Lovely welcome, really lovely room although very hot, but was able to get a fan from reception. The hotel is spotless, fresh towels and bedding and updated each day. Quiet location, perfect for exploring the town. The food in the restaurant was also really good and you get well looked after and also 15% off as a gesture from the hotel great selection at breakfast and again well looked after.......would defiantly book again

Room had everything you could need. Beautifully decorated, comfy bed, great tea and coffee options and lovely bathroom with Milton brown toiletries. Major problem was the constant noise throughout the night which sounded like a noisy bathroom fan running continuously!!! A real shame as a very poor nights sleep in lovely surroundings. Room 114 definitely not one to stay in.

This is our second time visiting because we loved the place the first time. We stayed in 303 this time. Unfortunately I would not go back again.

Room was constantly plagued with sewage smell. The staff tried to help but were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. On New Year’s day even the ground floor bathroom had to be shut for a period of time because of the same problem.

Also throughout our stay we had no heat in the room and it was freezing temps outside. The staff brought us a small heater which did help but that made the already small room even smaller.

The food was lovely and so were the staff but when we complained about the issues we were offered a small discount for another visit. Hence we will not be going back again.

It’s worth a visit but just make sure you don’t stay in room 303.

The staff were charming and the room immaculate. The only negative aspect is that the kitchen closed well before the stated time and I was unable to have supper on my first night. When I complained the only suggestion was that I could go out and get a takeaway.

This is a great place to stay in Stratford. From the moment we walked through the door, we just felt we had made the right choice. A roaring open fire, a beautiful Christmas tree, oak panels and a winding staircase.
All the staff were exceptionally courteous, welcoming & friendly. We had a great room, with a huge bathroom.
The place is full of history as you’d expect. Breakfast was great and there’s a great bar serving a good choice of cask & craft beer.
Overall, a really excellent stay.

Clean room and bathroom with good quality complementary items and coffee machine. Breakfast was varied with cooked options and cold buffet style foods. The hotel/pub itself is beautiful listed building. Bar and food was quite expensive for what you get, so we ate and drank elsewhere. Handily, the hotel is in a fantastic location to access shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Everything was just marvellous! A beautifully decorated room, spotless bathroom, fabulous rolltop bath, lovely warm robes and delicious brownies with a handwritten welcome card. The staff were amazing: friendly, warm, knowledgable and kind - nothing was too much trouble. The cosy, historical dining area served delicious breakfasts and sublime evening meals, and the coffee was superb. I loved every minute of my stay and would highly recommend The White Swan.

This was a great hotel, in a great location. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room was spotless and lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was squeaky clean had everything in the room that you may need on your stay.

The options for breakfast were varied with food being cooked to order, & everything was provided that you could possibly need. 2 nights with Shakspear

No free parking locally. The hotel is in the town center with easy access to local sights and amenities. There is a lift at the hotel so handy for disabled persons. The beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. The bar prices are expensive and any drinks or food hadled or served by waiters bears a 10 percent service charge.
The room we booked was equiped with a lovely roll too bath and walk in shower.
Unfortunatately for me on both mor ings of the stay my breakfast was of poor quality.
The streaky bacon was inedible the tomato and mushroom overcooked and dry and black pudding on the first day dry and crispy
Luckily the other 3 in the party chose eggs benedict or ommeletes all of which were very good..

All the staff were very friendly (something I rarely say!), the room was comfortable, reasonably priced, and the breakfast was great, with a wide range. The main dining room is is full of character and the hotel is well located within a few minutes walk of many of the attractions. Would definitely stay again!

All staff we encountered were great, really went out of their way to make our stay special. Reception staff ensured that the flowers and Prosecco we ordered were delivered to our room prior to our arrival, they also added chocolates and a card, they were also very helpful and accommodating during our stay.
The restaurant and bar staff were also very friendly and helpful, for instance when booking dinner for Sunday evening, to ensure availability of ingredients following a busy lunchtime, they reserved sufficient for our 8 o’clock booking.
Overall, they didn’t make a fuss over our golden wedding anniversary weekend (which we didn’t want) but they did help to make it special.
We will definitely stay at the White Swan when we next visit Stratford upon Avon.

We were in a 'cosy' room at the far end of the hotel which meant it was generally quiet. Disappointed that there was no carpark or vouchers for the local parking so a 2 night stay had an additional charge for carpark that we weren't expecting. There was no information about this when we booked.

Location was perfect for shopping and restaurants. Our room was OK, bed was comfortable. We were given a handicap room next to the elevator, which we did not request or need. The bathroom was large but when taking a shower water was everywhere in the bathroom. The voice in the elevator could be heard in our room every time some one used it and overall the room was small and very dark, even with lights turned on. I did appreciate the history of the building and the breakfast was delicious.

The standard room which we booked was smaller than I expected but I checked with the receptionist as I thought they may have given us a 'cosy' room by mistake; she confirmed it was a standard. Check in polite but slow . Room very end of hotel , smallest room we have stayed in. One bath towel for two . Put pillows by door to stop light under . Noisy as back of building . Nice shower . Flies on fruit in restaurant breakfast buffet. Informed lady and told they have a problem with flies in the heat ? So cover your food might help like they do abroad ? Poached eggs very snotty, can’t eat . Never asked if we enjoyed our stay or food or anything or if everything was ok. Bar man nice and friendly. Topped up water bottle for me. Left my small thin top in wardrobe. Called them but Policy was £6 delivery fee as Royal Mail pricing ! Would only cost £2 at most to send it ! Didn’t agree iso asked them to give it to charity ! Great service guys .. not

I was able to stay in the oldest character room in the hotel, which was an amazing stay. Room pictured was the room I stayed in: wooden 4-poster bed, wonky architectural features, stained glass windows. Excellent staff, food, and great location. 5-7mins walk from train station. Within walking distance of all Shakespearean historic sites in Stratford-Upon-Avon, as well as the largest butterfly farm in the UK. Quiet building/room even though it faced onto the high street. Highly recommend a stay, and I'd consider returning here.

White Swan Hotel has English countryside charm like a beautiful cottage. The room is spacious and has good amenities. However, there two things that I should mention: firstly the room is not sound proof and you may hear loud conversations from inside the room in the hall and secondly, the air conditioning does not work well and it takes a long time to adjust the temperature. Otherwise, everything else is good. The restaurant run by the hotel offers delicious English cuisine and they give 15% discount to the food if you stay there. All attractions in town are within walking distance including the train station.

We booked a Superior Double room, which is one of the best they offer. The pictures on Expedia show several very nice rooms with big windows. We did not get one of those. We got the room with small windows looking out onto two roofs. The room felt very claustrophobic with views to broken down a/c equipment on one side and shabby artificial turf on the other. The room decor was drab and dated and the bathroom had a curtain for a door. We feel the pictures of the rooms were misleading. If you choose to stay at this hotel, specify the exact room you want. You do NOT want ours. Oh, and don’t order a Manhattan in the bar. The bartender told us, “I know how to make it, but it’s not listed so I’m not able to ring it up… ☹️
