Traveling with friends thru Portugal and stayed here 1 night. Perfect location for walking to Evora walled city; free parking; comfortable beds and rooms; delicious breakfast included; enjoyed indoor pool/sauna/steam room area in the early evening. Left a Samsung tablet by mistake and the hotel staff went above and beyond to secure it; they offered to help get it shipped to home but we decided to return and pick it up instead. Would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Very nice hotel with plenty of amenities and just outside an entry to the walled city. Also near bus station and across the street from a gas station. Hotel includes a pool (pools actually) a spa, a workout area and a trainer. Good for families, couples or singles..great breakfast

Great staff, but food accomodation was lacking. We wanted to takeaway a dish that was only offered at the restaurant and not on the room service menu but they were very rigid about this. I had to sit down at the restaurant and order the dish and then immediately asked them to pack it for me. They gave me a hassle about this and I told them it was for my wife who was not feeling well and wanted to stay in the room. After talking to 3 different people, they finally allowed me to take the plate to the room.

We really enjoyed our stay here..The pool are was lovely.Had some lovely food at the pool bar..The rooms were very nice and spotless clean.Two gripes would be the room had no dressing table or mirror to apply make up and dry hair.The plug sockets were situated far from the long mirror so had to do it in all in the bathroom and it was very dark, and hot...Also I thought the breakfast was disappointing not much choice at all in the fruit selection or anything else to be honest.The first hotel Iv ever stayed in Portugal that didn’t have Nata tarts.But I still enjoyed my stay

Negatives-
Hallways are humid and uncomfortable. Most likely due to indoor pool that is below the halls.
Air Conditioning works but takes awhile to cool room, and bathroom does not get cool easily.
Potential maintenance issues as daughter's room smelled of a sewer in the middle of the night. We wanted a refund, but could not as we booked through this 3rd party, so we will try to deal with them. Mgr was professional and did what she could, but we were left with a less than positive feel with the place.

The people at the front desk were amazing. Very courteous, friendly and helpful. Of note is Duarte who helped us immensely with booking dining options. We loved the 4 outdoor pools and one indoor pool. The grounds were also very well kept.

The only thing is we wish the fences at the back pool was higher for more privacy. We would also have appreciated more bathroom amenities such as lotion, cotton swabs and ear buds. But we did appreciate the free drinks in the fridge.

Good Value for location and fab hotel !

The bus ( Flixbus ) Dropped me bang outside the hotel. I thought check in allowed was a bit late. HOtel was fab - great staff, food , ambience, rooms were well appointed. There were refillable soap and shampoo but conditioner was missing and so was the moisturiser so carry your own. It is practically within the town centre just outside the wall so don't be put off as it is a three minute walk into the old centre. Nothing i sfar away in Evora.Will I stay there again - yes !

Great experience at this facility. We did not have our room available for us because of some computer hiccup. They had to offer us a smaller room. Not a big deal for a one night stay. Customer service was amazing. We’ve been offered free dinner with wine, free garage parking. Great facility, clean rooms, excellent choices of food for dinner and breakfast. 5 star for customer service, hands down. Would stay again. Thank you kindly.

Can not be more pleased with staff. From the very beginning to the last moment of checking out. Room we reserved was not available and we had to settle for a smaller room. Not a big deal for one night stay. We were given free dinner with unlimited wine, garage parking. Every staff member was so nice and apologetic. Great dinner and more than adequate breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again. Thank you.

The hotel met expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathroom door didn’t close properly and AC not very strong so room a bit stuffy. Main thing to be aware of is that the hotel has a lot of bus tours which can be a bit challenging for the hotel to handle with massive influxes and exodus of people. If you are there when there isn’t a bus tour it is probably a 5/5 hotel.

Outdoor pool ms for adults and kids plus a hot tub under the stars (but street with cars buzzing by). Best part is indoor pool and gym if you have kids. Good spread at breakfast. And just 10 min walk into old historic evora! Perfect location! And free parking.

Everything was good when we stayed there for a night. The only thing we didn’t like was the look and feel of the hotel. It’s supposed to be modern but it felt a little old Vegas to me with the purple decor everywhere. Stayed at the Olive Hotel the night before and it was much more modern and our style.

Smart hotel walking distance to town centre

We stayed here for 4 nights in a family room with our 2 children. The rooms were modern and clean, staff friendly and the indoor pool was great.
The only 2 criticisms I have are:
Our room was located near the hotel bar area and since there are no carpets, any time a chair moves the noise carried loudly into our bedroom. This woke us up several times.
Also there was a wide choice of food at breakfast which was well presented, but the quality wasn’t fantastic. Poor coffee. However the fresh fruit and other buffet items were good.
The location of the hotel was perfect to walk into the town of Evora.

The room was dirty on my arrival. I had to ask to change room. We have pictures of the sutch a poor standard.
Also had a interconnected door whitch that's not what we booked.
Overlooking a terrace with fake grass that was all blown up to the sides.
For the price was poor.
2nd room ok.
No lockers for the swimming pool unless if you book spa.
Car park €8. Which there is no need for the charge.
Overall would recommend go elsewhere...

Room service menu was very limited.
Buffet breakfast was good though...
Note that you cannot use the indoor pool unless you purchase one of their swimming caps, and the outdoor pool is freezing.

2night sightseeing break in Evora

Two night sight seeing visit to Evora as a family of four, with kids aged 10 and 12. The room was large enough and clean and comfortable with a good air con given that it was mid-to-high 30's during our stay. Buffet breakfast was good but like other Vila Gale hotels the coffee was not fresh but from a hot pot, so could have been better. The pool area was busy but the kids enjoyed the slides and jacuzzi and spent most evenings in the water. More towels would have been nice and not needing to collect from the reception but have a continual supply of fresh towels at poolside would be a much better way of doing things. Parking is available out the front if a space appears, across the road and nearby or underground for a charge. Overall a new, clean and good value hotel for a short break in Evora.

Nice hotel but far from the city walls

The hotel facility is very nice and the family room we stayed in was spacious. The only thing that was a problem was the sink in the bathroom, it was clogged and leaking. I informed front desk and they said they will have someone to take a look but no one came. Luckily we only stayed a night as we only used the bath tub for everything. I mentioned it at checkout again but the staff did not seem to be too bothered.

The buffer breakfast was great - lots of variety so made it great for everyone. The outdoor pools were great - they had two kiddy ones.

The location is a tad far from the city centre but if you have a car then it's fine.

Booked for three adults. A cot was given for the third person. It was very uncomfortable. Walls are thin. Neighbours kept us up all night even when I put on ear plugs. Food at the restaurant was good and our waiters were great but things were charged to our bill that we were not expecting like bread and water.

Perfect in every way

This sparkling new hotel is the ideal option for Evora. It's design is a great combination of asthetics and functionality. The staff is very helpful, the restaurant (especially its breakfast buffet) is great, and the pools are excellent. The rooms are well-designed witb high-end finishes and fixtures.

The location is perfect, across the street from an entrance to the old walled city. Very quiet as well. Family friendly.

Highly recommended.

Quick checkin and out. Service outside pool area very poor. Ordered coffee and waited 15 minutes, it was lukewarm when it eventually arrived. There was no apology when I returned it and was told to wait outside the preparation area until he brought a fresh one - so no poolside service then!!
Breakfast rather chaoticand and very noisy. Staff not particularly pleasant.

Evora - the place to be.

This hotel was great. The location was easy to find, close to see the castle and easy to get out of town to get onto the toll highway for Lisbon. It had a nice tub/shower, fridge with extra plug-ins to charge our cell phone and camera. We did not have to pay extra for a safety box. The side lamps were high and bright for reading in bed. We didn't go for underground parking to pay extra but there were spots outside for free.

Good modern base in Evora

The hotel is 10mins walk from old town centre. It is very new, modern & sparkling clean, great pool ( though I would not have chosen yellow pool tiles) The staff were particularly helpful & friendly. We were there over a weekend. It was very busy Fri & Sat nights, but quiet on Sunday. Pool was wonderful Sunday afternoon, we were the only ones there! Breakfast was plentiful, but average. Lacked imagination. The juices were warm, the coffee awful and even when we tried to make tea, the water was not hot enough. Our room was very comfortable, EXCEPT the a/c did not really work fully for the first 24 hours. I wish , if hotels know the room is reserved, they could turn on the a/c a little in advance. They did send up a maintenance man, but he more of less said it just takes time. By day 2 it was excellent. All in all though, if you want modern facilities very close to old Evora, it makes a good base. We did not eat there in the evenings, due to breakfast experience. Also the decor of the dining area was not to our tastes, rather cafeteria like. There are many great restaurants in town.

This hotel is ideally situated next to the historic center of Evora. There is paid parking at the hotel. Breakfast is included and it was a full buffet. We did not take advantage of the swimming pool, but it looked nice and had slides for children. There is a full bar and restaurant and large lobby area. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but it was very modern and nice. Evora was one of our favorite places we visited in Portugal.

The hotel is quite new, about 16mths since opening. Very modern and spacious.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant .
The evening menu in the restaurant was very limited, though very nice.
The breakfast although a wide choice, the hot food was not hot, eggs,bacon, mushrooms,etc.
and the toaster , although poor in many hotels, this was the worste, it just didn't work ,unless you only like one side of your bread toasted.

Large, modern hotel. Easy walking distance to old city (can see city walls from hotel). Paid underground parking or free parking in lot across the side street. On perrimeter road so easy access to outside of Evora. Swimming pool (too small for high demand when we were there but there in higher season during heat wave). Swim towels available at desk. Line up if busy. Did not eat there. Very hot - 44 C in Sept.
