somewhere that it’s free if you book directly with the hotel. We also paid a £50 refundable deposit per room per night.

Had to wait till 3.45 to get into my room as wasn't ready . Heard other people asking for refund . Value for money I would say . Bathroom door just slide across so not very private.
Breakfast was limited, so they cooked some fresh but left the original on the plate and we had to ask to keep it warm.

Our room was in an annexe away from main hotel very dated rooms basic pillows wafer thin. Temperamental TV.
Breakfast buffet not like photos the reality is tinned prunes tinned peaches,hard bread, cereals topped up ontop of old cereal, hot food ok but tinned mushrooms, thick chewy bacon and sausages that could go threw a tank.
For the price dont restrict yourself theres better cafes outside we ate it twice on our stay and disappointed both times.
Swimming pool was nice but think they may be selling memberships to non residents as it was busy and certainly not for relaxing good if you want to do lengths.
Once again needs a good refurbishment.

The only negative was the breakfast - the toaster was set on so hing it burned the toast in one round and the healthy fresh options were non-exixtent. The breakfast is not worth paying for for any plant-based people.

Over the years my family and I have stayed here many times and I’m happy to say that the high standards we have previously experienced, are ongoing. Excellent staff, great facilities and a fantastic breakfast. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to use the pool and leisure facilities due to our own busy schedule, but next time we will be sure to plan less and do more! Keep up the good work all at the Connaught.

Breakfast was cold nothing apart from the toast was hot(because you put it in the toaster yourself)what they had it in was not adequate in keep it hot, from what i heard they are aware the food is cold.
The room was spacious and relatively clean, bed was not the most comfortable and the pillows were flat.

Very cold welcome, no smile nor warm courtes, treated like a customer buying a takeaway in busy shop. Clearly struggling with directions to my room in an outbuilding but just kept getting repeat instructions, one of the 3 people on the counter (not doing anything else) could have easily stepped out with me a guided me to my room. Room was tiny and the bathroom ridiculously small, could just about get in sideways. Being a first time customer thought they would try and impress for return custom. Not checked SPA facilities so cannot comment.

Disappointed with this hotel. The photos on Expedia show all of the photos for the Connaught Hotel and not the Connaught Lodge which is a different building. The rooms aren’t as nice and the Expedia listing is not representative of where you’ll stay.
On top of this:
- the sink tap flooded the bathroom when using
- the TV barely worked
- housekeeping didn’t leave any towels
- the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were possibly the worst pillows I’ve ever seen in a hotel.
They charged additional for parking.
Overall a very disappointing stay and an exceptionally misleading Expedia listing.

Great staff, underwhelming hotel
The hotel is ok, but the rooms are in desperate need of a refurb. We had mold in our room and the air con rattled every 5 minutes, which kept us up at night. We had to change rooms. This was done very quickly and the staff were fantastic. The 2nd room ceiling had the paint peeling quite badly, and the air con still rattled just not as often. Walls were very thin, we could here everything from the rooms next door and above. For the price it was a bit underwhelming. The location is pretty good, few mintues to town or the beach, the staff are great. But the hotel itself needs work. Also £12 a night just to park in their car park, is a bit cheeky. Your already paying for the room and its a private car park.

I came to this hotel for a spabreak as read online it was an excellent spa hotel. My room was comfortable and had everything i needed. However the spa facillities were quite dissapointing.
There are dirty areas and litter around the poolside. There were young children and babies with nappies on in the jacuzzi this is most unacceptable,as is extremely unhygienic and also dangerous for young babies. There were toddlers with inflatables in the jacuzzi aswell.
Parents should be responsible in keeping their offspring under supervision and should adhere to rules around the spa area such as no phones,no children in the jacuzzi etc.but sadly they fail to do so.
I would strongly suggest much larger,clearer signage in the jacuzzi area forbidding access to children and use of phones. Also after spending a while in the spa area myself i noticed a considerable lack of attendance by the spa staff in keeping the rules adhered to. They only popped their head round the door very seldomely. So after spending one night at the hotel and paying an extra £30 to use the spa the next morning and finding myself anxious and concerned about the above i went home feeling stressed rather than destressed and felt i needed a good wash. Not what youd expect of a spa break in a reputable Hotel.
There are dirty areas and litter around the poolside. There were young children and babies with nappies on in the jacuzzi this is most unacceptable,as is extremely unhygienic and also dangerous for young babies. There were toddlers with inflatables in the jacuzzi aswell.
Parents should be responsible in keeping their offspring under supervision and should adhere to rules around the spa area such as no phones,no children in the jacuzzi etc.but sadly they fail to do so.
I would strongly suggest much larger,clearer signage in the jacuzzi area forbidding access to children and use of phones. Also after spending a while in the spa area myself i noticed a considerable lack of attendance by the spa staff in keeping the rules adhered to. They only popped their head round the door very seldomely. So after spending one night at the hotel and paying an extra £30 to use the spa the next morning and finding myself anxious and concerned about the above i went home feeling stressed rather than destressed and felt i needed a good wash. Not what youd expect of a spa break in a reputable Hotel.

Our stay was really nice we will definitely be coming back . The pool and gym was really nice our room was great we had everything we needed , staff were friendly and helpful . We had a lovely 4 night stay. Staff were very friendly, polite and knowledgeable of the area. Situated near the beach, it was about 2 min walk to the beach and another 5 mins to the pier. We used the pool and facilities which were nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely and staff quick and attentive to clear dishes away.

The room was on the top floor at the front of the lodge. The bathroom facilities are tiny, but functional.
The door to the room let in a lot of light from the hallway, meaning I had to place a towel at the bottom of the door to be able to sleep. Air con was great though, with a nice quiet setting for night time.
I used the pool first thing, which was busy with other early risers but beware! It’s about 20 degrees c! In the end I used the showers in the changing room because it looked cleaner than the room, albeit a push tap so took ages to rinse.
I had a meal the night before, it was nice but a very hearty portion of pasta with roasted tomato and burrata: I couldn’t finish it

The staff and location were the highlights of our stay but the Connaught Lodge is tired and needs refurbishment. Bed was clean and comfortable but the furniture is drab and the bathroom cramped. Good quality toiletries provided. Had issue with key card and getting into my room which was not resolved so glad only stayed one night. They advertise free parking but only if you book direct and the price matching offer on their website was not available when calling hotel so better to use booking agent as hotel is not worth the advertised rate on the hotel’s own website. Would not return as disappointed with Bournemouth as a town which has rapidly gone downhill since my last visit about three years ago. Not a safe place to walk around now.

The property where reception is is beautiful. There is a garden thats peaceful and attractive. The staff are very welcoming and very helpful. Only thing that let it down was the room. No labelled shampoo or conditioner or even hand soap/gel. We had to buy this. The bed wasn't to my personal liking, the materess was hard and the bed was too high for me being 8 months pregnant was hard getting in and out but perhaps that part is just because i am pregnant. However, overall, i would recommend this hotel to other guests as everything else was perfect. The spa facilities were amazing too.

Connaught is a wonderful hotel excellent rooms and even better staff ( reception, bars, dining, cleaners etc0 wide range menus, nice to sit outside ( when sun is shining of course) close to the seaside and good parking

Only stayed one night and everything was excellent but if I was staying longer the room is small and bathroom even smaller! This was not a problem for me, I suspect it would be for someone who is larger than 5’4” and 9 stone! Anyone booking a single room should bear this in mind. Apart from that the room was lovely and exceptionally clean, the bed extremely comfortable and bedding crisp and fresh white cotton. Breakfast was amazing.
