Looks nothing like the pictures, very run down and unclean. The carpet on the stairs was absolutely rotten, that was a clue as to what was to come… The shower temperature was all over the place, room needed painting and all in all was generally unclean. Overpriced, never again will I say in this location. The only upside was the staff were genuinely very nice and helpful, I didn’t have the heart to complain to them as you can see they are trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Was supposed to be here for 2 nights, first night first room, TV not working, Wifi not working and no hot water! Moved me to a new room turned out to have the same issues. When I reached the hotel for the second night I was told. there is still no hot water so left the hotel and stayed elsewhere. The room was booked in advance and have contacted the hotel via Expedia twice to try and get a refund for at least the second night and not heard from them at all.

Our stay at this property was nothing short of awful. From the moment we entered the first room, we realised something was very wrong. All the windows were wide open, and the room felt like a freezer. We tried to warm it up, but things only got worse when we checked the bathroom. What we found was honestly disgusting: a filthy sink, a dirty shower, and on the floor… a pair of dirty men’s pants.
It was shocking, upsetting, and absolutely unacceptable.

Hoping the rest of the room might be better, we looked around, only to discover even more problems. The carpet was dirty, dust was everywhere, and we found spiders in the corners. The whole place felt neglected and unhygienic. At that point, we felt frustrated and honestly quite helpless, so we went straight to reception.

To their credit, a staff member came with us and took photos, clearly seeing the state of the room. We hoped the second room would be an improvement, but sadly it still disappointed us. It was cold as well, the bathroom radiator was leaking water all over the floor, the cups and kettle area was covered in dust, and we even saw another red spider near the window. We felt tired, uncomfortable, and honestly just wanted to leave.

The next morning, we tried to at least start the day with a cup of coffee. But after one sip, we were shocked again: the coffee tasted strongly of washing liquid, as if the cups had been soaked but never rinsed. It was awful and made us feel even more uneasy about the overall hygiene of

Although the bed and shower were fresh and clean, the rest of the hotel was either dirty or broken. toilet seat wasnt properly attached. TV remote repaired with duct tape. Homeless people congregating outside the property.

Recently refurbed. Not well maintained.

Room I had booked had broken blinds on the ground floor. Room was recently refurbished but not well maintained. Raised this to reception area and they moved me to a smaller room but did not refund the price difference. I did arrive late (after 10pm) so staff coverage was probably low.

The hotel looks good on the website, however it needs a refresh. My room has only a vertical blind no curtains, no air conditioning & is very warm. The window overlooks an alley which has not been cleaned in a while beyond the alleyway is a carpark for a local business. I have to say how disappointed i am as it looks much better on the website.

Good luck if tour in room 114.
Door doesnt work.
No windows - no fan - no air con. I sat up instead of sleeping due to the heat in this room.
Reception and ground floor STINKS of a unhygienic chippy.

I oaid £95 to not sleep and smell something rancid.

The room was smelly on entry. And thick layers of dust on window seals. The window blinds were in a bad way and so alley street light shone through. Additionally I had to ask the night porta for a way to cover the fire emergency light which illuminated the room once lights were out.

I booked in with breakfast using a nhs discount. Between the hotel and expida. I never got one and was told I wasn’t down for it. Even though I paid £20 for it. Was offered toast as a sorry. Towels had make up on. Stairs carpet is lose.

Looked good on first impressions, room was very warm and stuffy, no fan or air conditioning, no hairdryer in room, no soundproofing, could hear people vomiting by our window, toilet seat was extremely loose, pillows were beaten up and lumpy, gentleman on reception on check out just wanted us out and not interested in issues, would not stay here again

Convenient business hotel, clean and comfortable room, spacious, though I couldn't work out the skylight controls (if that's what the switch just inside the room was? Nice service, friendly staff. Good Indian takeaway (cash only) across the road. Next time (because I would stay there again - good location, good value, easy parking) I'd opt for breakfast elsewhere and think about not having to work in the room as the \"desk\" space isn't comfortable - that said, there is a 'lounge' area (I think) where you could (and I could have!) set up the laptop....

Ok but…

The hotel was modern and clean, reception very small area and you have to ring someone to come down. Our room 105 on the ground floor was nice, large bed, very spacious, tea, coffee and water provided, plus a handy fridge. Bed was reasonably comfortable. En-suite was small but ok, the main problem was the shower that would only run ver very hot water and the shower door was partially hanging off and looked dangerous. Both of these problems could of caused major injuries. We just didn’t use it and reported it to the staff who said he would get a plumber in. It was a shame that the Cafe was closed as they had like so many others just lost their chef. However the location was very good with lots of pubs and restaurants around, and great for the Baths Hall theatre where we were going to see a show. Also very good value for money.

Value was good. Bathroom was incredibly hot which made the room very hot with no apparent way of controlling the temperature.
The fire alarm went off twice during the first night - which isn't directly the hotels fault.... I presume. But the heat plus disturbance.
Good in-house takeaway delivers room service. Many, many takeaways within a few hundred yards of the hotel.

But the room is terrible as it is like an oven, not able to sleep because of heat. Also single room is too small so that you can’t pass from one side to the other. You need to jump over the bed.

Nice rooms, no ventilation

The Hotel itself is really really nice. The rooms are very modern and appear to be brand new. The lady that checked us in was also very friendly and professional. They also have parking at the front for a small number of vehicles and round the back they have a large spacious carpark (without height restrictions) which is great as we were in a large van. I'm not sure about the bar and restaurant as they were closed due to Covid 19. There are lots of takeaways bars and restaurants very close by and a sainsburys directly behind the hotel. The big problem with the rooms is there aren't any windows or ventilation so it was very difficult to sleep as the rooms are hot. And also directly above the bed is a skylight without anyway to block the light and as it's summer, daylight beams down on you at around 5am so if you do manage to nod off with the heat and lack of oxygen. It won't be for long as the daylight will wake you up. I wouldn't stay here again simply because of the ventilation and skylight. Which is a shame really as it would be a brilliant find.
p.s My colleague also had a room which had exactly the the same issues, so it wasn't just my bad luck.

The room was big and clean. The problem was that there was no ventilation so it was very hot.
The other issue was that there was a skylight (with no blind) and a bright green light for the alarm. This meant the room was never dark so I struggled to fall asleep due to these two issues.
Might be better in the winter

Lovley Hotel, Well Decorated and presented. Comfy spacey bed in the room. Nice rain affect shower. Hotel offers nice food and dining facilities. Secure parking at back pf hotel and very close to town centre. Overall the stay was a 10 out of 10 and looking for to visiting again

Brand new hotel close to centre of Scunthorpe

Great stay in 42 apart-hotel. Brand new hotel room with modern decor, a huge bed, power shower and and fridge. As you would expect with any new hotel everything works great and it is well insulated and quiet. Could do with a few more amenities like an ironing board, bedside lamp, and hairdryer but I am sure these will soon come. Recommend!
