Filthy rooms, damp windows riddled in mould.
Emailed the manager was offered money of a return stay, have asked for a refund but he won’t reply now.

No warning if a party which was extremely loud and coming through the floors, the receptionist was rude, yawning and disinterested.
Tv controller had only one battery in it.
Dirty walls.

We had to move room 3 times, the first room was next to work in progress, difficult to get down stairs, the second room had a tree outside the window giving us no view, the TV was also not working properly, the third room was ok but the floorboards creaked everytime you walked over them.

The hotel is excellently located and has excellent parking, albeit at extra cost unless you book directly with the hotel. One of the reception staff was a little curt, one pleasant but the former was not unpleasant or rude.
The room I had was very dowdy and in need of decorating. It was however very clean with an excellent TV and a fairly generous supply of tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the linen was fresh. Best of all the shower, although a mixer type running from the taps, was so good and it was easy to get the balance right. I have had much worse showers in more much more expensive establishments. A rubber anti slip mat was supplied and, again, the towels were clean and the toilet and sink were old but clean.
Please don’t let my comments about the old style and worn appearance of the room put you off. It has a pool, bar and would cater for your needs very well. I have stayed here before and will not hesitate to book again if I need an inexpensive room in the area.

Room was a nice size as had booked an executive room. Unfortunately in process of refurb so on arrival the builders were sanding on the next floor which was very loud. Air conditioning in bathroom and refrigerator were both very loud, switched fridge off but unfortunately couldn’t do that with air conditioning. Central heating turned on in the afternoon and about 5 in the morning with a whooshing noise. Informed staff and was told they knew about it. No dining room in the evenings which we did know when we booked, which was a shame. Used swimming pool which needs a bit of tlc. Staff were nice. We have stayed here before and hope that once all the refurb has been done this hotel will be up to scratch.

Our room on the second floor had a seaview, but we also overlooked a noisy road so it wasn't the most pleasant experience. Bedding was clean, but the beds themselves were quite heavily stained and should take pride of place on top of the bonfire! Mattress was a little too firm for our liking. The room seemed freshly painted, but the furniture looked a little tired. A nice bedside lamp, yet no socket to plug it into - in fact, there were no sockets by the bed. Nor was there a socket for the kettle where the tea/coffee facilities were placed. We had to move the kettle near a plug. The light switches to the main room and bathroom were by the front door. Bizarre! Although we were only there for two nights and not really bothered about our room being serviced, the maid knocked one afternoon at 3.15pm, just as we'd got back from town. We didn't use the restaurant or pool, so can't comment. Staff seemed pleasant although some lacked a smile! To sum up, I was happy with what I got for what I'd paid. Be aware that although there is a decent car park, they charge £12 per night! Yet another way to squeeze money out of the paying guests.

Good location from town centre
Room was big, but tired. The room and some of the communal areas could do with painting.

Affordable hotel in the centre, easy to walk around the city or beach to hotel. 24/7 entrance facility, bars and clubs are very close to the hotel. Just walk 7-10 mins and you will see the beautiful bournemouth beach.

The hotel room was reasonably clean and spacious, although I was only one person in a double. I was really disappointed to find that the pool only opened at 9am. I wanted to be able to swim before breakfast, like you can in every other hotel I've ever stayed in with a pool. In the end this meant I didn't get to use the pool so feel that it was a waste of money booking this hotel. Although, the location was excellent for the conference I was at. The shower was difficult to use due to the angle and proximity to the tap end, but the water nicely hot. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the lift was out of order on the Friday and the Sunday of a weekend stay, which were my check in and check out days.

Bed sheets hadnt been changed on arrival so found hair, food and other things in the sheets. To reception's credit they did move me to one that was clean, but changing the sheets between guests seems like the bare minimum for a hotel... Room was only accessible down steep slope - floors, corridors and room doors very noisy so you could hear everything and generally the place is extremely dated. The wing of the hotel where room 102 is has a very unpleasant smell. Plug sockets in bedroom and light in bathroom buzzed worryingly like an electrical short when turned on.

That being said, I disagree with other reviews about the car park, which was fine out of season (although clearly too small if every room occupant wanted to park). The room cost was also particularly cheap.

On reflection, would not recommend and wont be staying again.

Attended a wedding as I was to give the bride away so stayed here. The reception was also at this hotel and no complaints can be made, they were very accommodating and attentive. The food was very good, both for the wedding and breakfast.
Be aware if you don’t book directly with the hotel you will be charged £12 for overnight parking. I was told as I was attending the wedding that it would be refunded to me, that never happened.
All in all, as long as you are aware that the rooms are being updated and you may get one that has not been, regardless of what you pay then it is a pleasant comfortable stay.

⭐ 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Stay

My experience at The Trouville Bournemouth was terrible in every way.

The cleanliness was shocking — we had to buy bleach ourselves to disinfect the bathroom because it was so dirty. The carpet was old, filthy, and worn out, with several damaged spots. The furniture is outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, the place felt neglected and unhygienic.

There was only one electrical socket in the entire room, which is completely unacceptable in today’s world. The elevator was broken, there was no air conditioning, and the fans provided didn't work properly.

When I mentioned my concerns to the reception, they said they didn’t care about reviews because “the hotel is always full anyway.”
So I asked them: Just because you're full, does that mean you don’t need to maintain basic hygiene?

This attitude was just as bad as the conditions of the hotel.

I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. There are much better and cleaner options in Bournemouth — avoid this one.

Well placed hotel. poor hygiene, limited parking.

The arrival and check in was quick and efficient.
We arrived at our room first floor, room 105.
This was at the front of the hotel. Busy main road which didnt affect our stay. The room was looked over by a building across the road that had balconies. There was no blinds or nets, so they could see striaght into room. Currains were available.
As we entered the room there was a strong mildew smell. After a look road. I lifted the filter to the shower it hadnt been cleaned for sometime hence the smell. I took photos and told reception. They said we cant sort it until the morning. I asked for a late housekeeping call as we were heading out and as it was a sunday we'dlike a lie in. We agreed an 11.30am call from. Housekeeping. Sunday they arrived banging ag the door at 8.30am, we didnt answer, then again at 9.30am. On our retun to the room later that day the filter still hadnt been cleaned. So again back reception, and showed them the state of it. The reception cleaned it themselves the night before we were leaving. There were crisps and a bottle top under the bed.
For parking you are charged £12 per night which you pay on arrival and fill out a form.
On our return from a late night out on saturday there as no parking spaces available. We parked our car as it was small outside the front of the hotel, which apparently wasnt for parking.
The swimming pool and facilites were dirty, tired and very dated. The manager would not speak with us about the room. Not a £100 pound a night ho

On arrival one of the lifts was broken, so lots of people trying to use one lift. Car park was very full. Normal charge is £12 a day for cars. We were on motorbikes and got to park for free😉👍
We had to ask housekeeping to change our bedding as the duvet and sheet were dirty. We didn’t eat there, so can’t comment on the food.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The place definitely needs a facelift, or at least a damn good clean. It was a short walk to the Sea front, so well placed, and reasonable value. I would stay here again. Mainly because I’m tight😂

Fantastic location, 5 mins away from the beach and restaurants. The staff were nice and helpful. On the other hand, the hotel was very dated, carpet and doors very dirty, the main lift was out of order. No air conditioning in the entire hotel. Our room was compact, the bathroom clean and spacious, the carpet dirty, newish furniture, two fans to cool the room down. The view out of the window was a dirty wall, only 2 feet away, limiting the natural light. Breakfast options were very limited, only cereals, fruits and yogurts available, no decaf tea/coffee. The full English breakfast was good, but small. No gluten free options at all. The chairs were dirty and the room looked untidy. We will not be staying there again.

We went for a family trip to Bournemouth we booked this hotel, and it was absolutely amazing. They gave us refurbished family room which was just perfect. My only comment is for breakfast timing is very short as I’m there to enjoy my time, also the food order for breakfast needs to be organised may be give Breakfast order form to your guests to choose what they want to eat, a lot of mistakes and confusion I have seen during my stay.

The places is located right next to the beach and close to the Bournemouth Square. Public transport is also nearby. The hotel is extremely dated and is giving a little icky vibe. However, it's not particularly dirty. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was nice, and even had vegetarian sausage option for the English breakfast.

The room was a bit small and there was no hanging space for coats or dresses. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. It was a very warm night and although we could open the windows the traffic noise was bad so we had to close them. Breakfast was ok if you wanted a cooked full English but the cereals were very limited, the bread was not wholemeal and there was NO MARMALADE! Is this England??
It was ok, you get what you pay for and the price was reasonable.

Absolutely disgusting place! We stayed 4 night and paid £48 for parking and was told i was not guaranteed a space! The spa facilities were absolutely disgusting! The sauna was freezing and rest of it was disgusting!
We didn’t get any fresh towels or bed sheets in the room all the time we were there!
The tv was probably the smallest TV in the world! The bed was like sleeping on a bed of bricks!

Pleasent enough staff and we added breakfast for i day which was good value. The location is also good and the car park is a must in Bournmouth.

As for the room itself,,,i would rate as very average. Half the lights in the room did not work and only 1 electrical socket to run the all the appliances in room TV / Fan / Kettle. We were in a twin room so charging phones ETC became a relay !

The room furnature is very old and basic old brown wood , the type you see in charity shops.

The carpet was also stained and worn,

The beds were quite comfortable and the bed linin was clean.

We were in the area for a wedding so did not spend a huge amount of time in the hotel. The location and the price point made it possable for our needs. Not the best....but certainly not the worst.

Could be a lot better with some overdue TLC.

The staff were friendly and helpful, checked us in a little earlier as room was ready, this was good as we could leave our suitcases and bags and settle in our room before heading out. The room didn’t look like the pictures though. It is rather dated and could do with some refreshing, a lick of paint, some new curtains and a sheet to cover the bottom box of the bed which the mattress is on (so we didn’t see the base) would be good as they look very old.
The water pressure was poor and very difficult to get a shower that isn’t too hot or too cold. Good for a bath as they are big and deep but not so great for a shower. The floors creak so badly and I was self-conscious of moving about for residents underneath or either side. It was overall relatively pleasant but just needs some interior work and attention to the smaller details which can go a long way in improving an experience.

Older property but well refurbed and even with a swimming pool free to guests which I didn't use as only booked for one night. The room had a view of a roof, but was clean and comfortable. For the rice paid it was excellent value. Reception went the extra mile to give me a room with a walk in shower as I have mobility issues, but as the building is an older type there were steps going up and down to it after I got to that floor by lift. The only downside to my stay was that parking seemed plentyful but I went out for the evening and it was full upon my return. All in all for an economy stay it was excellent value for money

The staff were pleasant on arrival. The room we were first given was not good. Unable to get hot water, TV didn't work, curtains were ill fitting and you could have tbe curtains open as it was level with the road outside do absolutely no privacy unless you kept the curtains closed constantly.
We requested to move rooms which the young lad on reception granted with no questions asked and was very apologetic saying they were going through refurbishment which wasnt mentioned when booking.
The second room was better but there were issues. The room was extremely hot, the road noise was extremely noisy and the wash basin in the bathroom was so small and very low.
Sadly we won't be back unless perhaps the refurb improves things.

The room was fine. Pity about the floorboards of the room above creaking when anyone walked around. The bed was slightly too saggy, but everything else was fine. Breakfast was filling, but I would have preferred scrambled rather than fried eggs, and a changing menu. The pool/spa was nice but ageing, and it gets used to teach kids swimming at times, so may not be available. Still, it was good for the price and it's in a nice location.

Our first room was not up to cleanliness standards.We were moved to a better cleaner room the manager came to see us and was very helpful & apologised.The location was fantastic the staff were friendly breakfast was on a basic level and on the last two days there was no orange juice or yogurts could do with a wider cereal choice & maybe bananas too overall was a decent hotel that still has areas of improvement and could see work was being done on the property while we were there.

Hotel from hell. Would never stay again. First room was dirty & not been properly cleaned for a long time. Dust everywhere, dirty carpets, dusty fan, bug found on bed. Our view was where they store the dirty towels.My partner called reception to ask for another room as this was setting off her asthma. 2nd room was just as bad if not worse. We went to reception again to be called liars and the room was cleaned today. We had to refuse to stay in the room or we want a full refund. We was then put in the executive suite, this was better but still not good. Dirty carpets, patched wallpaper stains around the toilet. We was then told the next day the cleaners will clean our original room for us to move back into. Was then told during breakfast we would be upgraded to the deluxe room & this was clear the room is to dirty to fix or noone can be bothered & this is a health hazard for anyone with poor breathing conditions. The 4th room (the deluxeroom) was where we stayed for the duration but was still not great. Then after an afternoon in the pool, we went back to our room to find the lock was broken, we then was told to wait for the maintenance guy. We was left in another room dripping wet from swimming. Because of all this we missed dinner because it was past 9pm All this and the state of Bournemouth area, we decided at that point to leave. We checked out 1 day early and will never go back. Good reception staff. Very dirty and old rug in the family room. No air conditioning and noise from vehicles passing on the road when you open the windows to let in air. Lift doesn't look safe.

The room I had a flying cockroach in the bathroom, I said this to the staff and the staff was rude and said it was because there was a lot insects in the UK. So disappointed. My whole stay I couldn’t sleep as I am nearby the exit door and a lot people coming in and out and the staff defensively said its in the fire exit and no one should come there but apparently a lot of people do!! Hopeless..

The room stinks and the facilities were very outdated.

Definitely NOT going to pay a penny for this hotel with cockroach and ill-mannered staff!!!

Disgusting hotel - like a squat

Check-in was met by a very rude receptionist - when I complained about my room gave me an equally disgusting room. Leaving me with little to choose from. Someone else attempted to help but was told that that was all they could do. Later in that night a lovely receptionist switched me to a far cleaner room, demonstrating that it could be done - so why wasn’t it done earlier? The requirements of any hotel should be a clean room with furniture that isn’t so dated and old that sitting on it becomes a health risk. Also found a bug on the bed. All in all very poor service apart from the one receptionist and the rooms for single people are awful! See photos - £50 a night - wow - goes up to £90 on Saturday - poor show -

Good location but hotel little dated

Near beachfront and not too far from centre. Hotel itself dated … old furniture in rooms, lumpy bed with some stains on linen. Although bathroom is old, shower hot water ok and towels clean. Pool and jacuzzi warm and clean but dated - bubbles not working and steam room takes too long to warm up. Gym equipment should be removed - looks very dated. Cooked breakfast mostly inedible - everything overdone and dry.

Don’t let a fancy name fool you.

How this hotel has merited 3 stars is simply beyond me, the only positive about it is geographical as it’s close to the beach and town centre. Initially it seemed nice judging by reception and bar area. This is the only positive I can give it though. There were 2 lifts in the building, one of which was out of order which made it very difficult for disabled to reach other floors as the lift used led a small 3 step staircase to reach the majority of the hotel. The other lift was defaced with multiple slurs on the walls, one of which referencing the orientation of a chap called Dann. The rooms were outdated and looked like they hadn’t been changed since the 70s with wallpaper peeling. Ariel cables hanging out back of the TV, clearly broken. The mattress was old, so old it was dipping each side and I almost fell out on my first night. Bathroom had stains on the bathtub, where the ceramic had worn down with a shower clogged with limescale. A tower fan was provided for the stuffy room however this was clogged with dust to the point where layers of it could be pulled easily from the vent. As we were staying a couple of nights we expected that the bin’s were emptied (especially as we had a toddler in nappies) and coffee, milk sugar replenished for the following morning. Clearly we were expecting too much! Small swimming pool was stained and showed signs of mould. Sauna was colder than the pool area. I will not be staying here and advise others to avoid.
